South Korean universities have the common prevalent problem of significantly declining student populations. This study aims to explore the management strategy behind how the two South Korean maritime universities (Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU) and Mokpo National Maritime University (MMU)) in particular, can solve the above problem by achieving internationalization through Twinning programs, taking advantage of their specialties in shipping and shipbuilding to export South Korean maritime education overseas. Twinning programs will also allow the universities to achieve the internationalization of their management, the globalization of their students, and the strengthening of the international competitiveness of the South Korean maritime industry. To achieve the above aim, this study will conduct a literature review on the internationalization background of general domestic and foreign universities. This study will also try to grasp the reality of, the obstacles to, and the factors that will accelerate the internationalization of the South Korean maritime universities. Finally, this study will research and propose directions the South Korean maritime universities can take to achieve pragmatic internationalization that comply with the current law on the export of higher education. This will be done by exploring the current status and trend of other universities' attraction of foreign international students, the legal feasibility and activation measures of the co-operation of curricula, and the researcher's own experiences.

이 연구의 목적은 첫째, 항만국 통제의 의의 및 시행배경과 이론을 고찰하고, 둘째, 항만국 통제와 관련된 국제협약관계를 고찰하며, 셋째, 항만국 통제에 대한 국제비교와 우리나라 해운기업의 사례를 분석하며, 마지막으로 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 항만국 통제에 대한 우리나라 해운기업의 대응방안을 제시하는데 있다. A recent trend of global shipping industry adopting Port State Control (PSC) system is recognized as a proficient mechanism in preventing maritime accident and protecting marine environment. Disadvantages of Korean shipping companies in PSC inspection are unavoidable as Tokyo MOU imposed priority listed flag to Korea Having stated above, appropriate research and prompt preparation in compliance with current PSC requirements for the Korean shipping companies have become an immediate need The objectives of this study are: First, to review in understanding of PSC in overall and foundation of enforcement. Second, to study interaction of international treaties regarding PSC. Third, to compare practical compliance among the countries and to open up a case study on Korean shipping companies in adopting PSC Last, to suggest direction to the Korea shipping companies the most proficient way in compliance with the current Tokyo MOU requirement.

본 논문에서는 스모 경기를 위한 두 개의 스모로봇을 구현하였다. 스모 로봇 경기는 검은색 바탕에 흰색 테두리로 이루어진 경기장에서 두 로봇이 서로 마주 본 상태로 경기를 시작한다. 경기는 한 로봇이 경기장 밖으로 밀려나거나 넘어지면 패배하게 된다 본 논문의 스모 로봇은 이동부 감지부 공격부로 나누어져 있다. 이동부는 두 개의 전동기로 전진과 후진을 담당하고 감지부는 빛 센서를 이용해 경기장 테두리를 감지했을 때 이탈을 방지하는 우회전 후진 동작을 하며 공격부는 초음파 센서로 상대 로봇과의 거리를 감지해 한 개의 전동기로 갈퀴를 동작시켜 적을 넘어뜨린다. 본 로봇 구현을 위해 NXC언어로 프로그래밍 하였으며 제작된 스모 로봇이 정해진 룰에 따라 정확히 동작함을 보였다. In this paper, the robot for a sumo match was implement\ed. The sumo-robot matches on stadium which is divided into black area floor and white border The game is started when two robots are facing each other in the stadium. If a robot was pushed out of the stadium or knock down, the robot will lose. The presented sumo-robots consists of moving part, detection part and attack part. The moving part has two electric motors and responsible to move forward and reverse, the detection part takes charge right backward operation to prevent derailment when it detects the boundaries of the stadium by an optical sensor and finally, the attack part make the robot fall knock down by the rake in the motor senses when the other robot is in the constant distance using the ultrasonic sensor. The process of these sumo-robots operation wass programmed using the NXC language and It was showed that these sumo-robot are operated well according to predefined rule was produced.

Pyogenic liver abscess is a serious clinical disease with severe complications in 10-20% of the cases. Metastatic septic endophthalmitis is a rare complication associated with liver abscess. Despite appropriate treatment, the outcome is devastating. We experienced a case of pyogenic liver abscess complicated with endophthalmitis. The bacterial organism cultured from liver abscess was Klebsiella pneumoniae. Treatment of this patient was composed of percutaneous drainage under ultrasonographic guidance, systemic and intravitreal antibiotic therapy. After treatment for 6 weeks, the liver abscess was resolved completely, but the visual outcome was very poor despite intensive treatment. We report a case of pyogenic liver abscess complicated with endophthalmitis. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2001;38:120-123)
