( Jiayi Wang ),( Brian H. Yim ),( Philip Wang ) 아시아스포츠융합과학회 2020 Asia Pacific Journal of Applied Sport Sciences Vol.1 No.2

PURPOSE In this globalizing world, sporting events play an important role in improving the attractiveness and competitiveness of a city. Cleveland’s continuously increasing sports offering is making the city an appealing travel destination to wider groups of tourists. Brand personality theory provides the theoretical support for the present study. The purpose of the study is to test the brand personality framework in the context of sports tourism, explore the brand personality of Cleveland as a sports destination, and apply the theory into destination marketing. METHOD A mixed method of focus group interview (N=16) and survey (N=96, data were collected through Amazon Mechanical Turk) were conducted. Ten brand personality traits of sports destination Cleveland were generated from the focus group. Multiple regression analyses were conducted to analyze the relationship between interest in Cleveland attractions and intention to visit Cleveland regarding the attractiveness of Cleveland’s sporting events (H1), the attractiveness of Cleveland sporting events (Questionnaire Section B) and intention to visit Cleveland (H2), and Cleveland destination personality and intention to visit Cleveland (H3). RESULT leveland’s brand personality traits were identified such as athletic, passionate, exciting, friendly, and hardworking. The results of the multiple linear regression showed that there is relationship between attraction and visit intention to Cleveland. As found in previous studies, sporting events enhance tourism industry’s performance. CONCLUSION This paper examined a city’s brand personality as a sport destination and found how they can predict sport tourists’ perception of the city and their intention to visit.

Helicobacter pylori-Induced Progranulin Promotes the Progression of the Gastric Epithelial Cell Cycle by Regulating CDK4

        Ren Zongjiao,Li Jiayi,Du Xianhong,Shi Wenjing,Guan Fulai,Wang Xiaochen,Wang Linjing,Wang Hongyan 한국미생물·생명공학회 2022 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.32 No.7

Helicobacter pylori, a group 1 carcinogen, colonizes the stomach and affects the development of stomach diseases. Progranulin (PGRN) is an autocrine growth factor that regulates multiple cellular processes and plays a tumorigenic role in many tissues. Nevertheless, the mechanism of action of PGRN in gastric cancer caused by H. pylori infection remains unclear. Here, we investigated the role of PGRN in cell cycle progression and the cell proliferation induced by H. pylori infection. We found that the increased PGRN was positively associated with CDK4 expression in gastric cancer tissue. PGRN was upregulated by H. pylori infection, thereby promoting cell proliferation, and that enhanced level of proliferation was reduced by PGRN inhibitor. CDK4, a target gene of PGRN, is a cyclin-dependent kinase that binds to cyclin D to promote cell cycle progression, which was upregulated by H. pylori infection. We also showed that knockdown of CDK4 reduced the higher cell cycle progression caused by upregulated PGRN. Moreover, when the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway (which is promoted by PGRN) was blocked, the upregulation of CDK4 mediated by PGRN was reduced. These results reveal the potential mechanism by which PGRN plays a major role through CDK4 in the pathological mechanism of H. pylori infection.

Comparison of the Distribution Pattern of 21-Gene Recurrence Score between Mucinous Breast Cancer and Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma in Chinese Population: A Retrospective Single-Center Study

        Jiayi Wu,Shuning Ding,Linling Yin,Xiaochun Fei,Caijin Lin,Lisa Andriani,Chihwan Goh,Jiahui Huang,Jin Hong,Weiqi Gao,Siji Zhu,Hui Wang,Ou Huang,Xiaosong Chen,Jianrong He,Yafen Li,Kunwei Shen,Weiguo Che 대한암학회 2020 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.52 No.3

Purpose This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the distribution pattern and prognostic value of 21-gene recurrence score (RS) in Chinese patients with mucinous breast cancer (MC) and compared with infiltrating ductal carcinoma (IDC). Materials and Methods Patients diagnosed with MC or IDC from January 2010 to January 2017 were retrospectively recruited. Reverse transcriptase–polymerase chain reaction assay of 21 genes was conducted to calculate the RS. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to assess the association between RS and clinicopathological factors. Survival outcomes including disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) were estimated by Kaplan-Meier method and compared by log-rank test. Results The MC cohort included 128 patients and the IDC cohort included 707 patients. The proportions of patients with a low (RS < 18), intermediate (18-30), or high risk (RS > 30) were 32.0%, 48.4%, and 19.5% in MC cohort, and 26.9%, 46.8% and 26.3% in IDC cohort. The distribution of RS varied significantly according to different Ki-67 index and molecular subtype in both cohorts. Moreover, the receipt of chemotherapy was associated with RS in both cohorts. Among patients with MC, tumor stage was related to the DFS (p=0.040). No significant differences in DFS and OS were found among MC patients in different RS risk groups (OS, p=0.695; DFS, p=0.926). Conclusion RS was significantly related to Ki-67 index and molecular subtypes in MC patients, which is similar in IDC patients. However, RS was not able to predict DFS and OS in patients with MC.

Surface Texture Transformation in Micro-Cutting of AA6061-T6 with the Rehbinder Effect

Jiayi Zhang,Yan Jin Lee,Hao Wang 한국정밀공학회 2021 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.8 No.4

The Rehbinder effect (R-effect) on microcutting has been successful to augment machinability of ductile metals; however, there is a lack in understanding of its influence on texture evolution in the machined surfaces. This study validates the R-eff ect on AA6061-T6 and characterises the influence of the R-effect on the texture transformation in the machined surface. Microhardness tests reveal that the R-effect produces softer surfaces (87–96 HV) as compared with the surfaces produced conventionally (96–108 HV), which is attributed to the differences in grain types. A large fraction of substructured grains (96.4%) exists in the surfactant-affected subsurface while a higher proportion of deformed grains (42.8%) forms during conventional microcutting. In addition, the main texture components of the conventionally produced surface are Cube, Goss and S textures, which differ from the dominant volumes of Copper and R textures under the R-effect. The differences are results of the stress states induced during microcutting, which is exemplified through numerical simulations that consider the reduction in fracture toughness of the material with the R-effect. The advanced understanding of the R-effect better positions the use of surfactants as a cleaner near-dry metalworking fluid.

Experimental Studies on Bond Performance of BFRP Bars Reinforced Coral Aggregate Concrete

        Lei Wang,Zhaoping Song,Jin Yi,Jiayi Li,Feng Fu,Kai Qian 한국콘크리트학회 2019 International Journal of Concrete Structures and M Vol.13 No.7

Basalt fiber reinforced polymer (BFRP) rebars reinforced coral aggregate concrete is a new type of concrete used in ocean engineering. In order to investigate the bond performance between BFRP rebars and coral concrete, 30 pullout tests were carried out in 10 groups with different diameters of BFRP rebars, bonding lengths and strength of the coral concrete. The results show that good bonding between BFRP rebars and coral concrete were achieved. The main failure modes can be categorized as BFRP rebars pull out destruction, splitting failure of coral concrete and BFRP rebars fracture. The bond slip ( τ -s ) curves of the BFRP rebars and coral concrete were obtained during the tests. It was found to be similar to the common concrete using fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) bars. The bond-slip relation can be roughly divided into micro-slip phase, slip phase, decline phase, and the residual stress stage. The bond between BFRP rebars and coral concrete increases with the increase of the bond length and diameter of BFRP rebars, but the average bond stress will decrease. Moreover, increasing the strength of coral concrete is effective to improve the bond performance of BFRP rebars. In this paper, the continuous bond slip model (Gao et al. in J Zhengzhou Univ 23:1.5, 2002) was used to represent the τ -s constitutive relationship of BFRP rebars and coral concrete. The analysis show that the proposed model has a high degree of accuracy in representing τ -s curve of BFRP rebars and coral concrete.

Novel high‑power triple line‑voltage cascaded unity power factor rectifier

        Cong Wang,Xia Liu,Zhuang Li,Hong Cheng,Ting Chen,Jiayi Kong 전력전자학회 2023 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.23 No.1

A novel high-power triple line-voltage cascaded three-phase unity power factor rectifier is proposed to address the complex topology and control of the three-phase rectifier stage in traditional high-power charging power supply modules. The topology is composed of three line-voltage cascaded traditional three-phase single-switch boost-type voltage rectifier modules. With the triple line-voltage cascaded structure, in the proposed topology, the number of the fully controlled power switches and the voltage stresses of each power switch are both effectively reduced. In addition, the proposed rectifier topology can operate at a unity power factor with a sinusoidal input current. In this paper, the circuit structure and the operation principle including the DC-link voltages output characteristics of the proposed topology are described, and a corresponding system control strategy based on one cycle control (OCC) is presented. Simulation and experimental results are given which verified the feasibility of the proposed topology and control strategy.

Measuring affective and cognitive empathy among Korean and Chinese adolescents: translating and validating the empathy scale

        Park Soowon,Wang, Jiayi,최병호 서울대학교 교육연구소 2021 Asia Pacific Education Review Vol.22 No.4

This study translates and validates the empathy scale of the How I Feel in Diferent Situations Questionnaire. Out of 1010 Korean (n=558) and Chinese (n=452) middle school students, 342 (Korean=191 and Chinese=151) and 668 students (Korean=367 and Chinese=301) participated in Studies 1 and 2, respectively. The exploratory factor analysis for Study 1 showed that the scale consisted of two factors, which included both afective and cognitive empathy in both the Korean and Chinese samples. The confrmatory factor analysis for Study 2 also confrmed the two-factor structure and the metric invariances across nationality (Korean, Chinese), gender (female, male), and grade (7th, 8th, 9th). Both afective and cognitive empathy were positively associated with pro-social behavior and perceived social preferences. The results indicate that the translated empathy scale was valid. Further, the same underlying constructs are being measured across nationality, gender, and grade. The distinguishing framework of the afective and cognitive empathy is applicable to Korean and Chinese samples. Understanding the students’ empathy measured by the translated scale will help to understand their pro-social behavior and perceived social preferences.

        Junbo Feng,Haiyuan Liu,Jiayi Chen,Jiyuan Wang,Zhuang Liu,Shenglin Ge 대한심장학회 2016 Korean Circulation Journal Vol.46 No.3

Background and Objectives: To explore the lung-protective effect of levosimendan (LS) during cardiopulmonary bypass in a canine modelby determining the wet/dry weight (W/D) ratio of lung tissue, malonaldehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) concentrations, andperforming a histological evaluation. Materials and Methods: Thirty-two canines were divided randomly into four groups and underwent a routine aortic cross-clampingcardiopulmonary bypass procedure for 1 h, followed by recovery for 2 h. Animals were handled as follows: group C (means controlgroup), no special treatment after aortic cross clamping; group P (means pulmonary artery perfusion group), pulmonary artery perfusionwith cold oxygenated blood after aortic cross clamping; group LSIV (means intravenous injection of LS group), intravenous injection of LS(65 μg/kg) before thoracotomy, and the rest of the procedure was identical to the control group; group LPS (means pulmonary perfusionwith LS group), pulmonary perfusion with cold oxygenated blood combined with LS (65 μg/kg) after aortic cross clamping. Lung tissueswere removed and subjected to evaluation of pathological alterations, W/D ratio and MDA and SOD concentrations. Results: In group C, the W/D ratio and MDA concentration were higher, while the SOD concentrations were lower (p<0.05). Comparedwith groups P and LSIV, the MDA concentration was lower in group LPS, while that of SOD was higher (p<0.05); Light and electronmicroscopy indicated that LS intervention reduced impairment of lung tissues. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that LS plays an important role in protecting lung tissues.

Establishment and validation of five autophagy-related signatures for predicting survival and immune microenvironment in glioma

        Zhao Zijun,Wu Yue,Wang Zairan,Xu Jiayi,Wang Yizheng,Zhao Zongmao 한국유전학회 2022 Genes & Genomics Vol.44 No.1

Background: Gliomas, especially Glioblastoma multiforme, are the most frequent type of primary tumors in central nervous system. Increasing researches have revealed the relationship between autophagy and tumor, while the molecular mechanism of autophagy in glioma is still rarely reported. Objective: Our research aims to conform the autophagy-related genes (ARGs) implicated in the development and progression of glioma and improve our understanding of autophagy in glioma. Methods: 20 candidate ARGs were screened through the protein-protein interaction network. We also downloaded the publicly accessible glioma data for 665 individuals from TCGA and 970 individuals from CGGA with RNA sequences and clinicopathological information. Subsequently, univariate and multivariate Cox regression analysis identified 5 key ARGs among the 20 candidate genes as key prognostic genes for survival, GSEA and immune response analysis. Results: ATG5, BCL2L1, CASP3, CASP8, GAPDH were identified as key ARGs in our research. Further studies showed that the high-risk population was linked to a dismal prognosis and suggested an immune-inhibitory microenvironment. GSEA results demonstrated that high risk population was closely related to DNA repair, hypoxia pathways, implicated in immunosuppression and carcinogenesis. Through CMap, we finally identified 14 candidate drugs for the ARG high risk population. Conclusions: This study established and verified an ARG risk model, which can serve as an independent predictor for prognosis, reflect on the strength of the immune response and predict the potential drugs in glioma. Our findings offer new understandings of ARG molecular mechanism and promising therapeutic targets for glioma treatment.
