This study will examine educational satisfaction on Estheticians who completed hygiene education, conduct survey on demands for educational programs which are required, and provide basic data for effective operation and qualitative improvement of skin beauty care hygiene education. Based on the above results, technique education by applying the recent trend in occupational intelligence should be performed as a way for improving satisfaction of hygiene education for learners. In particular, education should be prepared to increase the association with practical job in the general education.

Lipoxygenase (LOX) is the key enzyme involved in the regio- and stereoselective synthesis of oxylipins. The oxylipins, a group of structurally diverse and biologically active oxygenated molecules, are essential signaling messengers involved in human physiological responses. Herein, we discovered bacterial LOX from Enhygromyxa salina (Es-LOX) with unique regiospecificity. C18-polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) were converted to 9S-form products, indicating that the regiospecificity of Es-LOX differs from that of other bacterial LOXs. The catalytic efficiency (kcat/KM) was the highest for Linoleic acid. The kcat/KM of linoleic acid was 1.51 s<SUP>-1</SUP> μM<SUP>-1</SUP>, which was 2.4-fold higher than the second favored substrate ɣ-linolenic acid. The Es-LOX was engineered to improve the solubility by fusion with maltose binding protein (MBP), which led to the synthesis of target products with high-conversion. For instance, 100 mM linoleic acid was transformed into 83 mM 9Shydroxy-(10E,12Z)-octadecadienoic acid by the recombinant Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) pb4-Es-LOX and tris(2-carboxyethyl)-phosphine (TCEP). In addition, we produced the secondary fatty alcohol [i.e., 8S-hydroxy-(9E,11Z)-heptadecadiene] from the hydroxy fatty acid [i.e., 9S-hydroxy-(10E,12Z)-octadecadienoic acid] by using a single whole-cell biocatalyst, coexpressing Es-LOX and photoactivated decarboxylase from Chlorella variabilis. This study will contribute to the development of biotransformation processes for the synthesis of diverse fatty acid derivatives.

Background/Aims: Data regarding the prognosis of early esophageal cancer are lacking. This study investigated the long-term outcomes and factors affecting the survival of patients with mucosal esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (T1aESCC). Methods: We analyzed the clinical and tumor-specific parameters of 263 patients who received surgical resection (SR; n=63) or endoscopic resection (ER; n=200) for T1aESCC. Underlying comorbidities were scored using the Charlson comorbidity index (CCI). Overall survival (OS) was the primary outcome, and multivariate regression analysis was performed to predict factors for OS. Results: Of the study patients (age, 64.5±8.0 years), the CCI was 1.0±1.4 in the ER group and 0.6±0.9 in the SR group (p=0.107). The 5-year OS rate during follow-up (54.4±20.4 months) was 85.7% (ER group, 86.8%; SR group, 82.4%; p=0.631). The cumulative 5-year incidence of esophageal cancer recurrence was 10.5% in the ER group (vs 0% in the SR group). The overall mortality rate was 12.9% (ER group, 12.0%; SR group, 15.9%; p=0.399). The most common cause of mortality was second primary cancers in the ER group (75%) and organ dysfunction or postoperative complications in the SR group (70%). According to multivariate analysis, only CCI was significantly associated with OS (p< 0.001). The 5-year OS rate in patients with a CCI >2 and in those with a CCI ≤2 was 60.2% and 88.2%, respectively (p<0.001). The treatment method (ER vs SR) was not a significant affecting factor (p=0.238). Conclusions: The long-term prognosis of patients with T1aESCC was significantly associated with underlying comorbidities. (Gut Liver 2021;15:705-712)
Expression of the hippo signaling effectors LATS1/2, P-YAP, YAP and TAZ in pilomatricoma

Background: Pilomatricoma (PM) is a tumor related to the hair follicle that differentiates toward the hair matrix. The Hippo pathway is a signaling pathway that can control the size of organs. Hippo pathway components are known to be expressed in hair matrix cells, and an increase in Yes-associated protein (YAP) expression was found in abnormally large PMs. However, there has been little study about which other factors of Hippo pathway were expressed in PM. Objectives: We investigate the expression of components of the Hippo pathway to study their role in PM development. Methods: In paraffin section of tissue obtained from 24 patients who were pathologically confirmed as PM lesions, large tumor suppressors 1 and 2 (LATS1 and LATS2), phospho-YAP (P-YAP), YAP and transcriptional co-activator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ) expression were analyzed. Results: In immunochemical expression, YAP was significantly expressed in PM compared to negative control. YAP immune response was strongly expressed in basal cells, and transient cells was weak in the nucleus and moderate in the cytoplasm, and ghost cells was weakly expressed. TAZ showed similar results with YAP expression. LATS 1/2 and P-YAP were expressed weakly. Conclusion: Despite weak expression of LATS 1/2, P-YAP, strong expression of YAP and TAZ indicates that YAP and TAZ were activated by different methods independent of the Hippo pathway. It is conceivable that the trans cofactors of YAP and TAZ may influence the tumorigenesis of PMs.
Contralateral Pulmonary Resection after Pneumonectomy

Background: Contralateral pulmonary resection after pneumonectomy presents considerable challenges, and few reports in the literature have described this procedure. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of all patients who underwent contralateral lung resection following pneumonectomy for any reason at our institution between November 1994 and December 2020. Results: Thirteen patients (9 men and 4 women) were included in this study. The median age was 57 years (range, 35–77 years), and the median preoperative forced expiratory volume in 1 second was 1.64 L (range, 1.17–2.12 L). Contralateral pulmonary resection was performed at a median interval of 44 months after pneumonectomy (range, 6–564 months). Surgical procedures varied among the patients: 10 underwent single wedge resection, 2 were treated with double wedge resection, and 1 underwent lobectomy. Diagnoses at the time of contralateral lung resection included lung cancer in 7 patients, lung metastasis from other cancers in 3 patients, and tuberculosis in 3 patients. Complications were observed in 4 patients (36%), including acute kidney injury, pneumothorax following chest tube removal, pneumonia, and prolonged air leak. No cases of operative mortality were noted. Conclusion: In carefully selected patients, contralateral pulmonary resection after pneumonectomy can be accomplished with acceptable operative morbidity and mortality.
키틴 첨가가 곤충병원성 곰팡이 Beauveria bassiana 포자의 병원성에 미치는 영향

목화진딧물은 오이, 고추, 수박 등 하우스 재배 작물에 큰피해를 주는 중요한 해충의 하나이다. 최근 들어 화학농약의 대체 방제 수단으로 곤충병원성 곰팡이를 이용한 방제의 중요성이 증가하고 있으나, 곰팡이를 이용한 해충방제는 느린 살충력과 균일하지 못한 방제 효과로 기대만큼 증가하지 못하고 있다. 이러한 단점 극복을 위하여 본 연구에서는 목화진딧물에 살충성을 보이는 곤충병원성 곰팡이 Beauveria bassiana를 키틴 또는 식용오일이 첨가된 배지에 배양시 살충력증진 효과 검정을 실시하였다. 키틴이나 식용오일이 첨가된배지의 배양액과 배양여액의 살충율은 키틴 또는 오일이 첨가되지 않은 배양액 또는 배양여액보다 목화진딧물에 대한 살충력이 낮았다. 실험에 사용된 배지들 중에서는 AD 배지의 배양액과 배양여액의 살충률이 다른 배지에 비해 높은 것으로 나타났다. Cotton aphid is one of the most destructive insect pests in greenhouse, especially cultivating cucumber, pepper and watermelon. As alternative pest control agents the importance of entomopathogenic fungi is increasing. However, usage of mycopesticides are not increasing we have been expecting because of slow and fluctuating mortality. Therefore, in this study we conducted bioassays to select media of a Beauveria bassiana isolate which can produce spores or culture filtrate of high virulence against 3rd instar of Aphis gossypii when chitin or oil was added in media. The culture filtrates and culture fluids from media amended with colloidal chitin or oil showed lower mortality of the aphid than culture filtrate or culture fluid without chitin or oil. Control efficacy of culture fluids or culture filtrate was highest with AD medium compared with other media.

세계적으로 불균형적 인구구조가 가속화되고 있는 시점에서 정부는 인력 부족을 해결하고 국가 성장 동력을 확보하기 위한 다양한 정책들을 실행하고 있다. 이러한 배경 하에 개발된 몽골의 비전문 취업근로자 한국 체류 자격을 위한 글로벌 로컬 교육 프로그램 ‘K-EDU MON CENTER’의 CI(Corporate Identity, 이하 CI)를 디자인, 개발하였다. CI이론, ‘K-EDU MON CENTER’의 현황, 유사 CI/BI 개발 사례 분석을 통해 디자인 개발의 프로세스를 구축하였으며 사용자에게 특정한 인상과 인식을 제공하고 조직의 목표와 가치를 반영한 CI 베이직시스템과 응용시스템을 개발하였다. 통합된 이미지 구축을 통해 개발된 CI를 사용자 커뮤니케이션과 다양한 마케팅에 활용할 수 있게 되었다. The world's disproportionate population structure is accelerating. As a result, the government is implementing various policies to ease the shortage of human resources and improve national growth engines. We designed the CI(Corporate Identity) of K-EDUMON CENTER, a global local education program for Mongolian non-professional workers to qualify for stay in Korea. We have established a design development process through CI theory analysis, current status of “K-EDUMONNTER”, and similar CI/BI development cases. We have developed CI basic systems and applications that provide users with specific impressions and perceptions and reflect organizational goals and values. Integrated image building enables the developed CI to be utilized for user communication and various marketing activities.
