        In this paper, We have classified temporal events in active rule, studied the properties of them, and implemented the SQL-like temporal event definition language and the temporal event processor. Temporal events are classified into primitive events and composite events. Primitive events are defined as absolute-time events and database operation events with an event modifier, PRE or POST. Composite events are defined as relative time events, periodic events, aperiodic events, disjunction, conjunction and sequence. For processing temporal events we have designed the Temporal Event Preprocessor(TEP) and the Temporal Event Detector(TED). The TEP consists of parser, database operation event transformer, and query executor. The TED consists of initializer, absolute-time event detector, database operation event detector, and composite event detector. TEP and TED have been implemented as a front-end system running on the extended relational active database system, PostgreSQL V6.0, and tested using various business applications.

        Virtual class is an alternative methodology overcoming temporal and/or spatial limitations. Virtual class is applied to educational contents made by hypermedia, to discussion of special topics, to annoucement of news and notices, and to assignments for students and for teachers. To develop a model of local based virtual class in Youngdo-Gu, Busan there are several requirements. These are as follows: a. Inexpensive cost for implementing and for managing of open softwares, b. Easy pathway to nearby offices for the supports of professional skills and tools of humanwares as well as for those of hardwares and softwares. c. Good cooperation among main developers for making specific contents and for managing them. In this study, a virtual class running on the Linux machine was designed and implemented for the students of 3rd to 6th grades of elementary schools using Apache web server, MySQL DBMS, and PHP script language.

        봉지종류 및 괘대시기가 ‘원황’ 및 ‘화산’ 배 과실의 수확기 품질에 미치는 영향

        We tested fruits quality and skin coloration of two pear cultivar ‘Wonhwang’ and ‘Whasan’ produced by bagging with different kinds of paper bags in the Cheonan area, Chungnam Province, Korea. The fruits were bagged at 35, 45, 55 or 65 days after full bloom (DAFB) with 3 kinds of double layer paper bag which consisted of grey color, yellow color and newspaper for outer layer. The great extent of light interruption was observed in grey colored outer paperbag among three kinds of paperbag which showed only 0.46% of lowest light transmittance when compared with 43.7% and 40.0% of yellow paper and newspaper, respectively. The development of skin redness (a*) increased with the delay of bagging time in two pear cultivars. But the fruits treated at 65 DAFB showed uneven coloration and excessive development of redness which represented low fruit external appearance value. Uniform flesh firmness was attained at the fruits bagged with grey outer color paperbag regardless of bagging time, although the fruit quality indices including soluble solids and titratable acidity did not change significantly by using different kind of fruit bags and bagging time in two pear cultivar. Based on our results, it was explained that the grey-colored fruit bag had positive effect on the development of skin coloration without any detrimental effect on fruit quality factors in ‘Wonhwang’ and ‘Whasan’ pears.

        양친매성 유기점토를 이용한 중금속과 유기 오염물질 동시제거 기술

        Although clay can sorb significant amounts of inorganic contaminants from soils and waste-water, the hydration of exchangeable cations in clay minerals makes it hydrophilic at the clay mineral surfaces and interlayers. Thus, natural clays are often ineffective in complexing and stabilizing toxic organic contaminants in soils and groundwater environment. But, substituting these hydrated cations with cationic surfactant such as QAC(Quaternary ammonium Compound) can change the natural clay from hydrophilic to hydropobic. Furthermore functionalized organoclay can act as a powerful dual function sorbent for both toxic metals and organic compounds. It also can be used as landfill clay liners, slurry walls, nano-composite materials, petroleum tank farms, waste treatment, and fflter systems. To use this modified clay minerals effectively, it is required to understand the fundamental chemistry of organoclay, synthetic procedures, its engineering application, bioavailability of sorbed ion-clay complex, and potential risk of organoclay. In this review, we investigate the use, application and historical background of the organoclay in remediation technology. The state-of-the-art of organoclay research is also discussed. Finally, we suggest some future implications of organoclay in environmental research.

      • 질병구조 및 의료행위에 관한 연구

        Studies of statistics of diseases, injuries and mortality are very important data not only on national policy-making about welfare programs and preservation of health, but also on studying about medicine. The sources of data used for this study is the patient's medical records of a general hospital. They were discharged from January 1, 1999 to December 31, 1999. Main results are as follows. 1. By the 21 chapter of KCD-3, diseases of the circulatory system, neoplasms, diseases of the digestive system are the highest ratio. 2. By the 257 categories of KCD-3, diabetes mellitus, hypertensive diseases, diseases of esophagus, stomach and duodenum are the highest ratio. 3. By the ICD-9-CM procedures, miscellaneous diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, operations on the digestive system, obstetrical procedures are the highest ratio.

      • 아크릴계 박리혈 점착제의 제조와 특성에 관한 연구

        In order to improve the disadvantages of the copolymers and the terpolymers for PSA uses, quarterpolyrners were synthesized and crosslinked. Poly(butyl acrylate-co-2-ethyl hexyl acrylate-co- methyl methacrylate-co-2-hydroxy ethyl methacrylate) (BA/2-EHA/MMA/2-HEMA) and Poly(butyl acrylate-co-2-ethyl hexyl acrylate-co-methyl methacrylate-co-acrylic acid) (BA/2-EHA/MMA/AA) have superior PSA properties compared to the copolymers and the terpolymers. The best performances of BA/2-EHA/MMA/2-HEMA as a PSA were measured when benzoyl peroxide initiator was used with the reactant mixture comprised 80% of BA and 2-EHA, 15% of MMA, and 5% of 2-HEMA. The optimum reaction temperature and time were 80℃ and 8 hours, respectively. For BA/2-EHA/MMA/AA, the best performances were obtained when the polymerization was performed at the monomer composition of BA and 2-EHA, 15% of MMA, and 5% of AA. BPO was used as initiator and the optimum reaction temperature and time were identical to those of BA/2-EHA/MMA/ 2-HEMA. Isocyanate and melamine were used to crosslink BA/2-EHA/MMA/2-HEMA and BA/2-EHA/MMA/AA, respectively. No effect of type of cross-linking agent on the peel adhesion was observed with aging. The quarter-polymers crosslinked with melamine left residues on the counter surface after weathering resistance test whereas the polymers crosslinked with isocyanate did not.

      • 5-FU로 백서 가슴샘에서 유도된 세포고사의 Comet Assay에 의한 분석

        Thymus is a lymphoid organ forming T-cells from hematogenous stem cells. Apoptosis of thymocytes in the cortex of thymus is so rapid that cannot find easily with routine histological techniques. In this experiment, Comet assay and SDS-PAGE were used to detect apoptotic changes and protein changes after 5-fluorouracil(5-FU) treatment in the thymus of the rat. The results were as follows. 1. The number of thymocytes in the cortex was markedly decreased, and many apoptotic cells with various size and shapes were found on DAT 5 in 5-FU treated group. 2. On DAT 5, new nodules with germinal centers began to appear in the peripheral cortex, and in the germinal center, there was many apoptotic bodies of various size and shapes. 3. In SDS-PAGE, a protein with molecular weight of 123kDa was increased on DAT 5 which was considered as integrins subfamily.

      • 유용미생물 고정용 세라믹 담체의 제조 및 부착능

        Effective micro-organisms (EM) increase the natural resistance of soil and plants, and it considerably improves the quality and fertility of soil as well as the growth and quality of crops. In this study, Porous ceramics were prepared with various ceramic types and were observed that EM was attached on the pores inside. EM was well attached on various porous ceramics. However, attachment ability of EM on surface was better than that of EM inside. Open pore is essential to attach EM inside of ceramics. From this result, potential application for environment purification ceramics was confirmed and made it to use in a field of environmentally-friendly.

      • 열교환기 구조 변화에 따른 NH₃와 R22의 성능특성연구

        Nowadays HCFCs refrigerant are restricted because it cause depletion of ozone layer. However, natural gases such as ammonia as an organic compound, propane and propylene as hydrocarbon are easy and cheap to obtain as well as environmental. Accordingly, this experiment apply the NH3 and R22 to study the performance characteristic from the superheat control and compare the energy efficiency of two refrigerants from the high performance. The condensing pressure of refrigeration system is increased from 15bar to 16bar and degree of superheat is increased from 0 to 10℃ at each condensing pressure. As the result of experiment, when comparing the each COP, we knew the NH₃ is suitable as the alternative refrigerant of the R22.
