Kim, Chang-Su,Jung, Hoe-Kyung The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2009 Journal of information and communication convergen Vol.7 No.2
Lately, influence of information rises and interest about satisfaction estimation of information providing service is risin. According to rapid change in information environment, information-providing service is being changed in various form, in which center development is made in relation to the effort for customer satisfaction intended to enhance user's satisfaction level through providing more convenient and higher service centered on information service user rather than information service provider. Organizations providing information service is also changing their service from traditional one centered on service provider to that for user's satisfaction and service quality, and evaluation of information service quality and measurement of user's satisfaction as the result of using information service are regarded important. In this respect, it is needed to measure user's satisfaction level for environmental factors of information service and analyze what kind of influence they have to enhance user's satisfaction level of information service. Also function and efficiency of information offer service are important. Therefore, interest for satisfaction survey to heighten contents satisfaction of information-providing service, service satisfaction, satisfaction of user of system satisfaction is increased. In this paper, we propose a model of the user satisfaction index for information-providing services and present the user satisfaction index is measured to the model. Also we this study suggest qualitative improvements of information-providing service required for change to user-centric information-providing service through measuring user satisfaction index of ITFIND system and schemes to improve information quality

Korea-China with the fastest speed Internet Broad Band, has achieved many progresses on Internet shopping. Especially, Korea has made a great effort on comparison website construction. A research prototype design and exploratory analysis are presented to assess success factors and impacts of Korea and China price comparison websites. For different user groups, the relationships between the characteristics of technology and tasks, usage, and organizational impacts were analysed. It shows us how to improve the applicability of fit-viability of the price comparison web sites in China after analysis. These results indicate a need for simple but highly functional price comparison applications. And we designed a sample model to include an interactive web service system for price comparison sites that complement existing information systems. This paper provides a basis for further research aiming to improve the design and management of business applications based on emerging technologies of web service and browser for information management.
Information Processing in Primate Retinal Ganglion
Je, Sung-Kwan,Cho, Jae-Hyun,Kim, Gwang-Baek The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2004 Journal of information and communication convergen Vol.2 No.2
Most of the current computer vision theories are based on hypotheses that are difficult to apply to the real world, and they simply imitate a coarse form of the human visual system. As a result, they have not been showing satisfying results. In the human visual system, there is a mechanism that processes information due to memory degradation with time and limited storage space. Starting from research on the human visual system, this study analyzes a mechanism that processes input information when information is transferred from the retina to ganglion cells. In this study, a model for the characteristics of ganglion cells in the retina is proposed after considering the structure of the retina and the efficiency of storage space. The MNIST database of handwritten letters is used as data for this research, and ART2 and SOM as recognizers. The results of this study show that the proposed recognition model is not much different from the general recognition model in terms of recognition rate, but the efficiency of storage space can be improved by constructing a mechanism that processes input information.

In this paper, we describes the information-theoretic approaches to sensor selection and sensor placement in sensor networks for target localization and tracking. We have developed a sensor selection heuristic to activate the most informative candidate sensor for collaborative target localization and tracking. The fusion of the observation by the selected sensor with the prior target location distribution yields nearly the greatest reduction of the entropy of the expected posterior target location distribution. Our sensor selection heuristic is computationally less complex and thus more suitable to sensor networks with moderate computing power than the mutual information sensor selection criteria. We have also developed a method to compute the posterior target location distribution with the minimum entropy that could be achieved by the fusion of observations of the sensor network with a given deployment geometry. We have found that the covariance matrix of the posterior target location distribution with the minimum entropy is consistent with the Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRB) of the target location estimate. Using the minimum entropy of the posterior target location distribution, we have characterized the effect of the sensor placement geometry on the localization accuracy.
Developing Information Services and Social Integration of Marriage Migrant Women in Korea
김안나,Kim, Anna The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2018 한국정보통신학회논문지 Vol.22 No.12
Korea has experienced an increase in the number of immigrants in accordance with accelerated globalization. In particular, the rapid surge in international marriages and multicultural families has created social adaptation or inclusion problems for these families in Korean society. This paper examines how information services or technological education programs affect the social integration of marriage migrant women in Korea. Using survey data on international marriage migrant women, we conducted multiple and logistic regression models to examine the relationship between information and technology services and life satisfaction and employment status. The results show that the experience of using social services tends to have positive effects on life satisfaction. Having experiences of information services or technological education improves marriage migrant women's chances of employment and increases their willingness to work or start a business. This indicates the importance of information services or technological educational training and social services in improving social adaptation and integration of marriage migrant women in Korea.

Information-security management systems (ISMSs) are becoming very important, even for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, implementing an ISMS is not an easy task. Many obstacles must be overcome, e.g., complexity, document tracking, competency management, and even changing cultures. The objective of our study is to provide ISMS application tools, based on ISO 27001:2013 ISM frameworks. The application was developed on the Odoo Open Enterprise Resource Planning platform. To validate its feasibility for future improvement, the application was implemented by an MSME company. For this implementation, information-security-related users gave their feedback through a questionnaire. The distributed feedback questionnaire consists of nine assessment parameters, covering topics from the application's technical aspects to users' experiences. Based on the questionnaire feedback, all users of the application were satisfied with its performance.
A Recommendation Model based on Character-level Deep Convolution Neural Network
기가기,정영지,Ji, JiaQi,Chung, Yeongjee The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2019 한국정보통신학회논문지 Vol.23 No.3
In order to improve the accuracy of the rating prediction of the recommendation model, not only user-item rating data are used but also consider auxiliary information of item such as comments, tags, or descriptions. The traditional approaches use a word-level model of the bag-of-words for the auxiliary information. This model, however, cannot utilize the auxiliary information effectively, which leads to shallow understanding of auxiliary information. Convolution neural network (CNN) can capture and extract feature vector from auxiliary information effectively. Thus, this paper proposes character-level deep-Convolution Neural Network based matrix factorization (Char-DCNN-MF) that integrates deep CNN into matrix factorization for a novel recommendation model. Char-DCNN-MF can deeper understand auxiliary information and further enhance recommendation performance. Experiments are performed on three different real data sets, and the results show that Char-DCNN-MF performs significantly better than other comparative models.

Currently, advanced countries such as European countries and Japan invest lots of efforts to develop improvement of electric power production and supply, environmental countermeasure, and renewable energy development. Accordingly, Korea has been putting efforts to all kinds of electric related technical development based on the mid-long term plan. Further, it is necessary to increase effectiveness of R&D investment by propelling joint research activities with advanced countries for development of important technologies. Based on this background, this study tries to find thought-provoking suggestions of energy projects, programs and policies. For a comparative analysis, Japan which is similar to Korea in terms of market size and policies, and EU where joint research has been actively carried out among nations are analyzed and compared to policies and joint R&D activities of Korea.
Topology Aggregation Schemes for Asymmetric Link State Information
Yoo, Young-Hwan,Ahn, Sang-Hyun,Kim, Chong-Sang The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2004 Journal of communications and networks Vol.6 No.1
In this paper, we present two algorithms for efficiently aggregating link state information needed for quality-of-service (QoS) routing. In these algorithms, each edge node in a group is mapped onto a node of a shufflenet or a node of a de Bruijn graph. By this mapping, the number of links for which state information is maintained becomes aN (a is an integer, N is the number of edge nodes) which is significantly smaller than N2 in the full-mesh approach. Our algorithms also can support asymmetric link state parameters which are common in practice, while many previous algorithms such as the spanning tree approach can be applied only to networks with symmetric link state parameters. Experimental results show that the performance of our shufflenet algorithm is close to that of the full-mesh approach in terms of the accuracy of bandwidth and delay information, with only a much smaller amount of information. On the other hand, although it is not as good as the shufflenet approach, the de Bruijn algorithm also performs far better than the star approach which is one of the most widely accepted schemes. The de Bruijn algorithm needs smaller computational complexity than most previous algorithms for asymmetric networks, including the shufflenet algorithm.
