[Machiavelli] never was a hypocrite. The great teacher of political trickery was perhaps one of the most sincere political writers. He portrayed the customs, the ways of thinking and acting of his own times. We must not forget that [Herder] do clared that it was a mistake to regard [Machiavelli's prince] either as a satire or as pernicious book on politics or as a hydrid of these two things. In order to understand [Prince] we must bear in mind the special condition under which Machiavelli's political and social life. [Machiavelli] wrote for Italy even for his own epoch, but for the his political Thought. That is to say, From a few e examples taken from ancient or mordern history, He immediately drew the most farreaching conclusion. We must see that machiavelli's prince was riot his intention to describe his own personal experiences or to speak to a special public. We see [Prince] as Machiavelli really was a fervent patriot, a loyal friend, and a man devoted to his nations and state. Yet if we read all these personal circumstances into his book we are mistaken, we fail to see both its fundamental merits and defects. It is not only the prejudice of [Prince] but also love of [Prince] that has often confused our judgement. Machiavelli's logic is impercable and coherent and enlightenment. In the last chapter of the [Prince] Machiavelli discusses at great length his political Thought which is available not only to the Italians but also to the most dangerous enemies of Italy. In his analysis of Political actions he never give vent to any personal feeling of sympathy or antipathy. Machiavelli's prince was sincere and honest, but it was dictated by his conception of the meaning and task of theory of politics. Here such a hispolitical theory must describe and analyze; it cannot blame or praise. [Sedition] is indeed, forbidden by the Machiavelli's political and social thought. When speaking of Machiavelli's political Theory we must not understand this term in our modern sense. If we distance in political thought Machiavelli we must be God, and that we must have ardent patriotism. Wherein [The Prince] was a guide and lodestar in political and socialthought.
This paper presents a study on the assessment of electrical fire hazards by electric circuits with leakage. The hazards are evaluated with the energy supplied by earth-leakage currents which flow in the circuits simulating the actual circuit of domestic premises. Also, operating time and current of ELB are measured by an experimental approach. A common specification of ELB used in this paper has a sensitivity of 30[mA] for leakage current working on the current-balance principle. Total charges and energy of leakage currents are calculated quantitatively by a theoretical approach and compared with the results obtained from experiments.
This paper presents a study on the analysis of fire detection system using fuzzy logic with input variables of temperature and smoke density. The input variables for the fuzzy logic algorithm are measured by fire experiment of small scale with temperature detector and smoke detector. The antecedent part of fuzzy rules consists of temperature and smoke density, and the consequent part consists of fire possibility. Also the triangular fuzzy membership function is chosen for input variables and fuzzy rules to simplify computation. In order to calculate fuzzy values of such fuzzy system, a computer program is developed with Matlab based on graphics user interface. The experiment was conducted with paper and ethanol to simulate flaming fire and with plastic and sawdust to model smoldering fire. The results showed that the fire detection system presented here was able to diagnose fire very precisely. With the help of algorithms using fuzzy logic we could distinguish whether fire or not. 본 논문은 열과 연기농도를 입력변수로 갖는 퍼지로직을 적용한 화재감지시스템을 제시한 연구이다. 본 논문에서 제시한 화재감지시스템은 열과 연기농도를 입력신호로 받아들이고 이를 통하여 화재가능성이 추 론되는 퍼지추론시스템을 포함하고 있다. 이 추론시스템의 조건부(antecedent part)는 fuzzy 단일값 (singleton)으로 열과 연기농도가 입력되도록 하였고, 결론부(conclusion part)는 화재가능성으로 적용하였 다. 또한 퍼지추론을 위하여 적용된 membership함수는 삼각형 membership함수이다. 추론하는 방법은 Mamdani가 제안한 minimum 연산을 사용하였다. 그리고 이러한 계산을 위하여 Matlab 프로그램을 사용 하였고 이 프로그램을 이용하여 GUI(graphic user interface)기반의 화재감지프로그램을 개발하였다. 이와 같은 퍼지로직이 적용된 화재감지시스템의 신뢰성을 검증하기 위하여 불꽃화재와 훈소화재에 대한 실험 을 통하여 추론되는 화재가능성을 분석하였다. 그 결과 본 연구의 퍼지로직을 적용한 화재감지시스템은 연 소상황에 따라 비교적 정확하게 화재가능성을 추론하였다.
Several methods have been developed to predict the rupture time of the boiler tubes in thermal power plant. However, existing life prediction methods give very conservative value at operating stress of power plant and rupture strain cannot be well estimated. Therefore, in this study, rupture time and strain prediction method accounting for creep, corrosion and heat transfer is newly proposed and compared with the current research results. The creep damage evolves by continuous cavity nucleation and constrained cavity growth. The corrosion damage evolves by steam side and fire side corrosion. The results showed good correlation between the theoretically predicted rupture time and the current research results. And rupture strain may be well estimated by using the proposed method.
