Objectives:Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenocortical(HPA) system dysregulation plays an important role in the pathophysiology of major depressive disorder. Medically unexplained somatic symptoms comprised the predominant complaints of korean patients with major depressive disorder. It might be related to dysregulation of HPA system and somatic symptoms. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between Hamilton Depression Rating Scale severity and the Plasma Adrenocorticotropic Hormone(ACTH) & Serum Cortisol level in Korean patients with major depressive disorder. Methods:Our study design was prospective. A total 111 hospitalized patients with major depressive disorder (DSM-IV) at Anam Hospital, Korea University Medical Center between Jan 2009 and May 2011 were selected. Hamilton Depression Rating Scale was measured by psychiatrist. Plasma ACTH, Serum Cortisol levels were analyzed at the time of admission. Results:There are significant correlations(p<0.05) between Hamilton Depression Rating Scale of somatic component(HAM-D 11-15 item) and Plasma ACTH and Serum Cortisol level. However, other HAM-D sub items were not significantly correlated with Plasma ACTH and Serum Cortisol level except somatic component. Conclusion:Our Study results suggest that hyperactivity of HPA axis might be correlation with somatic symptoms in korean patients with major depressive disorder.

Background : The purpose of this study is to investigate the influencing factors on the length of emergency department stay of patients with acute myocardial infraction. Methods : we reviewed medical records of all patients who were Hospitalized with acute myocardial infraction from March 1, 2002 to February 28, 2003. Results : The average length of stay in the emergency room of the subjects was 182.74 minutes. After the emergency room treatment, 48.1% of the subjects were transferred to intensive care unit. The hospitalization through emergency room mostly took place in the office hours. There were more patients on Monday. The influencing factors on the length of stay in the emergency room of patients with acute myocardial infraction were emergency room arrival time which was classified in seasons, treatment hours of specialized doctors, medical care insurance and required time of radiologic examination. Conclusion : In order to reduce the length of emergency room stay, it might be an available solution secure enough spaces, facility, and staff of the radiologic test only for the patients of the emergency room. And the effective use of emergency facility and space, establishment of standardized treatment guideline, and provision of emergency treatment support system are also needed.

The main line of an automotive assembly plant normally consists of a body line, a painting line, and an assembly line. For determining the production sequence, leveling of heavy options is the major concern for body line and assembly line whereas production of bodies with the same color consecutively is more important in case of the painting line. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for generating the production sequence plan for an automotive assembly plant having the dual painting booths. The proposed algorithm turns out very effective in terms of the global performance measure of the assembly plant.

The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics and differences of borrowed landscape in traditional arbors and temples in Jeonbuk province. And this study is attempted to widespread the width of understanding the traditional landscape borrowing method for contributing in modem reception and creation of landscape architectural culture. For this, 30 traditional arbors and 30 traditional temples in Jeonbuk province were selected. The orientation of the place of view point, distance, vertical and horizontal angle were surveyed for identifying the structure of borrowed landscape. Furthermore main element, auxiliary element and a media of borrowed landscape were surveyed also. Two hypothesis were established for verifying the feasibility and real effectiveness of research results. First, the willingness of borrowed landscape shall be being in establishing traditional arbors and temples. Second, this willingness of borrowed landscape shall be accomplished in arbor space more positively than in temple space. The results of this study are as follows; 1. In temples, the surrounding landscape adapted in Buddhism principles are principally expressed, whereas in arbors, congregating landscape, variety landscape, background landscape for establishing good view point and enframed landscape are induced for making authoritative landscape as various borrowed landscape techniques. 2. The distance to borrowed landscape in temples is involved in far landscape region, whereas that in arbors is in middle and near. In comparative with temples, the arbors shows variety in distance to the borrowed landscape objects. 3. Down view borrowing is used generally in arbors, whereas upper view borrowing is used in temples at the view angle to the borrowed landscape objects. 4. Borrowed landscape objects are more considered factors than view scope in arbors. Main elements for borrowing landscape are very various arbors, but those are simple as mountains and peaks in temples. And natural elements are much more than artificial things in arbors as a media of borrowing landscape in comparative. with temples.

VB를 이용한 동영상 디스플레이어의 구현

전자 디지털 컴퓨터가 발명된 지 40년 여년이 지났고 현재의 컴퓨터는 모든 기능을 그래픽 환경에서 구현하고 있으며, 여러 가지 부가적인 기능을 가지고 있다. 초기의 수치계산에 치우쳤던 컴퓨터의 기능은 지금은 많은 멀티미디어 기능을 내장하고 있다. 수치계산에서 문서화 작업, 자동제어, 음악, 그림에 이르기까지 앞으로의 용도를 예측하기 어려울 정도다. 처음에는 영어 철자나 기호 등을 이용해 점자같은 처리를 했던 그래픽이 지금은 모든 것을 표현하는 완벽한 예술의 도구로 자리잡았다. 기존의 이미지 뷰어에서는 정영상과 동영상에 별도의 틀이 있었지만, 통합 환경은 없었다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 포맷의 디스플레이, 확대, 축소, 프린트 기능과 동영상을 디스플레이할 수 있는 통합 환경을 구현하였다.

치은 섬유아세포에 미치는 치주포대 추출물의 영향

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of soluble extracts form four peridontal dressings, two of which were eugenol and the others were non-eugenol, upon human gingival fibroblasts in vitro. Each of mixed dressing which added to medium was incubated in the 35mm petri dish for 24hrs. After discard of the supernatant of old medium, those cells were cultured with fresh prepared medium in the 5% CO2 incubator at the state of 37℃, for 24, 48, & 72 hours. Author counted the number of cells by hemocytometer at each designed time and observed the change of morphology of cells stained with Hematoxylin-Eosin on the inverted phase contrast microscope The results were as follows. 1. In the course of time, K.P pack was the most significant decrease of cell counts in comparison to control cultures with Wondrpak, Coe-pak Cellopack following in that order at original extracts and there were somewhat decrease at 1/10 & 1/100 diluted solutions in all samples. 2. Throughout the present study, the eugenol containing periodontal dressings, K.P pack & Wondrpak, showed more cytotoxic effects on fibroblasts than non-eugenol dressings, Cellopack & Coe-pak. 3. In microscopic apearance of four dressings, the degenerative changes with pyknotic nuclei, lysis of cytoplasm and marked vacuolizaion were evident at orignal extracts. 4. At 1/10 & 1/100 diluted solutions, there was nothing remarkable morphological change in all kinds of periodontal dressings as time goes by. J. Kyungpook Univ. Sch. Dent. Vol. 7, No. 1, 9∼21, 1990
