생약재 첨가 사료를 투여한 넙치(Paralichthys olivaceus)의 비특이적 면역반응, 혈액성분 및 항병력 효과
정승희,이주석,한형균,전창영,이해영 한국어병학회 2002 한국어병학회지 Vol.15 No.1
Effects of medicinal herb extract on nonspecific immune responses, hematology and disease resistance against Edwardsiella tarda in olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus were evaluated. Wormwood, Artemisia asiatica NAKAI and barrenwort, Epimedium koreanum NAKAI were mixed at a ratio of 7 : 3 (w/w) for 2-herbs extract and wormwood, barrenwort, Korean forsythia, Forsythia koreana NAKAI, chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum zawadskii var. latilobum KITAMURA, peppermint, Mentha arvensis L. var, piperascens MALINV., great burnet, Snaguisorba afficinalis L., Lizard tail. Saururus chinensis BAILL., mulberry, Morus alba L., and star anise, Illicium varum HOOK, f, at the same weight for 9-herbs extract. Two-herbs of 9-herbs extract were prepared by heating after adding 10㎖ of distilled water per g of the herb mixtures. Fish (10.3±2.5g) were fed the experimental diets supplemented with the 2-herbs or 9-herbs extract at the different concentrations of 0%, 0.1%, 0.5% and 1% per kg diet for 12 weeks. Lysozyme and bactericidal activities of serum, and hematological characteristics were examined during experimental period. After feeding test period, all experimental groups were challenged with E. tarda. Lysozyme activity from the fish fed the diet supplemented with 0.1% or 0.5% of 2-herbs extract was significantly higher than the control. But there was no difference both in bactericidal activity and hematology among each group. Sixty seven % of relative percent survival values (RPS) in the group fed the diet supplemented with 0.1% of 2-herbs was higher than the other group and the control. These results suggest that supplenmentation of 0.1% of 2-herbs extract to a commercial diet may enhance disease resistance in olive flounder. Although both 0.1% and 0.5% 9-herbs extract did not improve non-specific immune reponses, they could enhance disease resistance of 53% RPS, respectively.
Combined Approach for Intra-articular Distal Radius Fracture: A Case Series and Literature Review
Hyoung-Seok Jung,Hyung-Chul Cho,이재성 대한정형외과학회 2021 Clinics in Orthopedic Surgery Vol.13 No.4
Background: The purpose of this study was to classify the possible indications for a combined approach to distal radius fractures (DRFs) by investigating surgical outcomes of patients treated according to our treatment algorithm. Methods: A combined approach was performed in 32 patients. Patients who were thought to need a combined approach were classified into three types according to the combined injuries associated with loss of volar cortical buttresses in DRFs. The classifications included the following: type 1, free intra-articular fragments; type 2, distally migrated dorsal fragments located beyond the wrist joint; and type 3, centrally impacted articular fragments and displaced dorsal fragments, not reduced by indirect methods. Results: Seven patients had type 1 fractures treated with volar plates and excision of the intra-articular fragments. Fourteen patients had type 2 fractures: 12 were treated with volar plates and excision of dorsal fragments, and 2 with relatively large unstable dorsal fragments were treated with combined volar and dorsal plates. The remaining 11 patients had type 3 fractures treated with combined volar and dorsal plates. At the latest follow-up, the radiographs revealed an average of 16.9° of radial inclination, an average of 4.2° of volar tilt, and an average of 7.5 mm of radial height. According to the Garland and Werley scores, the functional results were excellent for 3 patients, good for 25, and fair for 4. Conclusions: The classification system indicated when an additional dorsal approach was needed in unstable DRFs, and it may establish useful guidelines for appropriate surgical decision-making.

A new barley (Hordeum Vulgare L.) cultivar ‘Wooho’ was developed by Honam National Agricultural Research Institute (HARI) in 2005. It had good forage characteristics (smooth awn) and showed high forage production in the 5 locations of paddy field. ‘Wooho’ was developed from the cross between SB87125〔Oweol//(SB77011)/SB79124 (Bengei//Hagane/ Bunong) ///Y7213-SD607-CM67-Milyang12〕and SB83024 (1012.2-IB65/Ol//Samheung/Suwon18-Gang) made in 1994. Subsequent selections were made throuhg bulked and pedigree selection methods. SB94104-B-B-B-B-79 was selected for smooth awn and agronomic performance in 2001 and placed in preliminary yield trial. In 2003, it was designated as ‘Suwon 396’ and performed regional yield trials. The average forage yield of ‘Wooho’ were 11.0 MT/ha and 10.9 MT/ha at May 20 and drought stage, respectively. The shattering rate of ‘Wooho’ was lower than that of ‘Ol’. It showed superior forage quality to the check variety when harvest early drought stage. ‘Wooho’ would be recommended as a cultivar of barley for whole crop forage with smooth awn.

Thc climate change has the potential to significantly modify the actual distribution of insect pest with unknown consequences on agricultural systems and management strategies. In this study, Thrips palmi Karny was selected to predict distribution under climate change. T. palmi was introduced and first recorded in 1993 in Korea, and has become a serious pest of vegetable and ornamental crops. The MaxEnt was applied to T. palmi to predict its potential geographic distribution in Korea and Japan under the RCP 8.5 climate changing scenario. The MaxEnt software package is one of the most popular tools for species distribution and environmental niche modeling. The habitat prediction model of T. palmi in Korea was validated by the distribution of T. palmi in Japan. Based on the MaxEnt modeling, T. palmi would expand their potential distribution to whole Korean peninsula except the alpine region in Gangwon-do and Yanggang-do and Hamgyeongbuk-do in 2070s. Therefore, the monitoring system and management strategy for T. palmi should be reconsidered and re-evaluated.
