        해상풍력 산업생태계 분석을 위한 제언* : 신재생에너지산업 특수분류 기반 기업 간 거래네트워크 분석의 필요성

        This study reviews previous studies on the scale of offshore wind power industry ecosystems to provide basic data for a revitalization strategy for the offshore wind power industry and proposes an analysis of transaction networks based on the special classification of the renewable energy industry. First, we examine the localization rate, technology level, and price level of the offshore wind industry. Second, this research compares the methodology and estimation results of previous studies estimating the scale of the wind power industry. Third, we examine the details related to the enactment of a special classification of the renewable energy industry statistics and review the Korea Energy Agency's renewable energy industry statistics (focusing on 2019 and 2020). Finally, this study suggests the necessity of analyzing an inter-company transaction network based on special classifications of the renewable energy industry to grasp the status of each region and value chain of the offshore wind industry.

        전문가 설문에 의한 신재생에너지 자원지도 콘텐츠 수요조사

        The Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) provides the web service of the New-Renewable Energy Resource Map (www.kier-atlas.org), which offers comprehensive information for new-renewable energy resource assessment based on the Geographical Information System (GIS). In order to shift a development framework of map content from supply-push to demand-pull, a demand survey was conducted targeting KIER, an expert group in the new-renewable energy field. Firstly, ideas of new map content were derived from an in-depth interview survey targeting the specific researchers who are willing to use a new-renewable energy resource map to their research projects. Secondly, a web-based survey was carried out targeting all researchers in KIER to evaluate the political, business and research importance, ease and difficulty of the proposed map contents, and its necessity and availability. Finally, an Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) was performed to identify the high-priority, urgently needed thematic maps, which were chosen as a building-integrated solar thermal map and a suitability map for wind farm development.

        국내 재생에너지 개발 시나리오 고찰

        The Korean government announced a renewable energy target that is a 20 % share of renewables in theelectricity supply by 2030. This paper considered renewable energy scenarios for 2030 in Korea. Throughresource analysis and a siting study for solar and wind energy, the available capacity was estimated and newbusiness models were surveyed. Proper renewable energy scenarios were suggested considering the localdevelopment environment: resource potential, deployment experiences, environmental/grid constraints, etc. Solarpower would play a main role to meet the national renewable energy target at the early stage and wind powerwould supply a significant amount of electricity to the national grid in the long term. The main tasks foractivating the wind power supply chain in Korea, i.e., social acceptance, environmental regulations, siteplanning, grid integration, etc. are suggested.

        풍력발전기 나셀 내부 전장 시스템 하네스 모듈 대상 열적 민감도 분석

        In this study, thermal sensitivity analysis of the harness module in a wind turbine nacelle was performed through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using a general-purpose code, ANSYS CFX, based on experimental results. Reynolds-averaged Navier-stokes (RANS) steady flow mulation results for a total of five cases and the experimental results were consistent within an error of 2.24% at the peak temperature increment. A thermal sensitivity study of the Reynolds number of the harness system operating at a low Reynolds number was performed. It was confirmed that the peak temperature increment is linearly related to the inverse of the Nusselt number. Reynolds number correlations for peak temperature and Nusselt number at low Reynolds number are presented. A thermal sensitivity study of the harness module according to the resistance of the circuit was performed, and the peak temperature was reduced by 8.3%. It is expected that decreasing the peak temperature of the harness module by optimization of circuit resistance significantly reduces the probability of fire in a wind turbine nacelle.

        풍력터빈용 블레이드의 유리섬유 2축/3축 적층하이브리드 복합재 특성을 고려한 층간파괴인성 평가

        The composite blade is one of the main components of a wind turbine. Unfortunately, composite blades may have internal damage such as debonding, cracks, and delamination resulting from the manufacturing process or external fatigue loads. Among these damage modes, debonding damage occurring between the spar cap and shear web is the most significant damage mode. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the mechanism of debonding damage in spar cap-shear web adhesive joints of composite blades. For this purpose, it is required to analyze the mechanical properties considering the lamination pattern and contact conditions of the composite blades used in wind turbines. In particular, wind turbine blades receive a combined load, and the crack growth characteristics of the joint differ according to the combined load characteristics. In this study, to analyze the mechanism of joint damage under a combined load, for Mode I (Double Cantilever Beam, or DCB), Mode II ( End-Notched Flexure, or ENF) and Mode I/Mode II (Mixed Mode Bending, or MMB) specimens were designed based on ASTM D5528, D7905 and D6671 standards. Tests were performed with Mode I, Mode II and Mixed mode to obtain the interlaminar fracture toughness. Finally, the FE analysis was carried out for the Mode I specimen using the cohesive zone modeling (CZM) method to simulate the debonding damage growth mechanism.

        울산 앞바다 8 MW급 부유식 해상풍력터빈의 LCOE 연구

        The commercialization has been of great importance to the clean energy research sector for investing the wind farm development, but it would be difficult to reach a social consensus on the need to expand the economic feasibility of renewable energy due to the lack of reliable and continuous information on levelized cost of Energy (LCOE). Regarding this fact, this paper presents the evaluation of LCOE, focusing on Ulsan offshore region targeting to build the first floating offshore wind farm. Energy production is estimated by the meteorology data combined with the Leanwind Project power curve of an exemplar wind turbine. This work aims to analyze the costs of the Capex depending on site-specific variables. The cost of final LCOE was estimated by using Monte-Carlo method, and it became an average range 297,090 KRW/MWh, a minimum of 251,080 KRW/MWh, and a maximum of 341,910 KRW/MWh. In the year 2021, the SMP (system marginal price) and 4.5 REC (renewable energy certificate) can be paid if 1 MWh of electricity is generated by renewable energy. Considering current SMP and REC price, the floating platform industry, which can earn around 502,000 KRW/MWh, can be finally estimated highly competitive in the Korean market.

        네덜란드와 일본의 해상풍력 입지선정 절차 비교

        This study aims to find ways to increase stakeholder acceptance of offshore wind farms in Korea by improving their implementation processes. To achieve this, the study focused on the designation procedures for offshore wind farm zones in the Netherlands and Japan. Both countries have recently reorganized their national procedures by enacting new legislation. The study compared the two countries’ procedures and investigated which roles are being assigned to governments and business operators separately, and when and how stakeholders are engaged in the consultation processes. The Netherlands showed a centralized model where the central government takes responsibility not only for site selection but also site investigation and design. Business operators come in at the construction stage. On the other hand, Japan assigned more roles to local governments. The local governments recommend possible alternatives for wind farm zones to the central government. They must also confer with a public-private consultation council before zone decisions are made to ensure stakeholder acceptance. Business operators participate from the stage of site design, which is a much earlier stage compared to the Netherlands. After an investigation of the two countries cases, the study discusses implications of the possible improved implementation processes of offshore wind farms in Korea.

        부유식 해상 풍력터빈의 네거티브 댐핑에 관한 연구

        This paper presents a study on a negative damping phenomenon of a floating offshore wind turbine. The negative damping may lead to large resonant motion of floating offshore wind turbine. The reason of this effect is shown to be caused by a too fast blade-pitch controller compared with the rotational motion of the platform. By detuning the gain of PI controller and changing the constant torque after rated wind speed with blade-pitch control, the negative damping issue is solved, but the variations in the responses such as rotational speed or electrical power are increased. Therefore, sensitivity analysis of detuned gain is required for controller optimization.

        국내 육상 풍력단지 내 중형 풍력터빈 적용에 의한 연간발전량 및 하중 영향 예측

        In this study, the possibility of installing medium-sized wind turbines in existing wind farms with large-sized wind turbines to increase annual energy production (AEP) was investigated by comparing AEP and fatigue loads. For this, two onshore wind farms located in flat terrain were chosen. To construct wind resource maps for the wind farms, a Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS)-based computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis program, WindSim, was used. The wind resource maps were used as inputs to WindPRO to predict variations in AEP and fatigue loads in wind farms with and without medium-sized wind turbines. As a result, AEP increased by 2.00% and 10.0% when additional medium-sized wind turbines were installed in two existing target wind farms (A and B) without a decrease in the capacity factor (CF). The CF in each wind farm increased by 0.02 % and 0.44 %, respectively. The maximum fatigue load of the existing large-sized wind turbines increased slightly, but that of the medium-sized wind turbines installed additionally in wind farm A was predicted to be high, at 106.0 % and 100.2 %.

        Optimum performance and reliable operation of wind turbines and/or wind farms are crucial parameters for stakeholders such as OEMs, operators, owners and investors. The efficiency and life time of wind power heavily depends on operation and maintenance efforts. Every manufacturer or owner wants to have wind turbines with high reliability, which can be defined as the probability that a wind turbine will perform its designed function for a certain period of time under stated conditions. In this regard, IEC WG26 is now developing a technical specification defining information categories from which reliability metrics can be identified and reported.
