      • Prequalification of VDSL2 copper customers for G.fast services with artificial intelligence technology

        Pang-Chen Liu,Shun-Kai Yang,Lung-Chin Huang,Huai-Eu Tseng,Fei-Hua Kuo,Tai-Chueh Shih 한국통신학회 2020 한국통신학회 APNOMS Vol.2020 No.09

In recent years, due to customers have higher requirements for 4K/8K video and high-speed internet, telecom operators have begun to deploy FTTH network , but found that it is generally difficult to deploy fiber to the home, so G.fast technology has been favored by most telecom operators around the world and have begun to actively deploy. For the most widely deploy VDSL2 line with maximum rate that can only provide 100M internet service, a intelligent and accurate G.fast 300M high speed service prequalification technology, is a major research topic for telecom operators to promote 300M high-speed internet service. This paper proposes to use AI machine learning to estimate the G.fast line rate by using VDSL2 line attenuation to meet the real-site provision needs of telecommunications operators.

      • Assimilating AOD retrievals from GOCI and VIIRS to forecast surface PM2.5 episodes over Eastern China

        Pang, Jiongming,Liu, Zhiquan,Wang, Xuemei,Bresch, Jamie,Ban, Junmei,Chen, Dan,Kim, Jhoon Elsevier 2018 Atmospheric environment Vol.179 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this study, Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) AOD and Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) AOD data were assimilated to forecast surface PM2.5 concentrations over Eastern China, by using the three–dimensional variational (3DAVR) data assimilation (DA) system, to compare DA impacts by assimilating AOD retrievals from these two types of satellites. Three experiments were conducted, including a CONTROL without the AOD assimilation, and GOCIDA and VIIRSDA with the assimilation of AOD retrievals from GOCI and VIIRS, respectively. By utilizing the Weather Research and Forecasting with Chemistry (WRF/Chem) model, 48-h forecasts were initialized at each 06 UTC from 19 November to 06 December 2013. These forecasts were evaluated with 248 ground-based measurements from the air quality monitoring network across 67 China cities. The results show that overall the CONTROL underestimated surface PM2.5 concentrations, especially over Jing–Jin–Ji (JJJ) region and Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region. Both the GOCIDA and VIIRSDA produced higher surface PM2.5 concentrations mainly over Eastern China, which fits well with the PM2.5 measurements at these eastern sites, with more than 8% error reductions (ER). Moreover, compared to CONTROL, GOCIDA reduced 14.0% and 6.4% error on JJJ region and YRD region, respectively, while VIIRSDA reduced respectively 2.0% and 13.4% error over the corresponding areas. During the heavy polluted period, VIIRSDA improved all sites within YRD region, and GOCIDA enhanced 84% sites. Meanwhile, GOCIDA improved 84% sites on JJJ region, while VIIRSDA did not affect that region. These geographic distinctions might result from spatial dissimilarity between GOCI AOD and VIIRS AOD at time intervals. Moreover, the larger increment produced by AOD DA under stable meteorological conditions could lead to a longer duration (e.g., 1–2 days, > 2 days) of AOD DA impacts. Even though with AOD DA, surface PM2.5 concentrations were still underestimated clearly over heavy polluted periods. And 3% sites performed worse, where low PM2.5 values were observed and CONTROL performed well. With this study, the results indicate that AOD DA can partially improve the accuracy of PM2.5 forecasts. And the obvious geographic differences on forecasts emphasize the potential and importance of combining AOD retrievals from GOCI and VIIRS into data assimilation.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> AOD retrievals from two types of satellites were assimilated solely. </LI> <LI> Assimilating different AOD produced prominent geographic differences on forecast. </LI> <LI> Larger increment under stable meteorological conditions lead to a longer duration. </LI> <LI> The results emphasize the potential of combining different AOD retrievals. </LI> </UL> </P>

Computer-aided diagnosis system based on multi-scale feature fusion for screening large-scale gastrointestinal diseases

        Pang Xuejiao,Zhao Zijian,Wu Yanbing,Chen Yong,Liu Jin 한국CDE학회 2023 Journal of computational design and engineering Vol.10 No.1

For endoscopists, large-scale screening of gastrointestinal (GI) diseases is arduous and time-consuming. While their workload and human factor-induced errors can be reduced by computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems, the existing ones mainly focus on a limited number of lesions or specific organs, making them unsuitable for diagnosing various GI diseases in large-scale disease screening. This paper proposes a transformer and convolutional neural network-based CAD system (called TransMSF) to assist endoscopists in diagnosing multiple GI diseases. This system constructs two feature extraction paths with different coding methods to obtain the lesions’ global and local information. In addition, downsampling is implemented in transformer to get global information of different scales, further enriching the feature representation and reducing the amount of computation and memory occupation. Moreover, a channel and spatial attention module with fewer parameters was successfully designed to pay more attention to the target and reduce the loss of important information during spatial dimension transformation. Finally, the extracted feature information is fused through the feature fusion module and then input into the linear classifier for disease diagnosis. The proposed system outperformed that of other state-of-the-art models on two datasets, reaching a 98.41% precision, a 98.15% recall, a 98.13% accuracy, and a 98.28% F1 score on the in-house GI dataset versus a 95.88% precision, a 95.88% recall, a 98.97% accuracy, and a 95.88% F1 score on the public Kvasir dataset. Moreover, TransMSF’s performance was superior to that of seasoned endoscopists. The above results prove that the proposed system is instrumental in diagnosing GI diseases in large-scale disease screening. It can also be used as a training tool for junior endoscopists to improve their professional skills by rendering helpful suggestions.

Microstructure and Performance Study of Al/Cu Laser Welding with Ag Interlayer

        Tao Chen,Fei Liu,Lihui Pang,Hao Hu,Ping Gao 한국정밀공학회 2024 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.25 No.1

In the past research, there was a gap in the field of Al/Cu dissimilar metal welding with Ag intermediate layer, and attention to the joint resistivity is insufficient. This paper has used laser welding to study this problem. The mechanical and electrical properties of the joints were tested, and the microstructure and fracture surface of the weld were observed, along with the analysis of their phase composition and formation mechanism. The results show that the Ag–Al–Cu ternary system forms on the weld, and Ag inhibits the formation of IMC in the Al/Cu system, with the main IMCs being Al2Cu and Ag3Al. Part of the Ag-rich and Al-rich phases are dispersed in small particle shape, providing a strengthening effect in various areas. After adjusting the welding parameters, excellent joints can be obtained, with a tensile strength of 98.05 MPa, which is 78.5% of the base metal, and a resistivity of 2.47 μΩ cm. The fracture occurs in the softened zone of the Al-side base metal, indicating a ductile fracture. These findings have demonstrated that good mechanical and electrical properties can be obtained by adding Ag as an intermediate layer of the joint.

      • Protective effect of centaureidin-3,5-O-biglucoside (C3G) on 5-fluorouracil(5-FU)-induced mucositis in BALB/c mice

        Junyang Liu,Zixian Wang,Wanying Li,Zhewen Dong,Chaojie Chong,Yaqi Wu,Shumei Zhong,Haokun Chen,Zhiqiang Liu,Qi Qi Pang,Jia-Le Song 한국식품영양과학회 2021 한국식품영양과학회 학술대회발표집 Vol.2021 No.10

To explore the effect of C3G on intestinal mucosal injury in 5-FU induced BALB/c mice. Mice were randomly divided into normal, model and C3G groups. After the last administration, mice were anesthetized, and calculated the thymus and spleen indexes. The ileum was used to stain with H&E observation. Serum levels of IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-α were determined by ELISA kits. Compared with the normal group, the model group had diarrhea, body weight and thymus and spleen index decreased significantly, intestinal villus epithelial cells fell off, crypt structure was destroyed, and inflammatory cell infiltration was observed. The body weight, thymus and spleen indexes of the treatment group and the prevention group decreased less, and the levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 were significantly decreased, and the level of IL-10 was significantly increased relative to the model group. The intestinal villi structure was relatively complete, and a small amount of crypt structure was destroyed, with a small amount of inflammatory cell infiltration, which reduced the mucosal damage. The administration of C3G could protect intestinal mucosa from 5-FU-induced injury.

      • The 2518 A/G Polymorphism in the MCP-1 Gene and Cancer Risk: A Meta-analysis

        Jia, Liu-Qun,Shen, Yong-Chun,Guo, Shu-Jin,Hu, Qian-Jing,Pang, Cai-Shuang,Wang, Tao,Chen, Lei,Wen, Fu-Qiang Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.6

Background: The 2518 A/G polymorphism in the MCP-1 gene has been extensively studied for association swith cancer; however, results from replication studies have been inconsistent. The aim of this investigation was to determine links with risk of cancer by meta-analysis. Methods: We searched Pubmed, Embase, CNKI, Weipu and Wanfang databases, covering all case-control studies until March, 2013. Statistical analyses were performed using the Revman 5.0 software. Results: A total of 11 case-control studies met our inclusion criteria, including 1,422 cases and 2,237 controls. The results indicated that the MCP-1 2518 gene polymorphism had no association with cancer risk overall (GG vs.GA+ AA: OR = 0.89, 95%CI = 0.61-1.28, P = 0.52). However, in the subgroup analysis by ethnicity, a decrease of cancer risk was found in Asian populations (GG vs.GA+ AA: OR = 0.79, 95%CI = 0.63-0.99, P = 0.04). Conclusion: This meta-analysis suggested that the 2518A/G polymorphism of MCP-1 gene is associated with risk of cancer among Asian, but not in Caucasian populations.

Study on Electro-Spark Deposition Welding of Ultra-thin Sheet of Ti-6.5Al-1Mo-1 V-2Zr Alloy

        Fei Liu,Tao Chen,Lihui Pang,Kuijing Song,Yucheng Wu 한국정밀공학회 2022 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.23 No.10

In this work, butt welding experiment of Ti-6.5Al-1Mo-1 V-2Zr alloy sheet of 0.5 mm thickness was performed via electro-spark deposition method. The results of the experiment indicate that the reactive titanium alloy’s surface is free from oxidation without trailing shielding protection due to low heat input and rapid thermal cycles associated with the process. The fusion zone is mainly composed of equiaxed microstructure of martensite α′ and α dual phases, wherein the amount of α′ in the central joint is higher than that adjacent to the base metal. The maximum tensile strength of the welded joint can reach 1187 MPa, which is 95% of the base metal. Besides, the joint shows obvious plastic deformation before fracture. The findings have demonstrated the possibility of widely applying the welding methodology to thin sheets of titanium alloys.

      • Effect of Antrodia camphorata polysaccharides on letrozole-induced polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) model rats

        Zhiqiang Liu,Chaojie Chong,Zhewen Dong,Yaqi Wu,Wanying Li,Haokun Chen,Shumei Zhong,Junyang Liu,Qi Qi Pang,Jia-Le Song,Yanyuan Zhou 한국식품영양과학회 2021 한국식품영양과학회 학술대회발표집 Vol.2021 No.10

To investigate the effect of ACP on letrozole-induced PCOS rats. All rats were divided into normal groups, PCOS group, metformin group and ACP group. The body weight (BW) was recorded every three days, and the final body weight as well as ovarian weight were recorded. Serum levels of TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C and E2, T, FSH and LH were measured by ELISA assay, and the LH/FSH ratio was calculated. The results showed that ACP decreased the BW and the ratio of ovarian to BW. Compared with the normal group, the serum levels of T, LH, LH/FSH, TG, TC, LDL-C increased, and the levels of FSH, E2, HDL-C decreased in PCOS group. ACP effectively improves the serum levels of FSH, LH/FSH, TG, TC, LDL-C and other related factors. The results of H&E staining of ovarian tissues showed that the ACP group showed different degrees of improvement in the reduced number of corpus luteum, thinning of granulosa cell layer, follicular capsular dilatation and follicular atresia. ACP not only reduces BW and the ratio of ovarian to BW, but also it can elevate the level of FSH and reduce LH/FSH, TG, TC and HDL-C levels. Furthermore, ACP can protect ovarian tissue to some extent.

        Ming Zhao,Chen-Bo Xie,Zhiqing Zhong,Bang-Xin Wang,Zhenzhu Wang,Pang-Da Dai,Zhen Shang,Min Tan,Dong Liu,Yingjian Wang 한국광학회 2015 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.19 No.6

A high spectral resolution lidar (HSRL) system based on injection-seeded Nd:YAG laser and iodineabsorption filter has been developed for the quantitative measurement of aerosol and cloud. The laserfrequency is stabilized at 80 MHz by a frequency locking system and the absorption line of iodine cellis selected at the 1111 line with 2 GHz width. The observations show that the HSRL can provide verticalprofiles of particle extinction coefficient, backscattering coefficient and lidar ratio for cloud and aerosolup to 12 km altitude, simultaneously. For the measured cases, the lidar ratios are 10~20 sr for cloud,28~37 sr for dust, and 58~70 sr for urban pollution aerosol. It reveals the potential of HSRL to distinguishthe type of aerosol and cloud. Time series measurements are given and demonstrate that the HSRL hasability to continuously observe the aerosol and cloud for day and night
