The interest in the accelerated reliability test of engine mounts and engine wiring harness is increasing. This paper presents a lab-simulation test which has shortened the validation period for the durability of engine mounts and the reliability of engine sensor wiring/connecter. This paper also presents the making process of the durability test mode based on the severity comparison between proving ground and field road load data. The techniques for simulation by multi-axial simulation table (MAST) and some application are also described in this paper.

The reduction of weight and cost of a new vehicle has been essential to all automotive companies. The recent improvement in CAE and analysis technique could optimize design and reduce the weight and cost of vehicle components. However, these techniques still depend upon the traditional design targets derived from previous experience and testing results. Therefore, it is important to increase the accuracy and reliability of the design targets. The optimization of driveline components plays a bigger role in weight reducing. In order to optimize the size of CVJ (Constant Variable Joins) of a vehicle, driving torque data must be estimated correctly in early development stage of a new vehicle. It is important to measure torque accurately in real usage condition, especially including misuse condition. In this paper, the measured maximum driving torque was correlated with vehicle dimension and power train output. As a result, it is possible to predict durability and strength target of driveline components in early development stage. Moreover, the size of CVJ of some vehicles could be reduced through this study.

Background and Purpose Long-term changes in post-stroke depression (PSD), post-stroke emotional incontinence (PSEI), and post-stroke anger (PSA) have rarely been studied. Methods This is a sub-study of EMOTION, a randomized, placebo-controlled trial, that examined the efficacy of escitalopram on PSD, PSEI, and PSA in patients with stroke. We interviewed patients at the long-term period (LTP) using predefined questionnaires: Montgomery-Åsberg depression rating scale (MADRS) for PSD, modified Kim’s criteria for PSEI, and Spielberger trait anger scale for PSA. Additionally, the ENRICHD Social Support Instrument (ESSI) for the social support state and the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) were measured. We investigated the changes in and factors behind PSD, PSEI, and PSA at LTP. Results A total of 222 patients were included, and the median follow-up duration was 59.5 months (interquartile range, 50 to 70). Compared to the data at 6 months post-stroke, the prevalence of PSEI (11.7% at 6 months, 6.3% at LTP; P=0.05) and mean anger score (21.62, 16.24; P<0.01) decreased, while the prevalence of PSD (35.6%, 44.6%; P=0.03) and mean MADRS (6.16, 8.67; P<0.01) increased at LTP. ESSI was associated with PSD and PSA, but not with PSEI. The effect of the baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score on PSD decreased over time. The effect of low social support on PSD was greater than that of mRS at LTP. Conclusions The prevalence and degree of PSD significantly increased, while those of PSEI and PSA decreased at LTP. PSD in this stage appeared to be more closely associated with a lack of social support than patients' physical disabilities.

Foxp3+ regulatory CD4+ T (Treg) cells play an essential role in preventing overt immune responses against self and innocuous foreign antigens. Selective expansion of endogenous Treg cells in response to the administration of interleukin (IL)-2/antibody complex, such as the IL-2/JES6-1 complex (IL-2C) in mice, is considered an attractive therapeutic approach to various immune disorders. Here, we investigated the therapeutic potential of IL-2C in allergic airway inflammation models. IL-2C treatment ameliorated Th17-mediated airway inflammation; however, unexpectedly, IL-2C treatment exacerbated Th2-mediated allergic airway inflammation by inducing the selective expansion of Th2 cells and type-2 innate lymphoid cells. We also found that IL-2 signaling is required for the expansion of Th2 cells in lymphoproliferative disease caused by Treg cell depletion. Our data suggest that IL-2C is selectively applicable to the treatment of allergic airway diseases depending on the characteristics of airway inflammation. [BMB Reports 2019; 52(4): 283-288]

Sarcoidosis is a systemic disease of unknown cause that involves multiple organs and is characterized by non-caseating granuloma. Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an autoimmune disease characterized by increased peripheral platelet destruction due to the presence of an antibody to the platelet and abnormal platelet production. There is no known pathogenesis that occur concurrently ITP and sarcoidosis. But considering together of two known pathogenesis, abnormal immune response trigger either ITP or sarcoidosis. And the disease which is developed earlier stimulates secondary disease. After secondary disease developed, they are stimulates each other. A few cases of ITP associated with sarcoidosis are documented, but the disease has rarely been reported in Korea. Here, we report a case of ITP with sarcoidosis in 29-year-old man. He suffered from easy bruising. The chest X-ray and the contrast-enhanced computed tomography revealed bihilar lymphadenopathy and reticulonodular infiltrates. Bone marrow study and fiuoroscopy-guided percutaneous needle biopsy was done and diagnosed with ITP and sarcoidosis. The patient was put on 400mg/kg of intravenous immunoglobulin for five days and after 4th day of the administration, uveitis is confirmed and then put on 20mg of prednisolone. Since platelets was restored to 200,000/uL, he was discharged with 20mg of prednisolone. During 7 months after discharge, prednisolone was slowly reduced to 7.5mg/2days but platelet count was decreased to 19,000/uL. It is difficult to reduce steroid, immunosuppressive agents which are azathioprine and methotrexate are administrated for additional 4 months. Follow-up 14 months, platelet count was 62,000/uL and lung infiltrates and lymphadenopathy was improved in chest X-ray. It has been good response without significant bleeding event. But it needed more administration of oral steroid, additional immunosuppressive agents and more duration of follow-up than single disease whether sarcoidosis or ITP.
