L-THIA/NPS to Assess the Impacts of Urbanization on Estimated Runoff and NPS Pollution

The land use changes from non-urban areas to urban areas lead to the increased impervious areas, consequently increased direct runoff and higher peak runoff. Urban areas have also been recognized as significant sources of Nonpoint Source (NPS) pollution, while agricultural activities have been known as the primary sources of NPS pollution. Many features of the L-THIA/NPS GIS, L-THIA/NPS WWW system have been enhanced to provide easy-to-use system. The L-THIA model was applied to the Little Eagle Creek (LEC) watershed in Indiana to evaluate the accuracy of the model. The L-THIA/NPS GIS estimated yearly direct runoff values match the direct runoff separated from U.S. Geological Survey stream flow data reasonably. The R2 and Nash-Sutcliffe values are 0.67 and 0.60, respectively. The L-THIA estimated runoff volume and total nitrogen loading for each land use classification in the LEC watershed were computed. The estimated runoff volume and total nitrogen loading in the LEC watershed increased by 180% and 270% for the 20 years. Urbanized areas - "Commercial", "High Density Residential", and "Low Density Residential" of the LEC watershed made up around 68% of the 1991 total land areas, however contributed more than 92% of average annual runoff and 86% of total nitrogen loading. Therefore, it is essential to consider the impacts of land use change on hydrology and water quality in land use planning of urbanizing watershed.

Recently, the trends of industrial products grow more miniaturization, variety and mass production. Micro drilling which take high precision in cutting work is requested more micro hole and high speed working. Especially, Micro deep hole drilling is becoming more important in a wide spectrum of precision production industries, ranging from the production of automotive fuel injection nozzle, watch and camera parts, medical needles, and thick multi-layered Printed Circuit Boards(PCB) that are demanded for very high density electric circuitry. This paper shows the tool monitoring results of micro drill with tool dynamometer. And additionally, microscope with built-in monitor inspection show the relationship between burr in work piece and chip form of micro drill machining.
Study on Developing a Flight Data Visualization

This paper aims to describe the framework of 2D and 3D interface and discuss the design and implementation ideas for a flight data visualization system. A new software package will be developed to allow users and developers easily customize and meet special requirements while keeping it as simple as possible. Previous implementation for some of the ideas will be used as sample and difficulties and improvements will be discussed.

본 연구에서는 비행 데이터의 실시간 가시화 시스템 개발을 위한 소프트웨어 설계 및 2차원과 3차원간의 인터페이스 설계 안을 사례와 중심으로 제시한다. 제시하는 소프트웨어는 비행체의 운동성등을 관찰하고 분석하기 위한 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어로 실시간으로 사용자가 원하는 정보를 도시할 수 있도록 설계 된 것이 큰 특징이며, 손쉽게 사용자의 요구를 적용할 수 있도록 유연성을 높게 모듈화 하였다.

본 논문은 보급형 태권도 전자호구시스템 개발을 위한 시스템 설계 및 시제품에 대한 검증결과를 제시한다. 기존 전자호구시스템은 엘리트선수들의 시합용으로 개발되어 일반 태권도 도장에서 사용하기에 적절하지 않았다. 또한 일반인들이 구매하기에는 부담스러운 가격이며, 사용하기에는 과도한 기능들도 있다. 태권도는 대한민국의 국기이며, 세계인의 사랑을 받고 있는 대중 지향형 스포츠 종목이기에 범용 전자 호구개발은 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 범용으로 사용할 수 있는 보급형 태권도 몸통 전자 호구 시스템과, 개발된 시제품에 대한 사용자 만족도 검증 결과를 제시하고자 한다. This study presents the verification results for the system design and prototypes for the development of a cost-effective taekwondo electronic hogu system. Electronic hogu systems in the past were developed for matches of elite athletes, so they are not suitable for use in general taekwondo studios. The cost is too high for general consumers and there are too many functions for use by general practitioners. Taekwondo is a national sport of Korea and is popular all around the world. Therefore, it is necessary to develop streamlined electronic hogu in order to spread taekwondo further and create new markets by allowing the general public to also use electronic hogu. This study suggests a low-cost taekwondo electronic hogu system for the torso that can be used by the general public, and presents user satisfaction verification results on the developed prototype.
