        Experimental investigation was conducted to study the shear capacity of recycled aggregate concrete beams without shear reinforcement. The primer objective of the study was t investigate the suitability of using recycled aggregate concrete beams. In designing the specimens, shear-span/depth ratio and aggregate consideration(washed or non-washed aggregate) were chosen as main parameters. As a result, this study, to know the shear capacity of recycled aggregate concrete beams with the main variables such as shear span ratio and weather the recycled aggregate was washed or not, following conclusions come out. 1.In the 3-point flexural strength examine certain comparison of flexural strength between natural and recycled aggregate concrete wasn't come out, because it is failure specimen with early flexural crack simultaneously. 2.Shear strength of recycled-aggregate concrete beam under shear span ratio a/d=3 was higher than ACI(318-95) Code, but lower over a/d =4. 3.Ultimate shear strength of recycled aggregate concrete beam was higher than ACI(318-95) Code and it was very high on shear span ratio a/d =2.

      • 都市地域住民의 生活體育 意識構造

        This study was aimed to elucidata Taegu citizens' consciousness about Sport for All. 950 subjects responded to the researcher's questionnaires. The results are as follows; 1) 88.8% of whole subjects felt necessity of physical activity in every day life. In view of sex, 91.0% of male and 86.5% of female felt the necessity. 2) 73.4% of the subjects put weight in health improvement and 19.1% of the subjects put weight in strong mental power in relation to the value of physical activity. 3) About the local facilities of physical activity, only 8.3% of the subjects satisfied. A largy majority(65.7%) of the subjects reveated dissatisfaction. 4) Preference orders in relation to the expansion of facilities appeared as follows; tennis court(24.5%), swimming pool(14.4%), badminton court(12.5%), gymnasium(11.4%) and football field(7.0%). 5) 76.1% of the sujbjects thought that physical activity contribute to reduce demoralized life style, but 3.2% of the subjects not thought so. 6) About present participation in physical activity, 31.8% of the subjects answered being participated, but the large majority(68.2%) of the subjects answered not being participated. 7) Subjects' favorite physical activitier are tennis(18.6%), mounteering (12.9%), football(8.9%), golf(8.6%), badminton(8.3%), jogging(8.3%), gymnasics(7.3%) and swimming(7.0%) 8) The places of physical activities are private facilities(33.4%), work place(13.6%), private house(12.6%), school(10.9%) and physical education park(9.3%). 9) 73.9% of the subjects answered that they were participating in physical activity for health improvement. 10) 70.6% of the subjects felt the necessity of coach of Sport for All. 11) In case of not attendance to the physical activity, 70.6% of them answered that the main reason of not attendance was lack of leisure. 12) In case of not attendance, 33.7% of them spared time to TV watching, 28.8% of them to housework and 18.0% of them to sleeping. 13) 13.5% of subjects wanted to participate in swimming, 12.9% to tennis, 11.7% to table tennis, 10.8% to mountaineering, and 10.3% to badminton if circumstances permit.

      • 일정축력 및 반복 횡하중을 받는 철골철근콘크리트 기둥의 내력과 변형성능

        An experimental investigation was conducted to investigate the strength and deformation capacity of Wide Flange Steel Encased Reinforced Concrete(SRC) Columns subjected to constant axial compression and cyclic lateral loading conditions. Six one-third scale specimens were tested, each consisting of a structural steel size encased in reinforced concrete. The parameters studied in the test program included the effects of B/t ratios of encased steel(=13, 18, 23), ratios of axial force(=1/3, 1/6). As a result, capacity prediction based on superimposing the moment-axial-load interaction surfaces of the steel shape and reinforced concrete produced good results; the average of the experimental-to-predicted capacity ratio being equal to 0.99∼1.20. The observed hysteretic behavior of the test specimens indicated that adequated ductility can be achieved and the concrete core must be inhibited to buckling of wide flange.

        Starter 및 멸치액젓 첨가가 김치양념 및 겉절이 김치의 품질에 미치는 영향

        양념에 Leu. mesenteroides, Lac plantarum의 젖산균과 멸치액젓 첨가가 김치 양념의 대장균군 제어, 속성촉진여부 및 관능적 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. Leu. mesenteroides과 젓갈을 첨가한 경우 초기 숙성이 촉진되나 후기 산패는 완만하였으며 Lac. plantarum의 첨가시에는 초기 숙성에는 큰 차이가 없고 후기 산패가 현저하게 진행되었다. 대장균군은 산도 0.80% 이상에서 사멸되었는데 leu. mesenteroides의 경우가 숙성이 촉진되어 보다 신속히 사멸시켰다. 총균수와 젖산균수는 초기에 starter 첨가구는 10^6CFU/mL 정도인데 반해서 starter를 첨가하지 않은 않은 처리구에서 총균수는 10^6CFU/mL , 젖산균수가 10^4CFU/mL 이었고 숙성 후에는 첨가균이 높은 수준을 유지하였다. 하지만 대체적으로 스타터의 첨가가 숙성 및 대장균에 크게 영향을 주지 못하는 경향으로 동일하게 나왔다. 관능적 특성에서는 Leu. mesenteroides 첨가구가 Lac. plantarum의 경우보다 우수하였다. 한편, 시판 겉절이 김치는 산도가 0.09~0.18%, ph 5.46~5.89, 총균수 2.2×10^6~3.1×10^7CFU/mL, 젖산균수는 2.1×10^4~6.6×10^5CFU/mL, 대장균수는 1.8×10^4~7.1×10^5CFU/mL, 염분 1.89%~2.51%으로 스타터 첨가 겉절이에 비해 ph와 염도를 제외한 품질 특성에서 전반적으로 낮은 값을 나타냈다. This study was performed in order to investigate the effect of Leuconostoc mesenteroides, Lactobacillus plantarum and salt fermented anchovy extracts on Kimchi sauce. The sauce was fermented more rapidly by addition of Leu. mesenteroids or salt fermented anchovy extracts on the early fermentation stage than the control, but it was fermented slowly on the late fermentation stage. When L. plantarum was added to the Kimchi on the early fermentation stage, the acidity of Kimchi didn't show a significant difference from the control, but acidity was remarkably increased on the late stage. Coliform group was disappeared when acidity of sauce was higher than 0.8% during fermentation. It was controlled by Leu. mesenteroides but not by L. plantarum. Total count and lactic acid bacterial count of the sauces with starter were 6.30×10^6~1.0×10^7 CFU/mL and 1.04~2.04×10^6 CFU/mL, respectively, but those of the control sauce were 10^6 CFU/mL and 10^4 CFU/mL, respectively. Those count of the sauce with starter were higher than those of the control sauce on the later stage of fermentation. Organoleptic quality of the sauce with Leu. mesenteroides was superior to that with L. plantarum.

      • 강관구속된 철근콘크리트 기둥의 변형성능에 관한 실험연구

        A new method to prevent reinforced concrete columns from brittle failure. The method is called transversely reinforcing method in which only the critical regions are confined in steel tube. The steel tube can change the failure mode of the latter columns from the shear to the flexure. The steel tube also increase the compressive strength, shear strength and deformation capacity of the in-filled concrete. This paper described results of an investigation conducted to study the ductility of high-strength RC rectangular short columns subjected to constant axial and reversed cyclic lateral load. The variables in the test program were the amount of lateral steel, and shear span to depth ratio.

        급속응고된 N-type Bi₂Te_(2.75)Se_(0.15) 열전재료의 미세조직과 열전특성에 미치는 압출비의 영향

        The n-Type thermoelectric compounds of Bi₂Te_(2.75)Se_(0.15) doped with 0.1 wt% SbI₃ were fabricated by gas atomization process and extruded under ratio of 16:1 and 28:1 at 450℃. The effect of extrusion ratio on the microstructures and thermoelectric properties were investigated by a combination of microscopy, XRD and thermoelectric properties. Grains of extruded bars are smaller than those of heated powder at extrusion temperature (450℃) due to the dynamic recrystallization but with increasing the amount of plastic deformation, grains of specimen extruded with 28:1 were slightly coarse. The compressive strength of hot extruded bar under 28:1 is 160 MPa and with decreasing the extrusion ratio to 16:1, the value is 250 MPa. The Seebeck coefficient a and electrical resistivity p were decreased with increasing ratio, while thermal conductivity x was increased. this results from decrease of carrier scattering and increase of carrier mobility. Extruded bar under ratio of 16:1 shows the higher value of figure of merit (Z=2.50x10^(-3)/K) than that of 28:1 (Z=2.07x10^(-3)/K). (Received June 24, 2004)

      • 社會體育振興을 위한 國民意識 再考方案

        The purpose of this paper is to investigate and analyze the nation's consciousness about the social physical education by regional groups(big cityes, middle cityes, farm village, fishing villge). And the researchers are to find a way to populize this movement. These subjects for this investigation were chosen at random among the citizens in four region. 4,450 sheets of questionnaire were given to the citizen. And 3,587(81%) sheets of them were received from male(2,582) and female(975) citizens. The results of this investigation are as follows: 1. The nation's consciousness has not been still modernized and the nation tend to depend on their doctors rather than on the new active leisure sports, which is a passive and conventional way, to keep their health. 2. Most people have spent their leisures on nonactive hobby such as reading, listening to music, and watching TV rather than sports. 3. Most residents pointed out lack of facilities, and needed professional directors and various programs they could participate. 4. The opening of citizen athletic field and the gymnasiums to citizens was needed to recruit the lack of facility, and the participation to commercial sport ws differed by economical status and leisure time, however, they usually participated such activities as table-tennis, swimning and tennis. 5. To activate social physical education, first of all, an expansion of the facilities such as athletic fields and gymnasium is needed under the active support of government. 6. The facilities for young men and the handicapped is insufficient, and to prevent juvenile delinquency and guide them into the right way, we should lead them out to participate sports activity. And the facility for the handicapped is needed too.

        Novel Semiconducting Polymer Particles by Supercritical Fluid Process

        <P>Summary: A simple method to prepare surfactant-free and solvent-free semiconducting polymer particles by using an environmentally benign supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO<SUB>2</SUB>) process is reported. The process of the rapid expansion of supercritical solutions (RESS) is used to produce spherical particles of poly[2-(3-thienyl)acetyl 3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-tridecafluorooctanoate] (PSFTE), 50–500 nm in size, from 0.1–0.5 wt.-% PSFTE solutions in CO<SUB>2</SUB> at pre-expansion temperatures of 40 °C and pre-expansion pressures of 276 bar.</P><P> <img src='wiley_img/10221336-2005-26-22-MARC200500438-gra001.gif' alt='wiley_img/10221336-2005-26-22-MARC200500438-gra001'> Graphic An FESEM image of PSFTE particles produced by the RESS process with CO<SUB>2</SUB>. </P>
