WO₃계 NO_(x)센서의 검지 특성과 바인더 첨가 효과
양종인,한상도,김일진,손영목,임한조 경북대학교 센서기술연구소 1997 센서技術學術大會論文集 Vol.8 No.1
The effects of various binderssuch as PVA, silica sol and alumina on the sensing characteristics of TiO_(2) (4 wt. %)-doped WO_(3)-based NO_(x). sensors were investigated. The sensor with PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) binder showed an improved sensitivity (R_(gas)/R_(air)- in NO_(x) 15 ppm = 375), response time and cross-sensitivity (selectivity) for interference gases (CO, SO_(2), CH_(4), C_(3)H_(8)). It could also be operated at a lower consumption power (about 1.6W at 180℃). The sensors with silica sol and alumina binders showed a decreased sensitivity (R_(gas)/R_(air) in NO_(x) 15 ppm = 63 and 31, respectively) for NO_(x) gas sensing, but they showed an improved cross-sensitivity, response and recovery time (1 -2 min. and 1 min., respectively) than the sensor fabricated without binder.

Design programs which can be used for the fabrication of high-voltage power MOSFET's have been developed on HP-15C programmable calculator. Also, we proposed a method for finding optimum gate pitch with source pitch given after the specifications of the starting wafer and fabrication process were determined. The method was applied to the cases of using two kinds of epitaxially grown wafers and variations of on-resistance were studied in terms of source geometry, source pitch, gate-drain over-lap ratio, etc.
후두 및 하인두 편평세포암종에서 E-cadherin의 면역조직화학적 발현
도남용,나한조,이도용,허준,최지윤,이홍영,임성철 조선대학교 2000 The Medical Journal of Chosun University Vol.25 No.2
Background and Objectives : The cell-cell adhesion molecule E-cadherin is necessary for the maintenance of the epithelial cellular structure. We were designed to confirm the significance of E-cadherin as a marker for differentiation and invasiveness of squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx and hypopharynx. Materials and Methods : Our study was investigated for the immunohistochemical expression of the epithelium-specific cell adhesion molecule E-cadherin in formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue specimen of 32 cases of squamous cell carcinoma of larynx and hypopharynx. Results : The positive expression of E-cadherin was 56.3%(18 cases) in squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx and hypopharynx. Decreased E-cadherin expression was a stastistically significant correlation with a increased grade of lymph node stage and clinical stage. Reduced expression was seen in the large tumor size and poorly differentiated tumors, but these result was not statistically significant. Conclusion : The expression of E-cadherin may be related with progression of squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx and hypopharynx. But these correlation were not sufficient for the prognostic indicators in squamous cell carcinomas of the larynx and hypopharynx.
Information Loss from Type I versus Type II Censoring
Lim, Jo-Han,Song, Hyun-Seok,Lee, Sung-Im 한국통계학회 2006 Communications for statistical applications and me Vol.13 No.2
If the completely observed data are assumed to have full information, the censoring causes the loss of information. Previous studies have introduced the indices of information loss via measuring relative changes between the data with censoring and without censoring. In this paper, the comparisons are made for the information loss between type I and type II censoring in two sample problems.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>The effects of tacticities on the characteristics of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) nanowebs prepared by an electrospinning technique were investigated. PVA webs composed of uniform nanofibers with syndiotactic dyad (s‐dyad) contents of 53.5 and 57.3% were successfully obtained with electrospinning. By changing processing parameters such as the initial polymer concentration, applied voltage, and tip‐to‐collector distance, we found suitable conditions for forming PVA webs with uniform nanofibers. PVAs of higher s‐dyad contents were prepared at a lower solution concentration and at a higher applied voltage because of the easy formation of syndiotactic PVA chain entanglements at a very low polymer concentration. The average diameter of the nanofibers in a PVA web with the higher s‐dyad content of 57.3% (ca. 240 nm) was thinner than that of the nanofibers in a PVA web with the lowers‐dyad content of 53.5% (ca. 270 nm). In addition, the crystallinity and thermal stability were greatly increased with an increase in the s‐dyad content. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 2007</P>
Analyzing Survival Data as Binary Outcomes with Logistic Regression
Lim, Jo-Han,Lee, Kyeong-Eun,Hahn, Kyu-S.,Park, Kun-Woo The Korean Statistical Society 2010 Communications for statistical applications and me Vol.17 No.1
Clinical researchers often analyze survival data as binary outcomes using the logistic regression method. This paper examines the information loss resulting from analyzing survival time as binary outcomes. We first demonstrate that, under the proportional hazard assumption, this binary discretization does result in a significant information loss. Second, when fitting a logistic model to survival time data, researchers inadvertently use the maximal statistic. We implement a numerical study to examine the properties of the reference distribution for this statistic, finally, we show that the logistic regression method can still be a useful tool for analyzing survival data in particular when the proportional hazard assumption is questionable.

This paper studies two sequential procedures to estimate a monotone convex function using $L_2$ monotonization and uniform convexification; one, denoted by FMSC, monotonizes the data first and then, convexifis the monotone estimate; the other, denoted by FCSM, first convexifies the data and then monotonizes the convex estimate. We show that two shape modifiers are not commutable and so does FMSC and FCSM. We compare them numerically in uniform error(UE) and integrated mean squared error(IMSE). The results show that FMSC has smaller uniform error(UE) and integrated mean squared error(IMSE) than those of FCSC.
Estimation of Liquidity Cost in Financial Markets
Lim, Jo-Han,Lee, Ki-Seop,Song, Hyun-Seok The Korean Statistical Society 2008 Communications for statistical applications and me Vol.15 No.1
The liquidity risk is defined as an additional risk in the market due to the timing and size of a trade. A recent work by Cetin et ai. (2003) proposes a rigorous mathematical model incorporating this liquidity risk into the arbitrage pricing theory. A practical problem arising in a real market application is an estimation problem of a liquidity cost. In this paper, we propose to estimate the liquidity cost function in the context of Cetin et al. (2003) using the constrained least square (LS) method, and illustrate it by analyzing the Kellogg company data.
The Coexistence of OFDM-Based Systems Beyond 3G with Fixed Service Microwave Systems
Jo Han-Shin,Yoon Hyun-Goo,Lim Jae-Woo,Chung Woo-Ghee,Yook Jong-Gwan,Park Han-Kyu The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2006 Journal of communications and networks Vol.8 No.2
In this paper, we study the coexistence of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based systems beyond 3G (B3G) and point-to-point (P-P) fixed service (FS) microwave systems. The advanced general analytical model derived via a power spectral density (PSD) analysis proposed in this paper has two advantages in comparison with the conventional minimum coupling loss (MCL) method. First, the interfering signal power that appears in the band of a victim system can be easily assessed without a spectrum emission mask. Second, when transmit power is not allocated to some subcarriers overlapping the band of the victim system in order to mitigate B3G OFDM-based systems interference with other systems, the general analytical model can successfully assess the interference from the B3G systems into FS systems, whereas the MCL method incorporating the spectrum emission mask cannot be applied in the presence of the same interference condition. The proposed model can be derived in a closed form and is simply implemented with the help of simulation, and thus the solution can be obtained in significantly reduced time. Through application of the proposed model, coexistence results are analyzed in a co-channel and adjacent channel with respect to guard band and minimum separation distance.
ALMOST SURE LIMITS OF SAMPLE ALIGNMENTS IN PROPORTIONAL HAZARDS MODELS
Lim Jo-Han,Kim Seung-Jean The Korean Statistical Society 2006 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.35 No.3
The proportional hazards model (PHM) can be associated with a non- homogeneous Markov chain (NHMC) in the sense that sample alignments in the PHM correspond to trajectories of the NHMC. As a result the partial likelihood widely used for the PHM is a probabilistic function of the trajectories of the NHMC. In this paper, we show that, as the total number of subjects involved increases, the trajectories of the NHMC, i.e. sample alignments in the PHM, converges to the solution of an ordinary differential equation which, subsequently, characterizes the almost sure limit of the partial likelihood.
