Objectives : Kamibojungikgi-tang is one of the most frequently used medical treatment for the allergic rhinitis. The main symptoms of the allergic rhinitis are nasal obstruction, watery rhinorrhea, and sneezing. In this study, we investigated the medical effect of the Kamibojungikgi -tang with intradermal acupuncture treatment on the allergic rhinitis in 10-11 years old children. Methods : For 8 weeks, we administered Kamibojungikgi-tang to 84 patients and treated them with intradermal acupuncture. We checked their serum IgE and examined 10 symptoms of the allergic rhinitis (nasal obstruction, watery rhiorrhea, sneezing, nasal pruritus, hyposmia, quality of life, color of nasal mucosa, edema of nasal mucosa, postnasal drip, and complication). Results : 1. Serum IgE decreased 2.62 point. which showed no significance. 2. Nasal obstruction, watery rhiorrhea, sneezing, nasal pruritus, hyposmia, quality of life, color of nasal mucosa, edema of nasal mucosa, and postnasal drip were improved. (p<0.005) 3. Complication showed no significance. Conclusions : After treatment, we had a lower symptom index scores. Kamibojungikgi-tang with intradermal acupuncture treatment had an effect on the allergic rhinitis.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effects of Dangkisoo-san and acupuncture on a patient with Tension Type headache. Methods : We have given Dangkisoo-san and acupuncture treatment to a patient with Tension Type headache for 8days, and checked changes of symptoms. Main symptoms were numbness and pains in a head and a neck. Results : After treatment, the numbness and pains in a head and a neck were improved considerably. Conclusions : This study shows that Dangkisoo-san and acupuncture are significantly effective in treatment of Tension Type headache.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of Korean Medicine on a patient having vertigo disease. Methods: The patient was treated with Korean medicine, including Bongnyeongbanha-tang (茯?半夏湯) and acupuncture, from October 3, 2015 to October 8, 2015. The Vertigo Score Scale and Numeric Rating Scale were assessed for evaluation. Results: After the treatment, the intensity of vertigo and nausea were decreased and the patient's walking and visual difficulties were improved. Conclusions: Korean Medicine treatment can relieve vertigo symptoms.

Objectives: To report the clinical application and effects of ByeolGab (Trionycis Carapax) pharmacopuncture in patients with primary headache. Method: Three patients who suffered from primary headache were treated with ByeolGab pharmacopuncture and acupuncture for 2 weeks. We used the Henry Ford Headache Disability Inventory (HDI), a six point scale, and a visual analogue scale (VAS) three times and analyzed the results. Result: After treatment with ByeolGab pharmacopuncture, the VAS, HDI, and six point scale scores were improved in all three patients. The symptoms of headache and other symptoms were also improved. Conclusion: ByeolGab pharmacopuncture is an effective treatment for patients complaining of primary headache.

Objectives: The Purpose of this study is to investigate clinical characteristics with 120 patients who have sufferred from headache and were treated. Methods: We classified 120 patients into several groups by International Headache Society(IHS) classification and evaluated the effects of oriental medical therapy on headache. Results: 1. According to the statistics, women patients were more than men. And 50s has highest number of headache patients. 2. In classification by IHS, tension type headache were highest. 3. 24.2% of patients had entered Department of Internal Medicine, Colleage of Oriental Medicine Dongeui Univ for treatment within six month of onset. 4. According to the statistics, headache of whole part has highest number of headache patients. 5. The most number of associated symptoms were nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia etc. 6. The most number of headache patient`s past history were hypertension. 7. In classification by oriental medical differentiation of symptom and signs, the rate of blood deficiency were highest. 8. 64.2% of patients said they were satisfied with treatment, reporting half the frequency of headache or better from before treatment. Conclusions: In conclusion, the present results suggest that oriental medical therapy has effects on headache.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze the propensity and find out the Syndrome Differentiation of teeth-mark tongue by taking survey and body examinations with 178 male patients. 164 patients out of 178 were checked up on Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Accelerated Photoplethysmograpy (APG), Body Composition. This study was also planned to find out the distinctive characteristics of teeth-mark tongue diagnosis and compare differences between Qi-Deficiency and Accumulation of Dampness and Phlegm patients group. Methods : The questionnaire was carried out targeting 178 male with teeth-mark tongue respondents among who had Oriental Health Examination and patients from the 3rd oriental-internal medicine department in Dongeui Hospital from $1^{st}$, March 2005 to $30^{th}$, April 2010. Only 164 patients were checked on HRV, APG and Body composition examinations. Results : It showed that 86 patients had Qi-Deficiency and 78 had Dampness and Phlegm but 14 couldn't be categorized. The major symptoms of Qi-Deficiency compared to Dampness and Phlegm were 'Frequent running nose', 'Soft stool', 'Chronic fatigue', and 'Eyestrain'. On the contrary, Dampness and Phlegm's dominant symptoms were 'Chest discomfort', 'Feeling bloated', 'Back pain', 'Feeling sluggish', and 'Itchy skin'. However, all symptoms were not matched with the Syndrome Differentiation of Qi-Deficiency or Dampness and Phlegm. It also showed that teeth-mark tongue patients' frequent symptoms were 'Stuffy nose', 'Feeling bloated', 'Oliguria', 'Shoulder pain', 'Chronic fatigue' 'Eyestrain' and these symptoms were matched with the Syndrome Differentiation of Qi-Deficiency and Dampness and Phlegm. In the results from this study, there were no significant differences between Qi-Deficiency and Dampness and Phlegm. Conclusions : It is hard to conclude that teeth-mark tongue could be only one to diagnose Qi-Deficiency or Dampness and Phlegm with 3 examinations.
두통(頭痛)의 남녀(男女) 차이(差異)에 관한 임상적(臨床的) 고찰(考察) -《동의보감(東醫寶鑑),기(氣)》의 용약법(用藥法)을 중심(中心)으로-

Objectives: The Aim of this study was to investigate the clinical characteristics of male and female patients who have been suffered from headaches. The investigation was undertaken based on Qi-section(Methods of prescribing oriental herbal medicine) from DongEuiBoGam ( ). Methods: A statistical survey was conducted to compare the difference in clinical characteristics between male and female patients experiencing headaches. Oriental medical Diagnosis was used to classify all parients under the following categories; Qi-deficiency (氣虛), Jing-dificiency (精 ), Food-stagnation (食積), Damp-accumulation (痰飮), Qi-stagnation (氣滯). Patients were treated using acupuncture therapy and herbal medicines. Results: 1. The ratio between male and female patients was about 1:3. 2. It showed that periods of illness were longer in female patients than in male patients. 3. The total number of treatments received was higher in female patients than in male patients. 4. Statistically, most female patients had Metopodynia and Migraines(Rt.), while male patients suffered mostly from Laryngalgia. 5. Male patients had feelings of strain in the head and female patients had splitting headaches. 6. Musculo-skeletal System and General Symptoms were frequently observed in male patients. Digestive System and Nervous System were frequently observed in female patients. 7. Results from oriental medical Diagnosis showed that male patients mostly had Qi-deficiency, Jing-deficiency while the majority of female patients had Food-stagnation, Damp-accumulation, Qi-stagnation. 8. The recovery time for male patients was shorter than it was for female patients. The recurrence rate of the headaches were higher for female patients. Prognosis was better than in female patients in comparison to male patients. Conclusions: The statistical survey conducted was based on Qi-section of DongEuiBoGam. It had significant differences in clinical characteristics between male & femal patients.
