The authors present here the following results_ showing the. effect of horse serum to plasma cells in lamina, propria. of duodenal vwi, using adult male mice seized with antibody-formation and anaphylactic shock ` by a normal horse serum injection. 1 . In normal group the plasma cells, counted 47.0 on an average in duodenal villi of mice, Type A of which counted 39.8; Type B 6.6; Type CO. 6. 2.In sensitized group the plasma cells counted 52.9, Types, A, B and C of which counted 44.9, _7.3 and 0.7 respectively, increasing by about 10% compared with normal group: 3. In anaphylactic shock group the plasma cells counted 42. 1, Types A, B and C of which counted 35. 8, 5.6 and 0.7, decreasing by about 10% compared with normal group.

This study was carried out to investigate the flora of Mts. Dae-am, Dae-woo, Baek-suk, and Sa-myung located on the east side of DMZ in province Yang-gu-gun, from July 1999 to August 2000. Although two hundred and fifty eight vascular plant taxa (70 families 167 genera) were recorded, this was only a part of representatives in this community because of the restrictin of collections within the military zone. The overall forest stand age of this area was 40 to 50 years, but occasionally ca 70 years old trees were found. We reported 11 taxa of the rare and endangered species proposed by the Ministry of Environment in this area. The Yong-neup, the only high altitude (alt. 1,200m) moore in south Korea, are located in the peak of Mt. Dae-am-san. Some species of this moore (Carex chordorrhiza Ehrh., Carex limosa L., and Gentiana jamesii Hemsl.) - were only found in south Korea. This moor would suffer vegetation change by natural moorland succession and human disturbances. The long-term monitoring of variation of annual vegetation, species distribution, numbers and distribution pattern of individuals of rare species are recommended for the wetland conservation.

The oral bioavailability of itraconazole is variable and low in fasting state. This is mainly due to the low solubility of this drug. Bioavailability can be improved by changing the formulation and it is general that the liquid preparations show greater bioavailability than the solid dosage forms such as tablets and capsules do. Benzyl alcohol-water binary mixture showed the excellent solubilizing capacity for itraconazole but the release of the drug from the preparation needs to be enhanced. In this study, various nonionic surfactants and hydrophilic polymers, poloxamers, were screened to investigate their effects on the release of itraconazole from the liquid preparations. Poloxamer 407 showed the most enhancing effect on the drug release and the release rate was proportional to the amount of poloxamer 407 added. A liquid preparation of itraconazole, consisting of benzyl alcohol/water/poloxamer 407 ternary solvent system, released more than 80% of the total drug amount at 5 min and showed the possibility of a new formulation development.

To clarify the taxonomy of Clematis of Ranunculaceae, herbarium specimens collected from South Korea past forty years were examined on the basis of leaf, flower and fruit morphology. The qualitative and quantitative characters showed that eleven taxa could be recognized. The current study rejected several taxa, such as C. heracleifolia var. davidiana Hemsl., C. chiisanensis Nakai, C. nobilis Nakai, C. subtriternata Nakai. On the other hand, C, fusca var. coreana Nakai justified varietal status as an endemic plant to Korea. Also, a plausible suggestion was that C. ochotensis, be recognized under a variety of European taxa, i.e., C. alpina (L.) Mill. Var. ochotensis (Pall.) S. Wats. Results from this current study showed that C. fusca var. coreana Nakai, C. brachyura Maxim., and C. trichotoma Nakai justified endemic plants to Korea. While most taxa were considered as plants of Manchurian province according to Takhtajan, C. heracleifolia DC., C. terniflora DC., C. brevicaudata DC., and C. apiifolia DC. Belonged to Central Chinese province. Finally using a key and a limited sample of the Arboretum herbarium specimens (SNUA) to all taxa, the distribution maps were provided here.
혈중납이 흰쥐의 Microsomal Cytochrome P-450 Monooxygenase 활성도에 미치는 영향

In rats treated with lead nitrate and/or red ginseng extract mixture we observed a change in the level of hepatic cytochrome P-450 and electron transport system for P-450 dependent reaction, and content of Zincprotoporphyrin(ZPP) and Hemoglobin(Hb) in whole blood. The content of cytochrome P-450 and ?? , and the activity of ECHEase, AHHase and NADPH-cytochrome C(p-450) reductase were slowly decreased according to the dosage of lead nitrate. On the other hand, the activity of ?? reductase was increased according to the dosage of lead nitrate, but in case of treatment with red ginseng mixture, this enzyme activity was slightly decreased. In whole blood, the content of hemoglobin and ZPP were not shown any critival change but lead content increased according to dosage of lead nitrate. These results suggest that content and activity of cytochrome P-450-dependent monoxygenase may be dependent on specificity of substrates, and the acute exposure of lead nitrate and red ginseng extract mixture was not affected any biological significance.

Intracellular high energy phosphorus metabolism can be assessed noninvasively and dynamically by in vivo ^31P NMRS of skeletal muscle have shown various applications of this technique in evaluating the pathophysiology of diseased or normal muscles. High energy phosphate metavolsim in the human skeletal muscle was studies in the work. ^31P nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy allowed the evaluate of the lactic acid and aerobic energy system in the intracellular skeletal muscle by energy concentration of ^31P nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy allowed the evaluate of the lactic acid and aerobic energy system in the intracellular skeletal muscle by energy concentration of ^31P metabolite, (Pi), (PCr), (ATP). The ratio of Pi/PCr the spectra measured from normal volanteers and elite athleties indicated a signetifcant difference between the two group for each exercise protocal. It was generally ovserved that the all out time of normal volunteers in shorter that that of elite athletes, and the ration of Pi/PCr is samller for elite athlets than for normal volunteers.

This study was carried out to investigate the flora of Mt. Undal (alt. 1,097.2m) located on the northwestern side of province Gyeongsangbuk-do, near Myngyeong-si city, from April 2000 to Sept. 2000. Total number of vascular plants discovered in Mt. Undal were 70 families, 154 genera, and 243 taxa(including species, subspecies, varieties and forma). Major vegetation was Acer pictum var. mono - Quercus mongolica - Carpinus laxiflora community. The overall forest stand age of this area was 40 to 50 years, and occasionally ca 70 years old Abies holophylla trees were found. Although, there were no rare and endangered speices, we found two species of level IV by the Ministry of Environment - Anemone koraiensis Nakai, Anemone reflexa. Steph. et Willd.
