      • 우리나라 主要 樹木園 및 植物園의 植物保有實態 分析에 關한 硏究

        우리나라 樹木園(植物園)들의 植物保有 實態를 把握하기 위하여 韓國植物園 聯合會 總監集을 대상으로 분석, 고찰한 결과 현재 우리나라에 수집되어 있는 식물의 전체 分類群 數는 225科 1,428屬 9,481種類로 나타났으며 이중 국내 自生樹種과 外國原産 導入種의 경우는 각각 166科 683屬 2,001種類와 193科 1,052屬 7,480種類로 파악되어 자생식물의 수집이 극히 저조한 것으로 나타났다. 樹木園別 수집현황으로는 천리포樹木園이 4,479種類로 가장 많고 광릉樹木園이 2,719種類, 여미지植物園이 1,614종류, 서울대공원이 931종류, 서울대 관악樹木園이 740종류 등을 각각 보유하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 樹木園別 식물수집의 特色은 多樣한 植物資源의 수집보다는 관상적 가치가 높은 수종 중심의 劃一的 計劃에 의한 수집으로 분석되었다. 따라서 장차 식물자원의 綜合的인 利用 및 硏究등에 필요한 수종과 특히 自生樹種에 대한 集中的인 蒐集이 이루어져야 할 것으로 판단되었다. This study was carried out to figure out the current status of plant holdings of arboreta (botanical gardens) in Korea and to establish the sound basis for plant resource management by means of analyzing "A Comprehensive Bibliography of Botanical Gardens" (Korean Association of botanical Gardens, 1991). The total number of taxa, which consist of 225 families and 1,428 genera, was 9,481 kinds. Those taxa include 4,793 species, 735 varieties, and 3,953 infraspecific taxa, respectively. And the total plant holdings were classified into 2,001 kinds of plants native to Korea and 7,480 kinds of plants introduced. Species holdings of major arboreta were 4,497 kinds at the Chollipo Arboretum, 2,719 kinds at the Kwangneung Arboretum, 1,614 kinds at the Cheju Fantasy Garden, 931 kinds at the Seoul Grand Park, and 740 kinds at the Kwanak Arboretum of Seoul National University. The present collection priorities for those arboreta were mostly confined to specific families and genera, and also showing increasing trends of introducing more exotic species rather than native ones.

      • 우리나라 特産 木本植物의 綜合的 考察

        지금까지 韓國 特産 本木植物로 설정되어 언급되었던 230 種類의 分類群에 대해 文獻的 考察을 한 結果 特産樹種에 대한 모든 부분에서 상당한 誤謬와 論亂이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 본 연구에서는 종합적인 판단에 근거해서 特産, 留保, 除外 等3段階로 구분하여 再整理하였다. 이에 의하면 특산, 유보, 제외로 분류된 분류군수는 각각 160종류, 47종류, 17종류 등이며, 특산으로 재정리된 분류군의 분포지별로는 濟州道(한라산)권이 26種類(13種類는 濟州道 固有植物), 鬱陵島권이 17種類(12種類는 鬱陵島 固有植物)로 나타났고, 북한 지역의 경우는 모두 74種類(35종의 고유 植物 포함)가 分布하는 것으로 파악되었다. 分布 특성으로는 한반도내 한 지역에 국한되어 分布하는 좁은 分布역을 보이는 分類群은 모두 40種類였고, 또한 상당수 分類群이 정확한 分布地가 구체적으로 명시되지 않고 막연하게 언급되는 양상을 보였다. 한편, 이와같은 韓國特産 木本植物의 현황을 고찰해볼 때 앞으로 이에 대한 종합적인 연구가 조속한 시일내에 집중적으로 이루어져야 할 것으로 판단되었다. As a part of synthetic study of endemic plants in Korea, this study was carried out to reexamine taxa and their distribution of endemic woody plants in Korea by literature review. Therefore, endemic woody plants were rearranged as follow; reestablishment (160 kinds), reservation (47 kinds), and exclusion (17 kinds), respectively. In the distributional review, there were 26 kinds of endemic woody plants in Cheju Island (include 13 kinds of only this region), 17 in Ulneung Island (include 12 kinds of only this region), and 74 in North Korea (include 35 kinds of only this region), respectively. Also, 49 kinds of endemic woody plants showed the localized habitat distribution. The majority of endemic woody species has been poorly cited without proper their local distributioin.

      • Morgagni 탈장 : 1례 보고

        Morgagni 탈장은 횡격막의 전내측 부위의 발달이상으로 열공을 통하여 장관이나 대망과 같은 복강내 구조물이 흉곽내로 빠져나가는 드문 질환으로 알려져 있다. 저자들은 호흡곤란을 주소로 내원하여 방사선학적 검사와 수술로 확진된 1례를 보고한다. Morgagni hernia is improperly located abdominal viscera into the thoracic cavity through the foramen of Morgagni which is a congenital defect at the anterornedial portion of diaphragm. We report a case of Morgagni hernia diagnosed by radiologic examination and operation.

      • 증기상 Beckmann 전이 반응에 대한 Aluminophosphate 분자체의 촉매 특성

        Molecular sieves인 AIPO₄-5, SAPO-5 그리고 SAPO-11을 수열합성하여 제조한 다음 XRD, SEM, NH₃TPD와 IR을 통해 물리화확적 특성을 조사하였다. 증기상에서 cyclohexanone oxime의 Beckmann 전이 반응 결과는 oxime의 전화율과 Lactam의 수율에 있어서 SAPO-11가 반응성이 우수하였고, WHSV의 변화에 있어서는 AIPO₄-5와 SAPO-5 경우 WHSV가 증가할수록 전화율과 선택도는 감소하였지만 SAPO-11는 선택도가 증가함을 보였다. 본 대상 반응계인 Beckmann 전이 반응에서는 촉매의 기공 크기보다는 산성도에 더 큰 영향을 받음을 알수 있었다. AIPO₄-5, SAPO-5 AND SAPO-11 which are molecular sieves were synthesized by hydrothermal crystallization. The crystallinity of the prepared catalysts was confirmed by XRD and SEM, and their acidic properties were examined by TPD of NH₃and IR. Catalytic characteristics of the catalysts were tested by vapor phase Beckmann rearrangement of cyclohexanone oxime to caprolactam. The conversion of lactam and yield of lactam increased with acidity of the catalyst. Among the tested catalysts, SAPO-11 was excellent in Beckmann rearrangement reaction. AIPO₄-5 and SAPO-5 showed that conversion of oxime and selectivity of lactam decreased with the increase of WHSV but SAPO-11 showed different tendency in selectivity of lactam, or selectivity of lactam increased with the increase of WHSV. Beckmann rearrangement reaction was affected by acidity than pore size.

        양식장 배출물 발효물의 어류 사료 첨가에 따른 넙치, Paralichthys olivaceus의 혈액학적 변동에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 우리나라 주요 양식어류인 넙치, Paralichthys olivaceus를 대상으로 육상수조식양식장 배출물 발효물의 어류 사료 첨가에 따른 혈액학적 변동에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 젖산균 및 효모를 사용하여 발효한 양식장 배출물의 이화학적 분석을 실시하였고, 발효물을 0.1, 0.5, 1.0 및 5.0% 농도로 8주간 투여하였다. 투여 4주째 및 8주째에 각 투여 구간별로 혈액학적 항목을 중심으로 그 차이를 확인하였다. 배출물 발효농도별 유의한 차이는 나타나지 않았지만, 분석시기에 따른 적혈구수, 혈색소 농도 및 혈색소 지수가 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으나, 주요 혈청 무기 및 유기성분은 배출 발효물 농도별로 유의한 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 또한 혈청 효소학적 조사에서는 조사시기별로 변동은 나타났지만, 동일 조시시기에서 각 구간별 유의한 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 따라서 이러한 육상 약식장 유래의 배출물 발효산물에 대한 다양한 방면의 연구가 진행되어야겠다. Effects of oral administration with fermented product from sewage in land-based seawater fish farm on haematological disturbance in the olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus was investigated. After 4 weeks of conditioning with a basal diet, fish were divided into 4 groups and provided experimental diet (0.1,0.5, 1.0 and 2.0%) supplement of fermented sewage for 80 days. Proximal analysis was performed for the product of sewage which was fermented by lactic acid and yeast. RBC count, hemoglobin concentration and hematocrit value were increased according to the treated periods, however, no statistical difference was observed between control and treatment groups. There were no significant difference in serum organic, inorganic compounds and enzyme activities between control and treatment groups. This study hypothesized that the supplement of fermented product from sewage in land-based seawater fish farm might be an additive sup plement for source of fish diet in view of haematological examination. Recycling of the sewage may be an economic artificial sources of diet for fish aquaculture practices.

      • 성인 지역사회 폐렴의 원인 미생물에 대한 전향적 다기관 연구 : Legionella, Leptospira, Hantaan virus and Orientia tsutsugamushi

        Background : Despite rigorous investigations, the etiology of community-acquired pneumonia remains unknown in about 50% of hospitalized patients. The diagnosis of the etiological agent is becoming more challenging and more critical as number of newer pathogens have been recognized in recent years. In the 3-year period prospective study we investigated adult patients with community-acquired pneumonia for Legionella, Leptospira, Hantaan virus and Orientia tsutsugamushi as potential etiologic agents. Methods : A prospective multicenter study was performed from May 1997 to April 2000. A total of 431 patients with community-acquired pneumonia under the inclusion criteria were examined for specific microbial diagnosis; sputum culture and PCR, and serologic teats including indirect immunofluorescence antibody (IFA) test for Legionella, and hemagglutination tests for Leptosoira, Hantaan virus and O. tsutsugamushi. Etiologic diagnosis was determined on the basis of the review of case record forms and specific laboratory diagnostic criteria. Results : During the study period a total of 385 sputum and 283 serum samples were examined. Legionella pneumonia was diagnosed in 2.3% (10/431) of the cases examined : 1.4% cases with PCR-positive (5/367) and 2.1% with positive IFA test (6/283). Leptospirosis and scrub typhus were diagnosed in 0.4% (1/252) and 2.0% (5/252), respectively. All 5 cases with scrub typhus occurred in late fall, and rash or eschar was not found. None of cases was Hantaan virus infection. Conclusion : The results suggest that Legionella, Leptospira, and O. tsutsugamushi should be considered in the etiologic diagnosis and empirical antibiotic therapy of community-acquired pneumonia.         Investigation on Health Effects of an Abandoned Metal Mine

        <P>To investigate potential health risks associated with exposure to metals from an abandoned metal mine, the authors studied people living near an abandoned mine (n=102) and control groups (n=149). Levels of cadmium, copper, arsenic, lead, and zinc were measured in the air, soil, drinking water, and agricultural products. To assess individual exposure, biomarkers of each metal in blood and urine were measured. β<SUB>2</SUB>-microglobulin, α<SUB>1</SUB>-microglobulin, and <I>N</I>-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase and bone mineral density were measured. Surface soil in the study area showed 2-10 times higher levels of metals compared to that of the control area. Metal concentrations in the groundwater and air did not show any notable differences between groups. Mean concentrations of cadmium and copper in rice and barley from the study area were significantly higher than those of the control area (<I>p</I><0.05). Geometric means of blood and urine cadmium in the study area were 2.9 µg/L and 1.5 µg/g Cr, respectively, significantly higher than those in the control area (<I>p</I><0.05). There were no differences in the levels of urinary markers of early kidney dysfunction and bone mineral density. The authors conclude that the residents near the abandoned mine were exposed to higher levels of metals through various routes.</P>

        The Effects of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in Differentiation of Bone Marrow Stromal Cell into Endothelial Cell

        Tissue engineering is attracting attention because it is new approaches for the repair and replacement of tissues and organs that have lost function due to variable reasons. Clinical application have already begun. One of the fundamental principles that underlies tissue engineering strategies is that a newly formed tissue must acquire sufficient vascularization. In recent studies, differentiation of the endothelial cells from variable cell sources has been reported, and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) is very important factor in differentiation. This study investigated whether differentiation of BMSC, cultured with VEGF in vitro, into endothelial cell is possible. BMSC was obtained from Dog BMSC was loaded onto an equal volume of 75ul VEGF and incubated at 37oC in 5% CO2 and 95% humidity. Media was changed every 2days. Total RNA was extracted by use of Trizol reagent. The gene expression of cultured cells was investigated by RT-PCR using the primers - nestin, VE-Cadherin, vWF and GAPDH as internal control. And the PCR products were electrophoresed on a 1.2% agarose gel. Digital images of electrophoresd gel were taken and quantified by densitometer(Bio-rad(R)). As time goes by, experiment group show spindle shape more clearly than control group and cell number increase. Nestin marker is expressed in all groups, beside expression of VE-Cadherin and vWF are higher in experiment group than control group. Experiment group treated with VEGF show high expression of the EC-specific marker: VE-Cadherin and vWF. The fact that 5 days culture group reveals the highest level of gene expression means that this group reachs the sufficient differentiation into EC and that it has potential to reduce the time of vascular tissue regeneration.

        The impact of obesity on the outcomes of laparoscopic colectomy : An observational study

        Purpose: The impact of obesity on the surgical outcomes of Asian patients undergoing laparoscopic colon surgery is not clear. The purpose was to evaluate the outcome of laparoscopic surgery in obese Asian patients with colon cancer. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the prospectively collected data of 1,740 consecutive patients who underwent laparoscopic surgery for colon cancer between January 2008 and December 2010. Patients were classified according to the categories proposed by the International Obesity Task Force, Non-obese (body mass index [BMI]<25.0 kg/m2), Obese-I (BMI, 25.0–29.9 kg/m2), and Obese-II (BMI≥30 kg/m2). Surgical outcomes, including open conversion, operative time, and postoperative hospital stay, were compared in the Non-obese, Obese-I, and Obese-II patients. Results: Of the 1,192 patients in the study, 812 (68.1%), 360 (30.2%), and 20 (1.7%), were classified as Non-obese, Obese-I, and Obese-II, respectively. The Obese-II group had higher conversion rates (10.0% vs. 3.6% and 1.6%, P=0.008) and, longer operative times (180.35 vs. 162.54 and 147.84 minutes, P<0.001) than the Obese-I and Non-obese group. However, the other postoperative outcomes were not significantly different. The overall survival and disease-free survival were not significantly different between groups (P=0.952). Multivariate analysis showed that the independent risk factor for conversion were BMI, total operative time, previous operative history, and cancer perforation. Conclusion: The outcomes of laparoscopic colon surgery in obese patients are similar to those of non-obese patients, offering all the benefits of a minimally invasive approach. However, the conversion rate was higher in obese patients. It is therefore very important for surgeons to be aware of these risks during laparoscopic colon surgery in obese patients.
