        Genome-wide investigation of a Korean synthetic breed, Woori-Heukdon using the Illumina PorcineSNP60K BeadChip

        Background: Woori-Heukdon (KWH) is a Korean synthetic pig breed generated using Chookjin-Duroc (KCD), Chookjin-Chamdon (KCC), and their crossbreds. Currently, there is a severe lack of studies investigating the Korean breed populations including wild boars (KWB) throughout the genome. Objective: This study was performed to investigate the genetic characteristics of Korean pig populations at the genome-wide level. Methods: Using the SNP dataset derived from genotyped and downloaded datasets using the Illumina PorcineSNP60K BeadChip, we compared the genomes of 532 individuals derived from 23 pig breeds to assess the genetic diversity, inbreeding coefficient, genetic differentiation, and population structure. Results: KWB showed the lowest average expected heterozygosity (HE = 0.1904), while KWH showed the highest genetic diversity (HE = 0.02859) among Korean populations. We verified that the genetic composition of KWH, showing USD of 74.8% and KCC of 25.2% in ADMIXTURE analysis. In population structure analyses, KCC was consistently shown to be separated from other pig populations. In addition, we observed gene flow from Western pigs to a part of Chinese populations. Conclusion: This study showed that Korean native pigs, KCC have genetic differences in comparison with Chinese and Western pigs; despite some historical records and recent genetic studies, we could not find any clear evidence that KCC was significantly influenced by Chinese or Western breeds in this study. We also verified the theoretical genomic composition of KWH at the molecular level in structure analyses. To our knowledge, this is the first genomic study to investigate the genomic characteristics of KWH and KCC.

        소설의 재매개와 포스트휴먼의 형성-소설 ≪천룡팔부(天龍八部)≫에서 게임 ≪천룡팔부(天龍八部)3D≫까지-

        본고는 소설 《天龍八部》가 디지털 게임 《天龍八部3D》로 재매개(remediate)되는 과정을 추적하고, 그 과정 중에서 나타나는 미디어 판본의 차이를 밝힌다. 나아가 그 과정 속에서 새로운 주체, 즉 포스트휴먼이 등장하고 있다고 주장한다. This study starts with Jin Yong`s famous novel, < Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils >, or < Tianlongbabu >. But what I mainly discussed is not the novel itself, but a mobile game < Tianlongbabu3D >, which is based on the novel. I tried to find out what happened during the process of translating the novel into the game, and to explain what it means. One of my two main concept is `remediation`. When a new media emerges, people tend to think that this new media is going to completely replace the old one. But the invention of camera did not extinguish painters, and kindle did not replace paperback. In fact, picture and painting, e-book and actual book created a complex interaction, affecting each other. We call this interaction `remediation`. When a novel < Tianlongbabu > was transformed into a mobile game < Tianlongbabu3D >, this `remediation` happened. The game looks like it`s telling the same story as the novel did, but different media has different characteristic. For instance, in the game you can visit the same place as many times as you want, and beat enemies you couldn`t dream of beating in the novel. Next main concept is `posthuman`. By posthuman, I mean the change of the very concept of human being. To humanism subject, reason is very important. They have very clear `boundary`, which consists their `self`. But posthuman transcends above this boundary. They embrace `alien` things like metal arm or electric body parts, they do not exclude things that were considered to be outside of the boundary, like cyborg, robot or A.I.. I think what we see in the game < Tianlongbabu3D > is the emergence of posthuman. The playable character that the player controls is posthuman, and the player itself is also posthuman. Above the boundary of human/smartphone, the posthuman ascends. In short, through this study I found out that the remediation of novel by game produces new meanings and activities, and that the very concept of human self is shaking. Posthuman is already among us.

        Flurbiprofen 용매침착물의 용출특성에 관한 연구

        Dissolution characteristics of flurbiprofen solvent deposited on α-cyclodextrin, β-cyclodextrin, lactose and corn starch were studied to evaluate the pharmaceutical aspects of solvent deposition method where drug was solvent deposited on the surface of excipients. In a solvent deposition system, the drug to excipient ratio and kind of excipient affect much on dissolution rates of flurbiprofen. The solvent deposition system formation was confirmed by scanning electron microscope. By inereasing the amounts of matrix, it was possible to enhance the dissolution rate of flurbiprofen solvent deposition system. The amount of flurbiprofen dissolved from β-cyclodextrin deposition system (1 : 10) at 60 minutes was enhanced 6.5 times in water and 28 times in simulated gastric juice compared with flurbiprofen alone. Flurbiprofen solvent deposited system (1 : 10) enhanced dissolution rate greater than inclusion complex and dispersion system.

        Effects of photoperiod(23L or 24D) to the growth of the silkworn vegetable wasp and plant worm were investigated. Exposure of the fungi to 24L photoperiod for at least 3 days accelerated the formation of the spore, but the growth of the fruiting bodies was inhibited. On the contrary, 24D photoperiod inhibited the spore formation, but accelerated the growth of fruiting bodies. Accordingly to harvest high quality silkworm vegetable wasp and plant worm, it is suggested that recommendable light condition for production of longer fruiting bodies is 24D photoperiod during the cultivation.

        Serum leptin, glucose, lipid profiles (free fatty acid, triglyceride, total cholesterol) were determined in two groups of subjects undergoing long and short strenous cycle race, 8 men who fasted overnight and then pedaled 20km cycle race and 8 men, 150km cycle race, respectively, Blood samples were collected before race, immediately after cessation of race and 2hr, 6hr after the end of race period. Cyclist pedaling 20km cycle race and cyclist pedaling 150km cycle race showed no statistical differences in leptin level. After 6hr of rest, leptin concentrations were gradually decreased but showed no statistical different in both groups. Epinephrine (p〈.01) and norepinephrine (p〈.001) concentration in comparison to pre-race levels were increased significantly. But insulin concentration in comparison to pre-race levels were decreased significantly (p〈.001). Glucose (p〈.01), free fatty acid (p〈.001), cholesterol (p〈.001) and triglyceride (p〈.01) were increased immediately after cessation of race in both groups.

        昌德宮 樂善齋後園 一園의 立地와 空間構成에 關한 硏究

        This study aims to discuss the characteristics of location and spatial organization of the rear garden Naksonjae in Changdok palace. To do this, we studied in two ways; analysis of the present conditions and photographing, research materials about the form of physical structure and review of historical documents. The result of analysis in the sight of the location and spatial structure was good matched. At the beginning, the neighbor on rear garden Naksonjae only had spaces for the Crown Prince in Changdokkung but after 1847, shows transitional pattern that the king Hunjong’s private space and attached space were added. The spatial organization of the neighbor on rear garden Naksonjae was divided into entrance, madang, building, backyard, flower terrace, dongsan. In the neighbor on rear garden Naksonjae was imported borrowed scenery of surrounding landscape and while placed arranging various constituent elements of the small-scale building, decorated walls, small doors between walls, stoneworks and chimney in trying to formalize the landscape. The result of this study, the political and social, technical phenomena which constitute the physical construction pattern affected the locational property and the spatial organizaion of the neighbor on rear garden Naksonjae.

      • 발프로산나트륨과 페니토인과의 약물상호작용

        This study was attempted to investigate the pharmacokinetic interaction between sodium valproate (4. 8. 16 ㎎/㎏. i.v.) and phenytoin (4 ㎎/㎏. i.v) in rabbits. The plasma concentration and area under the curve (AUC) of phenytoin were increased significantly (p<0.05. p<0.01) when coadministered with sodium valproate (4. 8. 16 ㎎/㎏) in rabbits. The volume of distribution and total body clearance of phenytoin were decreased significantly (p<0.05. p<0.01) when coadministered with sodium valproate (8. 16 ㎎/㎏) in rabbit. From the results of this experiment. it is desirable that dosage regimen of phenytoin should be adjusted and therapeutic drug monitoring should be performed for reduction of side or toxic effect when phenytoin will be coadministered with sodium valproate in clinical use.

      • Pseudomonas aeruginosa 의 고온 충격 반응

        최적의 성장 온도가 37℃인 Pseudomonas aeruginosa를 고온 충격(heat shock)을 주기 위하여 45℃와 48℃에서 각각 배양하였고, 이때 생성된 단백질들의 조성을 sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(SDS-PAGE)를 이용하여 37℃에서 합성된 단백질들의 조성과 비교하였다. 실험을 수행한 45℃와 48℃에서 자란 균주가 37℃에서 자란 균주보다 적어도 3종류의 단백질(60kD, 68kD, 그리고 70kD)들을 더 많이 생성하였고 이들 단백질들은 고온에 의하여 생성된 잘못된 기능을 가진 단백질들을 세포내에서 제거하는 역할을 하고 있다. 같은 조건에 전사단계를 억제한 rifampicin 을 처리한 결과, 이들 단백질의 생성은 증가하지 않았다. 이상의 결과로 부터 45℃와 48℃에서 합성이 증가된 60kD, 68kD, 그리고 70kD의 단백질은 P. aeruginosa에서 고온 충격에 의해 전사단계에서 합성이 조절되는 고온 충격 단백질들임을 확인하였다. P. aeruginosa grows optimally at 37℃. When this strain has transferred to 45℃ or 48℃, the growth of the cell has been affected by the high temperature. Especially, some proteins(60kD, 68kD, and 70kD) were observed that those proteins were overexpressed to eliminate the malfunctional proteins, which were produced by high temperature in the cell. When the cell were grown at 45℃ or 48℃ with rifampicin, which is the transcription inhibitor, those effects were not observed. From these results, proteins produced from the culture conditions of 45℃ or 48℃ are clarified to be heat shock proteins which are regulated by the transcriptional level.
