Ion compositions of 1st and 2nd fractions in rainfall water were investigated in Pusan area. pH value, conductivity, and anion·cation components were measured and analyzed from Fall. 1993 to Spring. 1996. High pH value was found to 6.12 on April 1995 in 1st rainfall(1mm below) because of yellow sand phenomena. To contrast, low pH value was indicated to 4.09 on winter 1993. Removal efficiency of ionic compounds was resulted to Mg^(2+) > Ca^(2+) > NO₃^(-) > K^(+) > SO₄^(2-) > Na^(+) > Cl^(-) > NH₄^(+).

It is necessary to evaluate the location suitability of livestock facilities to guide reasonable livestock. The evaluation system could help plan new livestock facilities in rural areas. The assessment was performed based on location characteristics of livestock facilities such as land utilization around livestock facilities, size of livestock facilities, water and drainage condition, accessibility and distance from roads, floor condition, distance from village and house, direction of livestock facilities, ventilation facilities, animal Waste treatment, and so forth. In this study, location characteristics of livestock facilities were showed each location factors using statistical analysis.

This experiment was carried out under different seeding dates(October 10, Oct. 20 or November 10) and seeding rates (20, 30, 35 ℓ 10a) from 1976 to 1977 in Iri in order to study the suitable seeding date and seeding rate for Jokwang, the newly developed wheat variety, in double cropping paddy field. 1. Number of days to seedling emergence both on Oct. 20 and Oct. 30 were 14 days, but that of Nov. 10 was prolonged due to comparatively low temperature and about 37 days. 2. The heading date and the maturing date seemed to be shortened by 1 or 2 days in accordance with the earlier seeding date and the larger amount of seeding. 3. Number of panicles per square meter seeded on Oct. 20 was 506 which marked the most among the three seeding dates. 30ℓ 10a plot showed the most in panicle number among three seeding rates. 4. Number of grains per panicles was increased by 1 or 2 grains with hastened seeding date, but it was decreased by 2 or 3 grains with the increase in seeding rate. 5. The weight of 1,000 grains of the plots both seeded on Oct. 20 and Oct. 30 was about 38.0 g. and that of Nov. 10 was 35.0g. On the other hand, there were almost negligible differences in 1,000 grains weight between seeding rates at the same seeding date. 6. The yield of the plot seeded on Oct. 20 was 359 ㎏ 10a which marked the highest among the three seeding dates. Among seeding rates, 30 ℓ/10a plot showed the highest yield of 351 ㎏ 10a. However, the highest yield among all treatments, seeding dates and seeding rates, was 382 ㎏ 10a which was obtained from the plot seeded on Oct. 20 with the seeding rate of 30 ℓ/10a. 7. Therefore, it was considered that the suitable seeding date for Jokwang, the newly developed wheat variety, in double cropping paddy field in Iri area was Oct. 20 and its seeding rate was 30ℓ/10a.

레이저 가공시 조사되는 레이저 빔의 특성을 나타내는 변수 - 예를 들면, 빔의 형상, 초점면과 소재사이의 거리, 빔 강도 분포, 빔의 발산각, 실제 빔이 퍼져가는 양상이 이상적인 Gaussian 빔에 비해 얼마나 큰지를 나타내는 beam quality factor 등 - 이 가공결과에 큰 영향을 미치는 것은 경험적으로 잘 알려져 있다. 특히 원적외선 레이저로 천공, 에칭 또는 엑사이머 레이저로 ablation 가공을 수행할 때는 이러한 빔특성 변수의 영향이 극대화된다. 본 연구에서는 중요한 빔특성 변수의 영향을 가능한 독립시켜 정성적 및 정량적으로 파악하기 위해 연속발진 모드의 레이저빔 사용시 열전도에 의한 손실을 고려하였으며, 문제를 단순화해 빔 또는 가공소재의 상대적인 움직임이 없는 천공 (또는 에칭제거)의 경우에 대하여, 수치모사를 통해 여러 가지 빔 변수의 변화가 가공결과에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 레이저 빔의 초점의 위치를 표면에서 멀리하면 가공깊이는 감소하게 되며, 같은 간격일 때는 소재의 내부에 위치시키는 것이 다소 유리하다. 또한 빔의 발산각이 작고, beam quality factor 값이 1에 가까울수록 깊은 가공을 얻을 수 있음을 파악하였다. In laser machining such as drilling with CO_2 or Nd:YAG laser, and etching or ablation with Excimer laser, one of the most important parameters affecting the machining results is known to be beam characteristics. In this paper a study is performed through a numerical simulation with the appropriate model to investigate the effects of beam parameters qualitatively and quantitatively, especially in the process of laser drilling of ceramics and ceramic composites. Results of different beam conditions reveal that the machined hole becomes deeper as (ⅰ) the beam divergence gets smaller,(ⅱ) beam quality factor approaches unity, and (ⅲ) beam focus lies nearer to the surface of the workpiece.
비외상성 두개내 출혈 환자에서 심근손상의 발생과 예후에 미치는 영향

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical significance of myocardial injuries in patients with nontraumatic intracranial hemorrhage by identifying the occurrence of myocardial injury and defining its correlation with subsequent cardiovascular events. Subjects and methods: One hundred twenty-four patients with nontraumatic intracraninal hemorrhage presented to the emergency department within six hours from onset of symptoms were enrolled. Brain CT, serial electrocardiography, and echocardiography were done at the emergency center. Blood samples for troponin I and creatine kinase(CK)-MB were drawn immediately and eight hours after admission, Troponin I and CK-MB were measured using a chemiluminescent immunoassay, respectively. Results: Electrocardiographic and echocardiography abnormalities were found in 65 cases(52.4%) and 21 cases(17%), respectively. Serum troponin I and creative kinase-MB were increased in 35 cases (28.2%) and in 58 cases(46.8%), respectively. Abnormal findings of echocardiography and ECG, as well as elevated levels of serum troponin I and creative kinase-MB, were associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular event and survival. Logistic regression analysis revealed that an abnormal echcocardiographic finding and elevation of serum troponin I were factors associated with the occurrence an adverse cardiovascular event and that electrocardiographic abnormalities and initial mental status were factors associated with poor prognosis. Conclusion: This study reveals that actual myocardial injury develops in a significant proportion of patients with nontraumatic intracranial hemorrhage and that the development of the myocardial injury is associated with an adverse cardiovascular event that occurs during admission.
An Airborne Cycloidal Wind Turbine Mounted Using a Tethered Balloon

This study proposes a design for an airborne wind turbine generator. The proposed system comprises a cycloidal wind turbine adopting a cycloidal rotor blade system that is used at a high altitude. The turbine is mounted on a tethered balloon. The proposed system is relatively easier to be realized and stable. Moreover, the rotor efficiency is high, which can be adjusted using the blade pitch angle variation. In addition, the rotor is well adapted to the wind-flow direction change. This article proves the feasibility of the proposed system through a sample design for a wind turbine that produces a power of 30 kW. The generated wind power at 500 m height is nearly 3 times of that on the ground.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Angiopoietin-1 (Ang1) and its endothelium-specific receptor, tyrosine kinase with Ig and epidermal growth factor homology domain 2 (Tie2), play critical roles in vascular development. Although the Ang1/Tie2 system has been considered a promising target for therapeutic neovascularization, several imitations of large-scale production have hampered the development of recombinant Ang1 for therapeutics. In this study, we produced a fully human agonistic antibody against Tie2, designated 1–4h, and tested the applicability of 1–4h as an alternative to native Ang1 in therapeutic angiogenesis. 1–4h significantly enhanced the phosphorylation of Tie2 in a dose- and time-dependent manner in human Tie2-expressing HEK293 cells and human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Moreover, 1–4h induced the activation of Tie2-mediated intracellular signaling such as AKT, eNOS, MAPK, and Focal Adhesion Kinase p125<SUP>FAK</SUP>. In addition, 1–4h increased the chemotactic motility and capillary-like tube formation of endothelial cells <I>in vitro</I> and enhanced the survival of serum-deprived endothelial cells. Taken together, our data clearly suggest that a human Tie2 agonistic antibody is a potentially useful therapeutic approach for the treatment of several ischemic diseases including delayed-wound healing and ischemic heart and limb diseases.</P>
