        Metagenomic Analysis of Fungal Communities Inhabiting the Fairy Ring Zone of Tricholoma matsutake

        Tricholoma matsutake, an ectomycorrhiza that has mutual relationships with the rootlet of Pinus denisflora, forms a fruiting body that serves as a valuable food in Asia. However, the artificial culture of this fungus has not been successful. Soil fungi, including T. matsutake, coexist with many other microorganisms and plants; therefore, complex microbial communities have an influence on the fruiting body formation of T. matsutake. Here, we report on the structures of fungal communities associated with the fairy ring of T. matsutake through the pyrosequencing method. Soil samples were collected inside the fairy ring zone, in the fairy ring zone, and outside the fairy ring zone. A total of 37,125 sequencing reads were obtained and 728 to 1,962 operational taxonomic units (OTUs) were observed in the sampling zones. The fairy ring zone had the lowest OTUs and the lowest fungal diversity of all sampling zones. The number of OTUs and fungal taxa inside and outside the fairy ring zone was, respectively, about 2 times and 1.5 times higher than the fairy ring. Taxonomic analysis showed that each sampling zone has different fungal communities. In particular, out of 209 genera total, 6 genera in the fairy ring zone, such as Hemimycena, were uniquely present and 31 genera, such as Mycena, Boletopsis, and Repetophragma, were specifically absent. The results of metagenomic analysis based on the pyrosequencing indicate a decrease of fungal communities in the fairy ring zone and changes of fungal communities depending on the fairy ring growth of T. matsutake.

        A 64-years-old man was admitted to emergency department with symptom of chest pain. The characteristic of symptom was squeezing pain at substernal area. The patient had a history of hypertension and diabetes mellitus. His electrocardiogram(ECG) showed ST elevation in lead Ⅰ, Ⅱ, V3-6 and his laboratory results revealed mild increase in cardiac enzymes. And his echocardiogram showed apical hypokinesis. Based on the suspicious symptoms and results for acute anterior myocardial infarction, we decided to take a coronary angiogram for further evaluation. However, coronary angiogram revealed normal epicardial coronary arteries. He was admitted at Intensive Care Unit for monitoring and treatment of heart failure. After 3 days of hospitalization, his mental status was changed. His brain computed tomography revealed subarachnoid hemorrhage. After 5 days, hypokinesis of apex was improved to nearly normal on echocardiogram. This is a case of transient left ventricular apical ballooning or takotsubo cardiomyopathy associated with subarachnoid hemorrhage.

      • 南漢江流域의 河系網分析

        This study attempts to analyze the drainage system of the Nam-Han River basin with the purpose of examing the characteristics and presenting the data for systematizing rivers in Korea. The Drainage system is analyzed according to Bifurcation ratio and Length ratio. The research is based upon analysis of 1 : 250,000 topographical map coverage. The results are as follows: (1) The main stream is found to be 5th order. The Bifurcation ratio is determined to be 4.95, and the Length ratio, 3.78. These ratio are higher than Nak-Dong and Geum River basin. (2) In view of the above findings, We can recognize that Nam-Han River basin has complicated geologic conditions and it is in the active erosion. (3) Correlation between order and number which is plotted on the semilog paper shows characteristics of natural stream systems. (4) Correlation between order and length expresses that the junction of the 4th order leans to the upper stream.

        The hypercube is a widely used topology for the interconnection network connecting processors of multicomputer, due to the economic and structural features. The communication of hypercube multicomputer is one of considerations to enhence the efficiency of programs. In the most systems, the communication is done by calling subroutines and messages are passed through the shortest path. In this work, we propose a communication management algorithm that keeps track of the communication routines where errors frequently occur in the hypercube programs. As a result, this algorithm can prevent processors from having a deadlock when executing programs in the hypercube system.

      • 금속착제를 갖는 산소부화막의 제조

        Composite membranes containing a metal complex as an oxygen carrier were prepared and tested for the capability of oxygen enrichment. The permeability characteristics of the membrane were measured by the volumetric method with the pressure difference ranging from 0.2 to 0.8Kg/cm². Both oxygen and nitrogen showed constant permeabilities, diffusion coefficients, and solubilities which do not depend on the pressure difference across the membrane. The metal complexes were also found to play a role of nitrogen carrier to a degree. For the case of the silicone membrane with Co(NO₃)₂.6H₂O complex, the permeability and the separation factor of oxygen were significantly improved to ??/cm³·cm/cm²·sec·cm-Hg and 2.7 respectively, at the pressure difference of 0.4Kg/cm². This improvement was attributed to the metal complex which acts as an oxygen carrier and thus increases the solubility of oxygen in the membrane.

(3) Correlation between order and length expresses that the junction of the 5th order leans to the lower stream.(4) The average drainage density of Buk-Han River Basin is 381m/㎢.

        This study is to find out the nearest value to actual slope and the different value between measured slope and actual slope. Mas-hi method is used in 1 : 25,000 and Complementary method in 1 : 50,000. The findings which were compared with the value through field survey are as follows. ⅰ) According to map scales and measurements, the measured value is different. ⅱ) In Mas-hi method applied in Mil-Yang river basin, it is higher than the suryey value (as√6˚), in Complementary method is lower than the survey value (as√6˚) .

        The purpose of this thesis is to inspect the step of spatial structure varied with the urban growth in place of Kwang-ju, to analyze the developing step of urban growth on the basis of the variety of shape-index and function-index on urban from 1930 to 1992 each year, to predict the variety direction of urban spatial structure for the concentrating and efficient urban function and to grope for the prospects of urban : what is the municipal concept in the land use, the variety of population, the change of traffic system, the change of urban planning zone, the change of executive zone, the transition of spatial structure on the basis of urban growth in Kwangiu. Considering the advent of subway in 1990, Pyoung-Dong industrial block, to work out these factors, the urban pattern in Kwangiu would be developed and established in aspect of long-range planning. The size of population, the changing pattern of land use planning and zonning are compared and analyzed to justify the relation with the urban comprehensive planning circulation planning.

      • 인구증감률에 의한 도시유형별 성장요인 연구

        Recently, cities are to be a new limelight in developing countries. Because, They have performed important roles in promoting and spreading economic and social development of the country. This study is concerned with all cities in Korea, and has three main purposes. First one is to select the general analysis variables affecting urban growth from existing theoretical literatures. Second one is to identify the dominant factors and their changes for the growth of cities in Korea through the analysis of correlation with growth rate. It could be done by case study of growth trends of all existing cities for analysis period. The last one is to find out a formula to estimate the future growth of cities in Korea. The results of this study could offer much suggestions to establish the development strategies of cities in Korea.

      • 인구추정을 위한 계량모형의 정립에 관한 연구

        The problems of over population in large cities and over outflow population in small and medium sized cities, and the difference of growth and unbalanced development between them occurred as a big social issue. And since defined as urban plan, urban facilities are being placed on the status of non-execution caused by a number of factor. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to find out appropriate solutions to various problems created by wrong applied assumption of population. And these solutions are to be applied to establishment of urban planning. Besides assuming the population of urban planning is the most important yardstick of deciding the size of future urban and physical environment. Therefore to development the plan more efficiently, the mathematical methods which is proper to the characteristics of urban must be implied and produced through the outlook based on multi-variate statistical analysis.
