1. Objectives This research uses the DNA chip, which includes 16,383 gene code, and various statistic prediction way that shows objectification index for the objectification of constitution diagnosis. 2. Methods Drawing blood whose constitution is confirmed, and analyze its gene information by using 1.7k DNA chip to find the gene correlation through multivariate statistical method. 3. Results and Conclusions Distinctive genes such as AK001919, U09384, NM_001805, X99962, NM_004796, AK026738, AL050148, BC002538, AK027074, AK026219, AF087962, AL390142, NM_015372, AL157466, NM_002446, AK024523, NM_014706, NM_014746 and AL137544 were related to Taeumin; AL157448, NM_005957, NM_005656, NM_017548, AK027246, NM_003025, NM_012302 and NM_005905 were represented in Soeumin, while AK026503, AF147325, NM_002076, AF147307, AK001375, NM_003740, NM_005114, AB007890, NM_005505, NM_015900, NM_014936, Z70694, AB023154, U52076, NM_004360, NM_005835, NM_017528, AF087987, NM_014897, AK021720, NM_006420, AJ277915, AK002118 and AK021918 were for Soyangin. This study figured out the possibility to develop the prediction system by sorting each constitution's gene, and research each constitution's distinctive character of manifestation pattern.

The application of Shinkihuan umder the combination of configuration, color, pulse and symptoms leads to the following conclusions: 1. Shinkihuan is applied to the diseases related with lung, kidney and the spine: difficult urination of old people, shortness of breath, hematuria, loss of voice, distorted vision, deafness of deficiency, hemorrhoids, thirst, carbuncle, suppurative infection, children's retardation of walking and noma, etc... 2. The effect of Shinkihuan is as follows. It nourishes the lung, replenishes the kidney fluid, relieves the phlegm, tranquilizes fever due to deficiency of blood and reinforces the liver. 3. Shinkihuan is appropriate for the persons with the following characteristics in configuration: male, tall, thin, dam-typed, inverted-triangular, prominent nosed and dry.

보두산(寶豆散)메탄올 추출물의 항염증 효과

Objectives: Inflammation is important event in the development of vascular diseases including hypertension, atherosclerosis, and restenosis. Bodusan (BDS) was a traditional Korean herbal medicine and widely used in treatment of gastrointestinal complaint and stomach ulcer. The aim of this study was to determine whether BDS and its components inhibit production of nitrite, PGE2 and proinflammatory cytokines in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Methods: Cytotoxic activity of BDS and its components on RAW 264.7 cells was using 5-(3-caroboxymcrophages.eth-oxyphenyl)-2H-tetra-zolium inner salt (MTS) assay. The nitric oxide (NO) production was measured by Griess reagent system. And proinflammatory cytokines were measured by ELISA kit. The levels of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) expression were detected by western blot. Results: Our results indicated that BDS and its components significantly inhibited the LPS-induced NO and PGE2 production. Moreover, BDS and its components inhibited iNOS and COX-2 expression accompanied by an attenuation of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and MCP-1 formation in macrophages. Conclusions: These results indicate that BDS and its components have potential as an anti-inflammatory agent.

다문화사회의 갈등과 기여에 관한 고찰

우리는 체류외국인이 153만 명에 이르는 다문화사회에 살고 있다. 이에 따라 다문화사회에 관한 담론도 그 어느 때 보다 활발하고 정부지원도 적극적이다. 그러나 이민자사회통합정책에 대한 역사가 일천하고 재정적·환경적 한계로 대상자 모두에 대한 사회통합차원의 다문화정책은 아직 시행하지 못하고 결혼이민자 가정을 중심으로 지원정책을 펴고 있지만 능력에 따른 차등적 지원이 아닌 일방적 지원과 부처간 중복지원이라는 이유로 비판을 받기도 한다. 사회통합정책이 성공하려면 다문화사회에 신속한 대응과 적응이 필요하다. 중앙정부와 지방정부는 역할분담을 통해 효과적이고 체계적으로 정책을 수립하여 시행해야 한다. 다문화사회 구성원이 종래 단순기능 분야 종사자 중심에서 정치가·교수·공무원·결혼이민자·유학생·투자가 등 활동유형별로 다양화 되고 있다. 게다가 이주자의 유입증가는 인구구조를 변화시키고 부족한 경제활동 인구를 충원시키면서 인종적·문화적 갈등을 피할 수 없는 환경으로 변화시키고 있다. 그 동안 주로 문제점을 지적하는 담론이 이루어졌다면 이제는 대안을 제시하는 방향으로 포커스가 맞춰져야 한다. 대안 없는 문제점 제기는 공염불로 그칠 우려가 있기 때문에 정부는 다양한 비판과 대안에 대해 적극적으로 검토하고 수용하는 자세가 필요하다. 미래의 이민정책은 사회통합적 차원의 이민정책이 되어야하고 재외동포를 우수인재로 활용하는 방안도 검토할 만하다. 과거의 이민정책이 국경심사와 체류관리에 집중이 되어 규제와 통제였다면 앞으로는 사회통합과 경제적 효과를 가미시켜야 하는 복합적 이민정책으로 바뀌어야 한다. 사회통합정책은 이주자 자녀의 교육과 정체성, 현역입대의 영향 등을 다양한 각도에서 포괄적이고 체계적으로 검토되어야 한다. 다문화사회는 피할 수 없는 세계적 흐름이자 순리이며, 그 나라 발전에 적지 않은 영향을 미치기 때문에 어느 국가나 성공적인 사회통합을 기대하고 있다. 그러기 위해서는 이민자와 원주민은 서로의 문화를 인정하고 포용해야 하며, 정부는 다양한 프로그램을 개발하고 지원해야 할 것이다. We live in a multicultural society in which there are 1.53 millions residing in Korea. Under the circumstances, the discussions regarding the multicultural society are more activated than ever and the assistance of the government is positive. The history on the migrants social integration policy is only a short time, and, due to the financial and environmental limits, the multicultural policy in a social integration level has not been implemented, but has been made with married migrants as the assistance objects. Besides, its policy has been attacked because of bilateral assistance instead of the graded assistance and overlapping assistance among government organizations. In order to succeed in a multicultural policy, the government need to specially cope with and adapt itself to a multicultural society. The central and local governments should establish and implement the policy effectively and systematically by dividing their roles. Constituents of multicultural society have been various ranging to politicians, professors, government officials, married migrants, students, investors etc., from pure labor field of the past. Furthermore, the increase of migrants changes into the circumstances which cannot escape the racial and cultural conflict as well as making up for the lack of economic activity population. Until now, the discussions were centered on pointing out problems, but from now on it will have to focus on presenting alternative ideas. Because only to point out problems without substitute proposals is likely to end in an empty talk, the government need to positively consider and listen to a variety of rebukes and proposals. The future immigration policy should be that of social integration level andshould consider making use of overseas ethnic Koreans as professional talents. While the past immigration policy was regulations and control by focusing on border inspection and stay management, the future policy will be inovated into the complex policy including social integration and economic effects. The social integration policy is to comprehensively and systematically consider the effects etc., of education, identity, and military forces entry, of migrants children, with various points of view. The multicultural society is the flow of unavoidable world and reasonableness, and has not a little influence on the development of the country. Accordingly, any nations have expected the successful social integration. For that, migrants and original residents are to recognize and engage different cultures each other, and the government need to develop and assist a variety of programs.

재한 중국 동포 자녀 교육 실태와 정책 과제

사상체질에 따른 신체적, 심리적 특성의 연구

1. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the physical and psychological characteristics of each Sasang type groups which were classified by Sasang medicine specialist. 2. Methods: The subjects were 115 (85.2% of male) university students with $26.8\pm5.4$ yrs. of age and $12.9\pm1.7$ yrs. of education. We can get 30 of Soyang type, 39 of Taeeum type, 46 of Soeum type after the Sasang type classification. Their physical characteristics were measured with Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (Inbody 720, Biospace, Seoul), and psychological characteristics with Temperament and Character Inventory (Maumsarang, Seoul). The general linear model (SPSS 12.0, SPSS Inc, Chicago) were used for the analysis with gender and age as covariance. 3. Results and Conclusions: Taeeum type group ($75.64\pm13.01$, $26.12\pm4.16$, $15.74\pm2.42$, $11.30\pm1.80$, $3.93\pm0.62$, $18.43\pm7.70$) showed significantly bigger weight, intra-cellular water, extra-cellular water, protein, mineral, body fat mass than Soeum type group ($61.32\pm8.56$, $22.54\pm3.87$, $13.70\pm2.15$, $9.74\pm1.68$, $3.35\pm0.51$, $10.79\pm3.97$). In obesity degree such as Body Mass Index and Waist-hip ratio, and circumference measures in chest, waist and hip, we found significant differences in the order of Taeeum>Soyang>Soeum. As a psychological perspectives Soyang type group ($41.90\pm13.32$) has higher NS (Novelty-Seeking) score than Soeum type group ($35.22\pm11.22$) with marginal significance (p=0.052). In sub-scale measurements Soeum type group ($10.61\pm3.69$) has significantly lower value than other two groups in P3 (Ambition). The results of present study showed that Taeeum type by specialist has same physical characteristics as previously reported QSCC II based studies. Temperament profile of each Sasang type group will serve as an important evidence for further study showing that the Sasang typology has biological basis.

소양인 형방도적산과 양격산화탕의 항 스트레스효과에 관한 실험적 연구

1. Objective This study was done to identify the anti-stress effect of Hyeongbangdojeok-san (HDS), Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang(YST) in Soyangin. 2. Methods Experimental animals were composed of YST, HDS+stress groups which were administered each by 200mg/kg, 400mg/kg and the Saline+stress group. On the 1st day, making the rats forced swim and on the 2nd day, applying Forced swimming test to the rats. After FST, the levels of Corticosterone in the blood were measured. For the study of learning retardation, memory ability and anxiety reaction, experimental animals were composed of YST, HDS+restraint stress groups which were administered each by 400mg/kg, no stress group and the Saline+restraint stress group. Restraint stress were applied 2 hours a day for 3 weeks. On the last day of the 3rd week, Elevated Plus Maze(EPM) was applied to the groups and Morris Water Maze(MWM) was applied to the groups for 7 days. 3. Results 1. As the results of measuring FST which reflects depression, the YST+stress group and the HDS+stress group showed significant effect in comparison with the Saline+stress group. The levels of Corticosterone in the blood were decreased only in the 400mg/kg YST+stress group. 2. As the results of measuring how long EPM which reflects anxiety reaction stayed in the open arm, there was the trend which can suppress anxiety reaction in the HDS+restraint stress group bur no statistical significance. But there was any suppression of anxiety reaction in the YST+restraint stress group. 3. According to the result of MWM, the saline+restraint stress group showed the learning retardation which means increased time arriving at goal compared to the normal group at the second and third day of measurement. On the contrary, a learning retardation was significantly decreased in the YST+restraint stress group at the third day of measurement. 4. Among the Probe trial test a memory loss occurred in the saline+restraint stress group, but memory ability was significantly increased in the YST+restraint stress group. 4. Conclusion: As the results above, Soyangin Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang has significant influence to the antidepression effect, the learning retardation, the anxiety reaction and also in the Hormone level. Hyeongbangdojeok-san has significant influence to the antidepression effect, in the Hormone level, bur not to the learning retardation and anxiety reaction. prefer to drink cold water, and who are suffering from chronic gastritis.
