      • Phellinus linteus 균사 배양물로부터 분리한 단백다당체 Kp의 항암활성

        A protein-polysaccaride fraction Kp(53.9% polysaccharide, 14.2% protein) was separated from the shake-cultured mycelia of a basidiomycetous fungus, Phellinus linteus, and its antitumor activity against sarcoma 180 in ICR mice was investigated. When administered after the tumor implantation. Kp exerted antitumor activity by inhibiting the growth of the sarcoma 180 solid tumor by 71.5% and increasing the life span of the sarcoma 180 ascitic mice by 51.5% at 100 ㎎/㎏. In pretreatment tests, in which Kp was administered once daily for 9 days before the tumor implantation. Kp inhibited the growth of the solid and ascites form of sarcoma 180, respectively, by 35.4% and by 80.3% at 100 ㎎/㎏. However, Kp showed no in vitro cytotoxic activity against a murine leukemia L1210 and a human gastric tumor SNU.1 upto the concentration of 200 ㎍/㎖. From these results, it is clear that the antitumor activity of Kp is exerted through its immunomodulating activity on the host's immune system.

      • 순간충격시험에 의한 금정산지역 화강암의 수리적 매개변수 산출

        This study is aimed for estimating hydraulic parameters using the Cooper-Bredhoeft-Papadopulos, the Hvorslev, the Bouwer & Rice analyses of data obtained by the slug test, and for characterizing hydraulic properties at the test holes in relation to drill core data. The study area was divided into four subareas far which the hydraulic characteristics was considered. The relationship among hydraulic parameters obtained by the three slug test analyses was also considered. The difference of hydraulic conductivity estimates between the injection slug test and the withdrawal slug test seems to be caused by the permeable fracture distribution around the test hole and the disturbance of fine materials in the fractures induced by the pressure variation due to slug injection and withdrawal. The hydraulic conductivity estimates calculated by the Cooper-Bredhoeft-Papadopulos, the Hvorslev and the Bouwer & Rice analyses range from 10-8 to 10-5m/sec, and the average ranges from 10-7 to 10-6m/sec.

      • 職業供血者의 血色素 및 血淸鐵値

        To satisfy the increasing needs for blood transfusion it is necessary not only to find new blood donors but also to repeat the collection of blood from the same donors. It was recognized that too frequent blood donations might become detrimental to the health of the donor, above all in female donors in foreign countries where the blood program relies on voluntary donation. Unfortunately, the sources of much blood depends solely on professional donors except in a few instances in Korea. Thus, anemia of professional donors after repeated blood donation must be controlled. For this purpose, we studied hemoglobin levels and serum iron levels of professional donors, coming to Korean Red Cross Blood Service and Seoul Medical College Hospital. The data obtained in this study were as follows: (1) 6. 0% of male professional donors and 17.98% of female professional donors were disqualified owing to a low hemoglobin levels. On the other heand, only 0.8% of male voluntary donors and 10.6% of female voluntary donors were rejected. (2) 7.3% of male donors and 33.3% of female donors were rejected their donations because of low hemoglobin levels on their 5-6th visits. (3) The serum iron levels appeared to be decreased after repeated blood donations. Specially, serum iron levels of female donors decreased to 73. 6 mcg. /d. after 2-4 blood donations yearly. So, it might be recommended to limit the frequency of blood donations from female.

      • 사이토카인과 Lipopolysaccharide 자극에 의한 RAW 264.7 세포주의 nitric oxide 생성

        Macrophages have been implicated as a major class of effector in the host response to neoplasia. Cells of the monocyte-macrophage lineage are known to exhibit tumoricidal activity following stim-ulation by γ-interferon, tumor necrosis factor, BCG and bacterial products such as lipopoly-saccharide (LPS). While the mechanism involved remain obscure, the generation of reactive nitrogen intermediate (RNI) by activated macrophages is considered a maior participant in mediating the tumorstatic effect. But much of what is known about the induction and release of RNI has been elucidated by using freshly isolated cells from blood and other tissues of experimental animals. In this study, we used a murine macrophage cell line, RAW 264.7, and found that these cells showed above 99% positive of pan macrophage marker by immunohistochemical staining. These cells could produce nitric oxide (NO), when incubated with γ-IFN or poly I:C. Incubation of RAW 264.7 cells with γ-IFN for 48 hous in the presence of LPS agumented NO release in a dose dependent manner. Whereas, treatment of anti-TNE-α antibody or antisense TNF-α oligodeoxynucleotide inhibited the release of NO_2 by γ-IFN plus LPS activated macrophages. The production of NO was also inhibited reversibly or irreversibly by N^GMMA,NAA,arginase or DPI. Thease data suggest that RAW 264.7 cell line may be useful for the in vitro evalulation of biological response modifiers as well as the study of signal pathway of NO release by macrophages.

        화학기상응축 공정으로 제조한 Fe 나노입자의 TEM 미세조직 및 결정화거동

        Iron and iron nitride nanoparticles were synthesized by chemical vapor condensation (CVC) process, using a precursor of Fe(CO)_(5) and carrier gas of NH₃. Phase change and crystallization behaviors of as received particles were mainly examined by TEM technique. Only α-Fe nanoparticles were formed at the lowest decomposition temperature of 500℃. As the temperature increased, the crystallization of α-Fe nanoparticles was suppressed and Fe₃N nanoparticles were begun to be formed. Finally full crystallization of Fe₃N was observed at 1000℃. Typical size of the α-Fe and Fe₃N particles was less than 30 nm in diameter.

        In the cultivation of the garlic, the limitted factor was known as the soil temperature in the spring, injury Hylemyia antiqua and soil moisture. This study was carried out to find out the effect of various mulching treatment on the growth of gralic, and the influence of various mulching such as transparent plastic film, straw and black plastic films on the soil temperature, soil moisture, appearance of Hylemyia antiqua, and development of clove and yield. The mulching treatment was applied on 30th March 1977, and Susan local variety was exermined as sample. The result were summerized as follows, 1. In the early period of growth, the soil temperature was raised about 5.2℃ by double mulching (straw under, transparent vinyl top),4.6℃ by transparent vinyl, 2.7℃ by black vinyl, 1.5℃ by straw compare with control. The latter period of growth, there was no different on the soil temperature between mulching treatment. 2. Moisture content in the soil was high by the mulching treatments at dry season. In mulching, double mulching (straws under, transparent vinyl top) treatment was effective, and the order of subsequently was straw, black vinyl, double mulching (trans-parent vinyl under, straw top), transparent vinyl, control. After the rain, the straw mulching was highest moisture content and the order of subsquently, control, double mulching (straw under, transparent vinyl top), double mulching (transparent vinyl under, straw top), black vinyl, transparent vinyl. 3. Appearance of weeds was significantly decreased double mulching (straw under, trans-parent vinyl top, black vinyl, double mulching (transparent vinyl under, straw top), and straw, but transparent vinyl was signinificantly increased the weed appearance. 4. The root dry weight was increased more by mulching treatment than control, and among the treatments, double mulching (straw under, transparent vinyl top) treatment was heaviest in root dry weight. 5. For the protection of Hylemyia antiqua, the mulching treatment was effective. But straw mulching was not. The fresh weight, the diameter, and the clove weight were increased by mulching treatment, auld among the treatment, double mulching (straw under, transparent vinyl top) treatment was most effective. In the early growth stake, the growth under the transparent vinyl mulching was more effective than double mulching (straw under transparent vinyl top) treatment, but in later growth stage, double mulching (straw under, transparent vinyl top) treatment promoted the growth more than transparent vinyl mulching. 7. The bulb weight was increased by mulching treatment more than control. Among the treatment, double mulching (straw under, transparent vinyl top) treatment was most effective.

        The increasing time and cost for the prevention and removal of software securiiy vulnerabiliiy incurs inefficiency in software development since the prevention and removal efforts are mainly concentrated after software implementation. Vulnerability prevention or removal, therefore, should be considered during elicitation of requirements phase. But users who are inexperienced with security vulnerabilities can't specify security requirements correctly and efficiently. This study suggests a method of elicitation and specification of security requirements that can make users who are not familiar with security requirements use easily. By suggesting the method of elicitation of security requirements, developers can easily find security vulnerability and respond to it as early as in software development phase.

        급속응고 Al-20Si-5Fe-2x(x=Ni, Cr or Zr) 합금의 미세조직 및 기계적 특성

        The microstructure and mechanical properties of the gas atomized and extruded Al-20Si-5Fe-2x (x=Cr, Zr or Ni) alloys were evaluated. The alloy powder was degassed under different vacuum levels in advance of the extrusion. It was shown that the addition of a quaternary element resulted in the formation of very fine particles that contributed to the improved mechanical properties of the alloys, especially at elevated temperatures. Of these additions, nickel was found to be the most effective in increasing the UTS of the alloy both at room and elevated temperatures. Degassing the rapidly solidified powders under better vacuum improved the properties further.

        급속응고된 N-type Bi₂Te_(2.75)Se_(0.15) 열전재료의 미세조직과 열전특성에 미치는 압출비의 영향

        The n-Type thermoelectric compounds of Bi₂Te_(2.75)Se_(0.15) doped with 0.1 wt% SbI₃ were fabricated by gas atomization process and extruded under ratio of 16:1 and 28:1 at 450℃. The effect of extrusion ratio on the microstructures and thermoelectric properties were investigated by a combination of microscopy, XRD and thermoelectric properties. Grains of extruded bars are smaller than those of heated powder at extrusion temperature (450℃) due to the dynamic recrystallization but with increasing the amount of plastic deformation, grains of specimen extruded with 28:1 were slightly coarse. The compressive strength of hot extruded bar under 28:1 is 160 MPa and with decreasing the extrusion ratio to 16:1, the value is 250 MPa. The Seebeck coefficient a and electrical resistivity p were decreased with increasing ratio, while thermal conductivity x was increased. this results from decrease of carrier scattering and increase of carrier mobility. Extruded bar under ratio of 16:1 shows the higher value of figure of merit (Z=2.50x10^(-3)/K) than that of 28:1 (Z=2.07x10^(-3)/K). (Received June 24, 2004)

        This study is to find the lot sizing technique based on demand pattern in the distribution system. In general, the lot sizing techniques used in the distribution system is the same as the methods of MBP system. This couldn't be applied at the distribution system because of very complicate and manager's lack of understand. The lot sizing techniques used for analyzing and emphasizing productivity in this study are compared with EOQ, LFL, POQ, LTC and PPB.
