      • Exposure to Tobacco Advertising and Promotion among School Children Aged 13-15 in Vietnam - an Overview from GYTS 2014

Tran, Khanh Long,Phung, Xuan Son,Kim, Bao Giang,Phan, Thi Hai,Doan, Thi Thu Huyen,Luong, Ngoc Khue,Pham, Thi Quynh Nga,Nguyen, Tuan Lam,Hoang, Van Minh,Le, Thi Thanh Huong Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.no.sup1

Evidence shows that tobacco advertising and promotion activities may increase tobacco consumption and usage, especially in youth. Despite the regulation on prohibiting advertisement of any tobacco product, tobacco advertisement and promotion activities are still common in Vietnam. This article presents current exposure to tobacco advertising and promotion (TAP) among school children aged 13 to 15 years in Vietnam in 2014 and potential influencing factors. Data from the Global Youth Tobacco Survey 2014 in Vietnam covering 3,430 school aged children were used. Both descriptive and analytical statistics were carried out with Stata 13 statistical software. Binary logistic regression was applied to explain the exposure to TAP among youth and examine relationships with individual factors. A significance level of p<0.05 and sampling weights were used in all of the computations. In the past 30 days, 48.6% of the students experienced exposure to at least 1 type of tobacco advertising or promotion. Wearing or otherwise using products related to tobacco was the most exposure TAP type reported by students (22.3%). The internet (22.1), points of sales (19.2) and social events (11.5) were three places that students aged 13-15 frequently were exposed to TAP. Binary logistic results showed that gender (female vs male) (OR = 0.61, 95%CI: 0.52 - 0.71), susceptibility to smoking (OR = 2.12, 95%CI: 1.53 - 2.92), closest friends' smoked (OR = 1.43, 95%CI: 1.2 - 1.7) and parents smoking status (OR = 2.83, 95%CI: 1.6 - 5.01) were significantly associated with TAP exposure among school-aged children. The research findings should contribute to effective implementation of measures for preventing and controlling tobacco use among students aged 13-15 in Viet Nam.

      • <i>Paracoccus</i> <i>panacisoli</i> sp. nov., isolated from a forest soil cultivated with Vietnamese ginseng

        Nguyen, Ngoc-Lan,Kim, Yeon-Ju,Hoang, Van-An,Tran, Bao-Tram,Pham, Huong-Son,Yang, Deok-Chun International Union of Microbiological Societies 2015 International journal of systematic and evolutiona Vol.65 No.5

<P>A novel bacterial strain, designated DCY94T, was isolated from forest soil cultivated with ginseng in Vietnam. The strain was Gram-reaction-negative, facultatively anaerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped and catalase- and oxidase-positive. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis demonstrated that strain DCY94T was closely related to <I>Paracoccus sphaerophysae</I> Zy-3T (97.5 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity) and <I>Paracoccus caeni</I> MJ17T (96.9 %). The fatty acid profile of strain DCY94T contained a predominant amount of summed feature 8 (C18 : 1ω7<I>c</I> and/or C18 : 1ω6<I>c</I>; 88.4 %) and moderate to small quantities of C8 : 0 3-OH (1.0 %), C10 : 0 3-OH (2.8 %) and C18 : 0 (5.2 %). Phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylcholine and one unidentified glycolipid were major polar lipids; one unidentified aminolipid, one unidentified aminophospholipid, one unidentified phospholipid and four unidentified polar lipids were minor components. The polyamine pattern comprised the major compounds putrescine and spermidine and minor amounts of <I>sym</I>-homospermidine and spermine. The ubiquinone of the strain was Q-10 and the G+C content of its genomic DNA was 68.3 mol%. All these results support the placement of strain DCY94T within the genus <I>Paracoccus</I> . Levels of DNA–DNA relatedness between strain DCY94T and <I>P. sphaerophysae</I> HAMBI 3106T and <I>P. caeni</I> KCTC 22480T were 52 and 50 %, respectively. The results of phylogenetic analysis, phenotypic tests, chemotaxonomic characterization and DNA–DNA relatedness studies distinguished strain DCY94T from the closest recognized species of the genus <I>Paracoccus</I> , suggesting that this strain represents a novel species, for which the name <I>Paracoccus panacisoli</I> sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is DCY94T ( = KCTC 42086T = JCM 30337T).</P>

Nearest L-Neighbor Method with De-crossing in Vehicle Routing Problem

        김환성,Hoang-Son Tran-Ngoc 한국항해항만학회 2009 한국항해항만학회지 Vol.33 No.2

The field of vehicle routing is currently growing rapidly because of many actual applications in truckload and less than truckload trucking, courier services, door to door services, and many other problems that generally hinder the optimization of transportation costs in a logistics network. The rapidly increasing number of customers in such a network has caused problems such as difficulty in cost optimization in terms of getting a global optimum solution in an acceptable time. Fast algorithms are needed to find sufficient solutions in a limited time that can be used for real-time scheduling. In this paper, the nearest L-method (NLNM) is proposed to obtain a vehicle routing solution. String neighbors of different lengths were chosen, tested and compared. The applied de-crossing procedure is meant to solve the routes by NLNM by giving a better solution and shorter computation time than that of NLNM with long string neighbors. • Modeling Vehicle Routing Problem with Pair Pickup-Delivery Operations

        Hwan-Seong Kim,Hoang-Son Tran-Ngoc 한국항해항만학회 2009 한국항해항만학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2009 No.공동학술

The problem of vehicle routing problem (VRP) with pair operations of pick up and delivery are well-known in real applications in logistics networks, as in planning the routes for automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) in an automatic container terminal (ACT), warehouses or in some just-in-time services. This paper will present a formulation to modeling the problem mathematically which can be used to generate optimal routes of carried vehicles in the field to reduce the incurred cost of moving goods. This selected model could be used in (semi-)automatic short-term planning systems for vehicle fleet working in ACT, or in modern warehouses which the long list of requests is parted and sorted in preprocessing orders systems.

Design of Human Works Model for Gantry Crane System

Kim Hwan Seong,Son Tran Ngoc Hoang,Kim Seong Ho Korean Institute of Navigation and Port Research 2005 한국항해항만학회지 Vol.29 No.2

In this paper, we propose a human model for analysing the human work pattern or human fault, where a gantry crane simulator is used to survey the property cf human operation From the input and output cf gantry crane response, we make a human operation model by using conventional ARX identification method To identify the human model, we assume the eight inputs and two outputs. By using the achieved input/output data, we estimate the parameters of ARX for the human work model. To verify the proposed method, we compared the real data with the modeled data, where three kinds of work trajectory path are used.

Understanding the COVID-19 Infodemic: Analyzing User-Generated Online Information During a COVID-19 Outbreak in Vietnam

        Ha-Linh Quach,Thai Quang Pham,Ngoc-Anh Hoang,Dinh Cong Phung,Viet-Cuong Nguyen,Son Hong Le,Thanh Cong Le,Dang Hai Le,Anh Duc Dang,Duong Nhu Tran,Nghia Duy Ngu,Florian Vogt,Cong-Khanh Nguyen 대한의료정보학회 2022 Healthcare Informatics Research Vol.28 No.4

Objectives: Online misinformation has reached unprecedented levels during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. This study analyzed the magnitude and sentiment dynamics of misinformation and unverified information about public health interventions during a COVID-19 outbreak in Da Nang, Vietnam, between July and September 2020. Methods: We analyzed user-generated online information about five public health interventions during the Da Nang outbreak. We compared the volume, source, sentiment polarity, and engagements of online posts before, during, and after the outbreak using negative binomial and logistic regression, and assessed the content validity of the 500 most influential posts. Results: Most of the 54,528 online posts included were generated during the outbreak (n = 46,035; 84.42%) and by online newspapers (n = 32,034; 58.75%). Among the 500 most influential posts, 316 (63.20%) contained genuine information, 10 (2.00%) contained misinformation, 152 (30.40%) were non-factual opinions, and 22 (4.40%) contained unverifiable information. All misinformation posts were made during the outbreak, mostly on social media, and were predominantly negative. Higher levels of engagement were observed for information that was unverifiable (incidence relative risk [IRR] = 2.83; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.33–0.62), posted during the outbreak (before: IRR = 0.15; 95% CI, 0.07–0.35; after: IRR = 0.46; 95% CI, 0.34-0.63), and with negative sentiment (IRR = 1.84; 95% CI, 1.23–2.75). Negatively toned posts were more likely to be misinformation (odds ratio [OR] = 9.59; 95% CI, 1.20–76.70) or unverified (OR = 5.03; 95% CI, 1.66–15.24). Conclusions: Misinformation and unverified information during the outbreak showed clustering, with social media being particularly affected. This indepth assessment demonstrates the value of analyzing online “infodemics” to inform public health responses.
