충주 지역에서 10년간 급성심근경색의 임상관찰에 대한 연구

Background: The current treatments of acute myocardial infarct(AMI) Include noninvasive method using thrombolytics and invasive methods such as primary percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty(PTCA) and coronary artery bypass graft(CABG)surgery. Although there are many studies comparing the effectiveness of noninvasive and invasive methods, when large clinical centers, 20% of totar hospitals, were excluded, most middle-sized hospitals lacked personnels and facilities for the invasive methods. Thus they opted for the noninvasive methods. Therefore, in this study, the clinical characteristics of AMI patients and the results of thrombolytic & conservative treatment were observed. Method: 137 patients with acute myocardial infarct, who visited KonKuk University Medical Center, ChoongJu Hospital during Sept. 1990 to Sept. 1999 were analysed retrospectively using medical records. Result: The sexual compositions of patients were 63.5% male, and 36.5% female. The mean age for male patients were 56±12.9, and for female patients 68.7±9.6 (p<0.05). The mean age for female patients was significantly older than male patients. The patients in the thrombolytic treatment group had mortality rate of 6.25% which is lower than that of the conservative treatment group at 12% (p>0.05). Conclusion: Although in our study, small number of acute myocardial infarct patients caused the statistical insignificance, rapid revascularization by thrombolytic therapy within 6 hours of onset of symptoms improved mortality rate and early ambulation. And we had good results on AMI with thrombolytic agent in ChungJu including near rural area as primary emergency hospital. Therefore a prospective research with greater number of subjects is needed to develop better treatments for AMI.

This study was carried out to identify the phylogenetic relationship among several caterpillar fungi by comparing the sequences of internal transcribed spacer regions (ITS1 and ITS2) and 5.8S ribosomal DNA(rDNA) repeat unit. The sequences of ITS1 , ITS2, and the 5.8S rDNA for 10 strains of Cordyceps species and 12 strains of Paecilomyces were amplified, sequenced and compared with the previously known Cordyceps species. The sequences of 5.85 rDNA were more conserved in length and variation than those of ITS regions. Although the variable ITS sequences were often ambiguously aligned, and the conserved sites were also found. In the phylogenetic tree, the species generally divided into five clusters, which distinguished by their morphology and/or host ranges. The 5.8S rDNA and ITS1 sequences among the 10 species of C. militaris were identical and only one base pair in ITS2 sequences was different. The GenBank database search of C. militaris, C. sinensis and C. capitata revealed sister taxa of the most Cordyceps species. Also, the C. capitata and C. ophioglossoides were clearly different, but these two species lelonged to the same cluster. C. sinensis formed out-group in all taxa investigated.

In the present paper, we theoretically analyze the flow of magnetic fluids in a circular pipe with a vertical magnetic field and investigate the magnetic response by the external magnetic field. Theoretical study through the governing equation derived by Siliomis is carried out with numerical analysis by the Gauss Elimination Method. Using polar and magnetic effect parameters, theoretical equations and distributions for the velocity, apparent viscosity as the magnetic response are shown. Especially, in the region of strong magnetic field the specific property is appeared by finding a critical magnetic effect parameter for a polar effect parameter.

this paper proposes an improved synchronization control scheme of a low cost 400㎐ power supply for No-Break Power Transfer. In the case of Aircraft application, the 400㎐ power supply called as ground power units (GPU) has been accepted as external electrical power system during stopovers in ground. When transferring from one power source to the other, there is a momentary break in supply. To transfer without a break, the two power sources are momentarily connected in parallel. The proposed synchronization control is achieved by connecting an existing synchronization bus to a voltage zero-crossing signal of a generator power with discrete logic ICs and analog circuits. Therefore, this proposed control scheme is rather simple and the cost may be decreased, compared with expensive controller such as DSP and CAN. The practical feasibility of the proposed control scheme is proved by simulation.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been suggested as a primary candidate for cell therapy applications because they have self-renewal and differentiation capabilities. Although they can be expanded in ex vivo system, clinical application of these cells is still limited because they survive poorly and undergo senescence or apoptosis when transplanted and exposed to environmental factors such as oxidative stress. Thus, reducing oxidative stress is expected to improve the efficacy of MSC therapy. The milk protein lactoferrin is a multifunctional ironbinding glycoprotein that plays various roles, including reduction of oxidative stress. Thus, we explored the effect of lactoferrin on oxidative stress-induced senescence and apoptosis of human MSCs (hMSCs). Measurement of reactive oxygen species (ROS) revealed that lactoferrin inhibited the production of hydrogen peroxide-induced intracellular ROS, suggesting lactoferrin as a good candidate as an antioxidant in hMSCs. Pretreatment of lactoferrin suppressed hydrogen peroxide-induced senescence of hMSCs. In addition, lactoferrin reduced hydrogen peroxide-induced apoptosis via inhibition of caspase-3 and Akt activation. These results demonstrate that lactoferrin can be a promising factor to protect hMSCs from oxidative stress-induced senescence and apoptosis, thus increasing the efficacy of MSC therapy.

The increases in costs of fuel and power generation are causing a growing interest in the unused waste heat generated by power plants and industries, and the market for using the waste heat is also expected to grow at an annual rate of 6.74% from 2017 to 2021 in the world. However, the existing technologies for recovery and utilization of the waste heat at low temperature below 300℃ are limited due to economic feasibility and lack of demands, and the waste heat is mostly disposed. In South Korea, the waste heat recovery and usage rate for industrial waste disposal companies are about 38% of the total heat generation. As the alternative technologies to use the middle and low temperature heat, organic Rankine cycle power generation and heat storage system based on phase change material (PCM) or thermochemical storage are gaining attention. Heat delivery technology based on the heat storage using PCM is being developed and applied mostly in the United States, Germany and Japan, however has yet to be used in Korea. In this study, 1 GJ scale thermal energy storage (TES) system was developed using organic PCM. As the phase change temperature of the selected PCM is 68℃, steam was used as a heat transfer fluid (HTF) for heat charging process, and supplied at a constant pressure in a range of 1~3 bar. On the other hand, heat discharging process was conducted using two cooling fans. One of the fans supplies ambient air to TES device for heat transfer from PCM to air. The other one supplies ambient air to outlet of the TES device, where the hot air was mixed with fresh air in order to keep the temperature of mixed air constantly. Thermochemical characteristics of heat charging and discharging of the PCM such as temperature distribution of the PCM, totally charged and discharged thermal energy and heat transfer time and overall thermal efficiency are investigated. Finally, heat of 1.0~1.2 GJ can be charged in 1.5 hours.
