        순환여과시스템에서 염분농도가 전복, Haliotis discus hannai에 미치는 영향

        When abalones were farmed in a Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) with inadequate water conditioning for a long time, the salt concentration gradually increased to more than 36 psu. This study raised abalones in different salt concentrations (30, 33, 36, and 39 psu) in a RAS and examined growth (shell and weight), cumulative mortality, changes in blood components, and histological changes to explore the effect of salt concentration on these parameters. During the two-week experiment, the daily growth rate decreased and the cumulative mortality increased as the salt concentration in the water increased. Concentrations of K+, Na+, and Cl- ions in the hemolymph changed significantly, and the cell mortality of blood cells increased. In addition, histopathological alterations in gill and digestive tubule of the abalone showed more obvious with experimental condition of salinity increase. Based on the results, a salinity of 36 psu or higher is not a suitable environment for the survival of abalones.

        수온이 새꼬막, Scapharca subcrenata의 생존에 미치는 영향

        In this study, as the water temperature rises due to climate, we tried to reset the 50% lethal temperature and critical water temperatures of the ark shell, Scapharca subcrenata. Determine the effect of high water temperatures on the survival of the ark shells, they were exposed for 7 days at 26, 28, 30, 32, 34 and 36℃. As a result, the survival rate was higher than 90.0% from 26 to 32℃, and the mortality rate appeared rapidly at 36℃, and all of them died on the 5th day. Based on this, the 50% lethal temperature (7 day-LT50) was 35.7℃ and the critical water temperature was 36℃. In order to analyze the cause of death of S. subcrenata at the aquaculture, thought that long-term and combination factors should be analyzed.

        해상 가두리양식장 양식어류의 대량폐사에 대하여

        The aquaculture industry has developed rapidly over the last three decades and is an important industry that supplies over 15% of humans' animal protein intake; therefore, there is a need to increase production to meet the continuous demand. The fish cage farms on the southern coast (Kyengsangnam-do and Jeollanam-do) of Korea are critical resources in aquaculture because they account for approximately 90% of the national total fish cage farms by water area ratio. However, the current aquaculture environment is being gradually affected by climate change, which is a global issue, and its effects are expected to intensify in the future. Therefore, it is urgently imperative to accurately evaluate the effects of climate change on South Korean aquaculture industries and to develop social and national strategies to minimize damage to the fishing industry. The damage to fish farmed in cage farms on the southern coast is increasing annually and the leading causes are high and low water temperature and red tides, which are directly or indirectly related to climate change. At present, global warming can provide opportunities for aquaculture industrialization of fish or other novel species, with economic implications. However, despite such opportunities, the influx of new species can also cause problems such as ecological disturbances, increase in the reproduction frequency of microalgae such as red tide, increase in disease incidence, and occurrence and periods of high water temperatures in summer. The scale of farmed fish mortality is increasing due to the complex effects of these factors. Increased damages due to fish mortality not only have severe economic impacts on the aquaculture industry, but the social costs of responding to the damage and follow-up measures also increase. various active responses can reduce the mortality damage in fish farms such as improving the management skills in aquaculture, improved species breeding, efficient food management, disease prevention, proactive responses, and system-wide improvements. This review article analyzes the large-scale mortality cases occurring in fish cage farms on the southern coast of Korea and proposes measures to mitigate mortality and enhance responses to such scenarios.

        Growth of abalone (Haliotis discus hannai) in cages using epibiont control measures

        In this study, the relationship between the growth of abalone and the presence of epibionts was investigated in abalone cultured in Goheung, Jeollanam-do, where there are severe problems high water temperatures and attachment. The experiment was conducted for eight months (May–December 2020), and 40 abalone were collected every month. Water temperature was at its highest at a range of 13.5℃–26.6℃ and dissolved oxygen levels were at their lowest at a range of 4.0–10.2 μg/L in August. The shell height (mm) of abalone grew to 117.7% (81.8 ± 1.9 mm) in cultures where epibionts were removed (ER) and 111% (77.4 ± 3.3 mm) where they were not (non-epibionts, NER). Their total weight (TW) and body weight increased significantly and steadily with ER, whereas the TW increased sharply after August with NER. In the condition index, no significant difference was observed between ER and NER. The monthly proportion of epibionts increased significantly in July, accounting for the value of 69.9% reached in December.

        Cultural Translation of Debate in Korean

        Transformational processes of borrowed speech activities are addressed since the topic of debate. Debate is rooted in Western political discourse, and is now situated in Korean discourse. This study examines debate in order to understand the concept and rules of speaking which govern that activity. Considering the popularity of debate in Korean, particularly in educational domains, it seems only natural to see how Korean language/culture compares with and has modified a Western-oriented activity. The motivation of this current study is as a response to a prior lack of effort to look at language from a broader context. This study attempts to apply the ethnography of communication to debate proposed by Hymes (1964; 1972; 1974). From the ethnographic approach to communi-cation, speaking is inseparable from the context in which it takes place. The need to examine contextual factors is taken into conside-ration, and a set of components are identified to study language in use (i.e. setting, participants, keys, and norms). In this view, debate is analyzed as a cultural product. Findings reveal certain diverse features of ‘Koreanized’ debate. The language of Korean debate in expressing disagreement tends to be indirect. While agreement is directly expressed, disagreement is likely to be realized by means of disarmers and prefacing statements. The expression of oppositional opinion also becomes longer.

        한·중·일 근세전통주거 내·외부의 관계에 따른 풍경을 담아내는 방식 비교연구

        As a standard to recognize the commonness and uniqueness among East Asian housing culture, this paper compares the sense of boundary between inside and outside space among traditional residence in Korea, China, and Japan. The purpose of this paper is to extract the spatial characteristics supporting its own vernacular system and to analyze the tendency how to perceive the space and the boundary in a different way. As a case study, the following housing types are selected and analyzed; Houses of ‘Sadaebuga(士大夫家)’ in Joseon dynasty of Korea, ‘Shoin-style House(書院造)’ in the period of Edo in Japan and ‘Siheyuan(四合院)’ in the Chiang period of China. To deal with the issue of inside and outside space, semi-void space which has the intermediate functions is critical in terms of defining the boundary of spatial compositions. Each representative precedent in three countries has particular semi-void space in the diverse of shape and size. Semi-void space provides the clue to trace the way how to people perceive the sense of boundary in the middle of solid and void groups. The sizes, the positions and the functions of the semi-void space integrate overall spatial atmosphere according to the genetic prototypes that each case has developed. Each three housing type shows various degree of visual privacy and enclosure, overlapping view and interlocking spatial experience. Unspecified or blurred boundary severed to generate various visual connections determines the perceives size, and the number of overlapped layer in space. Accordingly, this study precedently review the meaning of inside and outside in the east Asia residence and analyze space attribute in the idea of boundary crossed in the residence of three counties. These analysis is focused on extracting inherent pattern at boundary crossed and duplicated in the residence, where inside space and outside space have different layout and different size in the example.

        송대 선종사원의 승당과 고원 배치 전통

        The purpose of this study is to clarify the historical background of the setting of seungdang(僧堂) and gowon (庫院) in the Zen Buddhist temples of Song dynasty, in terms of as a Buddhist temple universality and as a Zen temple specificity, through the historical reference investigation on its relevance to the Buddhist temples of Tang dynasty. In the Zen Buddhist temples of Song dynasty, the Zen meditation space of seungdang was located on the west side of Buddha hall, and the kitchen and officiating priest's living space of gowon was located on the east side of Buddha hall. Through the analysis of historical reference it was confirmed that, in the Buddhist temples of Tang dynasty, the Zen meditation section of seonwon(禪院) was on the west side, and the gowon was on the east side too. Therefore, it can be said that, the setting method of seungdang and gowon of the Zen Buddhist temples of Song dynasty was established above tradition of the Tang dynasty Buddhist temples.
