Inverted follicular keratosis is a benign epithelial tumor occurring most frequently on the face or scalp of older persons as a firm, skin-colored papule. It may rarely occur from a pre-existing nevus sebaceus as a secondary tumor. Herein we report a case of inverted follicular keratosis arising from a pre-existing nevus sebaceus in a 47-year-old male. He presented with a keratotic erythematous dome-shaped tumor which suddenly developed from a pre-existing yellowish papillomatous plaque on his scalp. Histopathological findings of the secondary lesion revealed a proliferating epithelial tumor with numous squamous eddies in the center, consistent with inverted follicular keratosis. Melamine-formaldehyde resin is widely used in manufactur ing plastics, tableware, t,extile and paper finishing, laminates, electrical insulations, and adhesives throughout the world, Allergic contact dermatitis to this resin has rarely been reported worldwide and has not been reported in Korean literature. We report a case of occupational allergic contact dermatitis to melamine-formaldehyde resin in a 38-year-old man. He had been working for a month in a textile factory when pruritic multiple erythematous patches and placjues developed on the face, both forearms and dorsa of the hands. In the factory melamine-forrnldehyde resin was used for crease resistant finishing. A Patch test revealed a positive reaction to rnelamine-formaldehyde resin. (Kor J Dermatol 1997;35(2): 369-373)

The Laugier-Hunziker syndrome is a rare syndrome characterized by macular hyperpigmentation of the lips and buccal mucosa associated with melanonychia. Onset is usually in adult life and no consistent systemic associations have been reported. Here we report a 39-year-old wonam with a longitudinal pigmented band on a finger and pigmented macules on the lip. We suggest that this is the first report in Korea and the syndrome is presumably more common than recognized. (Korean J Dermatol 1999;37(1): 113-115)

Localized scleroderma is a connective-tissue disorder that is limited to the skin and subcutaneous tissue, sometimes involving muscles beneath the cutaneous lesions. Although it is usually a self-limiting disease, complications like growth failure, joint contractures, deformities and functional impairment may occur resulting in significant morbidity. Herein we report a 9-year-old girl who presented with hemiatrophy as a major clinical feature associated with widespread multiple hyperpigmented sclerotic plaques. The patient proved to be a relatively rare case of hemiatrophy secondary to extensive generalized morphea also having complicating features of joint contracture and growth failure of involved extremities.
Vol.35 No.1
Acanthoma fissuratum is a localized thickening of the skin in response to pressure by an eyeglass frame and usually occurs on the retroauricular fold, superior auricular crease, or bridge of the nose. The definitive diagnosis can be confirmed by characteristic clinical and histopathological features in association with anamnestic data. Herein we report a case of acanthoma fissuratum developing on an unusual site-the mucosa of the upper lip and it was successfully treated with simple excision. (Kor J Dermatol 1997;35(1): 179-181)
