The purpose of this study is development of experiment catchment for hydrological monitoring at Urban Watershed. The location of test basin is Dong-Eui University, Gaya Dong, Pusan, Karea. For the collecting of basic hydrologic data of experiment catchment, topography inquiry and survey was conducted, and sub-basins data, such as areas of test basin and impervious layer, were arranged. On the basis of that result, a drainage pattern was drawn up and for the collection of hydrological data such as the rainfall data and the water-level data-EMS installed at Dong-Eui Univ. in 1998, and AWS-DEU(Automatic Water-level Station-Dong-Eui Univ) installed at the point of the end discharge.

Conventional methods for stabilization of unstable cervical spines caused by flexion injury are sublaminar wiring and palte and screw fixation. These methods, however, carry the risk of damage to the cervical cord and or vertebral artery. We have used interlaminar clamps for the stabilization of sixteen cases of unstable cervical spine, including four cases of odontoid process fracture. There was suecessful fusion in all cases, no slippage of clamp and no deterioration of neurological function. Advantages of this method include the fact that there is no need for bone graft and that it is technically easy and inexpensive. Good stabilization allows early ambulation and so prevents complications such as pneumonia and decubitus ulcer.

Experiments were designed to evaluate the role of β-endorphin in the central cardiovascular control of the two-kidney on clipped hypertensive rats. 1. In the two-kidney one-clipped rat, blood pressure was significantly increased after 7 days of operation, whereas heart rate did not change. 2. In these preparations, β-endorphin contents in brain were significantly increased es-pecially in hypothalamus, medulla and pons, while decreases of maximum specific(^3H)-mor-phino binding were observed in thalamus, hypothalamus, medulla and pone. 3. Decreasing effects of intraventricular morphine on blood pressre and heart rate was potentiated in the two-kidney one-clipped hypertensive rats. These effects of intraventricular morphine were not blocked by intraventricular phenotolamine, phenoxybenzamine, yohimbine, piperoxan or prazosin, but by intraventricular naloxone. 4. In the two-kidney one-clipped hypertensive rats, decreasing effects of intraventricular clonidine on blood pressure and heart rate were potentiate. These effects of clonidine were inhibited by intraventricular naloxone. From the above results, it is suggested that changes of β-endorphin contents and opiate receptors in brain will take a role of centrol cardiovascular control of two-kidney one-clipped hypertensive rats by modulating the central cardiovascular control of two-kidney one-clipped hypertensive rats by modulating the central stmpathetic activity through a_2-adrenergic receptors. Because the usage of CFC and HCFC based refrigerants are restricted due to the depletion of ozone layer, the NH₃ gas, in the experiment is evaluated to the performance characteristics for the superheat control to improve the energy efficiency. The experiment is carried out about the condensing pressure of refrigeration system from 1,500㎪ to 1,600㎪ through the degree of superheat from 0 to 10℃ at each condensing pressure. As a result, in the case of shell and tube type of heat exchanger, the COP is more efficient than other cases at the degree of superheat 1℃ at each condensing pressure. In the case of shell and disk type of heat exchanger, the COP is the most efficient at the degree of superheat 0.

Villous adenoma of the ampulla of Vater Which is sometimes the cause of extrahepatic obstructive jaudice is uncommon disease. But they are important in spite of their rarity, because of frequent malignant change in the tumor as a focal or all occult tumor. Recently, the early diagnosis of ampullary tumors has become possible due to the ide application of fiberoptic endoscopy and increasing knowledge about the ampullary tumors. Although the biopsies were taken during the endoscopy, sometimes one might miss the area of malignant degeneration. But, it could increase the diagnostic accuracy by performing a hiopsy at the highly suspected site ofl malignancy, like our case in which fixed and discolorecl areas in the lesion were biopsied. So we recommed an affn.ssive endoscopic study and hypotonic duodenogram. Even thought it is diagnosed as benign, and can be treated with endoscopic pelypectorny, but we recommend the complete resection of the tumor because of high incidence of recurrence and malign ant transformati on.

Several studies have shown that bituminous coal can be used for the production of organic acids especially aromatic carboxylic acids, through oxidation. This research is concerned with the Korean anthracite could be used for the same purpose. In case of Changsung anthracite the maximum yield was obtained when the coal was oxidized for 100 minutes at the reaction temperature of 270℃ under the oxygen pressure of 880 psig. In addition, six other kinds of anthracite were also tested. Among those Yongwol anthractite which showed the best yield, yielded about 40% of water soluble organic acids on the amount of pure coal excluded moisture and ash. It was also shown that the organic acid yield is not related with the proximate analytical value of coal but with the structure of coal or reactivity of coal, and the organic acids produced were identified as benzene polycarboxylic acids by esterification and I.R. Spectra.
