      • An Investigation on the Life of Master Won Guk Lee, the Creator of Chung-Do-Kwan

        The purpose of this study is to review (or, investigate) the life of Won Guk Lee. He is the creator of Chung-Do-Kwan, which is one of the five original Taekwondo kwans. Data was gathered from advanced research, newspapers, documentaries, the Internet, magazines, and journals etc. Thus, we were able to create a sequence of events based on the research data. First, we can say that in Won Guk Lee``s career, he created Chung-Do-Kwan and brought Dangsoodo to Korea. These events have had a significant development on Taekwondo. Second, Taekwondo curriculum, which was published by Won Guk Lee, established the foundation of Taekwondo poomsae, as well as giving us the pure spirit of Korean martial arts.

        Preparation of mechanically enhanced supramolecular carbon nanotube (CNT) film using a water‑soluble π–π bonding linker

        Mechanically enhanced supramolecular carbon nanotube (CNT) films were prepared in water by employing the π-electronrich phenyl, naphthalenyl, and pyrenyl end-functionalized polyethylene oxides (PEOs) as supramolecular linkers, followed by vacuum filtration. Among them, the supramolecular CNT film produced by the pyrenyl end-functionalized PEO (PEOPy) exhibited the highest mechanical strength, which was ~ 1.5–2 times higher than that of the CNT films produced using the typical dispersant, Triton X-100, although the functionality of PEO-Py was lower than that prepared using other linkers, and the content of PEO-Py in the CNT films was lower than that obtained using Triton X-100. Fluorescence and UV–Vis spectroscopy demonstrated that the improved mechanical properties of the supramolecular CNT film result from the formation of π–π interactions between the CNT and the pyrene moieties of the PEO-Py linker. Finally, the supramolecular CNT film exhibited a 40–50 dB electromagnetic shielding efficiency through hybridization with silver nanowires.

        한국과 미국 모두 계약자유의 원칙을 바탕으로 사경제 활동을 장려하고 있으며, 이는 임차인, 임대인, 대출자, 그리고 낙찰자의 관계의 바탕이 된다. 미국에서 이러한 관계 가운데, 임대차관련 계약에서 협상의 쟁점이 되는 SNDA (Subordination [우선권 순위변경], Non-Disturbance [경매절차나 우선권 관계없이, 임차인 권한 유지조항], Attornment [낙찰자를 새로운 임대인으로 하여 계속 임대계약을 유지 하겠다는 조항]) 조항은 임차인, 임대인, 대출자(즉, 은행과 같은 임대인의 부동산 물건에 대한 저당권자), 낙찰자간의 관계를 임의로 사전에 정하는, 통상적인 임차인과 대출자 간의 계약서상의 조항이다. 이와 같이 해당 계약에서 정하지 않는 내용은 계약자유, 신의성실의 원칙, 공시제도 등을 통해 각 이해당사자의 이익의 우선순위가 결정 된다. 따로 정하지 않으면, 기본적으로 임차인, 임대인, 대출자, 낙찰자의 관계가 신의성실의 원칙과 공시제도에 따라 결정되기 때문이다. 따로 당사자가 정하는 SNDA 조항에서, 보통 임차인이 우선권 순위변경부분을 양보하는 대신, Non-Disturbance 와 Attornment 조항을 보장 받는다. 임대인이 해당 계약서 체결에 참여할 수 있다. 경매가 개시된 후에도, 낙찰자가, 낙찰자의 선택에 따라, 원활하게 임차인의 지위를 유지하고 임대수익을 계속 유지할 수 있다. 대출자 역시, 이자수익을 유지 한다. 이와 같이, 계약자유의 원칙에 따라, 자유롭게 임차인 또는 대출자에게 유리한 다양한 문구들이 존재해서, 통상적으로 변호사와 같은 대리인을 통해 협상이 이루어지는 문구이다. 한편, 한국에서 강행규정에 속하는 임대차보호법상의 문구와 충돌되는 문구는 구속력이 없으며, 한국에서의 경매절차에 따라 소멸될 수 있는 기존 임대차 계약의 유지 및 소멸 가능성 있는 관련 SNDA 의 조항에 대한 문구의 구속력을 보장하기 위해서는 추가로, Survival Clause 와 Third-party Beneficiary Clause가 필요할 수 있다. 보통 국제적인 우량 임차인이 변호사 선임을 통해 SNDA를 자주 활용하는 것으로 보이나, 일반적인 소액 임차인의 경우에도 임대하는 부동산 물건에 대한 애착이 깊은 경우가 많고, 이 경우, 소액 임차인을 보호하는 국가정책에 따라, SNDA가 유용하게 활용될 수 있다고 본다. SNDA에 대해, 임대인, 대출자, 낙찰자 역시, 이해를 같이 하는 경우가 많을 것이기 때문이다. By operation of law, after foreclosure, the purchaser i.e., the new owner of the foreclosed real property sometimes has no pre-arranged means to continue the lease until the end of the existing lease term according to the tenant’s will to do so in South Korea, as in the U.S. This can be a nightmare for many institutional lenders. Such lenders are interested in having uninterrupted installments payment, secured by uninterrupted lease, until the end of the respective loan agreements. Many purchasers are also interested in getting loans from such lenders and have flexibility to come to the terms of such lenders, trying to prevent possibility of interrupted payment. Many tenants of such property are likewise often interested in continuing lease uninterrupted until the end of the lease term without having to worry about termination of lease after unexpected or even expected foreclosure and like to put such intentions in writing. Such three interested parties may utilize the SNDA, Survival, & Third-party Beneficiary Clauses (collectively, hereinafter, SNDA-ST) in their respective agreements to have their arrangements are well aligned with such respective interests. Absent use of clauses like SNDA-ST, the concept of first-in-time priority will control in South Korea as in the U.S. Consequences without SNDA-ST clauses will not be predictable to bring about outcomes desired by the three interest parties. This piece showcases, for the first time, how the SNDA-ST works in practice in the U.S. and encourages use of the SNDA-ST clauses in respective cross-border as well as purely domestic agreements in South Korea.

        A Study of Consumer-oriented Green Product Acceptance Model

        Green consumer behavior is one of the key issues of contemporary marketing research because our society must use limited resources to satisfy unlimited wants of consumers. Environmental concern among average consumers is also growing consistently. However few marketing disciplines have integrated related issues into their literatures. First, to make up for the weak previous research, this study reviews related literatures about green marketing and green consumer behavior. Second, this study also develops causal relationship model and hypothesis to explain green product acceptance process of consumers. To achieve the research objectives, this study investigates consumers' attitude about green product characteristics and their effects on brand attitude and purchase intention. The empirical part utilizes Korean college student data of 232 samples, which were analyzed by applying statistical methods. In this part, the study reports of the connection between perceived energy efficiency, performance, convenience and attitude for green product. Also the relationship between attitude for green product and purchase intention were proved to be significant. Based on the results, this research presents research implications, limitations and further research directions.

        저자들은 하지 자색반과 고환 통증으로 내원한 알코올성 간경화증 환자에서 LCV의 원인 감별하는 과정에서 HCC와 하대정맥 막성폐쇄를 진단하고 이에 대한 치료 후 LCV의 호전된 증례를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Vasculitis is a heterogeneous group of diseases that destroy blood vessel walls by inflammation. Approximately half of vasculitis cases are idiopathic, but sometimes associated with genetic factors, medicines, chronic infection, autoimmune diseases, and malignancies. Although the mechanism remains unclear, vasculitis secondary to malignancy, also known as paraneoplastic vasculitis, has been reported. It is generally associated with hematologic malignancies rather than solid malignancies and commonly presents as leukocytoclastic vasculitis or polyarteritis nodosa. We experienced a case of leukocytoclastic vasculitis in a patient with hepatocellular carcinoma and membranous obstruction of the inferior vena cava. Here, we report this case with a brief review of literature. (J Rheum Dis 2015;22:322-326)

        With the start of T-DMB service, diverse multimedia broadcasting services became available in the high-speed mobile environment. In addition to high-quality digital radio (audio) and television (video), diverse data services, such as Dynamic Label Segment (DLS), JPEG Slideshow (SLS), Broadcast Web Site (BWS), Traffic and Travel Information (TTI), interactive service using Binary Format for Scenes (BIFS), and Visual Radio, are being serviced. Currently, there is an increase in demand in the market for T-DMB monitoring system that can support all the data service available. In this paper, we present T-DMB monitoring systems that can simultaneously decode 6 services of different format within the two ensemble, through suitable algorithms and multi-thread techniques.

        Growth Inhibition of Colon Cancer through Inactivation of STAT3 Pathway by IL-10 and IL-1ra Released from Murine Macrophage

        The objective of this study was to determine the effect of macrophages on growth of human colon cancer cells. The results showed that co-culture of colon cancer cells with macrophages inhibited the growth of colon cancer cells (HCT116 and SW620) depending on the number of macrophages, RAW 264.7 cells, and activated THP-1 cells accompanied by down regulation of pSTAT3 in cancer cells. We also found that expression and release of cancer cell growth inhibitory cytokines, IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1ra) and IL-10, was increased in macrophages. Blocking of the STAT3 pathway with specific inhibitor and siRNA of STAT3 abolished the growth of colon cancer cells and expression of IL-1ra and IL-10. In addition, neutralization of IL-1ra and IL-10 with antibodies resulted in reversal of macrophage-induced inhibition of cancer cell growth. These data showed that IL-1ra and IL-10 released from macrophages inhibit growth of colon cancer cells through inhibition of the STAT3 pathway

      • S-344 : The Role of Skeletal Muscle Mass in Development of Metabolic Syndrome

        Introduction: It has been well known that abdominal adiposity is related with insulin resistance and greater risk of metabolic disorder. Skeletal muscle plays central role in insulin mediated glucose disposal of whole body, but we only know a little about the association between skeletal muscle mass and MetS (MetS). The aim of this study is to clarify the clinical role of skeletal muscle mass in developing MetS through using skeletal muscle parameters by body impedance analysis (BIA). Methods: 1,042 healthy adults aged from 20 to 75 years who visited Yeungnam university health promotion center from Jun. 2008 to Jun. 2010 were enrolled. 204 subjects who had prior MetS or chronic disease that can affect to skeletal muscle mass were excluded. After 24 months from baseline, the metabolic parameters were assessed and the development of MetS was diagnosed using modified NCEP-ATP III criteria. From the BIA (Inbody 720), we obtained skeletal muscle mass (SMM, Kg), body fat mass (BFM, Kg), and visceral fat area (VFA, cm2). Then, we had defined as follows; percent of skeletal muscle mass (SMM%, %): SMM (kg)/weight (Kg), skeletal muscle index (SMI, Kg/m2): SMM (Kg)/height (m)2, skeletal muscle to body fat ratio (MFR): SMM (kg)/BFM (Kg) and skeletal muscle to visceral fat ratio (SVR, Kg/cm2): SMM (Kg)/VFA (cm2) Results: Mean follow up periods were 28.7±5.4 months. Among total 838 subjects (46.9±9.9 years, M:F=477:361), 88 (10.5%) were newly diagnosed MetS. 5th quintile of the SMM%, MFR and SVR was associated with decreased risk of development of MetS after adjusting for confounding factors. Conclusion: Decreased skeletal muscle mass may play critical role in development of the MetS and not absolute amount of skeletal muscle mass but relative ratio to body composition may be more important.

      • 소아 심장 CT 검사시 Dual Source CT의 High pitch mode를 이용한 선량감소에 관한 연구

        I. Purpose This study examines if accurate images can be realized with less dose than sequential mode, one of the existing methods applying DSCT’s high-pitch mode in pediatric cardiography. II. Materials and Methods For 20 patients who came to our hospital from Jan. 1 to Jun. 30, 2011, a test was carried out using MDCT 128 channel dual source; Somatom Definition Flash (Siemens Medical System: Germany). As the test method, the veins of the lower limbs of the patients were secured and contrast medium of 7ml was injected at 0.3ml/s anda CT scan was carried out about 36 s. later. Af first, sequential mode was used, and then high-pitch mode was followed as follow-up examination. The DLP (Dose Length Product) provided by the equipment and effective dose were compared for the assessment of the dose exposed to the patients, after the CT scan. The effective does was calculated by multiplying children’s chest index: 0.021 of the effective dose rate of EUR16262 (European Guide) to DLP value. The images scaned in high-pitch method were compared and assessed quantitatively by a heart decoding specialist and 2 radiologists if the typical diseases of pediatric cardiacs such as coarctation of aorta, atresia of the pulmonary artery and Tetralogy of Fallot can be assessed. III. Results When it was compared to sequential mode, one of the existing cardiography, the effective dose exposed to the patient had decrease by 32% in high-pitch mode. As a result of a comparison with imaging assessment, it was also evaluated as a better imaging than sequential mode IV. Conclusion Pediatric Cardiography using high pitch in Dual source MDCT showed superior effects on the reduction of exposed does than sequential mode, which is considered a useful testing method. 목적 본 연구에서는 소아 심장 검사 시 DSCT의 High-pitch mode를 적용하여 기존의 검사방법 중 하나인 Sequential mode보다 적은 선량으로도 정확한 영상을 구현할 수 있는지 알아본다. 대상 및 방법 2011년 1월 1일부터 6월 30일까지 본원에 내원한 20명의 환자를 대상으로 하여 MDCT 128 channel dual source; Somatom Definition Flash(Siemens medical system: Germany) 장비를 사용하여 검사를 시행하였다. 검사방법은 환자의 하지에 정맥을 확보하고 조영제를 0.3 ml/s로 7ml를 주입한 후 36초 후에 CT검사를 하였다. 처음에는 Sequential mode로 검사한 후 추적 검사할 땐 High-pitch mode로 검사한다. 환자가 받은 피폭선량의 평가는 선량평가는 CT검사 후 장비에서 제공하는 DLP(dose length product)와 유효선량(effective dose)를 비교하였다. 유효선량은 DLP 값에 EUR16262(European Guide) 유효선량비 중 소아 흉부 지수 0,021을 곱하여 계산하였다. 검사한 영상을 심장 판독 전문의 1명과 방사선사 2명이 high-pitch mode로 검사한 영상을 소와 심장의 대표적 질환인 대동맥협착증, 폐동맥 폐쇄증, 팔로씨 사증을 평가할 수 있는지 비교하여 정성적으로 평가하였다. 결과 기존의 심장 검사방법 중 하나인 Sequential mode와 비교했을 때 High pitch mode로 검사했을 때에 32%의 선량 감소 효과가 있었다. 또한 영상 평가 비교 결과 Sequential mode 보다 좋은 영상으로 평가되었다. 결론 Dual source MDCT로 소아심장 검사를 할 때 high pitch mode를 이용하면 sequential mode로 검사했을 때보다 환아가 받는 피폭선량은 낮고 더 우수한 영상을 획득하여 심장질환을 진단하는데 유용한 검사법으로 사료된다.

        평면 레이저유도 형광법을 이용한 부상화염의 특성 연구

        Characteristics of the lifted flame which is generated by issuing of the fuel through the miniature nozzle, d = 0.164 mm, are studied using the planar laser induced fluorescence technique. OH radical is excited on the $Q_{1}$(8) line of the $A^{2}$.SIGMA.$^{+.leq.X2}$ .PI.(1, 0) band transition (283.55 nm) and LIF signals are captured at the bands of (0, 0) and (1, 1) transition (306 ~ 326 nm) using the filters and ICCD camera. Hydroxyl radical (OH) profile for nozzle attached flame shows that OH radical populations at the flame sides and flame tip are larger than those at the base. But for the lifted flame (tribrachial flame) case, those are larger at the flame base than at the flame tip and flame sides. The OH radical is more dense near the center line of flame base at the blowing out. This fact proves the Chung and Lee's blowout theory-blowout occurs when the flame is anchored at the flame axis. axis.
