      • User-Centric Study on the Design and Application of Visualized Elector Health Records

        XU JIAYI,Younghwan Pan 한국HCI학회 2024 한국HCI학회 학술대회 Vol.2024 No.1

This research examines the challenges and intentions associated with the use of personal electronic health records (EHRs), with a particular focus on how digital health literacy influences EHR engagement. The assessment of consumers digital literacy evaluates whether information visualization can improve user interaction with EHRs. As the digital health literacy of Chinese residents increases, personal health reports become essential for health promotion activities post-health checkups. However, despite the widespread adoption of personal health reports, users needs for understanding health data are often neglected. This study highlights the importance of integrating digital literacy with health literacy, which is crucial for making informed health decisions. The paper indicates that welldesigned visualizations can bridge the gap in understanding across different levels of literacy and could potentially increase satisfaction with the use of personal health reports. It proposes that user-friendly visual presentations of health data may encourage better engagement in personal health management and promotion activities.

Rapid quantitative typing spectra model for distinguishing sweet and bitter apricot kernels

        Xue Huang,Jiayi Xu,Feng Gao,Hongyan Zhang,Ling Guo 한국식품과학회 2022 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.31 No.9

Amygdalin content in apricot kernels is an essential factor in the rapid and nondestructive identification of sweet or bitter apricot kernels through spectroscopy. Now, amygdalin content has been determined by high-performance liquid chromatography and near-infrared spectral database to construct a model so that the sweet or bitter apricot kernels could be identified and classified. Principal component analysis–K-nearest neighbor classification algorithm combined with multivariate scattering correction pretreatment method could distinguish sweet and bitter apricot kernels in the wavelength range of 1650–1740 nm with 98.3% accuracy and apricot kernel species with 96.3% recognition rate in the full wavelength spectrum. Furthermore, prediction of amygdalin content in bitter and sweet apricot kernels by partial least squares model was superior to that by back-propagation neural network model. This study provides a theoretical basis for quality identification of apricot kernel quality, as well as a method for nondestructive and rapid detection of sweet and bitter apricot kernels.

Emulsifying properties of different soy hull pectin polysaccharides and application in mayonnaise

        Jun Li,Huaitian Cui,Xinyue Xu,Jiayi Li,Miaomiao Lu,Xijie Guan,Danshi Zhu,He Liu 한국식품과학회 2022 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.31 No.6

Soy hull pectic polysaccharide (SHPP) is a kindof biological macromolecule prepared from soy hull, whichhas certain thickening and gel properties. In present study,SHPP was extracted with citric acid and sodium citratefrom soybean hulls under the assistance of microwave, respectively. SHPPs were then compared with commercialpectin polysaccharide to test their emulsification ability. The emulsion prepared from SHPP extracted with sodiumcitrate has the best emulsifying effect, small particle sizeand uniform distribution. The rheological properties andparticle size distribution of mayonnaise did not changesignificantly after the addition of different SHPPs andcommercial pectin polysaccharides. However, microscopicobservations revealed that the droplets were more uniformlydistributed in the mayonnaise after the addition ofSHPP extracted with sodium citrate under the assistance ofmicrowave and commercial pectin APC141. SHPPextracted with sodium citrate may play an important role inmaintaining emulsion stability in the future.

Comparative transcriptome analyses provide insights into the adaptation mechanisms to acute salt stresses in juvenile Sinonovacula constricta

        Bin Ma,Zhaoshou Ran,Xiaorong Xu,Jilin Xu,Kai Liao,Jiayi Cao,Xiaojun Yan 한국유전학회 2019 Genes & Genomics Vol.41 No.5

Background Sinonovacula constricta is an economically important bivalve species in China, Korea and Japan that widely resides in estuarine and coastal areas where salinity fluctuates rapidly. However, little is known about its adaptation mechanisms to acute salt stresses. Objective To reveal the underlying molecular mechanisms involved in acute salt stresses in juvenile S. constricta. Methods Nine cDNA libraries (triplicate each trial) were established from juvenile S. constricta, which were subjected to low salinity (5 psu), optimal salinity (15 psu) and high salinity (25 psu) for 6 h, respectively. Results Illumina sequencing generated 478,587,310 clean reads totally, which were assembled into 427,057 transcripts of 246,672 unigenes. Compared with the control, 1259 and 2163 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified under acute low and high salt stresses, respectively. GO and KEGG enrichment analyses of DEGs revealed that several key metabolic modulations were mainly responsible for the acute salt stresses. According to the significantly highlighted KEGG pathways, some key DEGs were identified and discussed in details. Notably, based on which, some potential osmolytes were further speculated. Conclusion Here, we carried out a unique report of comparative transcriptome analyses in juvenile S. constricta in response to acute salt stresses. The identified DEGs and their significantly enriched GO terms and KEGG pathways were critical for understanding and further investigating the underlying the physical and biochemical performances, and ultimately facilitated S. constricta breeding. Besides, the transcriptome data greatly enriched the genetic information of S. constricta, which were valuable for promoting its molecular biology researches.

Establishment and validation of five autophagy-related signatures for predicting survival and immune microenvironment in glioma

        Zhao Zijun,Wu Yue,Wang Zairan,Xu Jiayi,Wang Yizheng,Zhao Zongmao 한국유전학회 2022 Genes & Genomics Vol.44 No.1

Background: Gliomas, especially Glioblastoma multiforme, are the most frequent type of primary tumors in central nervous system. Increasing researches have revealed the relationship between autophagy and tumor, while the molecular mechanism of autophagy in glioma is still rarely reported. Objective: Our research aims to conform the autophagy-related genes (ARGs) implicated in the development and progression of glioma and improve our understanding of autophagy in glioma. Methods: 20 candidate ARGs were screened through the protein-protein interaction network. We also downloaded the publicly accessible glioma data for 665 individuals from TCGA and 970 individuals from CGGA with RNA sequences and clinicopathological information. Subsequently, univariate and multivariate Cox regression analysis identified 5 key ARGs among the 20 candidate genes as key prognostic genes for survival, GSEA and immune response analysis. Results: ATG5, BCL2L1, CASP3, CASP8, GAPDH were identified as key ARGs in our research. Further studies showed that the high-risk population was linked to a dismal prognosis and suggested an immune-inhibitory microenvironment. GSEA results demonstrated that high risk population was closely related to DNA repair, hypoxia pathways, implicated in immunosuppression and carcinogenesis. Through CMap, we finally identified 14 candidate drugs for the ARG high risk population. Conclusions: This study established and verified an ARG risk model, which can serve as an independent predictor for prognosis, reflect on the strength of the immune response and predict the potential drugs in glioma. Our findings offer new understandings of ARG molecular mechanism and promising therapeutic targets for glioma treatment.
