Effect of Visceral Adipose Tissue on Atherogenic Lipoprotein-Lipids in Circulating Plasma

본 연구는 고강도 운동이 산화적 DNA 손상의 지표인 8-OHdG 농도가 운동전·후 림파구 및 뇨중에 어떻한 영향을 미치는가를 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 훈련되지 않는 남자 대학생 14명을 선정하여, 최대운동을 실시한 남자 7명을 최대운동군, 최대심박수 80% 운동을 30분간 수행한 남자 7명을 80% HRmax 군으로 나누었다. 피검자들은 정맥혈액과 뇨를 운동전과 후 즉시 수집하였다. 최대운동과 80% HRmax 운동을 실시한 결과, 혈장, 퓨린대사물들은 두 군 모두 유의하게 (p<.05) 증가하였으나, 뇨는 크레아틴 비율로서 Hypoxanthine 농도는 유의하게 (p<.05) 증가하였으나, xanthine 과 요산은 유의하게 (p<.05) 감소하였다. 림프구의 8-OHdG 농도는 두 군 모두 운동전에 비해 약간 증가하였으나, 뇨중의 8-OHdG 농도는 감소한 경향으로 나타났으나, 이러한 결과에서 80% HRmax 운동이 최대운동보다 혈중의 크레아티닌과 퓨린대사산물을 증가 시키고 림프구 및 뇨중에 산화적 DNA 손상을 더 많이 일으키는 것으로 시사되었다. Objective: Little is known about how visceral adiposity and apolipoprotein CⅢ in apo B-containing lipoproteins influence plasma triglyceride (TG) concentrations. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationships of visceral adiposity and apo CⅢ in apo B-containing lipoproteins with plasma TG concentrations in men and women. Procedure: A subgroup of 46 men (n=20, aged 29.1-33.4 yr) and women (n=26. aged 29-1 33.8 yr) were recruited from an ongoing population study at our institution. Anthropometric variables including weight, height, and waist circumference were measured using standard procedures, and body mass index was calculated (kg/m²). Visceral adipose tissue (VAT) was measured with a magnetic resonance imaging. Plasma apolipoproteins, lipids, glucose, and insulin were measured after an overnight fasting. Results: The men had significantly higher waist circumference, glucose, and TC/HDLC ratio than the women, while the women had significantly higher HDLC and apo Al than the men. Of particular, this is the first study to report that VAT and apo CⅢ in apo B-containing lipoproteins were independent predictors in determining plasma TG concentrations in Korean adults. Conclusion: Among the obesity indices measured in the current study. VAT and waist circumference were more consistently associated with the atherogenic lipoproteinlipids(i.e, triacylglycerol, apo CⅢs), fasting insulin and glucose. Consequently, the current study suggest that information on VAT and apo CⅢ in apo B-containing lipoproteins may provide additional information on the development of atherogenic lipid profiles and thereby atherosclerosis.

신체활동은 뇌졸중의 위험을 감소시킨다고 알려져 있다. 뇌허혈은 뇌동맥의 일시적 또는 영구적인 폐쇄를 초래하며, 결국 신경학적 손상을 유발한다. 본 연구를 통하여 트레드밀 운동시작 시점이 뇌허혈을 유발한 모래쥐 해마의 신경세포사멸과 단기기억에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 실험방법으로 step-down inhibitory avoidance task, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) 검사, 그리고 caspase-3와 5-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) 면역조직화학법을 이용하였다. 전 운동군 (pre-exercise)의 모래 쥐는 뇌 허혈 유발 전 7일간 하루에 30분간 트레드밀 운동을 실시하였으며, 후 운동군 (post-exercise)은 뇌허혈 유발 후 7일간 운동을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 일시적 전뇌허혈에 의해 해마의 신경세포사멸과 신경세포의 생성이 증가되었으며 그 결과 단기 기억력이 감소되었다. 트레드밀 운동은 뇌 허혈에 의한 세포사멸과 세포생성을 억제하였으며 그 결과 단기 기억력이 호전되었다. 그러나 전 운동과 후 운동 간에는 트레드밀 운동의 신경세포 보호 작용이 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구결과 허혈 유발 전 트레드밀 운동은 세포사멸에 대하여 보호 효과가 없는 반면 허혈 후 트레드밀 운동은 신경세포 보호 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this research is to provide a useful data for setting the optimal level of exercise by identifying two things; relationship between ratings of perceived exertion, heart rate(HR), oxygen uptake(VO_2), respiratory exchange ratio(RER) during graded exercise test/ Whether it is possible to estimate variables of cardiorespiratory function by utilizing ratings of perceived exertion or HR during graded exercise test. The subjects were 373 middle aged men - 197 of 30's and 176 of 40's- We measured their HR, VO_2, RER, and RPE during graded exercise test. The result from analysis of correlation and analysis of regression is as below 1. There is a significant relationship between RPE and HR for middle aged men of 30's and 40's during graded exercise test. 2. There is a significant relationship between RPE and V0_2 for middle aged men of 30's and 40's during graded exercise test. 3. There is a significant relationship between RPE and RER for middle aged men of 30's and 40's during graded exercise test. 4. There is a significant relationship between HR and VO_2 for middle aged men of 30's and 40's during graded exercise test. 5. There is a significant relationship between HR and RER for middle aged men of 30's and 40's during graded exercise test. Overall, there was a close relationship between RPE and variables of cardiorespiratory function for middle aged men of 30's and 40's during graded exercise test.

The purpose of this study was to provide information for developing a nutrition education program for athletes. Preliminary survey was conducted to evaluate the nutrition knowledge and nutritional status of athletes. The subjects of this survey consisted of 209 national team athletes. The average score of nutrition knowledge was 19.4±3.3 for male athletes, and 20.5±3.2 for female athletes out of possible 27 points. Total daily energy intake was 4160±1503Kcal for male athletes, and 2509±1256Kcal for female athletes. Intakes of Calcium, Iron, Vitamin A, and Vitamin C of female athletes was lower than the RDA. There was not significant relationship among nutrition knowledge and career, education level, and source of nutrition information. It is needed to develop more reasonable nutrition education program for improving an athletic performance.
