        초등학교 과학 수업에서 팀 게임 토너먼트(TGT) 협동학습의 효과

        The purpose of this study was to develop a way of using Teams Games Tournaments that fits in elementary school science instruction, and to find out its effects on student's learning. Three classes (103 sixth graders) were divided into three groups; a traditional learning group, a cooperative learning group, and a teams games tournaments cooperative learning group. Students were taught about 'several kinds of gas' for nine class periods. The instructional effects upon student's achievement, science learning motivation and self-esteem toward science instruction were examined. The result of this study indicated that there was a significant interaction effect between the treatment and achievement level in the achievement test scores. The achievement test scores of the low level students were significantly higher in the teams games tournaments cooperative learning group than those in the traditional learning groups.

      • 급성 백혈병환아의 혈청내 변형 Ribonucleoside의 변동에 관한 연구

        In order to find out whether the modified ribonucleosides in serum could be used as specific tumor markers for acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) and acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), analysis of serum samples from normal child hood controls and patients with the leukemia was performed using reversedphase HPLC. For this study, a rapid and precise chromatographic method for the determination of very small amounts of modified nucleosides in serum by HPLC has been developed. The ribonucleosides were prefractionated with boronate affinity gel column. 1. The concentration of total modified nucleosides in serum of patients with ALL was increased by 46% as compared to normal control level. Patients with ALL had significantly higher concentrations of pseudouridine (ø), 1-me-thyladenosine(m A), 4-thiouridine(sU), 1-methylinosine(mI), 1-methylguanosine(m G ), N,N-dimethylguanosine(m G ) and -methyl-adenosine( ) than normals. Among these nucleosides elevated, positive rates of ø, m A, m I, m G and N A as a marker for the leukemia were observed to be 79%,79%,64%,93% and 93%, respectively. 2. When compared to normal control value, total modified nucleoside content in serum of patients with AML was increased by 21%, Contents of , mA, sU, mI,mG and NA were significantly incresed in serum of patients with AML. Positive rate of mI, mG and NA were 83%, and that of mA was 67%, respectively in AML studied in this experiment. 3. In follow-up study for seven of fourteen patients with ALL, contents of , mA, mI and mG were decreased to normal value after effective chemotherapy. The results suggested that serum levels of ø, m A,m I, m G and N A for ALL and those of m A, m I, m G and N A for AML could be used as diagnostic or biochemical markers. These markers might be useful to monitor the effectiveness of chemotherapy for leukemia.

      • 초등학교 학생들의 동백잎에 관한 관찰 능력

        The enhancement of inquiry skills has been emphasized as a important objective of science education for a long time.Of these, the observation is not only a simple and basic skill but also a very important skill, in aspect of gathering informations about the nature of all things around us, through interaction between the sense organs of body and objectives. The purpose of this study is to analyze the results of observations about the leaf of Camellia made by the elementary student.from the 3rd to the 6th grade, and to make use of them as the basic materials for the observative learning and the evaluation of the observation ability.As the results of this study, a total number of observation items is 75 ( 59 using the sight sense, 10 using the tactile sense, 5 using the olfactory sense, 1 using the auditory sense and 0 using the palate sense).Generally, most of students have observations the sight and the tactile sense.As the grade ascends, the observations with operation is increased, also the quantitative expression and Interpretation about them is increased.Occasionally, the interpretations on the observative (acts made by student are inaccurate.

        "병안의 촛불실험" 지도를 위한 새로운 접근

        The purpose of this study was to survey the thinking of children, preliminary elementary teachers and elementary teachers in relation to the experiment of candle's combustion in a bottle on the water, to develop some supplementary experiments for the correction of the misconception on this experiment and to propose a new teaching method for this subject-matter The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. Most of the answers are related to the simple observation as the extinguishing of candlelight and the water rising in the bottle after a candle's combustion. And it is appeared that all the groups are similarly short of the ability of experimental design to verify the cause and effect. 2. From the results of the developed supplementary experiments, it is concluded that the main cause of the water rising is not the combustion of oxygen, but the expansion of volume and the releasing of air in the bottle in the bottle by heat of candle's combustion. 3. Based on the above results, a new direction for the teaching method of this subject is proposed.

      • 난소암조직 Acid Deoxyribonuclease의 분리와 성상에 관한 연구

        In order to find out a possible role of acid deoxyribonuclease (DNase) in carcinogenesis of the ovary, activity of the enzyme was measured and the nature of the enzyme was studied in serous cystadenocarcinoma and endodermal sinus tumor of the ovary following the purification of the acid DNase in the tumor tissue of the ovary. (1)The acid DNase activity was greatly increased in the tumor tissues of the ovary, serous cystadenocarcinoma and endodermal sinus tumor tissues, while neutral and alkaline DNase activities were unchanged in the tumor tissues. This may indicate that the acid DNase can be used as a biochemical marker for the ovary tumors. (2)Proteins in the tumor tissues of the ovary were separated by a DEAE-cellulose column chromatography into 7 peak, respectively, of which one peak protein each appeared to be specific for serous cystadenocarcinoma and endodermal sinus tumor. (3)Acid DNases in the tumor tissues of the ovary were isolated into a single peak, respectively. The size of peak in the tumor tissues was greater than that in the control tissue of the ovary, indicating that the acid DNases in the tumor tissues were activated, but not specific for the tumors. (4)Acid DNases in the tumor tissues of the ovary were partially purified by centrifugation and a DEAE-cellulose column chromatography. The purified enzyme was highly active against double stranded DNA (ds-DNA), even though some activity was found against single stranded DNA (ss DNA). Observations that acid DNase from serous cystadenocarcinoma tissue was highly active and specific to ds DNA compared with ss DNA suggested that the enzyme might play a role in transforming normal ovarian cells into cancer cells.

      • 토끼 간조직의 Stimulatory Guanine Nucleotide 결합 단백의 αsubunit 에 대한 cDNA 염기서열에 관한 연구

        G proteins, a family of guanine nucleotide-binding protein superfamily, are involved in transmembrane signaling systems as transducers. In this study cDNAs encoding αsubunit of the stimulatory G protein (G α ) from rabbit liver were cloned and their nucleotide sequences were determined : a λgt 11 cDNA library from total cellular poly (A)' mRNA in rabbit liber was screened for recombinant λDNA that codes for G α with labeled probe. The probe used was an EcoRI digested 3' end fragment of cDNA for G α from olfactory neuroepithelium of rat. Six of the approximately recombinant clones were screened by in situ hybridization and by autoradiography, detecting sixteen positive clones. These clones were tested using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique and thirteen of them were turned out to have two sets of conserved sequence in αcDNA. Four clonse among them were selected form analysis of their cDNA sequences, showing the presence of two types of cDNA, namely and with the total length of nucleotide sequence of1.392bp and 1.613bp, respectively . From nucleotide sequence analysis the amino acid residues of -1 and α-2 were deduced : they contain 335 and 386 amino acid residues (including the initiator methionine), respectively. The calculated molecular weights for and were 38.9kd and 44.6kd, respectively. The significant difference in size between two cDNAs for G αseemed to be due to the assumption that alternative promoter and leading exon might be involved in transcribing the mRNA for . Two types of cDNA from rabbit liver shared over 95% of amino acid homology with that from rat olfactory neuroepichelium if deleted portions are not counted. More information on the cDNAs could be obtained through further studies such as Sl nuclease protection experiment, expression and mutation study.

        초등학교 과학 수업에서 개념도 활용의 효과

        In this study, we investigated the effects of using concept mapping as an instructional tool on 4th graders' achievement, science learning motivation, and attitude toward science classes. T재 classes (38 students) from an elementary school were respectively assigned to a control group and a treatment group. Students were taught about "expansion of matter by heat" and "heat transfer". These topics were chosen because they require students to understand more concepts as well as relationships among them. A science learning motivation test and an attitude toward science classes test were administered as pretests. A researcher-made achievement test, the science learning motivation test, and the attitude toward science classes test were administered as posttests. The results indicated that using concept mapping in 4th-grade science classes was not significantly effective in improving students' achievement though a statistically significant positive effect was found in the subcategory of knowledge. No statistically significant effect of using concept mapping was found in the scores of the science learning motivation test and the attitude toward science classes test. Educational implications are discussed.

        Kinetic Studies on the Aminolysis of 2-Phenyl-1-propyl Arenesulfonates in Methanol

        The results of kinetic studies on the reactions of 2-phenyl-l-propyl arenesulfonates with anilines and benzylamines in methanol at $55.0^{\circ}C$ are reported. The transition state variation with the substituents in the nucleophile (X) and leaving group (Z) is in accord with that expected from a negative ${\sigma}_{XZ}$ value. A stronger nucleophile and nucleofuge lead to a greater extent of bond-making and -breaking. Somewhat greater magnitude of ${\sigma}_{XZ}$ compared to the nearly constant value for the similar processes at a primary carbon atom has been interpreted to result from a partial contribution of the concurrent frontal displacement path.

        Kinetics and Mechanism of the Pyridinolysis of Aryl Cyclopropanecarboxylates in Acetonitrile

        Kinetic studies of the reaction of Z-aryl cyclopropanecarboxylates with X-pyridines in acetonitrile at 55.0 ℃ have been carried out. The reaction proceeds by a stepwise mechanism in which the rate-determining step is the breakdown of the zwitterionic tetrahedral intermediate, $T^{\pm}$. These mechanistic conclusions are drawn base on (i) the large magnitude of ρx and ρz, (ii) the positive sign of ρxz and the larger magnitude of ρxz than normal $S_N2$ processes, (iii) a small positive enthalpy of activation, Δ$H^≠$, and a large negative, Δ$S^≠$, and lastly (iv) adherence to the reactivity-selectivity principle (RSP) in all cases.
