Analysis of signs and pathology of H5N1-infected ducks from the 2010-2011 Korean highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak suggests the influence of age and management practices on severity of disease.

<P>We compared the clinical signs, histopathological lesions and distribution of viral antigens among infected young (meat-type) and older (breeder) ducks that were naturally infected with the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) virus during the 2010-2011 Korean outbreak. The meat-type ducks had a high mortality rate (30%) and showed severe neurological signs such as head tremors and paresis. In contrast, HPAI-infected breeder ducks had minimal clinical signs but a decreased egg production rate. The histopathological characteristics of infected meat-type ducks included necrotic lesions of heart and brain, which may have primarily contributed to the high mortality rate. In contrast, the breeder ducks only presented necrotic splenitis, and viral antigens were only detected in the trachea, lungs and spleen. Younger ducks had a high viral titre in the organs, high levels of viral shedding and a high mortality rate after experimental HPAI virus infection. Compared to the breeder ducks, the meat-type ducks were raised in smaller farms that had poor quarantine and breeding facilities. It is therefore possible that better biosecurity in the breeder farms could have reduced the infection dose and subsequently the severity of the disease. Thus, age and management may be the influencing factors for HPAI susceptibility in ducks.</P>

In this paper, the design and implementation of VODS is descributed. VODS is an object-oriented database design support system. VODS supports the whote database design ateps according to the EOMT(extended OMT). EOMT as an object-oriented database design methodology is deviced by extening the object model of OMT(Object Modeling Technique) for supporting information navigations to manipulate hypermedia objects. Database designers can do the whole design steps by clicking mouse buttons on the appropriate icons or commands from the initial screen mode.

Toxocara canis is a gastrointestinal helminthes of dogs found all over the world. When dogs ingest the infectious eggs of Toxocara canis, the eggs hatch and larvae penetrate the intestinal wall carried by migration to a wide variety of tis-sues. Despite its zoonotic effects, there have been few reports on dogs diagnosed as canine ascaridiasis in Korea. In this report, we present a case of canine toxocariasis by histopathologic finding and PCR assay. H&E stain showed granulomatous inflammation and intralesional larva in organs and even the cortex of the cerebellum. Toxocara canis was confirmed in the PCR assay where DNZ was extracted from heart, liver and cerebellum.

상장폐지 발생 후 업종 내 계속상장기업의 재무적 안정성

본 연구에서는 상장폐지의 발생이 동 업종 내 계속상장기업의 재무정책에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 상장폐지는 업종 전반에 대한 부정적 신호로 작용하여 경영 불확실성 증가와 자금조달비용이 상승이 예상됨에 따라 계속상장기업은 보수적인 재무정책을 펼칠 수 있다. 반면에 경쟁사의 상장폐지는 산업 경쟁도를 하락시켜 계속상장기업으로 하여금 보다 적극적인 투자정책을 펼칠 유인으로 작용할 수도 있다. 본 연구는 위와 같은 상반된 가설을 검증하였다. 상장폐지 원인을 외감 전환, 폐업 및 피합병 등으로 나누어 분석한 결과 코스피 상장기업은 업종 내 외감 전환 및 폐업에 의한 상장폐지 발생 시 현금보유성향을 강화하고 레버리지를 낮추는 보수적인 재무정책을 견지하는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 코스닥 상장기업은 현금보유성향을 낮추고 레버리지를 높이는 적극적인 재무정책을 펼치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 상대적으로 재무적 안정성을 중요시하는 코스피 상장기업과 성장성을 중요시하는 코스닥 상장기업의 특성이 반영된 결과로 해석된다. 한편 피합병으로 인한 상장폐지 발생 후 계속상장기업의 재무정책 변화는 일관적이지 않았는데 이는 합병의 특성 및 조건이 분석에 고려되지 않았기 때문으로 보인다. 분석 상 몇 가지 한계에도 불구하고 본 연구는 상장폐지가 업종 내 계속상장기업에 미치는 영향을 최초로 분석하였다는데 의의가 있다. In this study, I investigate the effect of stock delisting on the financial stability of incumbent firms. On the one hand, delisting may give negative signal to investors about the industry and, thus, incumbent firms will face an increase in uncertainty and an increase in financial costs. If this is the case, incumbent firms may need to keep their financial policy in the more conservative way. On the other hand, when delisting occurs, incumbent firms enjoy the lower degree of competition in the industry which leads the firms to keep more aggressive financial policy. This paper examines these two opposite hypotheses. I divided the sample based on the reason of delisting: going private, liquidated, and being merged and separately analyze the KOSPI and KOSDAQ listed firms. The results show that KOSPI listed firms tend to change their financial policy by reducing leverage and increasing cash holdings when delisting due to going private and being liquidated occurs in the industry. The KOSDAQ listed firms, on the other hand, tend to increase leverage and decrease cash holding when delisting occurs. The results suggest that while KOSPI listed firms are likely to emphasize on financial stability, KOSDAQ listed firms tend to focus more on growth opportunities. The effect of delisting due to being merged is not clear and inconsistent. One of reasons on this obscure effect is because merger can plays as good news as well as as bad news depending on the characteristics of merger deals. The paper contributes to the literature in that it is the first study to investigate the effect of delisting on incumbent firms which stay listed.

인스탄스 상속을 지원하는 확장된 객체 지향 대수에 기반한 질의어 처리

새로운 데이타베이스 응용을 효과적으로 지원하기 위해 확장된 객체 대수에 기반을 둔 객체 지향 질의어를 개발한다. 확장된 객체 대수에서는 클래스들간에 클래스 속성들을 상속하는 클래스 상속뿐만 아니라 인스탄스들간에 값들을 상속하는 인스탄스 상속도 지원한다. 먼저 확장된 객체 지향 개념들을 처리하는 기본 연산자들을 개발한다. 그리고 이 기본 연산자들을 이용하여 확장된 객체 대수의 연산들을 개발한 다음, 객체 지향 질의어를 이 객체 대수로 변환한다. To support new database applications effectively, we develop an object-oriented query language which is based on an extended object algebra. The extended object algebra supports not only class inheritance concept but also instance inheritance concept. To develop the query language, first of all, we develop some primitive operators that process the extended object-oriented concepts. And also, we develop several operations of the extended object algebra by using the primitive operators. And then, we translate the object-oriented query into this object algebra.

컨택센터 상담사 직무역량모델의 타당성에 관한 연구

이 연구는 이전 연구에서 개발된 컨택센터 상담사 직무역량모델의 구성타당성 검증과 실무적 시사점 제공을 위해 시행되었다. 연구목적 달성을 위해 이전 연구에서 개발된 잠정 직무역량모델을 측정도구로 활용하여 상담사 집단 217명, 슈퍼바이저 집단 199명 등 총 416명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 슈퍼바이저 집단의 응답 결과를 표본으로 탐색적 요인분석을 통해서 4개 직무역량, 27개 행동지표를 추출하였다. 둘째, 탐색적 요인분석을 통해 추출한 직무역량모델을 측정모형으로 상담사 집단의 응답결과를 표본으로 확인적 요인분석을 실시하고 모델적합도를 확인하였다. 셋째, 직무역량 모델의 구성타당성을 집중타당성과 판별타당성 검정을 통해 확인하였다. 최종 확정된 직무역량모델의 4개의 직무역량은 ‘고객지향성 및 자긍심’, ‘고객요구 파악 및 처리’, ‘상품지식’, ‘상담시스템 활용’으로 도출되었다. 넷째, 4개 직무역량별로 중요도와 보유도의 평균차이 분석, 슈퍼바이저 집단과 상담사 집단의 평균차이 분석을 하여 그 의미를 설명하였다. The purpose of this study is to test the construct validity of the job competency model of contact center consultants and to find practical implications. To achieve this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted using the contact center consultant"s tentative job competency model developed in the previous study. The research results are as follows. First, an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was conducted using the supervisor group, as a development sample, which resulted into the first job competency model including 4 job competencies and 27 behavioral indicators. Second, a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted using the consultant group, as a validity sample. As a result of CFA, the model fitness of the job competency model exceeded the standard criteria, and the cross-validity was confirmed. Third, the construct validity was confirmed by testing the convergence validity and discriminant validity of the job competency model. Fourth, by analyzing the average difference between the importance level and the current level of each competence, and analyzing the average difference between the supervisor group and the consultant group, the practical points were interpreted.

컨택센터 상담사의 미래 역할과 직무역량 모델 개발: 델파이기법 적용

이 연구의 목적은 컨택센터 상담사의 미래 역할을 탐색하고 미래 역할에 필요한 직무역량 모델을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 심층 인터뷰와 델파이기법을 활용하였다. 다양한 업종에서 컨택센터 상담사와 관리자로 근무하는 전문가 패널 12명을 구성하였다. 전문가 패널을 상대로 심층 인터뷰, 1차, 2차 델파이 설문조사를 실시하였다. 심층 인터뷰 결과를 분석하여 미래 역할을 탐색하고 직무역량과 행동지표를 도출하여 1차 델파이 설문지를 구성하였다. 내용 타당도(CVR), 수렴도, 합의도 등의 기준을 가지고 행동지표의 채택과 기각을 결정해 가면서 설문지를 수정하여 2차 델파이 조사를 하였다. 2차 델파이 조사에서 합의가 도출되어 컨택센터 상담사의 미래 역할을 정의하고 직무역량 모델을 개발하였다. 컨택센터 상담사의 미래 역할은 ‘멀티채널 운영자’, ‘전문 마케터’, ‘컨시어지서비스 제공자’로 합의되었다. 또한, 미래 직무역량 모델로 지식, 기술, 태도 3개 역량군, 9개 역량, 30개 행동지표를 개발하였다. 이러한 미래 역할과 직무역량 모델은 향후 컨택센터 상담사의 채용, 상담코칭, 직무전환 교육 등의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. This study aims to develop the future role and job competency of contact center consultant in South Korea. The research was conducted with four steps: in-depth interview, 1st and 2nd Delphi survey, job competency modeling. In-depth interview and Two-round Delphi surveys were undertaken with 12 contact center experts. In the 2nd round, there was consensus in the degree of consensus, degree of convergence, and content validity ratio (CVR). The result identified three future roles, three job competency domains, nine job competencies and 30 behavioral indicators. The future roles of contact center consultants were finally revealed to be ‘multi-channel operator’, ‘professional marketer’, and ‘concierge service provider’. This future role and job competency model of contact center consultants can be used as a measurement tool for recruitment, coaching, and job transformation training.

The charac-teristics of the system which were designed by the author were showed that it was cancelled the undesired signal about 16 dB than the conventional antenna.
