        A native Trichoderma harzianum strain Th62 displays antagonistic activities against phytopathogenic fungi and promotes the growth of Celosia cristata

        Trichoderma spp. are widely applied, eco-friendly mycofungicides and plant growth promoters. Native Trichoderma strainsare likely to have more productive, stable biocontrol and biofertilizer activities since they are well adapted to the local environment. In this study, we isolated a native Trichoderma strain ‘Th62’ from the rhizosphere soil of wild Chelidonium majusplants in Harbin, China (126.6341°E, 45.7242°N). The isolated Trichoderma strain was identifi ed as a T. harzianum strainvia morphological observation and molecular methods based on the rDNA internal transcribed spacer region and elongationfactor-1α gene sequences. Signifi cant antagonistic activities of Th62 against fi ve soil-borne fungal phytopathogens,Fusarium oxysporum , Sclerotinia sclerotiorum , Alternaria alternata , Cytospora chrysosperma, and Rhizoctonia solani ,were confi rmed by dual-culture assays. Furthermore, the crude fermentation products of Th62 also displayed antifungalactivities against these fi ve pathogens. To evaluate the function of Th62 as a biofertilizer, we subsequently applied Th62on cockscomb ( Celosia cristata L), a plant species with both ornamental and medicinal values, by inoculation with Th62conidia at diff erent concentrations, 1 × 10 10 cfu mL −1 , 1 × 10 11 cfu mL −1 , and 1 × 10 12 cfu mL −1 . The benefi cial eff ects ofTh62 were evaluated by measuring the growth and photosynthetic traits of the inoculated cockscomb plants, and the resultsdemonstrated that Th62 signifi cantly improved the photosynthetic effi ciency, photosynthetic capacity, and the adaptabilityto intense light of the inoculated cockscomb plants compared to the controls. Consistently, Th62 inoculation signifi cantlyimproved the growth and fl ower yield of cockscomb. We presented a positive case of isolating and applying native microbialresources on local plantation practices.

        Luminescence and photoconductivity properties of porous polycrystalline silicon

        In recent years, the photoluminescence and the photoconductivity of porous silicon were comprehensively studied. But the photoluminescence and the photoconductivity of porous polycrystalline silicon have not been wholely studied. In this paper, the results showed that luminescent property of the samples prepared by poly-crystal silicon wafers may be related to the defects on Si complexes surface, which can be proved by microwave-detected photoconductivity decay measurements. Furthermore, the luminescence of samples was disappeared under the external illumination, which may be related to the elimination of luminescent-centers. In addition, the conductivities of the samples were dependent on etched time and current density, and the large porosity of samples led to isotropic photoconductivity, which may be related to the change of energy band structure of the devices.       • A New Static Data Flow Clustering Algorithm for Task Scheduling of Irregular Mesh in NoCs Based on Complex Networks

        The majority of recent embedded systems are based on MPSoCs (Multi-Processors System on Chip) architectures. The topologies and the interconnections inside multi processors almost adopt NoCs (Networks on Chip) whose topology and task scheduling algorithm have a direct impact on its performances. In this paper, by using static data flow, a task scheduling algorithm which would automatically assign the application tasks onto different processors is proposed based on complex network. The goal of our algorithm is to replace the static data flow subnetwork by a single dynamic data flow actor such that the global performance in terms of latency and throughput is optimized. Through complex network, it greatly enhances the power of our algorithm in terms of avoiding deadlock, saving energy and providing for integration with more general models of computation. Experimental results show up to 60% performance improvement for real-world examples.

        Pd–Fe bimetallic nanoparticles anchored on N‑doped carbon‑modified graphene for efficient catalytic organic reactions

        A promising approach to enhance catalytic performance of supported heterogeneous nano-metal catalysts is to uniformly disperse active nanoparticles on the support. In this work, N-doped carbon-modified graphene (G@NC) nanosheet is designed and prepared to anchor Pd–Fe bimetallic nanoparticles (Pd–Fe/G@NC). The N-doped carbon modification on graphene surface could construct a sandwich-like structure (G@NC), which not only prevented the re-stacking of graphene nanosheets but also provided confined space for stable anchoring of bimetallic Pd–Fe nanoparticles. Benefitted from the unique structural property and synergetic effect of metal Pd and Fe species, the as-obtained Pd–Fe/G@NC composite displays excellent catalytic activity toward 4-nitrophenol reduction reaction with a turnover frequency of 613.2 min? 1, which is far superior to that of the mono-metal counterparts (Fe/G@NC and Pd/G@NC). More importantly, Pd–Fe/G@NC catalyst also exhibits favorable catalytic performance in the reduction of other nitroaromatic compounds (nitrobenzene, 4-nitrotoluene, 4-chloronitrobenzene, and so on). In addition, Pd–Fe/G@NC can catalyze the oxidation of furfuraldehyde to furoic acid with a high yield of 88.64%. This work provides a new guide for rationally designing and developing advanced supported heterogeneous bimetallic catalyst.

        The preparation, performance and lithiation mechanism of cobalt-doped zinc oxide as a high performance anode material for LIB

        Zn1-xCoxO (0 x 0.15) anode material was prepared by an easy polyacrylamide assisted sol-gel route. The successful replacement of Zinc by Cobalt within Cobalt content x 0.09 was confirmed by structural characterization. The introduction of Cobalt element greatly improved the electro-chemical performances of the matrix Zinc oxide. Without carbon coating, at the 20th cycle, Zn0.91Co0.09O anode still preserved a capacity a little bit more than 1000 mA h g1 and a capacity more than 600 mA h g1 was retained at the end of the 50th cycle. Better rate capability was also witnessed. The SEM, EIS at OCV, CV and in situ XRD were further carried out to elucidate the lithiation mechanism. The role Cobalt doping played can be summarized as follows: the stabilization of the Li2Zn phase, the minimization of charge transfer resistance and the enhanced reversibility of the reduction from metal oxide to metal.

        Simultaneous Determination of Hydroquinone and Catechol by N-doped Porous Biochar-modified Electrode

        N-doped porous biochar (NPB) with large conjugated systems could not only be used as enrichment carriers but also be in favor of electron transport in the electrochemical detection. The NPB-modified electrode was fabricated for the simultaneous detection of catechol (CA) and hydroquinone (HQ) to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio and further improve the sensitivity. A detection limit as low as 37 and 47?nM was achieved for CA and HQ, respectively. The proposed strategy with the merits of high sensitivity, selectivity, and reproducibility exhibited a great potential for the detection.

        Protective association of Klotho rs495392 gene polymorphism against hepatic steatosis in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease patients

        Background/Aims: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is closely associated with metabolic dysfunction. Among the multiple factors, genetic variation acts as important modifiers. Klotho, an enzyme encoded by the klotho (KL) gene in human, has been implicated in the pathogenesis of metabolic dysfunctions. However, the impact of variants in KL on NAFLD risk remains poorly understood. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of KL rs495392 C>A polymorphism on the histological severity of NAFLD. Methods: We evaluated the impact of the KL rs495392 polymorphism on liver histology in 531 Chinese with NAFLD and replicated that in the population-based Rotterdam Study cohort. The interactions between the rs495392, vitamin D, and patatin-like phospholipase domain containing 3 (PNPLA3) rs738409 polymorphism were also analyzed. Results: Carriage of the rs495392 A allele had a protective effect on steatosis severity (odds ratio [OR], 0.61; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.42–0.89; P=0.010) in Chinese patients. After adjustment for potential confounders, the A allele remained significant with a protective effect (OR, 0.66; 95% CI, 0.45–0.98; P=0.040). The effect on hepatic steatosis was confirmed in the Rotterdam Study cohort. Additional analysis showed the association between serum vitamin D levels and NAFLD specifically in rs495392 A allele carriers, but not in non-carriers. Moreover, we found that the rs495392 A allele attenuated the detrimental impact of PNPLA3 rs738409 G allele on the risk of severe hepatic steatosis. Conclusions: The KL rs495392 polymorphism has a protective effect against hepatic steatosis in patients with NAFLD.

        Improving the Capture-range Problem in Phase-diversity Phase Retrieval for Laser-wavefront Measurement Using Geometrical-optics Initial Estimates

        To overcome the capture-range problem in phase-diversity phase retrieval (PDPR), a geometricaloptics initial-estimate method is proposed to avoid a local minimum and to improve the accuracy of laser-wavefront measurement. We calculate the low-order aberrations through the geometrical-optics model, which is based on the two spot images in the propagation path of the laser, and provide it as a starting guess for the PDPR algorithm. Simulations show that this improves the accuracy of wavefront recovery by 62.17% compared to other initial values, and the iteration time with our method is reduced by 28.96%. That is, this approach can solve the capture-range problem.

      • Application of CFD to the Calculation of 2 Phase Cryogenic Heat Transfer Processes

        A two-phase numerical model for plate-fin heat exchangers with plain fins and wave fins is studied incorporating the thermodynamic properties and the characteristics of fluid flow. The numerical simulations for the two fins in cryogenic conditions are carried out by employing a homogenous two-phase flow model with the CFD code ANSYS CFX. The heat transfer coefficients and the friction factor for nitrogen saturated vapor condensation process inside two types of plate fin heat exchanger are evaluated including the effects of saturation temperature (pressure), mass flow rate and inlet vapor quantity. The convective heat transfer coefficients and friction factors will be used for design of plate-fin type heat exchangers operating under cryogenic conditions.

      • Predicting Non Performing Loan of Business Bank with Data Mining Techniques

        The non-performing loans (NPL) prediction plays an important role in business bank. However, there is still a large gap between the requirement of prediction performance and current techniques. In this paper data mining approaches is used to predict the NPL. Both macroeconomic and bank-specific variables are collected to form the feature set firstly. Based on selected features, the study firstly applies single basic classifiers such as decision tree, k nearest neighbors and support vector machine (SVM) to model the problem of NPL. Bagging and AdaBoost are described in this paper as two different method of multiple classifier fusion, to build prediction models. In this experiment, non-performing loans data with 96 features and 10415 instances of a business bank is collected. F-mean and The Area under the ROC Curve (AUC) are considered as metrics of classification. The results illustrate that multiple classifier fusion algorithms outperform single basic classifier. The model built by multiple classifiers fusion can produce better prediction results. Furthermore, the AdaBoost method performs much better than bagging method in processing NPL.
