Pantoea agglomerans (P. agglomerans) is a ubiquitous gram-negative aerobic bacillus member of the Enterobacteriaceae family that is found in plants, fruits and vegetables, and that can also be found in the human and animal fecal matter. It has been reported to play a limited role as an infectious agent, as well as an unusual pathogen for peritoneal dialysis (PD)-associated peritonitis. Beta-lactam antibiotics have been used against this pathogen with good results. Most of the reported cases of P.agglomerans peritonitis were also resolved with antibiotic therapy. Two cases of PD peritonitis caused by P.agglomerans were reported in Korea; clinical improvement was achieved by antibiotic treatment. However, no patient required catheter removal. Here we report a case of PD-associated peritonitis due to P.agglomerans that was successfully treated after catheter removal.

This paper is presented in the result of an experimental study on the mechaniclal properties of recovered asphalt extracted from waste asphalt mixture. This study has been performed to obtain the properties of recovered asphalt such as penetration, flash point, fire point, softening point and ductility, automatic elemental analyzer, TLC analysis. The test variables are payment course, service time. Penetration test shows the results that decrease penetration on account of increasing service time, especially in surface course. Softening test shows the results that increase softening point on account of increasing service time.
A Case of Duodenal Obstruction Due to Intestinal Malrotation Diagnosed in Middle-aged Man
박재우,김문철,양민아,윤현주,이천범,오왕국,조진웅 대한장연구학회 2013 Intestinal Research Vol.11 No.2
Intestinal malrotation occurs because of an arrest of normal rotation of the embryonic gut. It is often diagnosed in first month of life because of acute complications and requires surgical management. If it is not detected at a young age, it is diagnosed incidentally in advanced age. It is very rarely reported at advanced age with symptoms. In Korea in the last 30 years only about 10 such cases have been reported. In 2010, intestinal malrotation was reported at advanced age in only one case who had acute duodenal obstruction due to non-rotation of the pre-arterial segment of mid-gut. Therefore, we report a case of a 45-year-old man with non-rotation of pre-arterial segment with duodenal obstruction who had complained chronic and mild epigastric discomfort from a year ago.
