<김인향전>의 인물형상화와 작품지향성의 관계 - <장화홍련전>과의 비교를 토대로

본고는 고전소설 자료 중 계모형 가정소설의 범주에 속하는 <김인향전>을 주 텍스트로 하여 그 인물형상화 방식과 작품의 지향성이 맺고 있는 상관성을 밝히고자 하였다. <김인향전>은 <장화홍련전>과 비슷한 소재를 다룬다는 점 때문에 그 아류작 정도로 치부되었으나 인물의 구성이나 문제의식 등에서 차별성을 드러내는 독자적인 작품이라 할 수 있다. 특히 인물의 형상화에 있어서 <장화홍련전>과는 여러 가지 차이를 드러낸다. 인물군을 확대하여 이야기의 합리적 전개를 도모하고 있고, 인물의 성격을 다각도로 살피고 입체적으로 형상화함으로써 설화적 인물 형상을 탈피하여 현실성을 획득하였다. 또한 인물의 행위를 구체적으로 개연성 있게 그려냄으로써 사실성을 확보함과 동시에 소설의 흥미도를 높이고 있다. 인물형상화에서 이루어낸 이와 같은 성취는 19세기 이후의 현실을 반영하면서 기법적인 측면에서의 발전을 이룬 것으로 평가받을 만하다. 그러나 인물형상화를 통해 보여준 합리적 지향과 현실성의 추구와는 상반되어 보이는 비합리적 요소들이 공존하고 있다는 점도 주목할 필요가 있다. 강한 현실성을 드러내던 전반부에 비해 문제의 해결 과정을 다루는 후반부에 이르면 현실성을 결여한 이상적 인물과 환상적 내용들이 큰 비중을 차지하게 되는데 이는 현실에서 제기된 문제를 기존의 지배 윤리에 입각하여 관념적 차원에서 해결하려고 하는 의식적 지향에 말미암은 것이라고 파악된다. 요컨대 <김인향전>은 개연성 있는 소설형상화를 지향함으로써 인물형상화에서의 사실성과 구체성을 도모하고 있으면서도 의식적 측면에서의 보수적 지향으로 인해 비현실적이고 비합리적인 요소들을 끌어들임으로써 이중적 모습을 보인다는 특징을 지니고 있다. This paper aims to discover the relationship between the figuration of character and the inclination of theme in <Kiminhyanggeon(김인향전)> which belongs to stepmother type family novels. Comparing with <Janghwahongryungeon(장화홍련전)>, this novel has many differences as follows, especially on the figuration of character. First, characters are increased. This contributes to make the story seem to be more reasonable. Second, character sketch is more stereoscopic and complicated. It means characters in this novel get out of fable style and get reality. Third, this novel described detailed acts of characters. Because of this, it can acquire probability. However this novel has many irrational factors run counter to rationality of the Figuration of Character. This discordance resulted from conservative inclination that tried to solve the pratical problems with ideology of Confucianism. To sum up, <Kiminhyanggeon(김인향전)> has a duality of accepting new and advanced techniques in the figuration of character and at the same time, keeping conservatism in the side of theme.

자녀가 성소수자임을 받아들이게 된 엄마들의 이야기 - 그래도 엄마는 네 편이야

본 연구의 과제는 “어머니가 자녀가 성소수자임을 받아들이게 되는 경험의 본질과 그 의미는 무엇인가?”이다. 이를 위하여 성소수자 자녀를 둔 6명의 어머니들에게 심층 면접을 진행하였으며 현상학적 연구방법으로 분석하였다. 자녀가 성소수자임을 받아들이게 되는 엄마들의 이야기를 분석한 결과 총 7개의 구성요소와 22개 하위구성요소가 도출되었다. 7개의 구성요소는 ‘심장이 멈춤, 그러나 머릿속은 어느 때보다 바빴던 순간,’ ‘낯선 아이 앞에 멈칫거리는 나,’ ‘듣도 보도 못한, 드러내놓고 물을 데도 없는 엄마 노릇,’ ‘평범한 꿈을 내어주고 얻은 깨달음 - 누구에게나 아픔은 있다,’ ‘평생토록 미안해,’ ‘끝나지 않는 전쟁,’ ‘아이를 떠나보내기’ 이다. 성소수자의 어머니가 자녀가 성소수자임을 받아들이는 경험을 통하여 성소수자 당사자와 주변의 사람들에게 서로에 대한 이해를 증진시키고 성소수자에게 수용적인 환경을 조성하는 데 유용한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다.

국문장편 속 ‘피’의 표상과 서사적 의미 - 주동인물의 경우를 중심으로

Since ‘Blood’ symbolizes both life and death, it has been an important topic in literature. The Korean classical long novels are also actively using this imagery of blood. This paper is about how the blood, that contains various symbolic aspects, are used in Korean classical long novels and how it builds relationships with existing systems and ideologies. Through this study, it is expected to consider not only the way this unique and provocative material is used in the literature but also the reactions of the readers. The examples of the representative formations of blood in Korean classical long novels are ‘Aenghyeol’, vomiting blood, flogging, and self-injury. The specific forms and situations of bleeding are diverse, such as ‘Aenghyeol’ as the mark of women virginity, vomiting blood as the expression of internal worries, blood from flogging as the obedience to authority, and self-injury as the will of resistance. However, the blood magnified in Korean classical long novels is in common, since these are objectified to be shown to others. By actively using its visual image, it is able to raise dramatic effects and deliver the message without language. Using blood for a show in Korean classical long novels are related to the independence of the body. Rather than a subject that has its own identity, the bodies in Korean classical long novels are more like an object of the cooperative system. In this case, the body becomes a target of observation of the public and its blood are exposed as a dramatic symbol of the objectified body. The owners of the body try to gain recognition of internalizing public ideology by showing their blood, or on the other hand, reveal their will of resistance by clarifying the ownership of the body, as the case of self-injury. However, either is the same in that it is delivering the oppressive reality of the objectified body and the pain caused by it. The readers experience the sublime by keeping a certain distance from the fear caused by blood. Since Korean classical long novels embody the blood of ordinary and detailed situations, the effects of reading increase through empathy. Readers could be ethically reformed by the emotional influence of the blood, or be awakened by criticizing discrepancy. Moreover, hence Korean classical long novels are popular reading, the sensational imagery of blood also acquires important meaning as the element arousing popular interests. 피는 생명과 죽음을 동시에 표상하는 상징물로서 문학의 중요 제재가 되어왔다. 국문장편소설에서도 이러한 피의 이미지를 적극 활용하고 있다. 본고에서는 보수적 이념을 기반으로 하는 국문장편소설 안에서 다양한 상징성을 지니는 피가 어떻게 활용되며 기존의 제도 및 이념과 관계 맺는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 통해 소설 속에서 피라는 독특하고도 자극적인 소재가 문면화되는 양상뿐 아니라 피의 형상화에 투사된 당대 이념과 이에 대한 독자의 반응까지도 고찰할 수 있으리라 생각한다. 국문장편의 대표적 피의 형상화로 앵혈, 토혈, 태장, 자해 등의 경우를 꼽을 수 있다. 여성 순결 표지로서의 앵혈, 내적 고민의 표출로서의 토혈, 권위에 대한 복종을 의미하는 태장의 피, 저항 의지의 표출로서의 자해 등 피의 구체적 형상이나 피를 흘리는 상황은 다양하다. 그러나 국문장편의 서사에서 부각되는 피는 누군가에게 보여주기 위해 대상화된 피라는 점에서 공통적이다. 피의 시각적 이미지를 적극적으로 활용하여 극적 효과를 달성하는 한편 무언의 의사 전달 수단으로 삼는 것이다. 이처럼 국문장편에서 피의 보여주기 효과가 빈번히 사용되는 것은 몸의 주체성 여부와 상관이 있다. 국문장편의 몸은 개성을 지닌 주체적 몸이기보다 집단공동체에 의해 대상화된 몸에 가깝다. 이 경우 몸은 관찰과 규시의 대상으로서 공공화되며 피는 타자화된 몸의 극적 상징물로서 공공 앞에 노출된다. 몸의 주인은 피로써 보여주기를 통해 공공의 이념을 내면화하였음을 인정받고자 하거나 반대로 자해의 경우처럼 몸에 대한 소유권을 분명히 함으로써 저항적 태도를 보이기도 한다. 그러나 어느 경우든 타자화된 몸의 억압적 실상과 그로 인한 고통을 전달하고 있다는 점에서는 마찬가지이다. 독자들은 피가 유발하는 공포로부터 일정한 거리두기를 통해 숭고의 미감을 체험할 수 있다. 또한 국문장편의 경우 일상적이고 구체적인 상황의 피를 형상화하기 때문에 감정적 공유를 통한 독서 효과가 증대된다. 독자들은 피의 감성적 영향력을 통해 윤리적으로 교화될 수도 있고, 모순을 비판하며 각성할 수도 있다. 한편 대중적 독서물인 국문장편소설에서 선정적인 피의 이미지는 통속적 흥미를 자극하는 요소로서도 중요한 의미를 지닌다.

An efficient echo cancellation method, which controls the echo caused from the PSTN, is proposed. In our situation, the PSTN is connected to the mobile subscriber and the base-station which use different bit-rate CVSD(continuously variable slope delta modulation) coders and echo canceller is installed at the location of the base-station. By using the symmetry of the coder pairs. the proposed method shortens the echo pate length and reduces the nonlinear distortion inherent in the coders. And it is implemented in the decoded signal region, so fitted to the general-purpose DSP implementation. We also proposed a echo cancellation method using the combined bit-stream so as to implement without the multipliers onto the VLSI. It has an improved echo cancellation performance by reducing the high frequency noises in the coders. And it has an reduced complexity by reducing the excitation rate of the bit-stream.

Understanding of RF Impedance Matching System Using VI-Probe

The demand for stable plasma has been on the rise because of the increased delivery power amount in the chamber for improving productivity, and fast and accurate plasma impedance matching become a crucial performance measure for radio frequency (RF) power system in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In this paper, the overall impedance matching was understood, and voltage and current values were extracted with voltage - current (VI) probe to measure plasma impedance in real-time. Actual matching data were analyzed to derive calibration coefficient for V and I measurements to understand the characteristics of VI probe, and we demonstrated the tendency of RF impedance matching according to changes in load impedance. This preliminary empirical research can contribute to fast RF matching as well as advanced equipment control for the next level of detailed investigation on embedded system based-RF matching controller.

조선후기 사대부의 불안정성과 남성성의 재구성 -<청백운>의 사례를 중심으로

<CheongBaekUn靑白雲> is a novel in Chinese that is presumed to have been created by a Sadaebu(士大夫) after the end of the 18th century. This novel is based on the narrative of success of a heroic protagonist by borrowing the narrative conventions of Korean classical long novels. However, in the in-depth content, it reflects the unstable reality faced by the Sadaebu(士大夫) at the time. First of all, it is the weakness of the material foundation expressed by economic deficiency and the weakening of social status. This is symbolized by the absence of the patriarch who played a pivotal role in the Confucian patriarchal system. Second, there are negative behaviors behind political success. The male protagonist, Dussangseong, falls in love with alcohol and beauty, abandons his responsibilities as a head of household and public servant, and pursues personal desire instead of justification and belief. This can be said to have a negative effect on the establishment of the belief system by the deficiencies of reality. Therefore, he resigns from the government post and wants to complete his ideal life in the unworldliness. However, this too is merely an imaginary refuge for the extension and continuation of secular desire. In this way, the character of the male protagonist, who is influenced by desire and emotion, violates the hegemonic masculinity of the Sadaebu(士大夫) based on Confucian ideology. However, instead of weakening masculinity based on hierarchy, emotional relationships that transcend boundaries are highlighted by women. In this process, the male protagonist is embodied as a more existential and everyday figure who is honest with his feelings and desires. And this can be said to be a reorganization of masculinity that positively accepts new elements that were perceived as negative. <청백운>은 18세기 말 이후 사대부 작가에 의해 창작된 것으로 추정되는 한문장편소설이다. 이 소설은 국문장편소설의 서사 관습을 차용해 영웅적 주인공의 성공 서사를 근간으로 하고 있음에도 불구하고 심층 내용에 있어서는 당대 사대부가 당면한 불안정한 현실을 반영하고 있다. 우선 경제적 결핍으로 표현되는 물적 토대의 취약함과 사회적 위상의 약화를 들 수 있다. 이는 유교적 가부장제의 내외적 중추 역할을 했던 가장의 부재로 상징화된다. 다음으로 청운으로 표상되는 정치적 성공 이면의 부작용들을 들 수 있다. 주인공 두쌍성은 주색에 빠져 가장으로서의 책임과 관리로서의 책무를 방기함으로써 명분과 신념 대신 사적 욕망을 추구하는 모습을 보인다. 이는 현실의 결핍들이 신념 체계의 확립에까지 부정적 영향을 미친 탓이라고 할 수 있다. 이에 벼슬에서 물러나 백운의 세계에서 이상적 삶을 완성하고자 하지만 그가 추구하는 백운 역시 탈속의 정신적 고양 상태라기보다는 세속적 욕망의 연장과 지속을 위한 상상적 도피처로서의 성격이 강하다. 이처럼 욕망과 감성에 좌우되는 두쌍성의 면모는 유가적 이념에 근거한 사대부의 지배적 남성성에 위배된다. 하지만 위계에 기반한 남성성이 약화된 대신 여성들을 중심으로 탈경계적이고 정서적인 관계가 부각된다. 이 과정에서 남주인공이 감정과 욕망에 솔직한, 보다 실존적이고 일상적인 모습으로 형상화되는 것은 그동안 부정적인 것으로 치부됐던 새로운 자질들을 긍정적으로 수용하면서 남성성이 재구성되어가는 과정이라고 할 수 있다.

성폭력 피해 경험자를 위한 모바일 앱 사용성 평가

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the usability of the mobile app ‘Allive’ to improve accessibility to resources and mental health services among sexual violence survivors. Participants include survivors of sexual violence as well as service providers at sexual violence crisis intervention centers. The usability test was conducted as a quantitative and qualitative evaluation after study participants used the app in a real-life environment. The results of usability testing highlighted the positive and beneficial impact on mental health function as well as accessibility to essential resources for those who have experienced sexual violence. 본 연구는 성폭력 피해 지원과 관련된 정보 접근성 향상 및 정신건강 증진을 위한 모바일 앱 ‘올리브’의 사용성 평가를 목적으로 한다. 사용성 평가는 성폭력 피해 지원기관 종사자와 성폭력 피해 경험자를 대상으로 실생활 환경에서 앱 사용 후 양적·질적 평가로 진행되었다. 사용성 평가 결과 앱 개발 목적인 정보 접근성에 있어 피해 회복을 위한 과정의 중요성을 인식하게 하고, 피해 회복에 유용한 지식을 습득할 수 있다고 평가하였다. 정신건강 증진 기능으로 자신의 심리 상태를 파악하고, 심리 상태가 나아지는 데 필요한 활동에 동기부여가 된 것으로 평가하였다. 반면 리마인더 등 사용자 맞춤 설정 추가, 시청각 자료 활용 등 심미성 개선, 공공 차원에서 앱 활용 모색, 피해 경험자 간 커뮤니티 장으로의 확장과 같은 개선과제가 제시되었다. 본 연구를 통해 성폭력 피해 경험자의 서비스 접근성 향상을 위한 모바일 앱의 유용성과 다양한 비대면 서비스의 가능성을 논하는 데 근거자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

<옥원재합기연>의 양성구유(兩性具有) 형상화에 담긴 존재적 성찰

인터섹스 혹은 간성은 자연스러운 생물학적 현상에 해당함에도 불구하고 아직도 사회적 편견이나 제도적 소외로부터 자유롭지 못하다. 그런데 18세기 소설로추정되는 <옥원재합기연>에서 양성구유에 대한 흥미로운 형상화가 이루어지고있어서 주목된다. 이 작품에는 양성구유자로서 정체를 숨기고 살던 사람을 남성으로 고쳐주고후원하여 새로운 삶을 살아가도록 도와주는 삽화가 등장한다. 그런데 이 과정에서 양성구유자에 대해 공감적 태도를 보이며 발화의 주체로 삼음으로써 당대 통념을 넘어서고 있다. 이분법적 성 규범을 엄격히 고수했던 조선 사회에서 양성구유자는 사회를 교란시키는 위협 요소로 간주되어 제거 대상이 되거나 음란한성적 호기심의 대상으로 취급되었다. 그런데 이 소설의 경우 통속적 재미를 더하기 위해 이러한 소재를 차용했음에도 불구하고 차별적 통념을 넘어선 진지한문제의식을 보여주고 있다. 이와 같은 태도는 상대적 인식을 바탕으로 공감과 소통을 추구하는 작품의 지향성과 관련된다. 양성구유자에 대한 삽화는 이러한 지향이 주변 인물들에게까지 긍정적으로 확장되는 사례로서 유의미하다. 비록 양성구유자를 남성으로 변모시킴으로써 그 자체로 인정하는 데까지 이르지 못한 한계를 지닐지라도 보수적 성문화와 이에 기반한 차별적 젠더 규범을 내면화했던 조선후기 사회에서 이와 같은 내용의 소설이 창작되었다는 점은 높이 평가할 만하다. 위계적 이분법에 근거한 젠더 규범이 여전히 사회적 이슈로 다루어지고 있는 현실을 감안할때 인터섹스에 대한 적극적 인식 전환은 정상과 비정상을 구분 짓는 모든 정치적 담론과 규범에 대해 확장적 논의를 촉구할 수 있다는 점에서도 의미가 있을것이다. Intersexuality or hermaphroditism, despite being a natural biologicalphenomenon, still remains the target of social prejudices andinstitutional marginalization. However, the presumed 18th-centurynovel, <Okwonjaehapgiryeon>, offers an intriguing representation ofintersexuality. This literary work depicts the support towards an individual living asintersex, concealing their identity, to transform into a male and embarkon a new life. Throughout its narrative, the novel demonstrates anempathetic attitude towards intersex individuals, thereby going againstthe prevailing norms of its contemporary society. In the context ofJoseon society, intersex individuals were often perceived as a disruptivethreat to society, therefore they often became targets for removal orwere subjected to lascivious curiosity. Despite utilizing this material forconventional entertainment, the novel exhibits a profound awarenessthat transcends discriminatory beliefs. This attitude correlates with the work’s inclination towards empathyand communication based on relative awareness. Moreover, the novel’srepresentations of intersexuality serve as significant instances of thepositive extension of this inclination to surrounding characters. Although the novel may not fully acknowledge intersex individuals bythemselves as it effectively ransforms the only intersex individual intoa male, it is valuable that it was created in late Joseon society, whichentrenched conservative gender norms and discrimination. Considering that hierarchical gender norms continue to be a socialissue, this novel is meaningful because a proactive shift inacknowledging intersexuality can prompt comprehensive discussionsconcerning all political discourses and norms that distinguish betweenthe normal and the abnormal.
