The size of an optical surface can significantly affect the performance of an optical system, and high spatial frequency errors have a greater impact. Therefore, it is crucial to measure the surface figure error with high frequency. To address this, a new method called the a rotational prism stitching interferometer (RPSI) is proposed in this study. The RPSI is a type of stitching interferometer that enhances spatial resolution, but it differs from conventional stitching interferometers in that it does not require the movement of either the mirror tested or the interferometer itself to obtain sub-aperture interferograms. Instead, the RPSI uses a beam expander and a rotating dove prism to select particular sub-apertures from the entire aperture. These sub-apertures are then stitched together to obtain a full-aperture result proportional to the square of the beam expander's magnification. The RPSI's effectiveness was demonstrated by measuring a 40 mm diameter spherical mirror using a three-magnification beam expander and comparingthe results with those obtained from a commercial interferometer. The RPSI achieved surface testing results with nine times higher sampling densitythan the interferometer alone, with a small difference of approximately 1 nm RMS.

Context: Although several cases of intravenous (IV) injection of hydrocarbons with additives have been reported, no report to date has addressed IV isoparaffin intoxication. We describe the first case of chemical pneumonitis and subcutaneous necrosis after IV injection of isoparaffin (C12-C13, 99%) and we describe the chest computed tomography (CT) pattern of chemical pneumonitis after IV hydrocarbon injection. Case details: Following a suicide attempt by IV self-injection of 1 mL of solvent (isoparaffin, 99%) used in his workplace, a 23-year-old man presented with bilateral pleuritic chest pain. Chest CT showed multiple, peripheral, wedge-shaped, ill-defined ground glass opacities with consolidations in both lungs, and bilateral pleural effusion. The patient developed fever and cellulitis around the site of injection, later followed by subcutaneous necrosis. Treatment with antibiotics led to complete resolution of the symptoms and chest imaging findings. Discussion: Isoparaffin causes severe inflammation and necrosis in perivascular tissues. When injected IV, isoparaffin can cause chemical pneumonitis and acute lung injury, mimicking pulmonary infarction on chest CT because lung is the organ bearing the first capillary bed encountered. Concomitant subcutaneous necrosis may be associated with the extravasations. A favorable outcome with minimal residual pulmonary sequelae can be expected if the amount of injected isoparaffin is small.

SiC and Si mixtures dispersed by 0.5~10.0 wt% of Al2O3 and reinforced by SiC whisker were sintered to Si3N4 bonded SiC bodies at 140$0^{\circ}C$ in a N2 gas atmosphere, and the nitridation and mechanical properties of sintered bodies were investigated. From these observation, it is concluded that relative density and bending strength increased with the rising of nitridation and the highest nitridation ratio was obtained for a specimen having 1.5 wt% Al2O3. On the other hand, the amount of $\beta$-Si3N4 in the specimens containing Al2O3 more than 5.0 wt% was increased abruptly and the best in fracture toughness was sintered for a composits having 30 wt% SiC whiskers.
