李廷玟,任洪彬,劉承坤,裵基瑞 충남대학교 공업교육연구소 1978 論文集 Vol.1 No.2
This study has been investigated on the effects of fluorochemical repellent agent on the water repellent finishes of nylon 6 fibre with pentadecafluorooctyl polyacrylate. Contact angles of various liquids on the fluorochemical treated nylon 6 surface are measured. The critical surface tension of about 46 dynes per cm on the nylon 6 surface is resulted. The effect of fluorochemical repellent was most favourable at 1% concentration repellent agent and the critical surface tension is resulted the value of about 10.5 dynes per cm. The use of antistatic agent in the fluorochemical repellent was most favourable below 0.5% concentration. It was found that the repellent effects were improved by repeated treatments with the solution of lower concentration of repellent.
The Deubiquitinating Enzymes UBP12 and UBP13 Positively Regulate MYC2 Levels in Jasmonate Responses
Jeong, Jin Seo,Jung, Choonkyun,Seo, Jun Sung,Kim, Ju-Kon,Chua, Nam-Hai American Society of Plant Biologists 2017 The Plant cell Vol.29 No.6

The transcription factor MYC2 has emerged as a master regulator of jasmonate (JA)-mediated responses as well as crosstalk among different signaling pathways. The instability of MYC2 is in part due to the action of PUB10 E3 ligase, which can polyubiquitinate this protein. Here, we show that polyubiquitinated MYC2 can be deubiquitinated by UBP12 and UBP13 in vitro, suggesting that the two deubiquitinating enzymes can counteract the effect of PUB10 in vivo. Consistent with this view, UBP12 and UBP13 associate with MYC2 in the nucleus. Transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana plants deficient in UBP12 and UBP13 show accelerated decay of MYC2 and are hyposensitive to JA, whereas plants overexpressing UBP12 or UBP13 have prolonged MYC2 half-life and are hypersensitive to JA. Our results suggest that there is a genetic link between UBP12, UBP13, and MYC2. Our results identify UBP12 and UBP13 as additional positive regulators of JA responses and suggest that these enzymes likely act by stabilizing MYC2.

Seo, Jeong Kyun,Kim, Su Hyun,Lee, Sang Hyub,Park, Joo Kyung,Woo, Sang Myung,Jeong, Ji Bong,Hwang, Jin-Hyeok,Ryu, Ji Kon,Kim, Jin-Wook,Jeong, Sook-Hyang,Kim, Yong-Tae,Yoon, Yong Bum,Lee, Kuhn Uk,Kim, S Lippincott Williams Wilkins, Inc. 2010 European journal of gastroenterology & hepatology Vol.22 No.8
BACKGROUND: Biliary cystadenoma (BCA) and biliary cystadenocarcinoma (BCAC) are often confused with other intrahepatic cystic diseases. AIMS: The aims of this study were to investigate predictive factors of biliary cystic tumor (BCT) and clinical characteristic of BCAC. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed preoperative diagnoses, overall characteristics and postoperative outcome of 20 BCTs and 19 cystadenoma-mimicking simple cysts that were pathologically confirmed. RESULTS: Comparing with atypical simple cysts, symptoms, left-lobe cyst, thick wall, septation, mural nodule, bile duct dilatation and an increase of serum alkaline phosphatase were associated with BCTs. However, on multivariate analysis, mural nodule, left-lobe cyst, and an increase of serum alkaline phosphatase were significantly frequent in BCTs with odds ratios of 75.5, 13.8, and 33.0, respectively. Among the 20 BCTs, seven BCACs were diagnosed. The characteristics of BCACs were mural nodule (P<0.01), intrahepatic cyst debris (P<0.01), and bile duct dilation (P=0.04). Cystic fluid analysis provided no significant differences between BCT and simple cyst. After fine needle aspiration cytology of BCTs, all except one BCAC with atypical cell showed nonspecific findings. After complete surgical excision (97.4% of patients), only one patient with BCAC had recurrence during 29 months of follow-up period. CONCLUSION: In hepatic cysts with mural nodule, left-lobe cyst or increment of serum alkaline phosphatase seem to be indicative of BCTs in the diagnosis of suspicious hepatic cyst. Intracystic debris, bile duct dilation, and mural nodule may be suggestive clinical features of malignancy in BCTs.

서정평(Jeong Pyeong Seo),조인종(In Jong Cho),류문희(Mun Hee Rheu),박종수(Jong Soo Park),이명곤(Myung Kon Lee),정명호(Myung Ho Jeong),조정관(Jeong Gwan Cho),박종춘(Jong Chun Park),강정채(Jung Chaee Kang) 대한내과학회 1997 대한내과학회지 Vol.52 No.3
N/A Objectives: The treadmill exercise eletrocardiography(ECG) is the most commonly used non- invasive method in the evaluation of patients with chest pain. But the accuracy of treadmill exercise ECG in detecting the coronary artery disease(CAD) is still controversial. To improve the accuracy of the treadmill exercise test, exercise treadmill score(ETS) based on exercise duration, degree of ST deviation, and treadmill anginal index during treadmill exercise ECG has been used. Methods: The authors calculated ETS by simple equation(total exercise duration-5×maximal ST- segment deviation during or after exercise-4×treadmill angina index) and analyzed coronary angiograms of 173 patients(mean age '55.5±8.7, male: female=2.7: 1) who underwent treadmill exercise ECG and coronary angiography in Chonnam University Hospital from January, 1990 through March, 1993. Results. 1) The studied subjects were subdivided into 3groups according to ETS. Group A(high risk, ETS≤11) were composed of 15cases(mean age 60.2±7.4, male: female = 1.2: 1), group B(moderate risk, 5>ETS≥11) 71cases(mean age 60.2±7.4, male: female=3.3:1), group C(low risk, ETS>5) 87cases(mean age 54.8±9.2, male-female =2.5:1). Clinical diagnoses of the studiedsubjects were 63stable angina, 61unstable angina, 3acute myocardial infarction, and 46 old myocardial infarction. On coronary angiographic findings, 61patients had single vessel disesase, 23patients had two vessel disease and 13patients had three vessel disease. 2) The sensitivity of the treadmill exercise ECG in diagnosing coronary artery disease was 88% and the specificity was 46%. 3) One hundred percent of group A patients had CAD and 54% of them had multivessel disease, 75% of group B had CAD and 27% of them had multivessel disease, and 33% of group C had CAD and 10% of them had multivessel disease. 4) There were no significant differences in the siite of stenotic lesion and degree of stenosis according to ETS in the patients with single vessel disease. 5) There were no significant differences in left ventricular ejection fraction and left ventricular end-diastolic pressure among three groups. Conclusion: Exercise treadmill score is useful in predicting the presence and severity of CAD and that low ETS less than -11 may be an indicator of multivessel coronary disease.

Purpose: This study investigated predictors of unresponsiveness to second-line intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) treatment for Kawasaki disease (KD). Methods: This was a single-center analysis of the medical records of 588 patients with KD who had been admitted to Asan Medical Center between 2006 and 2014. Related clinical and laboratory data were analyzed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. Results: Eighty (13.6%) of the 588 patients with KD were unresponsive to the initial IVIG treatment and received a second dose. For these 80 patients, univariate analysis of the laboratory results obtained before administering the second-line IVIG treatment showed that white blood cell count, neutrophil percent, hemoglobin level, platelet count, serum protein level, albumin level, potassium level, and C-reactive protein level were significant predictors. The addition of methyl prednisolone to the second-line regimen was not associated with treatment response (odds ratio [OR], 0.871; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.216-3.512; P=0.846). Multivariate analysis revealed serum protein level to be the only predictor of unresponsiveness to the second-line treatment (OR, 0.160; 95% CI, 0.028-0.911; P=0.039). Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis to determine predictors of unresponsiveness to the second dose of IVIG showed a sensitivity of 100% and specificity of 72% at a serum protein cutoff level of <7.15 g/dL. Conclusion: The serum protein level of the patient prior to the second dose of IVIG is a significant predictor of unresponsiveness. The addition of methyl prednisolone to the second-line regimen produces no treatment benefit.
Regulation and Inactivation of Brain Phosphocholine-Phosphatase Activity
Seo, Seong Kon,Liu, Xi-Wen,Lee, Hyun Jeong,Kim, Hye Kyeong,Kim, Mee Ree,Sok, Dai-Eun 충남대학교 약학대학 의약품개발연구소 1999 藥學論文集 Vol.15 No.-
Regulation of phosphocholine-hydrolyzing phosphatase (phosphocholine-phosphatase) activity, purified from bovine brain, was examined under physiological conditions. Various endogenous phosphomonoesters, which were utilized as substrate, inhibited the phosphocholine-phosphatase activity competitively (Ki, 5.5-82.0μM); among phosphomonoesters tested, there was a similar order of capability between the binding affinity of substrate and the inhibitory potency. In addition, phosphate ions also inhibited the phosphatase activity competitively with a Ki value of approximately 167μM. Although leucine or theophylline inhibited the phosphatase activity at pH 9.0, their inhibitory action decreased greatly at pH 7.4. The pH-Km and pH-Vm profiles indicate that ionizable amino acids are involved in substrate binding as well as catalysis, alluding that the phosphatase activity may be highly dependent on the intracellular pH. Amino acid modification study supports the existence of tyrosine, arginine or lysine residue in the active site, and the participation of tyrosine residue in the catalytic action may be suggested positively from the susceptibility to the action of tetranitromethane or HOI-generator. Separately, the oxidative inactivation of phosphocholine-phosphatase activity was investigated. Of oxidants tested, HOONO, HOCI, HOI and ascorbate/Cu^2+ system were effective to inactivate the phosphatase activity. Noteworthy, a remarkable inactivation was accomplished by 30μM HOCI in combination with 1mM KI. In addition, Cu^2+(3μM) in combination with ascorbate at concentrations as low as 0.1-0.3mM reduced the phosphatase activity to a great extent. From these results, it is proposed that the phosphochocholine-phosphatase activity may be regulated endogenously and susceptible to the various oxidant system in vivo.

Summary

Jasmonates play important roles in development, stress responses and defense in plants. Here, we report the results of a study using a functional genomics approach that identified a rice basic helix‐loop‐helix domain gene, OsbHLH148, that conferred drought tolerance as a component of the jasmonate signaling module in rice. OsbHLH148 transcript levels were rapidly increased by treatment with methyl jasmonate (MeJA) or abscisic acid, and abiotic stresses including dehydration, high salinity, low temperature and wounding. Transgenic over‐expression of OsbHLH148 in rice confers plant tolerance to drought stress. Expression profiling followed by DNA microarray and RNA gel‐blot analyses of transgenic versus wild‐type rice identified genes that are up‐regulated by OsbHLH148 over‐expression. These include OsDREB and OsJAZ genes that are involved in stress responses and the jasmonate signaling pathway, respectively. OsJAZ1, a rice ZIM domain protein, interacted with OsbHLH148 in yeast two‐hybrid and pull‐down assays, but it interacted with the putative OsCOI1 only in the presence of coronatine. Furthermore, the OsJAZ1 protein was degraded by rice and Arabidopsis extracts in the presence of coronatine, and its degradation was inhibited by MG132, a 26S proteasome inhibitor, suggesting 26S proteasome‐mediated degradation of OsJAZ1 via the SCFOsCOI1 complex. The transcription level of OsJAZ1 increased upon exposure of rice to MeJA. These results show that OsJAZ1 could act as a transcriptional regulator of the OsbHLH148‐related jasmonate signaling pathway leading to drought tolerance. Thus, our study suggests that OsbHLH148 acts on an initial response of jasmonate‐regulated gene expression toward drought tolerance, constituting the OsbHLH148–OsJAZ–OsCOI1 signaling module in rice.
