        전기뱀장어의 전기발생을 모사한 고전압 액체 전해질 미소전지

        We present high-voltage liquid-electrolyte microbatteries, inspired from the high-voltage generation mechanism of electric eels using serially connected multiple-cell arrays. In the microbatteries, we purge air into the electrolyte filled in a channel layer to isolate serially connected multiple cell arrays using three surface-tension valves (cell-front, outlet, and cell-end valves). Compared to the previous multi-cell stack or interconnection, present microbatteries provide a reduced multi-cell charging time. We have designed and characterized four different prototypes C1, C10, C20, and C40 having 1, 10, 20, and 40 cells, respectively. In the experimental study, the threshold pressures of cell-front, outlet, and cell-end valves were measured as 460±47, 1,000±53, and 2,800±170 Pa, respectively. The average charging time for C40 was measured as 26.8±4.9 seconds where the electrolyte and air flow-rates are 100 and 10 ㎕/min, respectively. Microbatteries showed the maximum voltage of 12 V (C40), the maximum power density of 110 ㎼/㎠ (C40), and the maximum power capacity of 2.1 μAh/㎠ (C40). We also proposed a tapered-channel to remove the reaction gas from the cell chamber using a surface tension effect. The present microbatteries are applicable to high-voltage portable power devices.

        창립 40주년에 즈음한 한국회계학회의 발전방안

        한국회계학회는 1973년에 설립된 이래 우리나라의 대표적인 회계학회로 위상을 갖추어 왔다. 본 연구는 한국회계학회의 창립 40주년을 맞아 과거 40년간의 활동을 되돌아보고 이를 통해 향후 한국회계학회가 보다 발전적인 학회로 나아가기 위한 개선방안을 제안한다. 이를 위해, 본 연구는 한국회계학회 회원들을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하였으며 학계와 실무계의 다양한 인사들을 심층 면담하여 한국회계학회의 발전방안에 대한 의견을 수렴하였다. 본 연구는 한국회계학회의 활동을 크게 전반적인 운영부문, 연구부문, 교육부문 및 사회적 책임부문으로 구분하고 각 부문에 대한 중ㆍ장기 발전방안을 제안한다. 아울러 이러한 각 부문의 발전방안을 체계적으로 수행해 나가기 위해 선행되어야 할 과제를 제안한다. 첫째, 한국회계학회가 장기적으로 나아가야 할 방향을 설정하기 위해 장기적 비전과 미션을 정립한다. 둘째, 새로이 확립된 비전과 미션에 부합하는 각 부문별 핵심추진사업을 선정한다. 셋째, 각 부문별 핵심추진사업을 지속적으로 수행해나가기 위한 조직과 예산확보방안을 마련한다. 창립 40주년을 맞이한 한국회계학회가 회계학 분야에서 선도적 학회로서의 위상을 유지하고 더 나아가 글로벌 학회로서 도약하기 위해서는 향후 많은 고민과 함께 심도 깊은 논의가 이루어져야 할 것으로 보인다. 본 연구는 이러한 논의의 출발점으로서 향후 한국회계학회가 새로운 비전 및 미션을 정립하고 이를 달성하기 위한 중ㆍ장기 발전계획을 수립하여 이행해나감에 있어 이정표와 같은 역할을 수행할 수 있으리라 기대한다. The Korean Accounting Association (hereafter ``KAA``) has become a leading academic association in accounting since its establishment in 1973. This study surveys 40 years of the KAA history and makes suggestions for the KAA to make a new leap forward in the future. In this regard we conduct an on-line survey and intensive interviews to gather opinions of the KAA members and practitioners. We classify activities of the KAA into overall operation, research, education and social responsibilities and suggest forward-looking strategies in each area. Furthermore, we suggest prerequisite to successful implementations of the strategies. First, the KAA should renew its vision and mission to embrace the rapidly changing environment. Second, the KAA should identify key tasks in each area that are in line with its vision and mission. Third, the KAA should secure human and financial resources that can ensure continual implementation of the tasks regardless of the president`s tenure. The KAA celebrated the 40th anniversary of its founding this year and ought to put forth best efforts to maintain its role as a leading academic association and to earn a reputation as a global accounting association in the days to come. This study will serve a good starting point as the KAA moves into a new era.

        요근에 단독으로 발생한 신경초종 - 증례보고 -

        The vast majority of schwannomas occur on cranial nerves, and rarely in the retroperitoneum. Solitary schwannoma in the psoas muscle is extremely rare. The authors present a case of retroperitoneal neoplasm in the psoas muscle identified as schwannoma which is not associated with von Recklinghausen's disease. A 68 years old female patient was admitted because of low back pain and weakness at the left leg. CT and MRI revealed a large cystic mass with well-defined margin and multiple internal septation within the left psoas muscle. The tumor was totally extirpated and histologically confirmed as a schwannoma.

        급성 수두증 환자에서 지속적 요추지주막하 배액의 임상적 역할

        저자들의 방법으로 급성 수두증이 지속되는 환자를 치료한다면 첫째, 뇌압이 상승된 환자에서 요추지주막하 배액의 가장 우려되는 합병증인 탈뇌의 가능성을 미리 예측 할 수 있고 둘째, 뇌실외배액을 뇌실염 발생 이전에 요추지주막하배액으로 대치하여 뇌실염을 예방할 수 있으며 셋째, 뇌실외배액으로 인하여 뇌실염이 이미 발생한 경우에는 요추지주막하 배액으로 치환하여, 이물질(foreign body)로 작용하여 감염치료를 저해하는 뇌실내 카테터를 제거할 수 있고 동시에 경막내 항생제 투여로 뇌실염의 치료를 기대할 수 있으며 넷째, 요추지주막하 배액은 뇌실외배액에 비해 반복적 시술에 따른 두개강내 출혈, 경련 등의 위험으로부터 안전하며 천자가 가능한 부위가 많아 기간이 오래되거나 혹은 천자가 실패하여 다른 부위로 옮겨야할 때 위치 변경이 용이하다는 등의 장점이 기대된다. 본 교실에서는 여러 가지 원인으로 인하여 발생한 급성 수두증이 조기에 해결되지 않고 잔존혈괴나 감염 등의 이유로 단락술을 바로 시행할 수도 없는 경우에 간단한 시험을 통하여 탈뇌의 가능성을 배제한 다음 뇌실외배액을 요추지주막하 배액으로 치환하여 치료함으로써 좋은 결과를 얻었기에 이러한 곤란한 경우의 치료법의 한가지 대안으로 제안하고자 한다. Objective : Acute hydrocephalus can be caused by many pathologic conditions such as sub- arachnoid hemorrhage, intraventricular hemorrhage, inflammatory diseases. External ventricular drainage(EVD) through trephination of the skull is essential procedure for progressing or persistent symptomatic acute hydrocephalus. If the EVD can not be removed in short period, the chance of ventriculitis increases and periodic transposition of the draining catheter should be considered. Shunt procedure can not be performed in acute hemorrhage or infectious condition because of the risk of shunt malfunction or intra-abdominal spreading of the infection, respectively. The authors replaced EVD with continuous lumbar drainage(CLD) for the purpose of controlling acute hydrocephalus and preventing ventriculitis simultaneously, or treating ventriculitis more effectively in case of infection which had already broken out. CLD has many advantages over EVD, although, it can complicate disastrous downward brain herniation in patients with elevated intracranial pressure. The authors performed CLD with EVD maintained and then tested the possibility of the brain herniation with quite simple method. If the CLD was proven as safe through the test, EVD could be replaced with it without terrible herniation. Material and Method : Between September 1998 and April 1999, 10 patients underwent CLD in replacement of EVD. Among them, 5 were patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, 2 were patients with thalamic hematoma and intraventricular hemorhage and 3 were patients with traumatic intracranial hemorrhage. Results : In eight of them the replacements were successfully done and one of them died on account of medical illness. In two of them the replacement could not be performed because of the risk of herniation and all expired owing to ventriculitis. Two patients required permanent shunt operation. Conclusion : This article provides a valuable alternative method of treatment for persistent symptomatic hydrocephalus which can not be managed with shunt operation immediately.

        접형골에 발생한 원발성 골육종 1예 - 증례보고 -

        Osteosarcoma is the most frequently encountered primary malignant tumor of the bone. But primary osteosarcoma of the skull(POS) is rare. The author presents a case of skull neoplasm identified as osteogenic sarcoma. A twentyseven-years-old male patient was admitted because of painful swelling at left temporal and zygomatic area with impairment of extraocular movement. Chest film and long bone series showed no evidence of abnormality. Skull films revealed round irregular bony destructive area at the left pterional area. CT and MRI revealed expansile destruction of the left sphenoid bone, lateral orbital wall and temporal bone within the hemorrhagic mass lesions which showed wall enhancement. Histologic examination confirmed a rare variant of osteosarcoma of the telangiectatic type.

        열처리에 따른 급냉 Fe-6.5%Si 스트립의 미세구조 및 자기특성 변화

        N/A The objectives of this study are first, to expand our understanding of relationship between magnetic properties and microstructural features such as grain size and texture, and second to reduce core loss of Fe-6.5%Si strip through optimizing heat treatment conditions. A rapid solidification technique, planar flow casting(PFC), was adopted to produce Fe-6.5%Si strips. The strips were heat treated under various conditions. The results show that heat treatment conditions can change not only grain size but also (200) texture formation on the strip surface. Variation in magnetic properties of Fe-6.5%Si strip is analyzed in terms of the change in grain size as well as (200) texture on the strip surface. The heat treatment conditions of 1100℃ over 2hr or 1150℃ 1∼2hr in N₂+ 5%H₂appear to minimize core loss of Fe-6.5%Si strips.

        쌍롤 박판 주조법으로 제조한 Ag-27.5%Cu-20.5%Zn-2.5%Mn-0.5%Ni 브레이징 합금의 미세조직 및 기계적 특성

        The suitability of twin roll strip casting for Ag-27.5%Cu-20.5%Zn-2.5%Mn-0.5%Ni brazing alloy (known as HS-49D) was examined in the present work and the mechanical properties and microstructure of the strip were also investigated. The effect of annealing heat treatment on the properties was also studied. The new manufacturing process has applications in the production of the brazing alloy. XRD and microstructural analyses of the Ag-27.5%Cu-20.5%Zn-2.5%Mn-0.5%Ni strip revealed a eutectic microstructure of an Ag-rich matrix (FCC) and a Cu-rich phase (FCC) regardless of heat treatment. The results of mechanical tests showed tensile strength of 434 MPa and 80% elongation for the twin roll casted strip. Tensile results showed decreasing strengths and increasing elongation with annealing heat treatment. Microstructural evolution and fractography were also investigated and related to the mechanical properties.

        Pantoea agglomerans (P. agglomerans) is a ubiquitous gram-negative aerobic bacillus member of the Enterobacteriaceae family that is found in plants, fruits and vegetables, and that can also be found in the human and animal fecal matter. It has been reported to play a limited role as an infectious agent, as well as an unusual pathogen for peritoneal dialysis (PD)-associated peritonitis. Beta-lactam antibiotics have been used against this pathogen with good results. Most of the reported cases of P.agglomerans peritonitis were also resolved with antibiotic therapy. Two cases of PD peritonitis caused by P.agglomerans were reported in Korea; clinical improvement was achieved by antibiotic treatment. However, no patient required catheter removal. Here we report a case of PD-associated peritonitis due to P.agglomerans that was successfully treated after catheter removal.

        Venous air embolism (VAE) was reported in up to 23% of patients after contrastenhanced computed tomography (CT) examination; most of the emboli are small and not associated with the symptoms. In cases of small and moderate-sized emboli, most patients recovered with supportive care, including intravascular fluid infusion to increase venous pressure and venous return, oxygen therapy, and patient positioning. However, with larger emboli, VAE can be a serious and even fatal event. There have been few cases of VAE in Korea, in which patients improved with supportive treatment. We report a successfully treated case of VAE in a patient with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) on regular hemodialysis, in whom large air emboli developed after contrast-enhanced CT scan, and who experienced improvement with supportive care including cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
