      • 창지투선도구와 북한나선특별시간 경제협력

        림금숙(Lin, jin―shu) 국제지역연구학회 2012 국제지역학논총 Vol.5 No.2

The economic and trade cooperation between Changchun?Jilin?Tumen Pilot Zone and the city of Luoxian in DPRK is the need for the realization of the strategic target of the Changchun?Jilin?Tumen Pilot Zone, the promotion of the opening up of the city of Luoxian in DPRK, and the promotion of the economic and trade cooperation in countries in Tumen River area. Shu-Tsen Liu(Shu-Tsen Liu),Sheng-Che Lin(Sheng-Che Lin),Jane Pei-Chen Chang(Jane Pei-Chen Chang),Kai-Jie Yang(Kai-Jie Yang),Che-Sheng Chu(Che-Sheng Chu),Chia-Chun Yang(Chia-Chun Yang),Chih-Sung Liang( 대한정신약물학회 2023 CLINICAL PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE Vol.21 No.1

There is growing evidence that the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is associated with increased risks of psychiatric sequelae. Depression, anxiety, cognitive impairments, sleep disturbance, and fatigue during and after the acute phase of COVID-19 are prevalent, long-lasting, and exerting negative consequences on well-being and imposing a huge burden on healthcare systems and society. This current review presented timely updates of clinical research findings, particularly focusing on the pathogenetic mechanisms underlying the neuropsychiatric sequelae, and identified potential key targets for developing effective treatment strategies for long COVID. In addition, we introduced the Formosa Long COVID Multicenter Study (FOCuS), which aims to apply the inflammation theory to the pathogenesis and the psychosocial and nutrition treatments of post-COVID depression and anxiety.

A retrospective analysis of 20-year data of the surgical management of ulcerative colitis patients in Taiwan: a study of Taiwan Society of Inflammatory Bowel Disease

        ( Chun-chi Lin ),( Shu-chen Wei ),( Been-ren Lin ),( Wen-sy-tsai ),( Jinn-shiun Chen ),( Tzu-chi Hsu ),( Wei-chen Lin ),( Tien-yu Huang ),( Te-hsin Chao ),( Hung-hsin Lin ),( Jau-min Wong ),( Jen-kou 대한장연구학회 2016 Intestinal Research Vol.14 No.3

Background/Aims: With the recent progress in medical treatment, surgery still plays a necessary and important role in treating ulcerative colitis (UC) patients. In this study, we analyzed the surgical results and outcomes of UC in Taiwan in the recent 20 years, via a multi-center study through the collaboration of Taiwan Society of IBD. Methods: A retrospective analysis of surgery data of UC patients from January 1, 1995, through December 31, 2014, in 6 Taiwan major medical centers was conducted. The patients’ demographic data, indications for surgery, and outcome details were recorded and analyzed. Results: The data of 87 UC patients who received surgical treatment were recorded. The median post-operative follow-up duration was 51.1 months and ranged from 0.4 to 300 months. The mean age at UC diagnosis was 45.3±16.0 years and that at operation was 48.5±15.2 years. The 3 leading indications for surgical intervention were uncontrolled bleeding (16.1%), perforation (13.8%), and intractability (12.6%). In total, 27.6% of surgeries were performed in an emergency setting. Total or subtotal colectomy with rectal preservation (41.4%) was the most common operation. There were 6 mortalities, all due to sepsis. Emergency operation and low pre-operative albumin level were significantly associated with poor survival (P =0.013 and 0.034, respectively). Conclusions: In the past 20 years, there was no significant change in the indications for surgery in UC patients. Emergency surgeries and low pre-operative albumin level were associated with poor survival. Therefore, an optimal timing of elective surgery for people with poorly controlled UC is paramount.

      • INVESTIGATING THE DEVELOPMENT OF BRAND LOYALTY IN BRAND COMMUNITIES FROM A POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY PERSPECTIVE

        Chia-Wu Lin,Kai-Yu Wang,Shu-Hao Chang,Jin-An Lin 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2016 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2016 No.7

Brand communities have been increasingly used by marketers to build brands. A brand community can be defined as a “…group of consumers with a shared enthusiasm for the brand and a well-developed social identity, whose members engage jointly in group actions to accomplish collective goals and/or express mutual sentiments and commitments” (Bagozzi and Dholakia, 2006, p. 45). Recent research on brand communities has begun to identify the importance of consumers’ psychological processes in regard to developing successful brand communities. Based on the flow theory from positive psychology, we propose that flow could be generated by brand community characteristics and plays an important role in influencing brand community members’ attitudes toward the brand. Specifically, we propose a model that identifies brand community characteristics (i.e., community cohesiveness and information quality) that produce flow experience and how the flow experience impacts brand identification and brand loyalty. Members from 31 automobile brand communities participated in this survey study, and 580 validated questionnaires were returned. Structural Equation Model was used to test the research hypotheses. The results show that community cohesiveness and information quality positively directly influence brand identification and also indirectly influence brand identification via flow. Flow also positively influences members’ brand identification and, subsequently, impacts brand loyalty. The results from our research contribute to the branding, brand community, and flow theory literature.

Antiviral activity of Rheum palmatum methanol extract and chrysophanol against Japanese encephalitis virus

        Shu-Jen Chang,Su-Hua Huang,Ying-Ju Lin,Yi-Yun Tsou,Cheng-Wen Lin 대한약학회 2014 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.37 No.9

Rheum palmatum, Chinese traditional herb, exhibits a great variety of anti-cancer and anti-virusesproperties. This study rates antiviral activity of R. palmatumextracts and its components against Japanese encephalitisvirus (JEV) in vitro. Methanol extract of R. palmatumcontained higher levels of aloe emodin, chrysophanol, rhein, emodin and physcion than water extract. Methanol extract(IC50 = 15.04 lg/ml) exhibited more potent inhibitoryeffects on JEV plaque reduction than water extract(IC50 = 51.41 lg/ml). Meanwhile, IC50 values determinedby plaque reduction assay were 15.82 lg/ml for chrysophanoland 17.39 lg/ml for aloe-emodin, respectively. Virucidalactivity of agents correlated with anti-JEV activity, while virucidal IC50 values were 7.58 lg/ml for methanolextract, 17.36 lg/ml for water extract, 0.75 lg/ml forchrysophanol and 0.46 lg/ml for aloe-emodin, respectively. In addition, 10 lg/ml of extract, chrysophanol or aloeemodin caused 90 % inhibition of JEV yields in cells andsignificantly activated gamma activated sequence-drivenpromoters. Hence, methanol extract of R. palmatum andchrysophanol with high therapeutic index might be usefulfor development of antiviral agents against JEV.

Studying the Strain Effect on Silicon Atomic Wires

        Shu-Tong Chang,Shu-Hui Liao,Hsiao-Chun Huang,Chee-Wee Liu,Chung-Yi Lin 한국물리학회 2008 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.53 No.6

The transport properties of a Si3 atomic wire system, which is formed by a Si3 cluster connected to two lithium electrodes with bias applied, is studied using the simulator Virtual NanoLab that is constructed based on the non-equilibrium Green’s function (NEGF) scheme. We investigated the Si3 atomic wire system under three strain conditions (tensile, compressive and shear). Different trends in the I-V characteristics are observed for the three cases at various applied biases. The transmission spectrum T(E, Vb), as a function of energy and applied biases, are analyzed. The interactions among eigenstates of the molecular projected self-consistent Hamiltonian (MPSH) strongly affect the transport properties of the system.

Bond Behavior of Concrete-Filled Steel Tube with Molybdenum Tailing

        Shu-Chao Lin,Fangbiao Liu,Qi Bai 한국강구조학회 2024 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.24 No.2

To investigate the bond behavior of the concrete fi lled steel tubular (CFST) using the molybdenum tailing as the fi ne aggregate, 24 test specimens of the CFST are designed in consideration of molybdenum tailing replacement ratio, concrete strength, ratio of the fi lling height to the outer diameter and ratio of the outer diameter to the wall thickness. A series of push-out tests are conducted to analyze the working mechanism, failure mode, and bond stress-slip relation of the test specimens. The results show that the usage of the molybdenum tailing as the fi ne aggregate has no obvious eff ect on the working mechanism and failure mode of the CFST regardless of the test parameters, even though a slight diff erence is observed in the failure processes. The increase in the molybdenum tailing replacement ratio remarkably decreases the ultimate bond strength, but increase the ultimate failure slip of the test specimens whilst the ultimate failure slip shows no distinct change under the same ratio of the fi lling height to the outer diameter and ratio of the outer diameter to the wall thickness. The CFST test specimens with the molybdenum tailing shows slightly worse bond behavior than those without the molybdenum tailing. The proposed formula for the ultimate bond strength of the CFST with the molybdenum tailing fi ts well with the test results. Since, the limitations regarding the ultimate bond strengths of the CFST in the existing relevant specifi cations show the enough safety reserve, the proposed formula can be directly used for the design of the CFST with the molybdenum tailing.
