New Model for Predicting Instantaneous Cutting Rate of Axial-type Roadheaders

Roadheaders are mechanical excavators which have been extensively used in tunneling, mining and civil engineering works. Performance prediction of the roadheader is major factor in determining the economy of an underground excavation project. In this study, a new model for predicting the Instantaneous Cutting Rate (ICR) has been developed. The performance of EBZ260W axialtype roadheader has been evaluated in the laboratory artificial rock cutting tests and in the tunneling field tests. Using the model, the processes of the artificial rock cutting in the laboratory tests have also been simulated. The predicted average ICRs in the laboratory tests, and in the simulations, together with the measured average ICRs in the laboratory tests and in the field tests are presented in this paper. The comparison of the predicted and measured ICRs shows that the relative error is within 5%. There are also reasonable agreements and strong correlations between the model and tests results. The new ICR prediction model is also supported by the empirical prediction formulas developed by other researchers. Hence, the model can be used to reliably predict the ICR for axial-type roadheaders.

Rural health care reformed in the new situation in China, indicating that the construction of medical facilities not only to solve difficult medical problems, but also to take into account the efficiency and fairness of the use of medical resources allocation. Facing these problems, the paper aims to assess the spatial distribution of rural medical services by using geographic information systems (GIS) and spatial accessibility indexes. Lankao County in Henan Province and 21 hospitals of township and county are selected as study samples. First adopted ArcGIS10.0 to collate data. Second, the authors established a network dataset to analysis the maximum coverage for hospital services space accessibility. At last, established Huff model and built a scientific evaluation for the current hospitals’ distribution. There are several findings from the case study. First, the distribution of medical facility is unbalanced in rural areas in term of per capita, such as opportunity for assessing medical services and the convenience of utilizing medical services. Second, by using the Huff Model to calculate the potential population in service regions, the Huff Model to calculate the potential population in service regions, the results showed the low efficiency of the use of medical resources and the problems in these regions.

Fish mycobacteriosis is a common bacterial disease in many species of freshwater and marine fish and has caused severe loss of fish production. Mycobacterium marinum has been the most prevalent pathogen observed in several outbreaks of mycobacteriosis of farmed sturgeons in China. However, the immune responses and pathology of sturgeons in mycobacterial infection are rarely studied. Therefore, we used the Illumina RNA-seq method to analyze the transcriptome profile of Acipenser schrenckii challenged with Mycobacterium marinum. To begin, 168,220 non-redundant contigs were acquired from the infection and control groups, and among these, 33,225 contigs have acquired annotations. A total of 4,043 differently expressed (DE) contigs between the two groups were identified, and among these, 2479 were upregulated and 1564 were down-regulated in the infected fish. A total of 1,340 DE contigs with acquired annotations in KEGG were enriched for 124 pathways including the TNF signaling pathway, and the Toll-like receptor signaling pathway. The roles of DE genes involved in significant pathways and other processes were discussed. The 2,209 DE contigs that have yet to acquire proper annotation may represent candidate genes associated with infection in sturgeons and are expected to serve as immunogenetic resources for further study. To our best knowledge, this is the first transcriptome study on sturgeons under bacterial infection.

Sodium alginate (SA) is a renewable material with broad application prospects in textiles, medicine, and otherfields. However, the disadvantage of poor strength and brittleness limited its future application. In this work, the SA wasreinforced by the hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) with a semi-interpenetrating network which leverages thefavourable properties. The structure and surface morphology of SA/HPMC blend membranes after Ca ion cross-linking wereexamined by FTIR, Raman, XRD and SEM. The mechanical properties and water absorbency of the blend membranes werealso studied. The results indicated that the hydrogen bond was found in SA/HPMC blend membranes, which improved theSA/HPMC blend membranes stability. Compared with calcium alginate membrane, the tensile strength and elongation atbreak of SA/HPMC blend membranes were improved to 57 % and 400 %, respectively.

In this paper, mean square exponential stability (MSES) and almost sure exponential stability (ASES) for linear stochastic neutral systems (LSNSs) with general delays described by Stieltjes integrals are investigated. The use of the Stieltjes integrals allows the delays in the system under study to be either discrete, distributed, or a mixture of the two. Sufficient conditions for the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) in the unified form are obtained by applying stochastic version descriptor system approach and Lyapunov-Krasovskii (L-K) functional based approach. Firstly, the condition based on the form of spectral radius is proposed to ensure the stability of the corresponding difference operator described by Stieltjes integrals. Secondly, differently from the existing delay-dependent stability conditions of LSNSs, the proposed condition depends only on the delays of drift part and independent of the delays of diffusion part. Numerical examples show the effectiveness of the proposed approach finally.

A simple and effective method is introduced to synthesize a series of polystyrene-b-poly(oligo(ethylene oxide) monomethyl ether methacrylate)-b-polystyrene (PSt-b-POEOMA-b-PSt) triblock copolymers. The structures of PSt-b-POEOMA-b-PSt copolymers were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopy. The molecular weight and molecular weight distribution of the copolymer were measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC). Furthermore£¨the self-assembling and drug-loaded behaviours of three different ratios of PSt-b-POEOMA-b-PSt were studied. These copolymers could readily self-assemble into micelles in aqueous solution. The vitamin E-loaded copolymer micelles were produced by the dialysis method. The micelle size and core-shell structure of the block copolymer micelles and the drug-loaded micelles were confirmed by dynamic light scattering (DLS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The thermal properties of the copolymer micelles before and after drug-loaded were investigated by different scanning calorimetry (DSC). The results show that the micelle size is slightly increased with increasing the content of hydrophobic segments and the micelles are still core-shell spherical structures after drug-loaded. Moreover, the glass transition temperature (Tg) of polystyrene is reduced after the drug loaded. The drug loading content (DLC) of the copolymer micelles is 70%-80% by ultraviolet (UV) photolithography analysis. These properties indicate the micelles self-assembled from PSt-b- POEOMA-b- PSt copolymers would have potential as carriers for the encapsulation of hydrophobic drugs.

Unsymmetrical complex plate and shell structure is one of the common engineering structures. In practice, more redundant materials exist because of the irrationality of this kind of structure with heavy load and multiple working conditions, and the study of its topology optimization has become an engaging topic. Using the SIMP model, topological results show that one side of the main web is a hollow structure, and the other side of the auxiliary web is a truss structure. According to the topological results and considering manufacturable processing, a new structure is redesigned, the size and shape of the redesigned structure is secondary optimized, and the final structure is obtained. The method in this paper not only meets the performance requirements of the unsymmetrical complex plate and shell structures, but also realizes the topology and lightweight. The effectiveness scientific research value of the proposed method is verified by engineering examples.
