Fifty-two cases of traumatic bone cysts in 50 patients were analysed clinically and radiologically. The obtained results were as follows; 1. Women showed a slightly higher incidence than did men (56% of patients) and the average age proved to be 18.6 years. 2. The majority of the cases were asymptomatic, being detected incidentally, and over the half of the cases occurred in the mandibular symphyseal region. 3. All cases were unilocular and the largest diameter of the lesions varied from 1 to 10㎝, mean 3㎝. 4. Some degree of marginal condensation was present in 28 cases and 23 cases presented pencil-sketch appearance. 5. Many anatomical cortical plates(especially, mandibular inferior cortex and lamina durae) consisted of the margin of the lesions partly. 6. Erosive change of the mandibular inferior cortex was caused by 12 cysts, but cortical expansion only by 3 cysts including 2 cases of buccal expansion. 7. The lesion enveloped the roots of the adjacent teeth in 27 cases and scalloping was present between roots in 17 cases. 8. Lamina dura of the teeth was destroyed by only 1 cyst, and in 1 case root resorption was noticed. But there was no divergence of the roots of teeth.

This paper describes development of low cost precision machine that has combined the Build-in Motor with a vacuum chuck. This study mainly aims to find out a cutting condition for maintaining optimum surface condition and to examine cutting characteristics of the precision machine that is equipped by diamond bites. The cutting materials is Al alloy. Several experiments were carried out to find out the main factors that affect the surface roughness such as principal axis RPM(rotation per minute), feeding speed, and cutting depth. As a result, we obtain The optimum cutting condition of the developed precision machine.

Expression of xenobiotic-metabolizing enzymes can be altered by xenobiotics, which represents changes in the production of reactive metabolic intermediates as well as toxicities in tissues. Metabolic intermediates derived from xenobiotics are considered to produce the reactive oxygen species including drug free radicals and hydroxyl free radicals, which would be ultimately responsible for drug-induced toxicities. The effects of 1,2-benzothiazine anti-inflammatory agents on the expression of xenobiotic-metabolizing enzymes including major cytochrome P450s, microsomal epoxide hydrolase (mEH) and glutathione S-transferase (GST) were studied in the liver with the aim of providing the part of information on potential production of reactive metabolites and hepatotoxicity by the agents. The synthetic compounds 24, 36 and 39 exhibited anti-inflammatory effects in rats as assessed by the Randall-Selitto method. The anti-inflammatory effect was detected as early as at 30 min after gavaging the agents with the ED50 being noted at 80 ㎎/㎏, which was comparable to that of ibuprofen. Treatment of rats with each compound (100 ㎎/㎏,3d) resulted in no significant induction in the immunochemically-detectable cytochromes P450 1A1/2, P450 2B1/2, P450 2C11 and P450 2E1. Changes in the mEH expression were also minimal, as evidenced by both Western blot and Northern blot analyses. Hepatic GST expression was slightly increased by the agents: GST Ya protein and mRNA expression was 1.5-fold increased after treatment with compounds 24 and 39, whereas GST Yb1/2 and Yc1/2 mRNA levels were elevated 2-to 3-fold. In summary, the effects of the synthetic 1,2-benzothiazines on the expression of major P450, mEH and GST were not significant, providing evidence that methbolic activation of the agents, potential drug interaction and hepatotoxicity would be minimal.

Background

Carbon monoxide (CO) is one of the primary components of emissions from light-duty vehicles, and reportedly comprises 77% of all pollutants emitted in terms of concentration. Exposure to CO aggravates cardiovascular disease and causes other health disorders. The study was aimed to assess the negative effects by injecting different amounts of CO concentration directly to human volunteers boarding in the car.

Methods

Human volunteers were exposed to CO concentrations of 0, 33.2, and 72.4 ppm, respectively during the first test and 0, 30.3, and 48.8 ppm respectively during the second test while seated in the car. The volunteers were exposed to each concentration for approximately 45 min. After exposure, blood pressure measurement, blood collection (carboxyhemoglobin [COHb] analysis), medical interview, echocardiography test, and cognitive reaction test were performed.

Result

In patients who were exposed to a mean concentration of CO for 72.4 ± 1.4 ppm during the first exposure test and 48.8 ± 3.7 ppm during the second exposure test, the COHb level exceeded 2%. Moreover, the diastolic blood pressure was decreased while increasing in CO concentration after exposure. The medical interview findings showed that the degree of fatigue was increased and the degree of concentration was reduced when the exposed concentration of CO was increased.

Conclusion

Although the study had a limited sample size, we found that even a low concentration of CO flowing into a car could have a negative influence on human health, such as change of blood pressure and degree of fatigue.

3D file formats typically include OBJ (Wavefront file format), STL (STereoLithography), and FBX (Filmbox). Each format has limitations depending on its configuration and usage, and supported formats are different depending on the software application. glTF helps uniform integration of 3D file formats and allows for more efficient transmission of large 3D geometry files by organizing them in a binary format. This paper presents explanation on OBJ, FBX, and STL which are major examples of existing 3D file formats. It also explains the concept and characteristics of glTF and compares its performance with other 3D file formats on the web. The loading time and packets of each 3D file format are measured according to the web browser environment by means of Google Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge. Experimental results show that glTF is the most efficient and that it exhibits the best performance. As to STL, relatively excessive traffic was observed. This study is expected to contribute to reducing rendering time on the web as 3D file formats are used.
