        The Effects of Online Peer Feedback with TrackChanges and Synchronous Computer-Mediated Communication

        This study examined the feedback types that students focused on during one peer feedback session with TrackChanges in MS Word and the interactions that the students made in synchronous computer-mediated communication (SCMC). For this study, we investigated 10 university EFL students who were highly proficient levels of literacy in English. They were asked to use the tool of TrackChanges in constructing feedback on student writing and then to hold online conference with an online chatting tool. Data sets included peer`s written commentary with TrackChanges and transcripts of online conferencing. The findings indicated that the students focused primarily on the feedback types of wrong word, style, verb errors, sentence structure, and content. Also, they clarified their feedback in SCMC, although all of the feedback types guaranteed the subsequent revision. The implications of this study were discussed.

        국내산 주요허브 열수 추출물의 항산화, 항균활성 및 세포독성

        본 연구는 10종 허브 추출물에 대한 DPPH 자유라디칼 소거능, 항균효과 및 세포독성에 미치는 영향을 조사함으로써 항생제 대체제로서 활용 가능성을 위한 기초 자료로 제시하고자 수행하였다. 10종의 허브 추출물의 DPPH 자유라디칼 소거능은 로즈마리, 오레가노 및 캐모마일이 각 49.9, 48.9, 47.7%으로 유의적으로 가장 높았다. 허브 추출물의 E. coli K99와 S. typhimurium에 대한 항균활성은 베르가못, 오레가노, 타임과 로즈마리가 두 균주에 공통적으로 활성이 높게 측정되었으며, 활성이 나타나는 농도에서의 세포독성이 비교적 낮아 안전한 것으로 관찰되었다. 본 연구 결과 유기 축산을 위한 가축 내 천연 항생제 대체제로 항균 및 항산화 활성이 높고, 세포독성이 낮게 나타난 오레가노와 로즈마리가 천연물질로 활용 가능할 것으로 판단되며, 다양한 추출 조건으로 최적 추출 효율을 검토하여 추가적인 생리활성물질 검정과 해당 물질에 대한 연구가 필요하다. In this study, the DPPH free radical scavenging activity, antimicrobial effects, growth inhibition and cytotoxicity of herb extracts were determined to screen alternative antibiotics. Hot water extracts of 10 species herbs (Origanum vulgare, Monarda didyma, Echinacea purpurea, Ocimum basilicum, Mentha piperita, Melissa officinalis, Thymus vulgaris, Stevia rebaudiana, Rosmarinus officinalis, Matricaria recutica) were used. DPPH free radical scavenging activity of all herb extracts was ranged from 31.4-49.9%, and significantly great activties were found at Rosmarinus officinalis, Origanum vulgare and Matricaria recutica (P<0.05). Hot water extracts of monarda didyma, origanum vulgare, thymus vulgaris and rosmarinus officinalis showed greater antimicrobial activities compared to others. Additionally, those four extracts represented relatively low cytotoxicity compared to others. As a result, it was found that Origanum vulgare and Rosmarinus officinalis which possessed great antioxidant and antimicrobial activity with less cytotoxicity. So these two herb extracts can be used as an alternative of antibiotics for organic farming.

        초등학교 교사가 지각한 창의적 작업환경 특성 분석

        본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 교사가 지각한 창의적 작업환경의 특성을 파악하고, 그에 따른 적절한 지침을 제공하여 초등학교의 창의적 작업환경 구성에 도움을 주고자 하였다. 이에 창의적 작업환경 검사도구로 널리 쓰이는 KEYS(Center for Creative Leadership, 2010)를 사용하여, 창원시에 소재한 초등학교 교사 310명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 그 자료를 분석하였다. 이 검사도구는 10개의 하위 요인 즉 ‘자율, ‘진취적인 업무, ‘관리자의 격려, ‘동료교사의 지지, ‘교육기관의 지원, ‘교육기관의 장애, ‘충분한 자원, ‘업무 부담’, ‘창의성’, ‘생산성으로 구성되어 있으며, 총 78문항으로 이루어져 있다. 분석 결과 본 연구의 결과는 초등학교의 교사들은 동료교사들에게 다양한 측면에서 서로에게 도움을 주고받았으며, 원활한 의사소통이 이루어지고 있었다. 또한 새로운 아이디어에 대해 서로 개방적인 태도를 취하였으며, 서로의 업무에 대해 건설적인 도전을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 본인의 업무에서 창의성을 발휘하거나 창의적인 방식으로 업무를 수행하는 것에서 매우 부족함을 느끼고 있었다. 따라서 조직의 창의성을 높이기 위해서는 교사들에게 다양한 경험을 가질 수 있는 기회를 많이 제공하며, 같은 문제를 다양한 시각에서 바라볼 수 있는 분위기를 조성하고 다양하고 독특한 아이디어를 접할 수 있는 기회를 자주 가지는 것이 필요하다고 할 수 있다. The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of the creative work environment as perceived by teachers in the elementary schools. For this purpose, a scale called KEYS, constructed by Amabile (2010) to measure characteristics of the creative work environments in certain organizations, was given to teachers in the elementary schools. The specific research questions of this study are as follows; 1) How do teachers perceive the over-all characteristics of a creative work environment of the educational organization they belong to?, and 2) Are there differences in teachers’ perceptions of the creative work environment according to the teacher’s background variables.

        페퍼민트분말 급여가 비육기 재래흑돼지의 육질 특성 및 지방산 조성에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 페퍼민트 급여가 재래흑돼지의 육질특성과 근육내 지방산 조성 및 콜레스테롤 함량에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 분석하기 위해 실시하였다. 이를 위해 페퍼민트 분말을 평균체중이 $77{\pm}5$ kg일 때부터 출하까지 0.2%(T1) 또는 0.4%(T2)를 50일간 급여하였으며, 도축 후 등심근을 채취하여 다양한 품질특성을 분석하였다. 일반성분은 처리구간에 유의적인 차이가 나타나지 않았으나, T2처리구에서 조지방 함량이 대조구보다 감소하는 경향이었다. 사후 45분 pH는 처리구간에 유의적인 차이가 없었지만, 24시 pH에서 대조구보다 유의적으로 T2처리구가 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 육색에 있어서 명도와 황색도는 T2가 대조구보다 유의적으로 낮게 나타났다(p<0.05). 연도와 보수력 역시 처리구간에 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 페퍼민트 첨가는 지방산 조성과 콜레스테롤 함량에 영향을 미치지 못하였으나, T1은 대조구보다 포화지방산이 감소하고 불포화지방산이 증가하는 경향이었다. 또한 콜레스테롤 감소지수는 T1이 대조구보다 유의적으로 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 이상의 결과를 종합하면 페퍼민트 첨가 사료는 돈육질에 큰 영향을 미치지는 않지만, 지방산 및 콜레스테롤의 건강기능적인 측면에서 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 판단되며, 보다 심도 있는 추가 연구가 필요한 것으로 사료된다. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of peppermint powder on meat quality and fatty acid composition in finishing Korean native black pigs. Ninety pigs were randomly allocated to three dietary treatments and fed peppermint powder at 0 (C), 0.2 (T1), and 0.4% (T2) in the basal diet, respectively for 50 d. The proximate composition of Longissimus dorsi muscle was not significantly different among the treatments; however, the fat content in T2 tended to be lower than the control. No difference in $pH_{45min}$ was observed, whereas $pH_{24h}$ was higher in T2 than the control (p<0.01). T2 showed the lowest lightness (p<0.01) and yellowness values (p<0.05), but shear force and drip loss were no different among the treatments. Individual fatty acid and cholesterol compositions did not differ among the treatments; however, T1 showed a decreasing trend for saturated fatty acid content and an increasing trend for unsaturated fatty acid content. The hypocholesterolemic index was significantly higher in T1 than in the control (p<0.05). These results suggest that dietary peppermint could positively affect fatty acid and cholesterol levels without changing meat quality in finishing Korean native black pigs.

        Growth Curves Fitting for Body Weight and Backfat Thickness of Swine by Sex

        The purpose of this study was to establish proper shipping weight and backfat thickness by applying the growth model to backfat thickness, measured by means of not only body weight, but also ultrasonography, and predicting the changes by age. Three breeds, i.e. Duroc, Landrace, and Yorkshie, were analyzed, and the Gompertz, logistic, and Von Bertalanffy model were used for inference with the parameter of the growth model being sex. As a result, both body weight and backfat thickness showed different growth curve parameters and characteristics at inflection points depending on model selection and sex. As for backfat thickness, in estimating the inflection point, unlike the case of body weight, the inflection ages of the boars of the Duroc breed was earlier than that of sows, whereas the inflection ages of the sows of the Landrace and Yorkshire breeds was earlier than that of boars. More than anything else, in the analysis of the changes in backfat thickness according to body weight, as the body weight reached 145kg, the backfat thickness showed much variation as great as 1.7-3.2 cm in each breed and sex. In addition, unlike the other breeds, the boars of the Landrace breed showed an exponential type of relationship between body weight and backfat thickness. As they grow to become 100 kg or heavier, abrupt change in back fat thickness was confirmed. If the growth of body weight and backfat thickness is understood and the genetic relationship is taken advantage of like this, it would be possible to set desired body weight and backfat thickness, and thus help effectively set the shipping time. If not only the phenotype, but also genetic parameters about growth characteristics are estimated and analyzed additionally, more effective data can be generated.

        산란계에 편백나무 정유 살포가 닭진드기에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 편백나무 정유를 70% 함유한 FC-S 살포액을 배율별로 희석하여 살포시에 닭진드기 제거와 안전성에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 실행하였다. 닭진드기에 감염된 산란계 300수를 5개 처리구와 5반복 반복당 12수씩 18일간 배치하였다. 각 처리구의 살포액은 FC-S를 0배(원액, FC-S 0), 50배(FC-S 50) 및 100배(FC-S 100)로 희석한 시료와 증류수(NC) 및 시중에서 판매되는 천연살충제(PC)를 이용하였다. 닭진드기 숫자, 산란율, 난중은 매일 확인하였고, 계란품질과 혈액성상은 사양실험 종료 후 측정하였다. 안전성 검사를 위하여 산란계의 사료섭취, 호흡기증상, 침울, 설사 및 폐사 증상을 확인하였다. 본 연구결과, FC-S 0을 살포시에 80% 이상의 닭진드기가 제거되었으며(P<0.01), FC-S 50 처리구도 PC 처리구보다 개선되었다. FC-S 100 처리구는 PC 처리구보다 진드기 제거에 미치는 영향이 적었지만, NC 처리구에 비하여 닭진드기 제거는 매우 개선되었다(P<0.01). FC-S를 살포한 후 산란계의 생산성, 계란품질, 혈액성상 및 안전성에 미치는 영향은 처리구간에 유사하였으며, 통계적 차이가 없었다. 본 연구결과, FC-S의 살포는 산란계에 미치는 영향은 없었으므로, 닭진드기에만 선택적으로 작용하였다고 사료되며, FC-S 0∼50배 희석배율의 살포는 상용화되어 판매되는 살포액보다 효과적으로 닭진드기를 제거하였다. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence and safety of spraying Farm Clean-S (FC-S) containing 70% Chamaecyparis obtusa essential oil on the elimination of red mite in laying hens. In total, 300 laying hens (ISA brown) aged 72 weeks and infected with red mite were assigned to individual cages for five treatments with five replicates for 18 days. Treatments consisted of distilled water (negative control; NC), commercial spray product (positive control; PC), FC-S 0 (original concentration), FC-S 50 (50 times diluted) and FC-S 100 (100 times diluted). The number of red mites, egg production and weight of each group were evaluated daily throughout the whole experimental period. Egg quality and blood biochemical parameters were measured at the end of the experiment. Safety tests were confirmed by feed intake, respiration, lethargy, diarrhea and mortality symptoms after the feeding trial. As the result, more than 80% of red mites were eliminated by the FC-S 0 spray treatment, and FC-S 50 also showed a higher elimination percentage than did PC (P<0.01). However, the elimination effect of the FC-S 100 spray was lower than that of the PC, but higher than that of the NC (P<0.01). These results confirmed that the optimum FC-S dilution rate ranged from 0∼50 times with distilled water to eliminate the red mite effectively. The performance, egg quality, blood parameter and safety tests were not significantly different among treatments. Thus, FC-S 0 and FC-S 50 spray treatments can effectively and sustainably control red mite infestations without detrimental effects on the performance, egg quality and plasma biochemical properties of laying hens.

        복합 생균제가 육계의 생산성, 육질, 지방산 조성 및 면역 반응에 미치는 영향

        This study was conducted to investigate the efficacy of mixed probiotic on the immunity, productivity index and mortality rate in the broiler. Total of 120 one-day-old Ross broilers chicks were randomly assigned into two treatments (control dietary group and probiotic-treated group) with three replications of each treatment. The probiotic group broiler had a lower mortality rate than control during the experimental period. The productivity index in the probiotic group increased significantly than the control group. The weight of the bursa of fabricius was high in the probiotic-treated group than the control group. Activated the immunity level after fed the probiotic mixed diet compared to the control group. Furthermore, the probiotic diet significantly decreased the saturated fatty the control group. Whereas the probiotic mixed diet increased the unsaturated fatty acid than the control group. Afterward, the diet including probiotic induced positive impact on broilers immunity level. This indicates that a probiotic mixed diet could be protecting the intestine from the invasion of a pathogenic organism. It would be beneficial to the poultry industries by decrease the broiler mortality rate with elevated the immunity.

        고지방 사료에 타우린 첨가가 산란계의 생산성, 계란 품질, 혈액 성상, 간 조직의 지질 및 지질과산화물 수준에 미치는 영향

        본 실험은 타우린이 고지방 사료를 급여한 산란계의 생산성, 계란 품질, 혈액 성상, 간 조직의 지질 및 지질과산화물 수준에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 45주령 Hy-Line 갈색계 280수를 4개의 처리구로 구분하여 처리구당 7반복, 반복당 10수씩 배치하여 4주간 실시하였다. 실험 처리구는 기초 사료를 대조구로 하고, 기초 사료+0.5% 타우린(CT), 기초 사료+5% 대두유(HF) 그리고 기초 사료+5% 대두유+0.5% 타우린(HFT)로 구분하였다. 난중은 CT가 대조구보다 유의적으로 낮았으나(P<0.05), HFT는 대조구 그리고 HF와 비교하여 비슷한 수준이었다. 혈청 중 총 콜레스테롤, 중성지방 그리고 GOT 농도에서 HFT는 HF보다 유의적으로 각각 약 30%, 36% 그리고 20% 감소하였다(P<0.05). 간 조직에서 중성지방 농도는 HFT보다 HF보다 약 28% 낮은 경향이었으며, 지질과 산화물 농도는 HFT가 HF보다 유의적으로 약 25% 감소하였다(P<0.05). 따라서 본 연구 결과, 고지방 사료에 타우린의 급여는 산란계의 생산성에 영향을 미치지 않으면서 혈청 중총 콜레스테롤과 중성지방 농도를 개선하였으며, 간 조직의 지질과산화물 농도를 감소시키는 것으로 평가되었다. The current study was conducted to estimate the effect of dietary taurine on performance, egg quality, blood parameter, liver lipids and lipid peroxidation level of laying hens fed high fat diet. Two hundred eighty laying hens, forty five weeks of age, were allocated to four treatment groups with seven replicates of 10 each per treatment for 4 weeks. Experimental diets were assigned to each of the four groups: control diet (CON), CON with 0.5% taurine (CT), CON with 5% soybean oil (HF), and CON with 5% soybean oil and 0.5% taurine (HFT). Egg weight was significantly lower in the control than the CT (P<0.05). However, the HFT was similar to the level compared to both control and HF. Serum concentrations of total cholesterol, triglyceride and glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) were significantly decreased by about 30%, 36% and 20%, respectively in the HFT compared to the HF (P<0.05). In the liver tissue, triglyceride concentration tended to be lower by about 28% in the HFT compared to the HF (P<0.05). The hepatic lipid peroxidation level was significantly decreased by about 25% in the HFT compared to the HF (P<0.05). These results indicated that taurine supplementation improved the serum total cholesterol, triglyceride concentration, and decreased hepatic lipid peroxidation level without affecting performance in laying hens fed high fat diet.

        일반농장과 동물복지농장 닭의 혈액 내 gas, 생화학인자, 호르몬 농도 및 근육 내 스트레스 반응인자 비교

        It is generally recognized that high stocking density can increase the risk of immune dysfunction and reduction in productivity cause of elevated stress in broiler farm. The domestic livestock industry is implementing a certification system for animal welfare and livestock farms to reduce the problem of dense breeding. This study compared broiler from the general farm and animal welfare farm to confirm the effectiveness of animal welfare farms against stress. Gas concentrations in a farm of general and animal welfare farms were analyzed, blood (n=10) of the 28-day-old broiler was collected, the partial pressure of the gas in the blood was analyzed using whole blood, and biochemical factors and hormones were analyzed using the serum. Glycogen and L-lactate are analyzed using ELISA kit on finely pulverized muscles (n=10). CO<sub>2</sub> and NH<sub>3</sub> levels in the farm were significantly higher in general farm. Partial carbon dioxide tension (PCO<sub>2</sub>) in blood was significantly higher and partial oxygen tension (PO<sub>2</sub>) was significantly lower in the general farm. Creatinine (CREA), glucose (GLU), aspartateaminotransferase (AST), and creatinekinase (CK) in the blood were significantly higher in the general farm, and total protein (TP) and globulin (GLOB) were significantly higher in animal welfare farm. Blood corticosterone and norepinephrine were significantly higher in general farm and epinephrine was significantly higher in animal welfare farm. These results imply that animal welfare farm provides a stress-reduced breeding environment.
