The genetic variabilities of second chromosomes concealed Sasang natural and experimental populations of Drosophila melanogaster have been analyzed. The experimental population was composed of D.melanogaster which had the lethal-free second chromosome collected from Sasang natural population in 1982. The results were as follow; The mean frequencies of deleterious genes were estimated to be 33.33% in Sasang natural population and 31.72% in experimental population. The allelism rates in lethal genes isolated from the natural and experimental populations were calculated to be about 0.95% and 12.28%, respectively. The allelism rates between lethal genes isolated from the natural population and those of the experimental population were calculated to be about 0.01%. The mean values of elimination by frequencies of deleterious genes and allelism rates were 0.0011 in the natural population and 0.0124 in the experimental population. The frequencies of phenotypic sterility of males in the natural and experimental populations were estimated to be 1.49% and 1.36%, respectively. The frequencies of genotypic sterility of females and males were estimated to be 0.90% and 1.80% in the natural population, and that of males was 2.38% in the experimental population.

The purpose of the study was to undertaken to analysis the Grab starting technique between national representive team(3) and Cheju's representive team(3) with 3D cinematography. The conclusions obtained were as follows: Cheju's showed more elapsed time than national representive team on starting block. and more vertical than horizontal direction of COG position, more concentrated vertical velocity & acceleration than forward direction. Therefore It is necessory for cheju's to train balanced trust force in horizontal and vertical direction in grab starting technique.

Current Status of Severe Drug-induced Liver Injury: A Single-Center Experience in South Korea

Aims: Drug induced liver injury (DILI) is a common cause of severe liver injury in Korea. We investigated the causative agents and clinical manifestations of DILI in a single health care center. Methods: A retrospective analysis examined the medical records of patients with severe DILI requiring admission from January 2011 to December 2017. A total of 46 cases that have causal relationship to agents were included. Results: The mean age was 54 years and female patients were predominant (78%). The causative agents included “herb or herbal medications” (N=21, 45.7%), “general pharmaceuticals or prescription-based medicines” (N=14, 30.4%), “folk medicines” (N=11, 23.9%). As a single causative agent, kudzu (Pueraria spp.) root extract (N=5) and fimasartan (anti-hypertensive agent) (N=4) were common. The frequencies of hepatocellular, cholestatic, and mixed types were 84.8%, 6.5%, and 8.7 %, respectively. Median serum values of peak total bilirubin, aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase were 5.4 mg/dl (Interquartile range [IQR], 2.9-15.9), 911 U/L (IQR, 495-1470), 1138 U/L (IQR 350-1573), respectively. The average duration of hospital stay was 10 days (range 3-36). Most patients (96%) recovered clinically. Two patients (4%) caused by kudzu root extract and mushroom (Fomes fomentarius) extract progressed to fulminant hepatic failure and expired at 5 and 10 days of hospitalization waiting liver transplantation, respectively. Conclusions: The causative agents of DILI were very diverse. Herbal medications or herbs were still common causes of DILI. Especially, kudzu (Pueraria spp.) root extract and fimasartan were frequently related with DILI.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>To provide and improve national energy security and low-carbon green energy economy, as a government-supported research institute related to developing new and renewable energy technologies, including energy efficiency, Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) needs to establish a long-term strategic energy technology roadmap (ETRM) in the hydrogen economy sector for sustainable economic development. In this paper, we establish a strategic ETRM for hydrogen energy technologies in the hydrogen economy considering five criteria: economic impact (EI), commercial potential (CP), inner capacity (IC), technical spin-off (TS), and development cost (DC). As an extended research, we apply the integrated two-stage multi-criteria decision-making approach, including the hybrid fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and data envelopment analysis (DEA) model, to assess the relative efficiency of hydrogen energy technologies in order to scientifically implement the hydrogen economy. Fuzzy AHP reflects the vagueness of human thought with interval values, and allocates the relative importance and weights of four criteria: EI, CP, IC, and TS. The DEA approach measures the relative efficiency of hydrogen energy technologies for the hydrogen economy with a ratio of outputs over inputs.</P><P>The result of measuring the relative efficiency of hydrogen energy technologies focuses on 4 hydrogen technologies out of 13 hydrogen energy technologies. KIER has to focus on developing 4 strategic hydrogen energy technologies from economic view point in the first phase with limited resources. In addition, if energy policy makers consider as some candidates for strategic hydrogen technologies of the other 9 hydrogen energy technology, the performance and productivity of 9 hydrogen energy technologies should be increased and the input values of them have to be decreased.</P><P>With a scientific decision-making approach, we can assess the relative efficiency of hydrogen energy technologies efficiently and allocate limited research and development (R&D) resources effectively for well-focused R&D.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P><P>► Hybrid fuzzy AHP/DEA model is appled for assessing 13 hydrogen technologies. ► Weights of 5 criteria are allocated by fuzzy AHP. ► 4 out of 13 hydrogen technologies are efficient by the DEA. ► We can focus on 4 hydrogen technologies with economic view points strategically.</P>
Extrusion Limit Diagram of Mg Alloy by Using Finite Element Method

<P>In order to prevent the surface defect in the magnesium alloy extrusion process, it is important to set an appropriate process condition. The extrusion limit diagram is very useful to achieve the maximum extrusion speed without surface defect. In this study, the extrusion limit diagram for the magnesium alloy extrusion is constructed by using extrusion experiment and finite element analysis. For finite element analysis hot compression test is carried out to obtain the effective stress and stain curves according to the various strain rates and temperatures. The effectiveness of the constructed extrusion limit diagram is verified through the porthole extrusion experiment for producing the magnesium alloy bumper beam.</P>
