        Similar Model for Accurate Structural Vibration Analysis of Elevated Track-Box Girder Coupling System

        Model similarity experiment is an effective method to predict the vibration response of track-box girder structure under complex working conditions. In this paper, the coupling similarity relationship between the layers of the multilayer structure is deduced theoretically. In addition, according to the elasticity similarity law and the π theorem, a track-box girder coupling vibration model with a 10:1 geometric similarity ratio was designed. The influence of parameters on the system similarity was further discussed, including the density and elastic modulus of track plate, the stiffness of fastener and CA mortar layer. Finally, a scale track-box girder model was built. Based on the modal test and finite element method, the model design and the similarity relation between prototype and model were verified. The results show that the scale model can be employed to forecast vibrations for an elevated track bridge, and the vibration level under different working conditions can be inverted from the model test results in model design. When the geometry size of a certain structural layer in the direction of load is much larger than that of the other structural layers, the similarity relation derived from the material properties of the structural layer is approximately equal to the similarity of the system between the prototype and the scale model.

        浅论王羲之《快雪时晴帖》 平和淡雅之韵与其书法构成的关系

        王羲之의 여러 법첩 중에서도 “一帖一貌”라고 할 수 있으며, 《快雪时晴帖》은 매우 특별한 존재로, 이 작품은 매우 평화롭고 자연스러운 분위기를 풍기며, 격렬하지 않고, 멀리서 바람이 불어오는 듯한 모습을 지니고있다. 이 법첩은 다른 법첩들과는 차이점이 있다. 韩愈가 말한 “可喜可愕, 一寓于书”라는 말처럼, 서예 예술은 감정을 드러내는 예술 형태입니다. 이 법첩이 왜 이러한 모습을 보이는지, 우리는 필력, 구조, 장법 등 《쾌설시청첩》에서의 독특한 표현 형태를 분리 논하려 하며, 이를 통해 서예 기법과 감정 간의 관계를 이성적으로 살펴보고자 했다. 필력에 대한 논의에서는 시작과 마무리, 전환, 경중 변화 등의 세부 사항을 분석하여 필력의 형태와 감정 표현 간의 중요한 연관성을 논의하였으며, 결구 측면에서는 《쾌설시청첩》의 단어 구조와 소식, 미불, 왕탁 등의 비교 연구를 통해 《쾌설시청첩》의 결구적 안정성과 평온함을 직관적으로 관찰함으로써 구조 구성과 감정 표현 간의 관계를 논의하였다.         The infection frequencies and dynamics of three secondary endosymbionts in the laboratory environments on Sitobion avenae (Fabricius) as determined by long PCR

        Stable infections of maternally transmitted secondary endosymbionts in aphids are frequently found in field populations; however,whether this phenomenon changes in artificial lab conditions has not been clear. To investigate, (1): we collected Sitobion avenae (Fabricius) fromsix different regions and detected the three common secondary endosymbionts (Regiella insecticola, Hamiltonella defensa and Serratia symbiotica); (2): we raised Sitobion avenae fromChuzhou, Anhui for 14 months in the laboratory, and analyzed these aphids' DNA using the long PCR protocol after the 1stmonth, 3rdmonth, 5th month, 7thmonth, 9thmonth, 11thmonth, 12thmonth, 13thmonth and 14th month. The results showed that S. symbiotica and R. insecticola could be detected in all aphid populations,while H. defense were detected in three locations. After reared in the lab, the infection frequencies of Serratia symbiotica did not change across the 14 study months, but the infection frequencies of Regiella insecticola after the 9th month and of Hamiltonella defensa after the 11th month decreased significantly. Additionally, the results show that facultative endosymbiont infections may decline in artificial lab conditions, suggesting that temporal changes of endosymbionts may occur within the host under different environmental pressures. This result may partially explain why different geographic populations harbor a diverse variety of endosymbionts. The results of this study can be helpful in understanding the stability of secondary endosymbionts in Sitobion avenae under long-termreproduction in controlled laboratory conditions.

        Enhanced Supercapacitive Performance of Carbonized Polyaniline by Conducting Wrapping

        Functionalized carbon nanotubes (MWNT–COOH) was selected as conducting wrapping agent to prepare composites of MWNT–COOH and carbonized polyaniline (C–PANI), to improve the supercapacitive performance of C–PANI. The morphology was characterized by scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope which showed that C–PANI was trapped in the conductive network of MWNT–COOH. The electrochemical measurement results indicated the increased specific capacitance and enhanced cycling stability of C–PANI with the addition of MWNT–COOH. When the weight ratio of C–PANI and MWNT–COOH was 4:1, the specific capacitance of the composites was 149 F g-1, and the capacitance retention was 93.7% after 1000 charge–discharge cycling.

        Genetic parameter estimation for reproductive traits in QingYu pigs and comparison of carcass and meat quality traits to Berkshire×QingYu crossbred pigs

        Objective: The QingYu pig is well known for its excellent meat quality attributes in Sichuan province, China. In order to improve its production efficiency, the determination of genetic factors contributing to quantifiable economic traits of livestock is important. Moreover, the cross-breeding of QingYu pigs with western breeds possessing strong growth attributes is an efficient way to improve the performance of this breed. Methods: Here, the genetic parameters of several important reproductive traits of QingYu pigs were estimated, include total number born (TNB), number born alive, litter birth weight, individual birth weight, number of piglets weaned, litter weaning weight, and individual weaning weight. The data was analyzed using the ASReml 3.0 software (NSW Inc., Sydney, Australia). Furthermore, the effects of crossing Berkshire with QingYu (BQ) pigs on carcass and meat quality traits, as well as the effects of slaughter weight on carcass and meat quality of BQ were characterized. Results: QingYu pigs exhibited superior reproductive traits. The TNB available to QingYu pigs was more than 8 per parity. The observed repeatability of the reproductive traits of the QingYu pigs was between 0.10 and 0.23. The significantly correlated genetic and phenotypic of reproduction traits were consistent. Interestingly, the BQ pigs exhibited improved carcass quality, with a significant increase in loin muscle area, lean percentage and reduction in sebum percentage. As a result, BQ had higher L45min, lower cooking scores, and lower drip loss. In addition, the loin muscle area, body length, and sebum percentage were significantly higher in 90 and 100 kg animals. Cooking loss showed a significant increase at 80 kg, and marbling increased significantly from 90 kg. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that QingYu pigs exhibit excellent reproductive properties and heritability of these traits. Crossing with Berkshire is an efficient strategy to improve the carcass and meat quality of QingYu pigs for commercial operations. Furthermore, it appears as though the optimal slaughter weight of BQ pigs is at approximately 90 kg.

        Study of a hybrid modular exhaust turbocharging system and its application on an 8-cylinder marine diesel engine

        For turbocharging engines, the structure of the exhaust system directly affects the flow and energy transfer process of the exhaust gas, which has a big influence on the turbocharger performance. To evaluate the performance of various kinds of exhaust systems, two indicators, “available energy loss coefficient” and “pressure wave interference coefficient”, are proposed to evaluate the steady flow loss and transient flow anti-interference characteristics. Two kinds of exhaust system modular, Modular pulse converter (MPC) and Modular multi-purpose pulse converter (MMPC), are analyzed and compared by the three-dimensional calculation. The results show that the MMPC structure has a smaller available energy loss and a better anti-interference performance in the exhaust process. To solve the problems of scavenging interferences and exhaust temperature discrepancy on a highly boosted 8-cylinder marine diesel engine, a Hybrid modular exhaust (HME) system is proposed. Effects of MMPC, HME and MIXPC (Mixed pulse converter) on the engine performance are compared by one-dimensional simulation. This is followed by an engine test for performance comparison between MMPC and HME, which shows that the HME system can effectively relieve the problems of scavenging interference, and the maximum exhaust temperature discrepancy of all cylinders is reduced from 60°C to 31°C under the rated condition.

        Molecular and Cellular Microbiology / Biomedical Sciences : Regulation of the Lactobacillus Strains on HMGCoA Reductase Gene Transcription in Human HepG2 Cells via Nuclear Factor-κB

        Lactic acid bacteria have been identified to be effective in reducing cholesterol levels. Most of the mechanistic studies were focused on the bile salt deconjugation ability of bile salt hydrolase in lactic acid bacteria. However, the mechanism by which Lactobacillus decreases cholesterol levels has not been thoroughly studied in intact primate cells. 3-Hydroxy-3- methyl-glutaryl-coenzyme A reductase (HMGCR) is the vital enzyme in cholesterol synthesis. To confirm the effect of probiotic Lactobacillus strains on HMGCR level, in the present study, human hepatoma HepG2 cells were treated with Lactobacillus strains, and then the HMGCR level was illustrated by luciferase reporter assay and RT-PCR. The results showed that the level of HMGCR was suppressed after being treated with the live Lactobacillus strains. These works might set a foundation for the following study of the antihyperlipidemic effects of L. acidophilus, and contribute to the development of functional foods or drugs that benefit patients suffering from hyperlipidemia diseases.

        Lactobacillus acidophilus Strain Suppresses the Transcription of Proinflammatory-Related Factors in Human HT-29 Cells

        Previous studies have shown that lactic acid bacteria can inhibit inflammatory responses, but the mechanisms are very little known. In this study, transaction and expression of three proinflammatory factors, iNOS, PTGS-2, and IL8, which are closely related to the inflammatory response, were investigated by luciferase reporter assay and RTPCR in HT-29 cells treated by Lactobacillus acidophilus. The results showed that the live L. acidophilus sharply down-regulated the transcription of these three genes. Because there was a NF-κB binding site located at -265 bp, -225 bp, and -95 bp upstream of the iNOS, PTGS-2, and IL8 promoters, respectively, we further addressed the effects of NF-κB on transaction of the three promoters by cotransfection. As was expected, NF-κBs remarkably upregulated the activity of the reporter gene and, no effect of NF-κBs on IL-8 promoter transaction was found after NF-κB binding site mutation of the IL8 promoter in HT- 29 cells. In conclusion, the live L. acidophilus decreased the transcriptional activity of NF-κB and, in turn, inhibited the transaction of NF-κB on the three proinflammatory factors mentioned above.

        Dynamic Changes of Transcriptome and Metabolites During Ripening of Alpinia Oxyphylla Fruit (AOF)

        Alpinia oxyphylla (Yizhi) is an economically valuable plant, not only used as edible fruit, but also as an important traditional medicinal material. However, there are few studies on fruit development and metabolic pathways. To elucidate the dynamic changes of metabolites and transcription levels during fruit development of A. oxyphylla, the four parts of A. oxyphylla fruit from different periods, including early fruit (EF), middle fruit (MF), late pericarp (LP) and late seed (LS) were collected. KEGG pathway analysis shows that DEGs in EF, MF, LP are involved in amino sugar and nucleotide sugar metabolism, starch and sucrose metabolism, and plant hormone signal transduction. However, at the late part of fruit development (LS), most of the DEGs between LS and LP were enriched in pyruvate metabolism, glycolysis/gluconeogenesis, tryptophan metabolism. We found that in the early and middle parts of fruit development (EF, MF), many differential metabolites were enriched in piperidine tropane and biosynthesis of secondary metabolites, pyridine alkaloid biosynthesis. In addition, important active components, such as nootkatone in A. oxyphylla fruits accumulated in the LS part, but did not show significant differences in the first three parts. Some key transcription factors that are significantly positively correlated with the maturation of AOF have also been identified. Together, our research provides new insights into the accumulation of metabolites and the dynamic changes of the transcriptome during fruit development.
