        어린이집 아동학대 인식, 원인 및 예방에 관한 인식 비교 -보육교사, 예비 보육교사, 부모를 대상으로-

        본 연구는 어린이집 아동학대에 대한 인식을 보육교사, 예비 보육교사, 부모를 대상으로 살펴보고자 이루어졌다. 이를 위해 서울시와 경기도에 위치한 어린이집의 보육교사 159명과 부모 144명, 아동학 관련 학과에 재학 중인 예비 보육교사 146명을 대상으로 조사하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 보육교사, 예비 보육교사, 부모의 어린이집 아동학대에 대한 인식의 일반적인 경향 및 차이를 살펴본 결과 전반적으로 부모와 예비 보육교사가 보육교사 보다 어린이집 아동학대를 더 민감하게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 보육교사, 예비 보육교사, 부모의 어린이집 아동학대 원인 및 예방에 대한 인식을 살펴본 결과, 연구대상 모두 아동학대 원인의 1, 2순위를 많은 업무와 스트레스가 있는 교사와 교사의 인성 문제로 인식하였다. 어린이집 아동학대 원인 3순위를 보육교사와 부모는 교사와 부모의 관계로 인식하는 반면 예비 보육교사는 영유아 문제로 인식하였다. 어린이집 아동학대 예방에 대해서는 1순위를 공통적으로 교사의 직무스트레스 해소로 인식하였다. 아동학대 예방의 2순위로 예비보육교사와 부모는 교사의 인성교육으로 인식하였으며, 보육교사는 아동학대에 대한 교육으로 인식하였다. 보육교사와 부모는 아동학대 예방방안 3순위를 부모와의 관계 개선으로 인식하였으며 예비보육교사는 보육교사의 아동학대 교육의 필요성을 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 보육의 질을 향상하고 아동을 건강하게 보육하기 위해 어린이집 아동학대에 대한 인식의 전환과 대상들의 인식의 간극을 줄일 수 있는 교육의 필요성을 시사해 준다. The purpose of this study was to examine the perception of child abuse of chidcare center in childcare teachers, pre-service teachers, and parents. The participated for the study were 159 daycare center staff, 144 parents, and 146 pre-service teachers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. In order to examine the perceptions of child abuse in childcare centers of the study subjects, Park Bong-ju (2018) used ’Child Abuse Child Abuse Recognition Questionnaire’ designed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Central Childcare Information Center (2012). The descriptive statistics of the mean and standard deviation were calculated for the general tendency of child abuse awareness among childcare teachers, pre-service teachers, and parents’ and The F-value was calculated by one - way ANOVA in order to investigate the difference of awareness of child abuse in childcare center by the subjects. When there was a significant difference, post - test was conducted with Scheffe analysis. The main results of this study were as follows. First, the general trends and differences in perception of child abuse among childcare teachers, pre-service teachers, and parents showed that parents and pre-service teachers more perceived childcare abuse more sensitively than childcare teachers. Second, the perceptions of childcare teachers, pre-service teachers, and parents about the causes of child abuse and prevention showed that the perceptions of childcare teachers, pre-service teachers, and parents were relatively consistent. The First causes of child abuse as a teachers who had many tasks and stresses. The Second causes of child abuse as a personality problem of teachers. The third causes of child abuse is perceived as the relationship between teacher and parent, while the pre-service teacher perceives it as infant problem. The first way to prevent child abuse at daycare centers was to relieve teacher’s job stress. As a second priority in preventing child abuse, pre-service teachers and parents were recognized as teachers’ personality education, and childcare teachers were recognized as education on child abuse. Childcare teachers and parents recognized the third priority as improvement of their relationship with their parents, and pre-service teachers were found to recognize the need for education of child abuse by childcare teachers. These results suggest the need for education to improve the quality of care and reduce the gap between the perception of child abuse in childcare centers and the perceptions of targets to improve childcare.

        Cholesterol depletion induces anoikis-like apoptosis via FAK down-regulation and caveolae internalization

        <P>Caveolae (lipid rafts), microdomains of the plasma membrane, are known to contain various signalling molecules and consequently are involved in the regulation of many biological functions. To investigate the role of the caveolae in cell survival and adhesion, we disrupted the caveolae by depletion of cholesterol, a major lipid component of the caveolae, with methyl-β cyclodextrin (MβCD) treatment of A431 cells. We found that cholesterol depletion induced an anoikis-like cell death involving actin reorganization, resulting in a decrease in cell spreading and an increase in cell detachment, which was reversed by cholesterol addition. Disruption of caveolae led to the down-regulation of FAK, Src activation, tyrosine phosphorylation of caveolin-1 and mobilization of caveolae markers, GM1 and caveolin-1, from the cell surface to the cytoplasm, which were also recovered by cholesterol addition. The expression of dominant-active FAK was able to delay caveolae internalization and apoptosis and attenuated Akt inactivation by MβCD, whereas dominant-negative FAK expression resulted in enhanced apoptosis. Moreover, FAK down-regulation by si-RNA resulted in Akt inactivation and thus increased cell death by MβCD treatment. Our results suggest that the cholesterol content and/or surface levels of the caveolae affect the activity of FAK, which in turn regulates caveolae internalization and cell survival.       • The Complete Plastome Sequence of an Antarctic Bryophyte <i>Sanionia uncinata</i> (Hedw.) Loeske

        <P>Organellar genomes of bryophytes are poorly represented with chloroplast genomes of only four mosses, four liverworts and two hornworts having been sequenced and annotated. Moreover, while Antarctic vegetation is dominated by the bryophytes, there are few reports on the plastid genomes for the Antarctic bryophytes. <I>Sanionia uncinata</I> (Hedw.) Loeske is one of the most dominant moss species in the maritime Antarctic. It has been researched as an important marker for ecological studies and as an extremophile plant for studies on stress tolerance. Here, we report the complete plastome sequence of <I>S</I>. <I>uncinata</I>, which can be exploited in comparative studies to identify the lineage-specific divergence across different species. The complete plastome of <I>S</I>. <I>uncinata</I> is 124,374 bp in length with a typical quadripartite structure of 114 unique genes including 82 unique protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes and four rRNA genes. However, two genes encoding the <I>α</I> subunit of RNA polymerase (<I>rpoA</I>) and encoding the cytochrome b<SUB>6/f</SUB> complex subunit VIII (<I>petN</I>) were absent. We could identify nuclear genes homologous to those genes, which suggests that <I>rpoA</I> and <I>petN</I> might have been relocated from the chloroplast genome to the nuclear genome.</P>

        Substantial Lipid Increases During Menopausal Transition in Korean Middle-Aged Women

        Background: Adverse lipid profiles are observed in postmenopausal women. However, there is insufficient evidence of the association between lipids and reproductive aging in Korean women. We aimed to characterize lipid changes with respect to timing relative to menopause in Korean middle-aged women. Methods: This study included 1,436 premenopausal women who had a natural menopause during the follow-up period (median = 15.76 years) from the Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study (KoGES) Ansan and Anseong cohort. Lipid levels were measured every 2 years, and the magnitudes of annual lipid changes and differences in the changes by premenopausal body mass index were estimated using piecewise linear mixed-effects models. Results: All lipid levels increased greatly from 3 or 5 years before menopause to 1 year after menopause in all women, regardless of their premenopausal body mass index. During the period, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels increased at 0.42 mg/dL per year (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.29 to 0.55 mg/dL). Nevertheless, non-HDL-C levels simultaneously increased at 3.42 mg/dL per year (95% CI, 3.11 to 3.72 mg/dL), and an annual change in the non-HDL-C to HDL-C ratio was 0.05 (95% CI, 0.04 to 0.06). One year after menopause, changes in all lipid parameters significantly slowed down, except for the nonHDL-C to HDL-C ratio (P < 0.001 for all). The ratio continued to increase until 3 years after menopause, but thereafter, the change leveled off. Conclusion: Women experienced remarkable increases in lipid levels during menopausal transition, highlighting the need for early intervention strategies for cardiovascular disease prevention in women.

        Dysregulation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway via Rnf146 upregulation in a VPA-induced mouse model of autism spectrum disorder

        Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder associated with impaired social behavior and communication, repetitive behaviors, and restricted interests. In addition to genetic factors, environmental factors such as prenatal drug exposure contribute to the development of ASD. However, how those prenatal factors induce behavioral deficits in the adult stage is not clear. To elucidate ASD pathogenesis at the molecular level, we performed a high-resolution mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomic analysis on the prefrontal cortex (PFC) of mice exposed to valproic acid (VPA) in utero, a widely used animal model of ASD. Differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) in VPA-exposed mice showed significant overlap with ASD risk genes, including differentially expressed genes from the postmortem cortex of ASD patients. Functional annotations of the DEPs revealed significant enrichment in the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, which is dysregulated by the upregulation of Rnf146 in VPA-exposed mice. Consistently, overexpressing Rnf146 in the PFC impaired social behaviors and altered the Wnt signaling pathway in adult mice. Furthermore, Rnf146-overexpressing PFC neurons showed increased excitatory synaptic transmission, which may underlie impaired social behavior. These results demonstrate that Rnf146 is critical for social behavior and that dysregulation of Rnf146 underlies social deficits in VPA-exposed mice.

        Accuracy of Horse-Riding Energy Consumption according to Accelerometer Wearing Location

        The purpose of this study is to verify the accuracy of energy consumption per wearing location (waist, wrist, ankle) of uniaxial accelerometer (GT1M) during horse-riding exercise (normal-walking, fast-walking, running). The study subjects were conveniently sampled from 11 males in their 20s from Shorse-riding course who have over 3 years of experience in horse-riding and are licensed as leisure sports instructors (horse-riding), and the following conclusion was drawn. For normal-walking, there was no significant difference of standard energy consumption among waist, wrist, and ankle, and all three locations showed confidence interval with small deviation in Bland-Altman Plot. On the other hand, for fast-walking and running, only wrist showed no significant difference, where only wrist location showed low-deviation confidence interval in Bland-Altman Plot. According to such results, the accuracy was relatively high for wrist-wearing when predicting horse-riding activity energy consumption using accelerometer. Therefore, the wearing location must be considered when predicting horse-riding activity energy consumption with accelerometer on site.

        Block Constrained Trellis Coded Vector Quantization of LSF Parameters for Wideband Speech Codecs

        In this paper, block constrained trellis coded vector quantization (BC-TCVQ) is presented for quantizing the line spectrum frequency parameters of the wideband speech codec. Both a predictive structure and a safety-net concept are combined into BC-TCVQ to develop the predictive BC-TCVQ. The performance of this quantization is compared with that of the linear predictive coding vector quantizer used in the AMRWB codec, demonstrating reductions in spectral distortion.
