The question of “what is most necessary when applying CAT in a hospital clinical environment” for the perception criteria came out with the results of t=9.980, p<.05. For the attitude, results showed that the answers of pregnant women under the age of 35 displayed a more positive attitude towards CAT. (t=2.421, p<.05) Lastly, in the experience section, pregnant women under the age of 35 showed more CAT use than the other sample group. Conclusion Results have shown that there is a difference in the perception, behavior, and experience between the two sample groups. Therefore further research on the efficacy and the adverse effects of CAT needs to be done.
Interruption of Helicobacter pylori-Induced NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation by Chalcone Derivatives
( Hye Ri Choi ),( Hyun Lim ),( Ju Hee Lee ),( Haeil Park ),( Hyun Pyo Kim ) 한국응용약물학회 2021 Biomolecules & Therapeutics(구 응용약물학회지) Vol.29 No.4
Helicobacter pylori causes chronic gastritis through cag pathogenicity island (cagPAI), vacuolating cytotoxin A (VacA), lipopolysaccharides (LPS), and flagellin as pathogen-related molecular patterns (PAMPs), which, in combination with the pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) of host cells promotes the expression and secretion of inflammation-causing cytokines and activates innate immune responses such as inflammasomes. To identify useful compounds against H. pylori-associated gastric disorders, the effect of chalcone derivatives to activate the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain (NOD)-like receptor family, pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome was examined in an H. pylori-infected human monocytic THP-1 cell line in this study. Among the five synthetic structurally-related chalcone derivatives examined, 2’-hydroxy-4’,6’-dimethoxychalcone (8) and 2’-hydroxy-3,4,5- trimethoxychalcone (12) strongly blocked the NLRP3 inflammasome in H. pylori-infected THP-1 cells. At 10 μM, these compounds inhibited the production of active IL-1β, IL-18, and caspase-1, and apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a caspase recruitment domain (ASC) oligomerization, but did not affect the expression levels of NLRP3, ASC, and pro-caspase-1. The interruption of NLRP3 inflammasome activation by these compounds was found to be mediated via the inhibition of the interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 4 (IRAK4)/IκBα/NF-κB signaling pathway. These compounds also inhibited caspase-4 production associated with non-canonical NLRP3 inflammasome activation. These results show for the first time that certain chalcones could interrupt the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome in H. pylori-infected THP-1 cells. Therefore, these chalcones may be helpful in alleviating H. pylori-related inflammatory disorders including chronic gastritis.
Case Report : A case of vulvar hematoma with rupture of pseudoaneurysm of pudendal artery
( Hye Ri Hong ),( Kyu Ri Hwang ),( Sung Ae Kim ),( Jeong Eun Kwon ),( Hye Won Jeon ),( Ji Eun Choi ),( Young Ho So ) 대한산부인과학회 2014 Obstetrics & Gynecology Science Vol.57 No.2
Vulvar hematomas are uncommon outside of the obstetric population and may be the result of trauma to the perineum. Vulvar hematomas most often present with low abdominal pain and urologic and neurologic symptoms. The vulva has rich vascularization that is supplied by the pudendal artery, a branch of the anterior division of the internal iliac artery. We describe a rare case of a 15-cm-sized vulvar hematoma with the suggested rupture of a pseudoaneurysm of the left pudendal artery without trauma injury. A 14-year-old girl presented with sudden pain and swelling in her left labium and was successfully treated with selective arterial embolization and surgical evacuation. We provide a literature review and discuss patient treatment and management strategies.

The purpose of this study was to suggest the plan for specialization of open space for public purposes in commercial area to support youth culture experience activities. We selected and analyzed Seongan-gil market in Cheongju as study area. Open spaces for public purpose in the area are classified into five types (for commerce, for parking, for arrangement of obstacles, for relaxation, and the others) depending on the purposes of use. To support youth culture experience activities, commercial activities in the open space should be regulated to a certain extent or cultural experience programs linked to sale items in shop should be developed. Besides, the space should be able to accommodate various youth activities through promotion of public transportation convenience, expansion of parking lots, and vehicle traffic restrictions.

A novel maltose (G2)-forming alpha-amylase from Lactobacillus plantarum subsp. plantarum ST-III was expressed in Escherichia coli and characterized. Analysis of conserved amino acid sequence alignments showed that L. plantarum maltose producing alpha-amylase (LpMA) belongs to glycoside hydrolase family 13. The recombinant enzyme (LpMA) was a novel G2 producing alpha-amylase. The properties of.purified LpMA were investigated following enzyme purification. LpMA exhibited optimal activity at 30 degrees C and pH 3.0. It produced only G2 from the hydrolysis of various substrates, including maltotriose (G3), maltopentaose (GS), maltosyl beta-cyclodextrin (G2-beta-CD), amylose, amylopectin, and starch. However, LpMA was unable to hydrolyze cyclodextrins. Reaction pattern analysis using 4-nitrophenyl-alpha-D-maltopentaoside (pNPGS) demonstrated that LpMA hydrolyzed pNPGS from the nonreducing end, indicating that LpMA is an exotype alpha-amylase. Kinetic analysis revealed that LpMA had the highest catalytic efficiency (k(cat)/K-m ratio) toward G2-beta-CD. Compared with beta-amylase, a well-known G2-producing enzyme, LpMA produced G2 more efficiently from liquefied corn starch due to its ability to hydrolyze G3.
