        백서에 있어서 incision 중지가 하악두 연골의 성장 및 미세구조에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of loss of incisal function on the thickness, growth activities, ultrastructure of the condylar cartilage and on the muscle fibers of masseter superficialis, anterior belly of digastric muscle in the growing rats. 37 day-old-rats of which incisors had been trimmed every day received soft diet from weaning and were studied by the autoradiography, electron microscopy and muscle histochemistry. The results obtained were as follows ; The thickness of the fibrous, proliferative layer in superior, posterosuperior portion of the condylar cartilage was significantly(p<0.01) reduced in experimental groups and the decrease rate of fibrous layer thickness was greater in posterosuperior portion than in superior portion of cartilge and was greater than in proliferative layer. In normal group, more cells of posterosuperior portion moved more rapidly towards the medullary cavity. In experimental group, the labelling index of posterosuperior portion was decreased in proliferative layer at 2 hours, in transitional layer at 1, 2 days, in hypertrophic layer at 4 days after injection relative to posterosuperior portion of control group. But labelling index of superior portion was not different form that of control group at all time course after injection. From the muscle histochemistry, the diameter of type IIB fibers in masseter superficialis muscle, type ⅡA, type IIB fibers in anterior belly of digastric muscle decreased significantly(p<0.01) relative to controls in experimental group. From electron microscopic study, in the fibrous layer of the posterosuperior portion of condylar cartilage in normal group, many fibroblast like cells near the joint cavity showed extensive remodelling activities in ultrastructure. There was no morphological changes between experimental and control group in all cartilage cell layers of superior portion but cells near the joint cavity in fibrous layer of posterosuperior portion of experimental group showed morphologically inactive state relative to control group.

        Consideration of Diluents Selection and Input Amounts of the Hunter Process for Tantalum Production

        Tantalum (Ta) is a heavy refractory metal with an atomic weight of 180.95 g/mol, a density of 16.6 g/cm3, and a high meltingpoint of 3017 °C. With its refractory characteristics, it shows excellent chemical and physical stability as well as corrosionand heat resistance at elevated temperatures. The demand for Ta metal and related compounds is increasing with the expansionof the electronics and chemical industries. The Hunter process was proven to be effective in producing Ta powder in1953. Hunter proposed a method in which potassium heptafluorotantalate (K2TaF7) was reduced by sodium (Na). Thus far,this process has been the primary commercial method to produce Ta powder. In this study, quantitative differences wereanalyzed for diluent selection. Additionally, consideration was given to changes in the caloric value depending on the inputamount of diluents. Finally, the optimum material input and the properties of the prepared Ta were analyzed. Stoichiometricratios of K2TaF7(1 mol), NaCl (6.2–6.7 mol), Na (5–7 mol) were weighed, to perform a metallothermic reduction reaction. After the reaction, the tantalum powder was recovered and the flush process was carried out. After that, it was dried in avacuum atmosphere. Physical properties such as oxygen concentration, PSA, ICP-OES, and XRD of powder were conductedto evaluate the characteristics of Ta powder that was finally manufactured.

      • Rutile 단결정의 굴절율 및 C-축 향위 측정에 관한 연구

        The refractive index of grown rutile single crystal is measured by the method of minimum deviation and the orientation of C-axis is determined from the results. The refractive index for ordinary-ray is ω=2.614, for extraordinary-ray ξ=2.866, the birefringence of rutile single crystal amount to 0.252 and the angle difference between bisecting pane of prism and optical C-axis Δ_1=1。9'36". These results are reasonable agreement with other literature.

      • 최근 5년간 급성 A형 간염으로 입원한 환자들에 대한 입원 내용 분석

        Abstract Background : Due to improvements in Korea's sanitary conditions, antibody rates to the hepatitis A virus is decreasing rapidly and admission due to the disease is increasing, Patients who were admitted for hepatitis A during the last 5 years were selected and yearly differences in admission, clinical picture, medical fees, and differences according to age and gender were analyzed. Methods : Patients who were admitted to the Seoul Soonchunhyang University Hospital during the 5 year period between May of 2003 and April of 2008 and tested positive for IgM anti-HAV were selected and their medical records retrospectively analyzed. Results : 156 subjects [91 male (58%), 65 female (42%) were selected. The average age was 29.2 years (range; 21.4-37), average admission period 12.6 days (range; 12.5-1 7.7) days, and average medical fees 2,295,151 (range; 932,097-3,658,205) KRW(Korean Won), Yearly incidence rates were as follows : 10 for May, 2003 to April, 2004, 14 for May, 2004 to April, 2005, 23 for May, 2005 to April, 2006, 69 for May, 2006 to April, 2007, and 41 for May, 2007 to April, 2008, The maximum value median of AST, ALT, and bilirubin during admission was 989 IU/L, 1999 IU/L, and 5.6 mg/dL each, Each factors were all positively correlated with the patient's age. Conclusions : Recent decrease in antibody positivity of the hepatitis A virus and subsequent surge of acute hepatitis A is a cause of rising socioeconomic costs. A large scale epidemiologic research on whether HAV vaccination should be made mandatory and health insurance applied seems to be needed. Key words : Hepatitis A, Age, Medical fees, Vaccination

        실험적 치아이동에 의한 백서 치주인대내 CGRP 면역 양성 신경섬유의 변화

        교정력에 의하여 치주인대내에 생긴 압박측에서는 국소적 염증반응과 골 흡수가 활발히 일어나며 신장측은 골 생성이 활발하므로 뒤 두 부위는 서로 다른 조직반응이 일어난다. 치아이동에 관여하는 것으로 알려진 CGRP 면역 양성 신경섬유도 압박 및 신장 부위에 따라 다를 것으로 생각된다. 저자등은 CGRP 면역 양성 신경섬유의 교정력 적용시간에 따른 변화를 관찰하고 압박 및 신장력을 받는 부위에 따른 변화를 관찰하기 위하여 200gm 내외의 생후 9주령 백서 상악 제1 대구치에 Ni-Ti coil spring으로 80gm내외의 교정력을 12시간, 1일, 3일, 7일, 12일동안 가한 후 희생하여 면역 조직화학법으로 염색하여 관찰하였다. · 교정력 적용 12시간 및 1일군에서 압박 및 신장측 모두에서 CGRP 면역 양성 신경섬유가 감소되었다. · 교정력 적용 3일군에서 CGRP 면역 양성 신경섬유는 많은 가는 분지가 관찰되며 증가되었고 특히 신장측에서 현저하였다. · 교정력 적용 7일군에서 비교적 굵은 CGRP 면역 양성 신경섬유도 증가 되었으며 신장측에서 현저하였다. · 교정력 적용 12일군에서 압박측 치주인대에서는 거의 정상과 유사하였으나 신장측치주인대에서는 증가된 채 유지되었다. · CGRP 면역 양성 신경섬유는 압박측보다 신장측에서 더 많이 증가하여 치아이동시 CGRP가 말초조직에서 염증반응에 관여함과 동시에 골 개조에도 상당한 연관성을 가지고 있을 것으로 생각된다. Bone resorption was predominate in compression site, bone formation in tension site of periodontal ligament during tooth movement. The biologic response at compression site was different from tension site. Thus the CGRP immuno-positive nerve fiber will respond differently to mechanical force according to the area(compression or tension site). The purpose of this study was to investigate this response of CGRP immuno-positive nerve fiber in the periodontal ligament according to the duration of applied force and the area (compression or tension site) during experimental tooth movement. The experimental animals were 7 week old male rat (approximately 200 gm). The orthodontic force was applied mesially to the right maxillary molar using the Ni-Ti coil spring during 12hours, 1, 3, 7, and 12days. Immunohistochemical staining using antibody against CGRP was performed after sacrifice. The results were as follows. The CGRP immuno-positive nerve bundle showed reduced immunoreactivity and nerve fibers reduced in density after application of orthodontic force for 12 hours and 1day. The CGRP immuno-positive nerve fibers showed many thin branches at the apical periodontal ligament after application of force for 3 days as compared with normal. The tension site in the apical periodontal ligament showed more branches than the compression site. In 7 day group, the CGRP immuno-positive nerve fibers increased in terms of the number and had many thin branches in the apical periodontal ligament. The tension site had more branches than the compression site. In 12 day group, the CGRP immuno-positive nerve fibers showed similar distribution to normal control at compression site of apical periodontal ligament, but the fibers at the tension site increased in number. The CGRP immuno-positive nerve fibers showed more increased at tension site than compression site after application of orthodontic force. Therefore it seems to have some relation to the bone remodeling besides the local inflammatory process.
