N/A Objectives : Stereotactic radiosurgery using gamma-knife in adjunct to transsphenoidal pituitary surgery is recently being used for treatment of pituitary adenomas and it poses as an effective and safe treatment modality. We present our experience and preliminary results of gamma-knife treatment of the patients with pituitary adenomas. Methods: Between May, 1992 and March, 1994, 20 patients with pituitary adenoma were treated with gamma-knife at Yonsei Medical Center. Among them, 15 cases who have had follow-up for more than 6 months were included in our study. 13 of 15 cases had endocrinologically active tumors(4 prolactin secreting, 4GH secreting, 5 ACTH secreting), and two patients had clinically non-functioning adenomas. Hormonal and radiological studies and clinical features were followed up. Results: After gamma-knife surgery, the hormonal level was decreased in eleven of thirteen patients with functioning pituitary adenomas and the size of tumor was decreased in seven of fifteen patients and eleven of fifteen patients were improved clinically. There was more favorable results in Cushing's disease than in other pituitary adenomas. There was no severe complication associated with gamma-knife surgery, Conclusion : Based on our initial clinical experience, we believe that gamma-knife stereotactic radio surgery is safe and effective alternative to conventional neurosurgery in selected patients with pituitary adenomas and further study might be warranted.

기존에 운행되는 중량전철은 천문학적인 예산이 투입되고, 수송량이 많을 경우 유용하나 수송량이 상대적으로 적은 지방 소도시는 중량전철을 적용하기에 비용의 문제가 있다. 또한 현재 전력소비량이 날로 증가하여 국가적인 차원에서 전력수급이 문제가 되고 있으며 에너지의 효율적인 사용이 점점 중요시 되고 있는 시점이다. 무가선 저상 트램은 건설비용의 절감, 에너지의 재사용, 편안한 승하차 등의 장점으로 기존 중량 전철의 문제점을 극복할 새로운 교통수단으로 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 리튬 - 폴리머를 활용한 무가선 저상 트램에 적용된 추진제어시스템을 소개하고자 한다. Exsiting mass rapid transit needs too much astronomical budget and it is useful in case transported volume is large, but It is a waste of money to apply to local towns that has small transport of volume. Also at the state level, increasing power consumption and power supply are the problem, so efficient use of energy is increasingly important in the present. The advantages of low-floor trams that has advantage of reduce construction costs, the reuse of energy, comfortable rides, etc has emerged as a new transportation to overcome the problems of the existing train. In this paper, we introduce a propulsion system using lithium-polymer is applied to a non-catenary low-floor tram.

Recently, the high frequency isolated boost DC/DC converter has been widely used for the PCS (Power Conditioning System) system because of its small size and low cost. However, the high frequency isolated boost DC/DC converters applied the conventional voltage-fed converter and current-fed converter have the problems such as the high conduction losses and the surge voltage due to the high circulating current and the leakage inductance, respectively. To overcome this problems, in this paper the secondary LLC resonant converter is proposed, and the experimental results of the secondary LLC series resonant converter for boost DC/DC converter are verified on the simulation based on the theoretical analysis and the 700W experimental prototype.

Purpose: We report a case of a skeletal Class III patient with bilateral incomplete cleft lip and palate who successfully underwent orthodontic treatment with orthognathic surgery and dental implant restoration. Case Report: An 11-year-old girl with cleft lip and palate showed narrow maxilla and congenital missing of upper anterior teeth. To solve transverse deficiency of premaxilla and provide sufficient space for implant restoration, maxillary segmental osteotomy and transverse distraction osteogenensis with fan-type expander was operated. After growth, the patient took orthodontic treatment for orthognathic surgery. For implant restoration on the cleft site, tertiary alveolar bone graft with autogenous & alloplastic bone was performed. After revision surgery and filler injection on retruded upper lip, patient’s lateral facial profile was improved with balanced upper and lower lip profile. Conclusions: For successful implant restoration on alveolar cleft site, sufficient space needs to be regained and tertiary bone graft should be considered. Normal function and esthetic profile can be achieved by multidisciplinary treatment approach for the patient with cleft lip and palate.
