        인식 정당성의 의무론적 이해에 대한 비판과 대안

        이 글은 ‘인식 정당성’을 의무론적으로 이해하려는 이병덕과 임일환의 최근 논의를 비판적으로 검토한다. 잘 알려진 대로, 인식적 의무의 준수가 진리연관적이지 않다는 점과 믿음의 생성과 소멸을 의지적으로 통제할 수 없다는 점은 의무론적 이해에 대한 두 개의 주요한 반론이다. 이 글에서는 의무와 진리연관성을 직접 연결시키려는 듯 보이는 이병덕의 시도와 약한 인식적 의무를 주장하는 임일환의 입장이 모두 여전히 이 반론들을 극복하지 못하고 있음이 논증될 것이다. 보다 근본적인 차원에서 인식 정당성에 관한 소위 ‘포기할 수 없는 직관’으로 알려진 것의 근원들을 재검토해 본다면, 지식의 규범성이 반드시 의무 개념과 연계되어 이해되어야 할 필요는 없다는 점이 드러날 수 있을 것이다. 그로부터 출발하여 필자는 인식정당성에 대한 새로운 이해의 한 방향을 제안한다. 필자의 견해로는 믿음은 그 생성의 국면과 유지의 국면을 구별할 수 있는데, 진리연관성의 확보와 우연성의 배제를 위해 이 두 국면이 모두 평가될 필요가 있고, 이 두 국면에서 모두 좋은 믿음이 되는 것이 지식을 위해 필요하다. 믿음의 생성 국면은 기존의 정당화에 대한 신빙성 이론의 제안과 유사하게 평가될 수 있으며 그 결과 진리연관성을 확보할 수 있게 된다. 한편 유지 국면의 적절성을 외재론적으로 평가하는 것을 통해, 의무론적 이해의 옹호자들이 지식의 규범성과 관련하여 가지고 있는 통찰은 존중하되 그것이 ‘인식적 의무’와 같은 개념에 의존하지 않으면서도 설명될 수 있는 방법을 모색하고자 한다. 이 작업이 외재론적 틀 내에서 내재론의 착안점을 수용할 수 있는 이론의 가능성을 타진해 보는 시도가 될 수 있었으면 한다. This paper critically reviews two recently proposed, duty-based understandings on epistemic justification, one by Beong-Deok Lee and the other by Il-Hwan Rim. Having difficulty in securing truthconduciveness has been the major weakness of such deontological conceptions of justification. The fact that beliefs are formed involuntarily also casts a serious doubt on the concepts of epistemic duty. I argue that, unfortunately, those two new suggestions by Lee and by Rim still cannot live up to their billings by being susceptible to these already known attacks. Lee’s attempt to directly connect duty to truth-conduciveness fails, and Rim’s dependence on the concept of weak epistemic duty cannot circumvent the criticism of involuntarism, as he has intended. On the basis of this review, I propose a new way to understand epistemic justification. It is my contention that the concept of epistemic justification may be so technical that it is not guided by the intuition of justification (as there is none) but rather constructed artificially in accordance with what we think is needed for a true belief to become knowledge. What we need is truth conduciveness and, if a true belief is acquired by chance and/or maintained by chance, ways to get rid of relevant accidentality are involved. Thus I think that a belief should be evaluated as being good in the phase of both its acquisition and its maintenance in order to see if it qualifies as knowledge. A good belief in its acquisition phase may well be a belief produced by a reliable beliefforming process so that we can secure the truth-conduciveness. I suggest that a good belief in the maintenance phase can also be evaluated in an externalist’s perspective so that we can eliminate the involvement of a kind of accidentality, which in turn is a way to capture what deontologists want to hold as being epistemically important. The difference is that my proposal does not rely on the problematic conceptof epistemic duty.

        한국인에서 다변성 D12S391 유전좌의 집단유전학적 연구

        The hypervariable short tandem repeat(STR) locus D12S391 was investigated in a Korean population. A total of 14 alleles were detected by size under denaturing conditions in 517 unrelated individuals. To confirm all of the alleles detected in a Korean population, a total of 34 fragments were sequenced. Prior to allele designation, we constructed the allelic ladders containing 11 alleles sequenced in this study. Allele 18 is the most common with a frequency of 0.281 in Koreans, and one variant allele 19.3 which have been confirmed by sequencing, was detected. The observed heterozygosity, the power of discrimination (PD), and the mean exclusion chance (MEC) for the locus D12S392 is 0.781, 0.946 and 0.652 , respectively. No deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium was observed in a Korean population (p=0.557). In the 424 meioses in 105 Korean families confirmed using other 17 STR loci, no mutation was detected in locus D12S391. The STR locus D12S391system is useful both for the analysis identification and parternity.

      • 사람 Ferritin 유전자를 이용한 담배의 형질전환

        사람 H-chain ferritin 유전자를 Agrobcterium-mediated transformation 방법으로 담배(Nicotiana tabaccum L)에 전이시켰다. 이를 위하여 사람 H-chain ferritin 유전자를 C_(S)VMV promotor와 NOS terminator를 운반하는 plant binary vector, pILTAB 357에 도입하였다. pILTAB 357를 포함하는 Agrobcterium tumefaciens LBA4404로 담배 잎 절편체를 감염시킨 후 형질전환 신초는 MS배지에 1 5 ㎎/L BA, 50 ㎎/L kanamycin 그리고 200 ㎎/L cefotaxim이 첨가된 1차 선발배지에서 유도하였다. 유도된 신초는 MS배지에 100 ㎎/L kanamycin과 200 ㎎/L cefotaxim이 포함된 2차 선발배지에서 뿌리를 유기하였다. 뿌리가 형성된 재분화 개체는 온실에서 재배하였으며 자가수분하여 종자를 수확하였다. 사람 H-chain ferritin유전자의 담배 genome내로의 전이여부를 H-chain ferritin 유전자내의 primer를 이용하여 PCR 방법으로 확인한 바 형질전환 개체에서 예상했던 560bp 단편을 볼 수 있었으나 형질전환을 시키지 않은 식물체에서는 PCR 산물을 확인할 수 없었다. Kanamycin 저항성 분석은 전이유전자의 후대로의 안정적인 유전을 보여 주었으며 저항성 종자들은 homozygous개체를 확보하기 위해 온실에서 재배 중에 있다. A human H-chain ferritin gene was introduced into tobacco (Nicotiana tabaccum L.) plants by Agrobcterium-mediated transformation. To introduce this gene, human ferritin gene was cloned into plant binary vector, pILTAB 357, horboring CsVMV promotor and nopalin synthase terminator (3' NOS). After infection with Agrobacterium tumefaciens LBA4404 containing pILTAB 357, transformed shoots were induced from first selection media (MS media + 1.5 ㎎/L BA + 50 ㎎/L kanamycin + 200 ㎎/L^(1) cefotaxim). Induced shoots were rooted in second selection media (MS media + 100 ㎎/L kanamycin + 200 ㎎/L cefotaxim). Rooted shoots were cultivated, selfed, and seeds were harvested in the green house. To confirm the transfer of the human H-chain ferritin gene in the genome of tobacco plants, PCR was conducted using specific primers of the H-chain femritin gene. A PCR fragment of 560 bp was obtained from each transformed plants, which is the predicted size of the H-cham ferritin gene but not from nontransformed plants. Kanamycin resistance assay showed that transgenes were stably inherited to next generation in all lines. These resistance seeds from each line were cultivated in the green house to obtain homozygous lines for further study.

        유전체 충전형 플라즈마 반응기를 이용한 Trichloroethylene의 분해반응

        유전체 충전형 플라즈마 반응기를 이용하여 공기중 trichloroethylene (TCE)의 분해반응에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 방전전력, 체류시간 및 반응물 유입농도 등과 같은 여러 가지 운전변수에 따른 TCE의분해효율을 조사하고, 반응 부산물의 분석을 통하여 TCE 분해 반응 메커니즘을 제시하였다. 실험결과 방전전력 및 체류시간이 증가함에 따라 TCE 분해효율은 증가하였으나 유입농도의 변화에 대한 영향은 거의 없었다. BaTiO_3를 충전한 반응기가 알루미나를 충전한 반응기보다 분해효율이 높았으나 TCE의 완전 산화분해의척도가 되는 CO_x(CO+CO_2)의 수율 및 CO_2의 선택도는 BaTiO_3를 충전한 반응기보다 알루미나를 충전한 반응기가 월등하게 높았다. 반응생성물 분석결과 주반응 생성물은 CO_x,CHCl_2COCl, C_2H_2Cl_2O_2및 COCl_2로 공기중 TCE의 분해 메커니즘은 주로 ClO와 OH 라디칼에 의한 반응으로 판단된다. The decompositon of trichloroethylene (TCE) in air using a ferroelectric packed-bed reactor was studied. The effects of discharge power, residence time, inlet concentration and other operating conditions on the decomposition efficiency were investigated and the analysis of reaction products was conducted to suggest the mechanism of TCE decomposition. Experimental results showed that the decomposition efficiency of TCE increased with increasing discharge power and residence time but was unaffected by inlet concentration. The decomposition efficiency for BaTiO_3 packed reactor was higher than that for alumina packed reactor, but the yield of CO_x(CO+CO_2) and selectivity of CO_2 as the measure of the complete oxidation of TCE were higher in alumina packed reactor. The main products of TCE decomposition were CO_x,CHCl_2COCl, C_2H_2Cl_2O_2 and COCl_2. On the basis of the results, it is inferred that the decomposition of TCE in air proceeds by OH and CIO radical reaction mechanism.

      • 한국 동해안 조간대의 해조상

        This study was conducted to clarify the patterns of geographical distribution of intertidal marine algae in the east coast of Korea. To find out the patterns of geographical distribution, seasonal changes in the species composition at intertidal zones of 31 different sampling sites along the east coast were analyzed seasonally during March, 1985 - Oct., 1990. As a result of the floristic investigation, a total of 221 species, including 28 chlorophytes, 51 phaeophytes and 142 rhodophytes, were identified Among 31 sampling sites, Younghae appeared to have the highest species diversity, where 105 species (48 % of the total species collected) were found The lowest species diversity was found in Hajode, where only 35 species (16 % of the total species collected) were collected. Seasonlly, they occurred 170 species in spring, 169 in summer, 460 in autumn and 157 in winter respectively. The number of species newly recored this area are 1 chlorophyte, 1 phaeophyte and 2 rhodophytes. According to previous reports and this study, 499 algal species, including 29 cyanophytes, 48 chlorophytes, 103 phaeophytes and 319 rhodophytes, were recognized to be distributed in this area. These numbers suggest that the east coast of Korea is very rich in species composition compared to other areas along the East Sea, including west coasts of Saghalien, Hokkaido, and Honshu, and the east coast of the south Maritime Territory of USSR.

        국소진동장해 평가를 위한 감각신경 및 말초혈류량 검사에 관한 연구

        This study was conducted on 103 male workers exposed to local vibration (exposure workers) and 23 male clergical workers not exposed to local vibration (reference workers) to evaluate the effect of local vibration in a automobile industry workers who had used vibratory tools such as electric bolt impacter or grinder. The assessment methods of this study were some tests recommended by Wasserman and Taylor. None of reference workers complained sensorineural symptoms, but 443.7% of exposed workers complained over one of those symptoms. The proportion of non-recovery type, which means that there was no full recovery of temperature of finger tips, was from 0% to 31.3% in reference workers and from 10.7% to 15.5% in exposure workers. There was statistically significant difference of recovery time of plethysmogram after cold provocation between mean recovery time of 0.44 minutes in reference workers and that of 3.05 minutes in exposure workers. The proportion of bad plethysmogram was form 0% to 4.4% in reference workers and from 3.9% to 7.8% in exposure workers. There was statistically significant difference of discrimination sense between mean length of 2.04 mm in reference workers and that of 2.9 mm in exposure workers. There were also statistically significant difference of pain sense between mean weights of from 5.02 g to 5.26 g in reference workers and those of from 6.81 g to 7.6 g in exposure workers. By the results of multiple stepwise regression analysis the statistically significant variable affecting discrimination and pain sense was exposure and those affecting vibration sense were exposure and age. We concluded that exposure of local vibration in automobile workers was significantly associated with decrease of sensorineural sense regardless of age and other possible related variables.

        We have encountered a rare case of symmetrical peripheral gangrene complicating Escherichia coli sepsis in a 47-years-old male. He was successfully treated with antibiotics, anticoagulants, and vasodilator. To our knowledge, this is the first report on symmetrical peripheral gangrene complicating E. coli sepsis in Korea.

      • 아크릴로니트릴-4비닐피리딘 공중합체의 전기 전도성에 관한 연구

        Conducting Polymer was obtained by the modification of PAN4VP-Cu(Ⅱ) complex with iodine in acetone. The properties such as morphology, IR-spectrum, thermal degradation, catalytic activity, moisture regain, dye adsorption, tensile strength and favorable conditions for preparing the conducting polymer complex were investigated. Electrical conductivity was measured by changing the concentration of cupric salts and reation time. The experimental results are as follows: 1) The pH condition for the formation of PAN4VP complex was in the range from 10 to 11. 2) The morphology of PAN4VP-Cu(Ⅱ) complex and Cu S-PAN4VP was more compact than that of PAN4VP. 3) The catalytic activity of PAN4VP-Cu(Ⅱ) complex in dicomposition of hydrogen peroxide was affected by concentration of CuCl₂and reaction time, and was increased with their rises. 4) Maximum value of electrical condustivity of PAN4VP-Cu(Ⅱ) complex was 5.5×10Ω㎝ When modified with iodine in acetone, and that of CuxS-PAN4VP was 1.2×10Ω㎝ at the 40g/ℓ concentration of cupric sulfate. 5) Moisture regain of Cu S-PAN4VP was decreased by the introducing of Cu S, but dye adsorption was not decreased.
