        Guangming Yang,Lin Tan,Ya Shi,Suiping Wang,Xuxiao Lu,Huiping Bai,Yunhui Yang 대한화학회 2009 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.30 No.2

Polypyrrole (PPy) nanotubes have been synthesized by chemical oxidative polymerization of pyrrole within the pores of polycarbonate membrane using the technology of diffusion of solutes. The nanotubes array prepared by the proposed method can be considered as nanoelectrode ensembles (NEEs). An amperometric uric acid sensor based on PPy NEEs has been developed and used for determination of uric acid in human serum samples. The electrode can direct response to uric acid at potential of 0.60V vs. SCE with wide linear range of 1.52×10-6 to 1.54×10-3 M. The detection limit is 3.02×10-7 M. This sensor has been used to determine uric acid in real serum samples. PPy NEEs is thought of as a good application in the foreground.

Adsorption-coupled reduction of bromate by Fe(II)–Al(III) layered double hydroxide in fixed-bed column: Experimental and breakthrough curves analysis

        Qi Yang,Yu Zhong,Xiaoming Li,Xin Li,Kun Luo,Xiuqiong Wu,Hongbo Chen,Yang Liu,Guangming Zeng 한국공업화학회 2015 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.28 No.-

In this study, the bromate removal was investigated in continuous fixed-bed column using Fe(II)–Al(III)layered double hydroxide (LDH). With increase of column bed depth from 1.0 to 3.0 cm, breakpoint time(tb) increased from 51 to 175 h while throughput volume raised from 12.24 to 42.00 L at breakthroughpoint. The bromate removal was attributed to the reduction of Fe(II) present in LDH. The breakthroughcurve was simulated well by Thomas model, but BDST model was the only effective to initial part(1–10%). The maximum removal capacity (N0) calculated by Thomas model reached 71.01 mmol/g atflow rate (3 mL/min).

Microstructural and Mechanical Properties of TiCX–Ni3(Al,Ti)/Ni Functionally Graded Composites Fabricated from Ti3AlC2 and Ni Powders

        Guangming Zheng,Zhenying Huang,Qun Yu,Wenqiang Hu,Xingyang Qiu,A. Lixia,Yuanbo Wang,Yidan Jiao,Yang Zhou,Hongxiang Zhai 대한금속·재료학회 2020 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.26 No.6

In this paper, a novel type of functionally graded material (FGM) was successfully fabricated from pure Ni and Ti3AlC2powder mixtures by hot-press sintering route at 1200 °C and 17 MPa. In each layer, Ti3AlC2particles transformed into TiCxphase, while the additional Al–Ti atoms decomposed from Ti3AlC2diffused into the Ni matrix, giving rise to the formationof γ′-Ni3(Al,Ti). Part of the submicron TiCxand Ni3(Al,Ti) particles were uniformly distributed in the Ni matrix, whilesome of the TiCxmaintained the original Ti3AlC2plate-like morphology. Both TiCxand Ni3(Al,Ti) content decreased from60Ti3AlC2/Ni layer to 10Ti3AlC2/Ni layer in a stepwise manner was fabricated. The microstructural analysis indicatesthat no cracks, delamination and step-type abrupt changes occured in the graded layer of the manufactured FGM. Flexuralstrength and Vickers hardness enhanced with the increasing Ti3AlC2content except for fracture strain and toughness. Theoverall fracture toughness and the flexural strength of FGM can reach 21.76 MPa m1/2 and 1329 ± 34 MPa, respectively. Theprepared FGM, herein, with a hard ceramic surface on one side to resist local plastic deformation, and a ductile metallicsurface on the other side to provide toughness.

Exploring molecular mechanisms underlying the pathophysiological association between knee osteoarthritis and sarcopenia

        Jiyong Yang,Tao Jiang,Guangming Xu,Shuai Wang,Wengang Liu 대한골다공증학회 2023 Osteoporosis and Sarcopenia Vol.9 No.3

Objectives: Accumulating evidence indicates a strong link between knee osteoarthritis (KOA) and sarcopenia. However, the mechanisms involved have not yet been elucidated. This study primarily aims to explore the molecular mechanisms that explain the connection between these 2 disorders. Methods: The gene expression profiles for KOA and sarcopenia were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus database, specifically from GSE55235, GSE169077, and GSE1408. Various bioinformatics techniques were employed to identify and analyze common differentially expressed genes (DEGs) across the 3 datasets. The techniques involved the analysis of Gene Ontology and pathways to enhance understanding, examining proteinprotein interaction (PPI) networks, and identifying hub genes. In addition, we constructed the network of interactions between transcription factors (TFs) and genes, the co-regulatory network of TFs and miRNAs for hub genes, and predicted potential drugs. Results: In total, 14 common DEGs were found between KOA and sarcopenia. Detailed information on biological processes and signaling pathways of common DEGs was obtained through enrichment analysis. After performing PPI network analysis, we discovered 4 hub genes (FOXO3, BCL6, CDKN1A, and CEBPB). Subsequently, we developed coregulatory networks for these hub genes involving TF-gene and TF-miRNA interactions. Finally, we identified 10 potential chemical compounds. Conclusions: By conducting bioinformatics analysis, our study has successfully identified common gene interaction networks between KOA and sarcopenia. The potential of these findings to offer revolutionary understanding into the common development of these 2 conditions could lead to the identification of valuable targets for therapy. 1. Introduction Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a prevalent degenerative condition of the musculoskeletal system that predominantly impacts individuals in the middle-aged and older age groups. This progressive ailment gradually impairs the patient’s mobility and overall well-being [1,2]. The primary pathological feature of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) involves the breakdown and loss of articular cartilage. Different joint tissues are impacted to different extents, including remodeling of the subchondral bone, degeneration of the meniscus, weakening and looseness of ligaments, inflammation of the infrapatellar fat pad, and inflammation of the synovial membrane [2–5]. Furthermore, the presence of periarticular muscle atrophy plays a significant role in the progression of KOA. Decreased muscle strength can alter mechanical stress, reduce joint stability, and accelerate cartilage degeneration and abnormal subchondral bone changes [6–9]. Sarcopenia, which frequently coexists with KOA [10–12], is primarily characterized by the decline in both muscle mass and strengt

Identification of Hub Genes in the Pathogenesis of Ischemic Stroke Based on Bioinformatics Analysis

        Xitong Yang,Shanquan Yan,Pengyu Wang,Guangming Wang 대한신경외과학회 2022 Journal of Korean neurosurgical society Vol.65 No.5

Objective : The present study aimed to identify the function of ischemic stroke (IS) patients’ peripheral blood and its role in IS, explore the pathogenesis, and provide direction for clinical research progress by comprehensive bioinformatics analysis. Methods : Two datasets, including GSE58294 and GSE22255, were downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus database. GEO2R was utilized to obtain differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis of DEGs were performed using the database annotation, visualization and integrated discovery database. The protein-protein interaction (PPI) network of DEGs was constructed by search tool of searching interactive gene and visualized by Cytoscape software, and then the Hub gene was identified by degree analysis. The microRNA (miRNA) and miRNA target genes closely related to the onset of stroke were obtained through the miRNA gene regulatory network. Results : In total, 36 DEGs, containing 27 up-regulated and nine down-regulated DEGs, were identified. GO functional analysis showed that these DEGs were involved in regulation of apoptotic process, cytoplasm, protein binding and other biological processes. KEGG enrichment analysis showed that these DEGs mediated signaling pathways, including human T-cell lymphotropic virus (HTLV)-I infection and microRNAs in cancer. The results of PPI network and cytohubba showed that there was a relationship between DEGs, and five hub genes related to stroke were obtained : SOCS3, KRAS, PTGS2, EGR1, and DUSP1. Combined with the visualization of DEG-miRNAs, hsa-mir-16-5p, hsa-mir-181a-5p and hsa-mir-124-3p were predicted to be the key miRNAs in stroke, and three miRNAs were related to hub gene. Conclusion : Thirty-six DEGs, five Hub genes, and three miRNA were obtained from bioinformatics analysis of IS microarray data, which might provide potential targets for diagnosis and treatment of IS.

Energy Behavior of Sandstone Containing Weak Filling Joints with Multiple Angles under Dynamic Splitting Loads

        Qingqing Su,Guangming Chang,Fulian Yang,Fengyan Qin 대한토목학회 2024 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.28 No.1

The impact of weak filling joints with multiple angles on the energy dissipation mechanism is significant for surrounding rock engineering to prevent and mitigate disasters. In the present study, the sandstone samples containing weak filling joints were prefabricated, and dynamic splitting tests were conducted under three nominal loading rates with a modified Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar system. The effects of nominal loading rates and joint angles on time–based curves and energy–based curves were investigated systematically. The test results indicated that the nominal loading rate and joint angle had remarkable influences on energy dissipation characteristics. The sample containing a larger joint angle preferred brittle failure, whereas the sample with a smaller joint angle failed with a plastic feature. Moreover, the reflection energy decreased as the joint angle increased, which was opposite to the evolution tendencies of transmission energy and absorption energy. The transmission energy and absorption energy had different sensitivities to changes in joint angle and nominal loading rate. The exponential function could excellently describe the dependence of transmission energy, reflection energy, and absorption energy on joint angles. With the incremental joint angle, the energy reflection ratio had a contrary tendency to the energy transmission ratio.
